Bestseller in Inspirational Christian Romance.
The only obstacle standing between her and her future... was the Potomac River she was sinking into.

DESCRIPTION:

I almost drowned...then I lived.

Blossom Daniels lost her job moments after she reported to work, because she couldn't climb the stairs for mail delivery, thanks to a permanently broken down elevator. Her day was only beginning. Little did she know, before it ended, she'd be fighting for her life in the chilly grip of the Potomac.

Josh Miller was running late to his sister's baby shower--a shower she pressured him to attend, refusing to hear his complaints of, "men don't attend that sort of event." But after a slew of traffic mishaps, neither his sister's baby shower nor the traffic comprised his agenda. He was diving into the depths of the Potomac River to save a person he'd never met.

Blossom knew her weight would challenge anyone attempting to save her. She prayed desperately, "God, if you save me, I will lose this weight!" First, she must overcome the rough waves determined to sink her.

Blossom has no idea how bad this day was going to be when she went to work that morning. Josh didn't understand why he couldn't find his way to his sister's house for her baby shower. These two have the most unlikely way of meeting, but with God in control their lives were about to change. Blossom has lost everything important to her but on the fateful day she cries out "God if you save me, I will loose weight ". My goodness Blossom has to go through some very tough times to get her to where God wants her. Josh can't believe his eyes when he sees those beautiful brown eyes. This story will encourage you to go for your dreams, knowing that no matter how far you fall you can get to the top when you trust God. A bit of a suspense, lots of emotion as well as romance in this exciting story.
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion.

Close call Awakening

No one likes to loose their job, much less for not being able to run stairs after the elevator breaks. In this book, Blossom Daniels is that someone (Love her name by the way). The company’s brand new policies disgusts me, but sadly it happens often in the real world. In this story Blossom seems to find many closed doors and with God’s grace they became opened. Throughout it all still successfully praises God for everything no matter the outcome. There are inspiring places in the text that I see is needed to improve on, in my own walk with God. My only disappointment is that I would’ve liked to have read a longer ending with more daily detail. It WAS fulfilling to know Josh and Blossom were meant to be in love and in business. Be Blessed!

Very disappointing. Book 1 wasn’t great but I loved the concept and the developer, met of the character. You u Dee stood and experienced Candace’s journey. Not in this one.

This read like a novella thrown together. She cries so hard she can’t see. Co tiniest driving over a Breidenstein and foes over because she never turned on her wipers. Horrid!

Worse of all is the lack of development for her love o Teresa. Book 1, the character was developed.

Lastly, she has a high schools diploma, liver disease, then loses weight while working at a bakery (smart choice). Homeless, working a minimum wage jobs, falls in love with a millionaire, does a 2 year bachelors degree program and becomes his CEO. YEAH, OK. I won’t be reading book 3

I loved this second book in the After series. It starts out with hold-on-to-your-seat action, and the story unfolds from these 2 characters who meet in a crisis. I love the faith encouragement throughout--our h. starts at her rock bottom lowest and rises up in healing, determination, confidence and success--an encouragement to all who need it. I just started reading After 3. An excellent series by one of my favorite authors!

Blossom Daniels almost drowned. It was a bad day. She'd lost her job. Then, she found herself in the chilly waters of the Potomac. Josh Miller had no intention of jumping into the cold waters to save a person. Yet, that's what he did, saving a person he'd never met. Blossom wanted to live. Wanted to lose weight.

Good read. Joy writes encouraging, action-packed books with interesting characters. This one was all of that. I enjoyed the read.

Wonderful story

Another inspiring story from Joy Ohagwu. I loved living the before, during and after for Blossom. If you like clean inspiring stories, I recommend After 2. And you do not have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one, but if possible you should read book 1, it's awesome too!

This one is different from Book 1. Blossom has a weight problem & tackles it in a different way than the first book. Josh has an issue in his life that he overcomes at the beginning. The relationship between Blossom & Josh is well developed. I think the story is very well written. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.

A truly great read

I enjoyed reading the second book in this series. My only problem is the statement that Blossom weighing 151 was a size 4. In my humble estimation that's a size 8-10. I know minor issue...but I'm just saying. I will now read book 3

Inspiring

Each novel have touched my life in various ways. Joy is blessed with an anointing to motivate and encourage others to seek God in every thing you need, desire, and pursue. Joy has been a blessing within every chapter that included scriptures. She is an inspiration.

Ms. Ohagwu creates characters that are very relatable...they have real-world problems. Its inspiring to read how the characters face their issues, learn from them and receive God's grace and mercy. She always includes good Biblical teaching without being too preachy.

Almost as good as the first!

