Goddess of the Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie III is a thrilling paranormal/fantasy, it’s an original concept that the author filled full of rich and detailed descriptions and unique, interesting and well-developed characters. This is the first time that I have read any of this authors work, so I wasn’t sure of what to expect. I liked the concept of the story and decided to take a chance. While it took me a little while to get into the story, as it was a little slow in the beginning, once the pace and story picked up I became fully engrossed in what I was reading. I would definitely read more of Mr. DeBlassie’s work in the future.
The story really wasn’t what I was expecting at all- the twists, good vs evil, and the psychological aspect to the plot, all kept me turning the pages to discover what was happening. The story had a lot going on in it and was quite an unexpected discovery. I’m glad I took a chance on it.

This was an interesting and intellectual story. Some of the description was repetitive but the story was engrossing. This was evil versus good. Eve was a strong person but she had her doubts which could have led to a different ending. I loved how the good women trusted in each other, relied on each other, yet were their own persons. I also enjoyed the bit of romance between Eve and Sam. I found the psychologic side just as interesting as the metaphysical side.

First of all, let me say that I really admire how this author is able to weave his words together to keep the reader engaged, even though his writing is so meandering that it is sometimes almost impossible to tell the present from the scene building or description.
This has the promise of being a really great story, but I found myself becoming lost in the way that the novel was written, with past, present, and imagery being all mixed up together, sometimes in the same paragraph. As I said, the gift that the author has with words kept me engaged, but it often took a lot of concentration to decipher.
The story itself is about a woman named Eve who, along with being a budding witch, is looking for love in a world of hurt. Unfortunately, her search ends up making her a target for an evil witch, and it is up to those around her to try to realize their powers before they are all murdered by the curse of said evil witch. This dark fantasy takes place in a world where all, or nearly all, the people involved are witches, warlocks, or at least worshipers of the ancient gods and goddesses. The author is a professional who specializes in depth psychology, and it definitely shows in all the symbology and cultural details that populates the text. There is almost no chance to become truly enchanted with the characters. With the exception of the evil witch, there are no back stories or memories, other than a few almost casual remarks about their relationships, so there is nothing that really allows you to know these people. The reader feels like simply an outside observer to the action, and the only question really seems to be whether everyone will survive the final showdown or not.
This is a good novel, though it definitely needs work to mold it into something great. I would not recommend it for the casual, first-time fantasy reader. Also, it is for adult audiences, since there are many innuendos of sexual themes. However, if you are a fan of dark fantasies where imagery and symbolism abound, and do not mind briefly drawn characters, this just may be the book for you.

Recently, I’ve been reading lots of YA and open door romance and needed a bit of a break. I initially chose this story based on a few things; in the blurb it describes Eve Sanchez as ‘a middle-aged woman and scholar of esoteric studies…’ A strong, middle-aged woman is rarely written about these days so I snapped it up. The other reason I chose it is because of the struggle ‘with whether bad love is better than no love…’

It took me a little bit to get the flow of the author’s writing. Once I did, this story just ebbed and flowed for me and the writing held my attention. This story has some twists and turns that make it a combination of folklore, paranormal, and a road trip with friends (not your traditional girls road trip though). One of the friendships is described as “a habit. And habits were addictive.” The writing is very nuanced and understated as it took me on a journey I was not expecting.

There are many descriptions of how “She is Goddess of the Wild Thing” and I kept highlighting because I feel like we all have a bit of “The Goddess” in us (in good ways AND bad).

I did enjoy this story and would be interested in reading future works of the author.

Goddess of a Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie lll a fantasy of a four-star read. This was my first read by this author and it doesn’t disappoint, there is a bit of everything in this, thriller, fantasy, drama, action and paranormal fantasy thrown in. Overall there is a great story but there are a couple of things that didn’t settle with me, but the journey of self-discovery that Eve and her friends go on is well written and the story line will keep you hooked from start to end there are ups and downs a plenty that will have you teetering on the edge of your seat. I wish I could give this five-stars as the story overall was great, but there was just a couple of bits that I couldn’t ignore. I hope to read more from this author.

Awesome read! It's got it all. Good vs evil. Path to true love. Four great friends. This journey was gripping. There's plenty of twists and turns to keep you intrigued. The author's use of symbolism and attention to detail just made it so easy to follow along on the ride. I liked the main and supporting characters as they seemed important for the story line and each added value to the book. I liked Eve best. She was a strong, smart, caring, thoughtful, compassionate woman. She has clearly had her struggles – both in love and life, but she continues to push forward.

