The Grimmer side of your favorite fairy tales, retold with humor and sinister surprises.Sinful CinderellaI'm not who they think I am. A docile girl who meekly obeys her stepmother and stepsisters. Some kind of sick angel who cheerfully bears their mistreatment. That's what I WANT them to think. Because then they won't suspect what I'm really up to.
The ball, the prince - it's all part of my plan to come out on top. Stepmother and her demented daughters will pay for every floor I have scoured, every sneer I have borne. They don't know about the white magic, how I use it to enhance myself. They can't see that my heart is black as midnight, rotten as a poisoned apple.
They're about to find out.
Sneaky Snow WhiteCinderella killed my father.
She thinks she can do anything because she’s the Evil Queen. And my stepmother. The only thing she truly loves is her Demon Mirror. But the more she gazes into that thing, the crazier she becomes.
But I am no longer a child. I won’t allow the Evil Queen to poison my heart and my home. Although my skin is white as snow, my soul is far from pure. I will make Cinderella suffer for her sins.
Sure as my name is Snow White.
Rotten RapunzelI have been in this tower for fifteen years. Snow White has frozen me inside it and covered the rest of our kingdom with ice and snow. I can't remember what summer is like. And I have never seen people or had a friend.
It's not fair. I'm a princess, the daughter of Cinderella. This kingdom belongs to ME. Not to the nasty new queen who's taken over. Snowy ruined my life, she doesn't care about me. She only keeps me because I cry magic tears.
I have to escape. Have to take back the palace before my lost twin gets it. Have to punish Snowy for wrecking the kingdom. Have to make at least ONE stupid friend. And I really have to do something about my hair.Bad BeautyThree years under a sleeping curse. Unbelievable. Woke up to a ruined kingdom, a ruined life. I know exactly who did this. And I will rip out her hair by the roots. Now I’ve got a horrible Beast to deal with. A nasty witch in the Wood. And a man who still won’t admit he loves me. If I’m to take back the kingdom, I will have to end the darkness, starting with the person who poisoned us Cinderella. She is NEVER coming back.I may be beautiful as a rose, but my thorns are deadly sharp.

What I actually read was The Dark Fairy Tale Queen Series four book set which isn't on here. It features four of the grumpiest, worst tempered, most power-hungry princesses, queens, and queen wannabes in the entire realm of fairy tale retellings. That said, it is also just about the most original take on these particular fairy tales that I have ever seen.
Though there are only four featured characters, it covers at least five different fairy tales, with hints of several more. These girls that you didn’t even know knew about each other are all family – and what a dysfunctional family it is!
There are several men that the different queens/ princesses fall for at various times. But it is confusing, because they start out hooking up with one of the girls, and later wind up with one of the others.
But curiously, for all that they seem to hate each other’s guts and are furiously competing for boyfriends, they also seem to love each other in their twisted ways.
I was so eager to read this book I would pick it up any chance I got it took over my life and I loved it! I was to captured by the story but completely disagreed with Hunters character it was just too weird. I love Nutty! I enjoyed how the book really shed light on generational sadness and spinning the wheel of revenge and hate over and over again. I'm sure some people will relate to this is a very real way.
These stories span several generations of princesses and queens as they deal with the repercussions of, and contribute to, a terrible curse laid on the kingdom. Beneath the artifice and glam outfits, Anita shows artfully how the world and unfortunate circumstances shaped these women into the bad apples that they are. Fairy tales were originally meant to scare children into behaving, and there are dark notes here as well. Matricide, loss of parents, child abduction, abuse and neglect; each of these princess’s histories incites sympathy in the reader.
These princesses are complicated messes; it’s not all their fault, but a lot of it is. For the nuanced writing of their backstories, the Dark Fairy Tale Queens Series definitely goes above and beyond its peers.
Every single character in this entire book was AWFUL and I loved it because of that. Usually the twists on fairytale retellings are expected and not much different from the original tales. These though? These were twisted and dark and messed up in the best of ways. There is not one likeable character in the bunch, which makes for great storytelling. I love the twists and cliffhangers and watching every single character ruin their lives more and more. Its sad in a way, especially with Cinderella's story, but at some point, even the villians cant rely on their sad beginnings.
This was an excellent rendering of old classic fairytails
I loved the books and read them in about 3 days. I didn't want to put my kindle down. Of course I was mad a few times, yelling don't do it however i like how everything turned out.. I say read it fig yourself you Silk not regret it.
I love new twists on fairytales. This one certainly filled that. What I liked best was how the characters were connected from one book to the next. The only downside for me was that sometimes the names of the characters were confusing.
Thoughly enjoyed the mixing of different fairy tales. Each character was nice and fleshed out and not just black and white. Lots of twists that i did not see coming.
I love fairytale retellings, and this is no exception. Yes, this book is full of pouty, whiny, self-absorbed princesses. However, it was so over-the-top that I found the tales to be truly entertaining short reads!
