I made an app matching people with their soulmates. Too bad it paired my childhood sweetheart with my worst enemy. She's the one who got away. The girl who should have been mine. When I was younger and seething with ambition, I let her slip through my fingers. Big mistake. Now I want her in my bed, writhing beneath me, my name burning her lips. When I win her back, I'll carry her to my bed, strip her down and finally savor a sweet seduction. She'll know I own her the moment I claim her tight, wet heat. Mismatch is a STAND-ALONE, full-length contemporary romance. There are no cliffhangers, and a happy ending is guaranteed!
I received this book from my own free will for an honest review.
I was in awe, liked it so much. Let's begin with the characters, I always love them they are so real and have so many problems that can happen to anyone anywhere. Ethan was crazy, a little paranoic but that made relate to him more. Lily was so sweet but strong at the same time, she was the best.
the plot was steady and left me wanting more of this story, it was the perfect balance between romance, drama and sensuality.
now we need a series so Chloe have her chance to get a happy ending.
I’m generally a fan of Lisa Lace but this story didn’t do it for me unfortunately. Ethan walked away without a backward glance from Lily when they were teenagers. He only comes back into her life many years later because of jealousy. He does not want his rival dating her, so he heads back to his home town to seek her out. If it wasn’t for this, he never would have come back at all, Lily or not. They fall into bed immediately and then he bails without a word again in a douche move. Ethan’s reasons for leaving are lame at best and Lily deserved better.

Ethan and Lily were teenage sweethearts. But that was before Ethan's mother died and his outlook on life changed. Left behind Lily did her best to get on with life and is slowly carving out a career in the art world. But she has kept tabs on her lost love and he is now a billionaire tech mogul!
Ethan is tired of his usual technological wonders and decided to create a dating app. He is attached to an odious golddigger, model wannabe and wants others to find their soulmate. But when his app matches Lily and his business rival, Ethan sees red and decides to put paid to Victor's courtship of Lily.
Lily doesn't want his money or his status and is a refreshing change for Ethan. She remembers him as he was and as they grow closer once again he realises what he has been missing. But all is not plain sailing, Ethan puts his foot in his mouth on several occasions and Lily does not take his deceptions well.
There are a couple of great secondary characters such as Ethan's assistant and Lily's best friend and enough happens to keep you interested.
I didn't love this as much as the authors PNR work but it was a fabulously well written and constructed story.
A self made billionaire has done it. He supposedly made a match making app that will match you with your soul mate. Ethan Steele is happy with what he did, now if only he could get his life in order and beat his old ex friend at his own game. Only its going to get a little personal soon. His app just matched his childhood sweetheart Lily, the girl he never forgot to his worst enemy. Can he get her back before damage is done?
Mismatch Kindle Edition by Lisa Lace I voluntarily read an ARC for review purposes
Normally, when I have the pleasure of reading one of Lisa Lace's books, it involves aliens and women being their mail order brides.
Mismatch is very different. A teenage romance lost. A computer program and algorithm that matches people and an evil business rival trying to keep the lovers apart.
Maybe it is because the hero, Ethan, has no gills, wings or other accessory, he is far more real and human. He isn't a pushy, caveman Alpha male who throws the woman over his shoulder and races off to his billion dollar penthouse. (Did I forget he is a billionaire whose brooding would give Bruce Wayne a run for his cowl?)
Lily is an artist, a dreamy artist who was the girl of his dreams since they were young children. But he left her No goodbye, no I'll be in Catmandu or anything. As an artistic type, she can't quite get over him and she can never bring herself to live her dreams of traveling the world without him. So she stays and paints, always aspiring to be an honest.
The plot is average for a sweet romance, but Lisa's talent makes it so much more. Her characters are real enough, especially the secondary characters, they could have gone to college with you or could be working in the office down the street. She also details the scenery just enough, you are there with the characters, but it never takes away from the story.
I did miss my alien heroes, but Ethan, with all his confusion, sadness and self-blame was a good enough placement.
Lisa Lace is truly one of the great romance talents out there today, and she has spread her wings into a full human romance.
This book is truly and effortlessly Book Nerd Approved
This was apart of another book I read by the author Exposed, sometimes I read the extra most of the time I don't, however, I keep going with this one. It was an ok book it was not really wonderful but it was not bad I could not like any of the characters fully.
Lily is an artist who for the last 7-10 years has not connected with another person because of her childhood love Ethan, a boy that the day after her graduation from high school takes off without so much as a thank you for the good time's letter. Lily is working on her art trying to make a life for herself but she is always held back by her love for Ethan it was frankly ridiculous. I understand soulmates and love forever but this was to the point of self-destruction for Lily. no man lived up to the 19-year boy she gave her heart to even all the years later this type of lead just rubs me wrong. I like strong female leads that take charge of their lives and do not depend on the emotions of another so while I liked parts of Lily overall I just could not connect with her. Ethan was not much better he time and time again treated Lily like she was nothing simply leaving her or making choices that affected her without a word to her, he was self-absorbed and disrespectful to not only Lily but his company. Honestly, the man just did what was best for him through the entire book, in the end, he redeems himself a bit and I get that he did half of it for love however if I worked with his company and my CEO pulled what he did I would have moved to the competition.