A strong character development journey to root for and enjoy watching it unfold!

This book was filled with excellent plot obstacles that the main characters had to face. They were well constructed and thoroughly thought-out.

It’s clear that the author is well versed in love, affection, and drama as his day job is in psychology. The author brings the story down to a level that can easily be understood and enjoyed by all readers.

I was very intrigued by the story line and found the concept to be creative and innovative.

This book genre is marketed as a thriller book and yet the author found a way to throw in adventure, mystery, magic, paranormal, romance, intrigue, and suspense elements into the book. It definitely added a fascinating extra component to the story!

I loved that the author snuck hidden messages throughout the book. It really raised more questions and allowed other viewpoints and helped me see things in different ways. I don’t want to give away too many spoilers out, but some of the messages are about love, the true value of love, the hardships of love, and how far you’d go for love. I think many of us just throw that four-letter word out there and may not really think about what it truly means. Also, included themes are good vs evil and second chances.

The writing style is fluid, well developed, and at a steady pace.

This book is on the longer side at 199 eBook pages, but mostly direct. It does lavish on some details, but it is mostly to the point. For instance, I feel even though it was a long journey to the end, every chapter and scene was needed to make this book the success that it is.

There are some predictable scenes. However, there are still a few very unexpected twists and turns that you won’t see coming!

This book is not currently listed as part of a book series. It can be read as a standalone.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it! I think all thriller fans will like this book too! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading – you won’t be disappointed!

In Goddess of the Wild Thing, Paul DeBlassie III has written an unusual book. His descriptions are captivating, and his language is poetic. There is a repetition to his style that turns his prose into an incantation all its own. Goddess of the Wild Thing may be a book about spells, but a reader feels the author casting his own spell, too. It’s eerie yet effective.

I enjoyed getting to know Eve, the strong female protagonist. (You’ve got to love a woman who is being sucked into quicksand by an evil witch and gives her the finger.)  But the most amazing accomplishment in this story is DeBlassie’s thorough and horrifying creation of Sweet Mary. This woman (this creature?) has got to be one of the most frightening villains I’ve encountered. He describes her life, motivations, and methods with realism and relentless detail

However, there was a little thing and a big thing that troubled me.

The little thing: The author keeps referring to females as felines, almost as if the words are interchangeable. They aren’t. It’s a minor point, but associating half the human race with a type of animal got more annoying with repetition.

The big thing: Well, sometimes it’s hard to tell the true nature of a book from its blurb, and I misjudged this one, guessing it was a sort of metaphysical fantasy (which I love) tinged with romance (which I tolerate.)

It isn’t. This book is a modern, compelling, and well-written horror novel. The problem is I don’t like gore and most of the book reminded me why horror simply isn’t my genre. So … there was a fair amount of skimming required for me to get through this. But, just because I don’t enjoy something, doesn’t mean I can’t recognize when it’s well done.

Do I recommend Goddess of the Wild Thing? Definitely, if you are not particularly squeamish and would enjoy a modern, compelling, and well-written horror novel. I'm not one of those people, but maybe you are.

Goddess of the Wild Thing Appeals to a Variety of Readers. Initially, I thought this book was more of a supernatural/horror thriller--when, in reality it is a mixture of much more. The novel is a unique blend of romance, psychology, the paranormal, and fantasy rolled into a thriller. I always say that I am not a romance novel reader--unless the novel holds more than a same old-same old romance. While romance is a focus of the novel; it is so well blended into the story as the author develops the characters and their supernatural world with plot twists and glimpses of real-world, human nature. Fans of romance novels will enjoy the story as will fans of paranormal thrillers.

The Author's Writing Style Keeps Readers Engaged. Initially, it took me a few chapters of the book to settle into the setting and the characters as the plot began to develop. Once I understood some of the issues at hand, the author allowed me to see the story from the various character points of view as the story progressed. This really made the story more complete and strengthened my connections to the characters. There were still characters that I didn't necessarily like (all of the time)--but, I was able to better understand some of the relationships and the plot twists.

