Aaron is an Australian author of children's books and artist who until the mid-2000s was also an actor. His award winning picture books include Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley, The Ghost of Miss Annabel Spoon and the best-selling Pig the Pug.
In the field of acting, he is probably best known for his lead roles in two television dramedies, 1994's The Damnation of Harvey McHugh, for which he won an Australian Film Institute Award, and 2003's CrashBurn, before retiring from performance in 2005.
This book is about new recruitment and how they are now trying to be good guys. I read it a few times because one may miss "context" if one is not reading along with the imagery, AND HONESTLY, the book got funnier each time. I think I was kind of lost as these characters already seemed comfortable with each other and it was a random classroom read I noticed the students reading, but overall good book.
I think that this type of graphic novel is great to use in the classroom because it shows students that reading can be silly and fun. I think that it could be used as a treat and if they have done what they are supposed to they could spend some time reading a funny story that they really enjoy.

A little spider asks to join a goodguys club, tired of being stigmatized. Thing is, this so-called "goodguys club" is filled with typically considered evil or feared characters and villains. Headed by The Wolf, he eventually instructs the spider with a lesson in balance and responsibility, that not all attitudes should be completely mean, and how the villainous type deals with misconceptions.
My advice: Do not try to be something you are not. Experiment in the process of evolution and self-knowledge.
Genre – Graphic Novel Grade Level – First thru Third Completed – February 2nd, 2019 Unique Feature – The same characters from The Bad Guys series, this graphic novel is a fun book for children to read and also an introduction to the genre of graphic novels. Follow along as these Bad Guys/Heroes try to save the day. If you would like to introduce your students to graphic novels and a series this is a nice book to use, and also to have handy in your classroom library.
I don't usually read graphic novels but the cover of this caught my eye in, Sam's. I bought the first three in the series. This morning I strarted reading vol 1. At first I thought, hmmm, not much going on here. But then I got to page 9 and the engine kicked into gear and we were off to the races! I haven't laughed so much reading a book EVER! The characters are hilarious and the dialogue brilliant. I SO hope the next two books in the series don't let me down.
This was a cheat for me to meet my goal for the year. Both my kids got this for free at school. Maybe a promotion from Scholastic for the newest book? Its mostly highlights of books 1-4 to get to know the style and characters.
This is a funny series, Agent Fox is teaching the bad guys to change their marketing and their image. But it was funny to see how they could mix up the ideas.
Short story that introduces Legs to the rest of the Bad Guys team. The book briefly summarizes their past adventures and offers tips on how to be a Bad Guy.
This book was a great read with my 9 year old son. We laughed at the funny images & it kept him entertained & engaged. A good read to read with a child.
We all know the spider gets a bad wrap for being bad, but have you ever stopped to consider that maybe they are trying to be good? Set in a group of bod guys doing good, with a wolf, shark, snake, and parana, this graphic novel has not won any awards. This book would be good to have in a classroom as a book for students to read to themselves.