Great opening and wonderful story, although it felt a little rushed. Knowing it was a sequel makes the story somewhat predictable, but knowing the goals did not decrease the joyful inspiration of said story.

Disappointed after reading book 1. I felt this story was hurried and had the same basic theme as the first book. Obese girl needs to lose weight, meets good-looking fantastic man. Not as strong a message as book 1 with an unbelievable ending.

Hard work

Heard work can produce unexpected results. I didn't see that coming. Blossom learn an important lesson: Set goals and don't let circumstances stop you.

After 2 by Joy Ohagwu is a novel about transformation, both spiritual and physical. It is the second in the series but can be read as a stand-alone.
Joy Ohagwu shows that no matter what we go through in life, God is always alongside us. We "can either see your situation through eyes of faith or through a heart of desperation." Blossom is a Christian but takes her eyes off God after receiving some upsetting news. The consequences could have been disastrous but God never takes His eyes off Blossom. God can use all situations for good and for growth.
In Blossom's potentially devastating moment she prays but she also bargains with God. The reader feels empathy for Blossom, as I am sure many of us have done the same. As a Christian we need to realise that we do not need to bargain with God as He always wants the best for us.
In After 2 Joy Ohagwu shows how man looks at the outward appearance, as Blossom states "the first thing people saw about me was fat." Fortunately God looks at our hearts. If our hearts are in the right place, then we are beautiful to God.
The novel demonstrates that when God is all we have, then we have all we need. In all situations and circumstances it is important to fix our eyes on God. As Pastor Brian says "it's the things that feel tough that help us grow." If life is smooth then we can often push God into the background but when life is tough, we need to face all our problems on our knees.
The story shows that great wealth does not equal a lack of problems. We can have all the money in the world but be held prisoner by a past traumatic event. God can use a near tragedy to free one from the prison of the past, if we just listen to God and obey His promptings.
I enjoyed After 2, it is a novel very much grounded in faith in God. Joy Ohagwu shows how important it is to always stay focussed on Jesus. Becoming a Christian is relatively easy, but staying a Christian with all of life's temptations and problems is far harder.

AFTER 2 is an inspirational book in many ways. When I review a book, I try to let you know how the book impacted me. This time the impact is deeply personal and difficult to express. I know that I have a plan to use what I learned from this story. I won't describe the story because that's the job of the book cover. What I learned is something that everyone can apply to their own life. Like a balloon, with a little bit of air (knowledge) we start to take shape, but when you add more air (Jesus in addition to knowledge), you can soar to great heights. That what this book makes me feel.

If you purchase this book, I would like to make a suggestion. Please purchase another copy for a Friend that may be struggling and perhaps a copy for your church library too. I believe this well-written book can benefit many.

Another great inspirational book by Joy! Blossom struggles with leaving everything in God's hands. But what happens when everything is out of her control and she has to trust God?

Circumstances put Josh in the right place at the right time to save Blossom's life. Both move out of their comfort zones to accomplish what God has set for them. This story is full of trust, hope, love, and showing God your gratitude, especially during the rough times. Then, God will show you His faithfulness to perform His promises. Check out this great book!

This book is second in the series. Reading the first one will be helpful, but is not required to enjoy this one.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

After 2

It is rare to find a story that has been touched by the hands of Jesus; After 2 is a story that speaks from His heart into the heart of His bride. The message in this story is TRUST, no matter what your circumstances look just trust the Lover of your soul. Everything looked bleak for Blossom, but just as Pastor Brian said “The issue is: we’re impatient. We want a solution now. But if you wait for God, He will show up at His right time.” We must wait and trust. This is one of the best books of 2015 and I highly recommend it.

"I almost drowned but then I lived." Is the beginning of Blossom's journey of transformation.
She, like Job of old, encountered many difficulties of life, persevered, and still praised The Lord.
Oh, to have that kind of faith.
Her story with Josh, their romance and journey was heartwarming.
"He lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them nobles and inherit a seat of honor" 1 Sam. 2:8 is an apt verse for this book.
After 2 can be read as a standalone, but reading After first, adds a depth to this book.

Joy Ohagwu writes with an exceptional ability to make you feel what the character is feeling. If you have ever been in a situation where you had to depend solely on God to see you through then you will empathize with Blossom in her troubles. This is a book that will make you want to dig a little deeper and just keep on going when you see how it all works out in the end. And of course the romance is sweet and adds to the story of Blossom's life.

You too, can reach your After!

Stretching up, looking up, never giving up! Everyone has an After to go for! Blossom Daniels shows us that adversity does come to Christians! We live in a fallen world. But God! "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me...."
Walk with Blossom through the pages of this book, and be encouraged!