Would I recommend Goddess of the Wild Thing? Fans who seek more than just a love triangle in their romance novels--or some realism in their fantasy novels--should plan to add this to their reading list. There are so many forces coming into play from both the real world and the magical one that this book was a unique read that was difficult to put down. I would recommend it to supernatural romance fans--but, I also think that fans of psychological thrillers and dramas will be intrigued as well.

I enjoyed this fantasy romance, especially the fact that it was set in the Southwest. For me, that gave the story a bit of a different spin. I don’t recall reading a witch-centric story in the Southwest, so it has a little different flavor. It’s also set in the modern day, with a good mix of magic and reality that even non-fantasy readers can enjoy.

This story is fairly a straight up good vs. bad, love vs. evil/bad love kind of story. Generally, I like gray area in characters and stories, but the stark contrast worked in this. The realness of the rest of the story balanced out the black-and-white aspect of the love triangle.

For example, things like Eve, the main character, and her friends going out for drinks to forget about their work- and love-life woes is something most of us can relate to. So, when the story starts to enter into this world of magic, which happens mostly at night (many times in a drunken or dream state), it’s not jarring. That aspect of the writing makes this story very accessible to many types of readers, in my opinion.

I could have used a little more depth to the male love interest, Sam. Mostly, I found myself searching for something that these two women would really fight for beyond his attractiveness. There were moments of kindness and he was under a spell. Perhaps I needed a little more of the non-hexed Sam to get more of a sense of him and his appeal to Eve.

But overall, the story was entertaining and fun to read. In fact, I think some of the elements I point out as slight cons here actually add to the fun aspect of it. For fantasy romance readers, I think this book has everything you need for a good read. For non-fantasy readers thinking about dabbling into the genre, this would be a great first read for you.

Goddess of The Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie III is a fantasy-thriller story with some romance mixed in. This is my first story by this author and I can't wait to see what else he has for us. I enjoyed his writing style that pulled me in from the beginning. His attention to details where descriptive and made a situation or item stand out more. His characters where creative and interesting. They will take you on some twists and turns that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat just waiting to see what will happen next. You never know what you might find lurking in the next page. This is the story of Eve who has had some bad experiences with men and has pretty much given up on love. Then she meets him, will he be able to change her opinion on love? Eve and her three friends go on a journey of discovering if one should just take what they can get good or bad. They meet some wicked witch who has a obsession with a man that could be threatening and put lives in danger. Eve struggles with deciding if she should take a chance on love but a battle between good and evil just might make it an easy choice for her. I enjoyed the characters in this story as well as the secondary characters. These four women has kind of a strange relationship with each other as they are friends but don't always seem to like each other. They each have their own qualities that make them strong characters. They will just take you on a journey to find love that will leave you wanting to know more. I highly recommend this story as it is an easy flowing story that you won't be able to put down until the last page. Find out if these four women find the love they are looking for.

Goddess of The Wild Thing By Paul DeBlassie lll is a fantasy-thrillerand a little bit of romance  thrown in to.I enjoyed this book once I got into it a bit. It started out a little slow but man once I got into it I couldn't put it down.This is my first book by this author and I will honesty say I can't wait to read more from this author. I liked his style of writing and one I got into it I was drawn in till the very end. His characters are very likeable and interesting at the same time. Get ready because these characters will take you on some twist and turns and surprise you that's for sure. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. You just never know what might be lurking around next.This story is about Eve,she's not had the best of luck with men and pretty much has given up on  love.That all  might change when she meets him.Can he help change her mind and opinion about love?Eve along with three of her friends begin a journey  of discovering if you should take what you can get rather it be good or bad. They then meet a wicked witch whom has obsession with a man who could not only be threatening but puts lives in danger. Eve is struggling with the decision if she should  take a chance on love ,but battle between good and evil might make the choice easier for her.I highly recommend this book especially if you want to know what happens and how it ends.

Goddess of the Wild thing by Paul DeBlassie III, fell flat for me. Whilst the story promised romance and magic, I found it to come across lacklustre. It was a book I really wanted to enjoy and tried very hard to like, but it all fell short. From the very beginning I found the story hard to follow with several characters introductions and their very similar descriptions, to the sudden change in narration and tense. I wanted to like Eve, but I couldn’t stand her, or her friends that all seemed like the exact same character just with different coloured hair. I struggled to like Sam and his romance with Eve. As he came across very playboy and arrogant, which has never been my cup of tea.
I couldn’t wrap my head around the magic system and struggled to determine how it and Goddess fit into the story. I was questioning whether everyone knew about witches and curses or if it was solely a female bloodline, kind of magic system. The story left me rather confused and lost, that I would need to reread pages to figure out who this character was and how they fit into the story. Whilst the magic was hard to follow at times, I did enjoy its relation to pagan magic and it’s history in the US, as well as it’s incorporation with Native American mythology and magic.

The story was relatively unique and I think with a bit more work it could grow and flesh out, so that it didn’t feel as repetitive. I rate it 3/5 stars.

Goddess Of The Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie III was a paranormal/fantasy thriller that will keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end.

This book was a bit out of my normal comfort zone, though I am a huge paranormal/fantasy fan, I don't read much in the psychological thriller-ish genre (though I do watch a lot of psychological thrille movie and TV) I find them in book form, boring, more so not so much the plots but the writing styles. This book, for me, though it did take me a few chapters to get into, has change my thinking. The flow was nice, and I found that it was easy to follow, but still gripping at the same time.

The twist and turns threw me, and it was exciting. I really got into this book and I was sad when it ended... oh and that ending..perfection.

I love the interactions between the characters and I loved how though this book is in left field, it still has a realism to it that made you connect. This book is truly a wild ride and I believe that you will get sucked into this magical yet tariffing world of good VS evil, and finding out what it is to really truly love someone. Take my high recommendation that you will not be able to but this book down once you start, and believe me, you're going to have a hard time guess just where this story is going, and how it will end.

In Goddess of the Wild Thing, Eve Sanchez, a middle-aged woman and scholar of esoteris studies, encounters a seductive man with a frightening side to him… Sam is a bit of a ladies man, arrogant, confident, and I was a bit wary of him at first. He grew on me, though, and I began to like him as the book progressed – however, never as much as I liked Eve.

Eve was a balanced character, sometimes confident, sometimes lacking confidence. She was looking for love, for the feeling of belonging somewhere, and her own search and spiritual journey made it easy for me to relate to her.

Part of the book is set in a supernatural world, in Aztlan del Sur, and Eve’s quest is not so much a quest to save herself or others, but more of an inner journey, a spiritual journey, to discover what love is, whether bad love is better than no love, and the meaning of it all. The ‘villain’ of the story, Sweet Mary, is quite an interesting character too, and when all the dots connected, the inner story with the events happening throughout the book, I was pleasantly surprised.

Fans of psychological thrillers with paranormal elements and a lot of magical sybolism will no doubt enjoy this book.

This is my first book by this author and I have mixed feelings about this story. On one hand the writing was absolutely amazing, on the other, this is not my chosen genre and because of that and only that I give it 4 stars. The story flowed great, but sometimes the descriptions of what was being described seemed to have more words than I thought necessary, and that could just be because this world that was created in this story isn't something that interests me normally.

I loved Eve and I loved how her connection to Graciela stayed with her mentally even though losing her physically. Eve lost Graciela while on her way to get advice from her about a man she met and then meeting him again on the street one night had her mind all sorts of messed up. I loved the friendship bond between the 4 friends, all unlucky in love asking themselves the question What if bad love is what we get, shouldn't we just take it…The character of Sweet Mary was interesting and her wanting to claim as her own, this man that had his sights set on Eve made for a strange sort of love triangle.

Because of the way this book was written I will definitely look into what else this author has, and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that just loves the metaphysical, paranormal type thriller.

I originally chose this book because the title intrigued me. After reading the synopsis, I was pretty sure this would be a stellar book. I don’t know whether it was the writing style or not, but I found it a challenging read, which is saying something since I will read just about anything and I rarely find a book that doesn’t capture my attention. The premise of the book is interesting, I just could not connect with the characters. This book has more of the feel of talking about the characters rather than allowing you to be the character, if that makes sense.

I loved the idea of the characters being in a spiritual growth experience relating to love. I also found the antagonist characters written in a way that is much darker than a normal supernatural romance type book, which did add some dimension to the story. I really would have enjoyed this story more if the other characters had more relatable.

Another thing to consider while reading this is that it is not necessarily meant for pure entertainment. There are some archetypal elements that exist in the story and those often work on a subconscious level. Not knowing the intention of the author, it could be that the story is meant to work at the subconscious level and make more of an impact there.

While it took me a little while to get into the story at first but the more I continued the more I became fully enthralled in what I was reading.
The story had so many twists and turns, good vs evil, which kept me turning the pages to find out what was happening. The story had a lot going on in it and was quite an unexpected discovery. I’m glad I took a chance on this author and story. I think I will be reading more paranormal/fantasy stories in the future.
This story centers around Eve who is mourning the death of someone who was both a friend and her mentor. When she meets a stranger in a bar, this stranger has a dark side and he takes her on a journey within the supernatural world. The question now for Eve is while taking this journey can she find the answers she is looking for? Will she find the everlasting love that she so craves for but is yet to find?
I can't wait to see what is next from Paul DeBlassie III. But believe me, you will not be disappointed by this one. Happy reading.

The story Goddess Of The Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie III is a book that I loved reading. It pulled me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It takes you on a journey that includes dreams and also the supernatural. There are parts that are thrilling and had me wondering what was going to happen next. Eve and her friends are my favorite characters in the story. Eve is a woman who has not had much success with love and relationships. She is beautiful, intelligent, and sensitive. Sam Shear is a man that has been unable to stop thinking about Eve since he met her. He is a criminal lawyer who rarely loses cases. Visions, nightmares, curses, and rituals play a part in the telling of this tale. Add in another character that is selfish, manipulative, and evil and you soon realize that there is danger to be faced. Read to find out what happens to Eve and Sam. The author does a wonderful job of building a world that you want to get to know more about. I loved reading about the lands and realms that are described. This is a well-written story that you won’t want to miss out on reading.

Paul DeBlassie III was a completely new author to me when I picked up Goddess of the Wild Thing. I was drawn in by the eye-popping cover art and the minimal but gripping description of the novel. I will not lie, I really wanted to love this book. I had high hopes but it just fell short for me. I had a really hard time wanting to push through the first 30% of the novel. It just was very slow to build up and get to that point where I was hooked. Once it did though, it was a solid four star read.

In Goddess of the Wild Thing we get the story of Eve. Now Eve has not had much luck in the love department. She struggles with the day to day monotony that most can relate to. Everything will change when she meets Sam. Will Sam be the one that will break her bad luck with love? What will happen to her everyday life when he introduces her to a whole new supernatural world?

Overall there is several different things going on in this book. We have the love triangle of sorts, fantasy and sci-fi type scenarios, and of course the ideals of good vs. bad, and good love vs. bad love. What will ultimately win out in the end? You will have to read for yourself to see just how it all comes together in the exploding final chapters.

Paul DeBlassie has the capability of inventing worlds and describing things in minute detail. He is a psychologist who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico and this influences his stories. The myths of Azlan are interwoven throughout his books.

This story is about Eve and her spiritual journey to overcoming the pain of unrequited love. Though she knows Sam is dangerous, she can’t help but be attracted. This causes a witch to take notice of her and the battle between good and evil begins.

The concept was interesting. My problem with the book was that it was confusing. The present, reality, otherworld and dreamworld were mixed together. I sometimes wouldn’t realize that we switched realities because it was all in the same paragraph. This happens constantly throughout the book. It also took me awhile to realize the witch was alive because up until that moment I thought she was a spirit living in a mirror.

I did like the fact that the author referenced his other book The Unholy in this one. It connected the two stories to make his world seem more real. If you pay attention, you’ll enjoy the book seeing as the story is interestingly filled with magic and Native American folklore.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I picked up Paul DeBlassie III’s Goddess of the Wild Thing. It stands out from other books I have read as a rich paranormal fantasy that draws on spiritual and psychological ideas to create a fascinating world and gripping story.
DeBlassie’s descriptive writing particularly caught my attention, with the level of detail and vivid language used really painting a picture. At times, I felt this slowed down the progress of the story or made it hard to keep up, but at others it really painted a picture for me.
The central characters are a group of four women – Eve, Shirley, Tanya and Samantha. It’s nice reading a book where the characters are a bit older and have experienced more in their lives. The characters are strong and not afraid to disagree with each other which leads to some interesting conflicts. Although it’s a story about love, it’s good to have such a focus on friendships that outlast the ups and downs of romantic affairs.
For me, this is a four star book. I found it very interesting, and it was good to read something a bit different! I’d recommend it to fans of the paranormal who are after a book that will keep them on the edge of their seat.

Goddess of the Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie is a suspense, fantasy thriller centering around Eve and her journey through magical happenings and avoiding love at all costs. Eve wants the happily ever after but after such a sordid history in that department she has given it all up until Sam comes into the picture. Sam is someone that you could like as a person – once you got to know him – but comes off as a cocky ladies man who can get anyone he wants in the beginning. I both loved and hated Sam in the beginning, but the way that he pursued Eve made me see that he was a good guy underneath his suave. The magical background in this story comes about with witches and love curses, and even a battle between good and evil. DeBlassie is a new to me author, but this book kept me on the edge of my seat for most of it which makes me like his style of writing. I normally don’t read magical themed books but this one was written so well that it didn’t seem that way. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for something a little different to read, but still wanting the romance aspect because this book delivered on all counts!

This was a very different story to that in which I am used to reading but I did enjoy it. The book delves into the supernatural and spiritual world. The story is full of twists and turns and the struggles of the four woman to find love. I found the book to be very deep and dark. The author has a unique way of bringing the characters and the situation to life and just draws the reader into the story. I found I couldnt put the book down.

The whole story draws you in and the symbolism used in the book just adds to appeal. I was filled with emotions as I read the book at some points and filled with wonder at others. The book has a lot of metaphor and symbolism and draws the reader into the dark part of spirituality and the supernatural. I found that the sisterhood of the four main characters just adds to the book and the storyline and enriches it. The quest for true pure love is always a great storyline and the evils that wish to get in the way of that hunt are highlighted in this book. I would love to read more by this author and see how the supernatural world continues to develop in his worlds.

Goddess of the Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie llll is a fantasy type story, With a little suspense and romance thrown in. This is my first time reading this author, but now that I have… it definitely won’t be my last!
Paul’s writing style is quite captivating. It will grab your attention from the get go and hold your interest until the very end. The characters are interesting and entertaining. You’ll enjoy the characters and story, from the start!!
Eve has always been unlucky in the love department. She’s had some terrible past experiences with men. That has made her pretty much give up on men and love.
Just when she has given up… he appears out of nowhere! Will her outlook on love change? Will he be able to change her mind?Eve also embarks on a journey with three of her good friends. They encounter good and evil.
You have to read this book to see what journey Eve and her friends take you on. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride, full of ups and downs. You never know where exactly the story is going to take you next! Great job, Paul! I can’t wait to see what’s next from you!

Goddess of the Wild Things by Paul DeBlassie III is a very different kind of writing. I did enjoy this style and thought the book, although it had a slow start, was overall very nice.

I really enjoyed how this book was centered around Eve and 3 of her friends as they discover if love is really worth it or if they should just give up. One of my favorite aspects about this book is the way Eve has a mental bond with her friend Graciela who had just died. Even though she is no longer alive Eve still feels connected with her. The evil witch, Sweet Mary, I hate her character. She gets on my nerves but the name is such a perfect villainous name. With Sweet Mary wanting to claim the man that has his sights set on Eve, a love triangle is born, who doesn’t love a good love triangle?

Overall a good book, I would love to read more this author has to offer. I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars due to the fact that the beginning was slow and I was confused in different parts, but I would not let this deter you from reading this book, it was definitely worth the read, and I would recommend to anyone who likes a good psychological, supernatural romantic thriller.

Goddess Of The Wild Thing by Paul DeBlassie III is a mix of paranormal and fantasy with a side of thriller thrown into it. I got intrigued to read the book after reading the synopsis and I have to say that it is not so good to have too many expectations.
The book was not at all of what I expected. I found it really hard to read and to get into it; I wonder if it was the style of writing but I simply could not loose myself in the story. I had hard time to relate to the characters … I mean the story is full of witchcraft and darkness and symbolism and at times I felt that is was way too much … as if the writer wanted to give us too much … sometimes less is more!
I wanted to know more about the character, not just be told their story slightly in a superficial way … I loved the dynamics between the 4 girls and their friendship, I loved the deep respect that Eva had towards her old spiritual mentor … I loved the premises of the victory of light and love over the darkness and evil … still … at the same time I felt like something was missing … I was observing the story and not ‘living’ it as I usually do with the stories I love …