It honestly was not a bad book, it was just not a book where I felt good about the characters I liked the side characters more than the main ones.

This is kind of a simplistic, unbelievable story, but stranger things have happened! It's a fantasy🐲 to be sure.
I typically like a second chance romance but I really had a hard time with this romance. Lily was just too stuck in the past and after 11 years, needed to move on. I guess the biggest thing that turned me off to their second chance is that Ethan did not voluntarily reconnect with Lily.
Ethan only went back to "save" Lily and only ends up hurting her time and time again. Yeah, I get that he made a big sacrifice for her but if it was me, and it seemed like Lily was says the same thing - I would want to know what was going on and be a part of the decision made. Lily really deserved to let Vincent have it and Ethan robbed her of that.
It was kind of a quick change of thinking for Lily- she keeps telling Ethan she could not leave Payton and live in New York City but then she does a 360 and leaves her home for Ethan at the end. I guess I didn't think some of her concerns were really resolved before she left so she didn't know if her fears of being stuck in the penthouse while Ethan worked long hours would be a reality. I guess she just had to take a chance after Ethan sent her that package.
I also get very annoyed with these weak woman that as soon as their former love shows up, they immediately try to reconnect and end up in bed. Make them work for it!!
Overall, it was entertaining and I did like the epilogue that wrapped things up - I really wanted to know what happened with the defense contract!
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book since I don't really like billionaire books but this one was awesome!! Lisa Lace really did a great job portraying the characters and keeping me invested in the story.
Ethan and Lily were high school sweethearts with big dreams but right after graduation, Ethan leaves without saying anything. Lily never really moved on and got over it and it kind of stalls her painting dreams. She's still painting but her big plans were made with Ethan.
Ethan invents a dating app that matches people together. Lily hears about it and decides to give it a try and it matches her with Ethan's business rival. Ethan isn't going to stand for that so he goes back home......
This book follows Ethan and Lily on their second chance love story and everything that gets in their way. I laughed, cried, and even yelled at my kindle a few times. This was such a sweet second chance story and I really loved it.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Ethan had a security app company in New York. Lily lived in a small town in Arizona. Ethan and Lily were friends and sweethearts after high school he just upped and left leaving Lily behind Ethan's company put out a new dating app matching people call Destiny.
Vincent is Ethan's nemesis and competitor. Vincent uses Destiny and puts the name of the city for his match. It just so happens that Lily's name came up as a match. Vincent knew about Lily so he decided to play a game just to get to back at Ethan and take something that he wanted from him. Ethan goes to warn Lily about Vincent but she is pissed at him for leaving her.
There is so many things that happen in this book and I don't want to give them away. Let's just say this is a fast paced book just when you think you have things figured out there is another twist.
This is my first book with this author and I was impressed.
Getting use to this authors contemporary books is taking me a moment to enjoy them as I am use to a parnormal/alien writings.
Once I started this book the story line did hold my attention till I finished it in one setting. I will own that I probably would have enjoyed this book more if it had been "clean". Do not get me wrong it was not overly graphic it just that the "juicy bits" did not hold my interest as I was enjoying the "story"and the other for me was a distraction not an enhancement.
I do try to be honest in my review of a book as to what I liked or did not like in this case.
I have voluntarily read and review this book without obligation to do so.
For some reason this book has really affected me. I finished it a few days ago and it has just stuck with me. I keep thinking about the characters and everything they went through and smile. I don't know if it reminds me of my first love or what, but it definitely has just been on my mind. I have read a lot of Ms. Lace's books and most have been "alien" in nature. This I think is the first contemporary romance book of hers that I've read and I am impressed. It is not often that a book will stay with me like this one has. In my opinion she has hit the ball out of the park with Mismatch. I look forward to reading more contemporary romances by Lisa Lace!
I loved this story!! I usually love Ms. Lace's terrific SCIFI stories and she definitely doesn't lose any of her storytelling ability placing the action on the Earth and with all humans...accept maybe Vincent and he is a slime! This second chance story will pull at your heart strings! You will find yourself hollering at Ethan to move his butt before Lily is taken in by Vincent's "I'm your perfect match" garbage and screaming at Lily not to fall for the wrong man! This story will make you grind your teeth, cheer in excitement and turn up the air conditioner! Just a great romance!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
This isn't just a billionaire romance, it is a second chance romance as well. I love the idea of an app being able to pick out your perfect match. I like the angle of neither of them being able to forget the other. It was easy for me to relate to Lily, with her pain of loss and with her ability to finally move on. There is a lot of drama and buried anger in this book, and watching the characters work through that so they could have their HEA was enjoyable. If you have read this author's sci-fi romances, and loved them, then I know you will love this one.
Cheesy sweet second chance. It did hold my attention enough to get thru the book & not be mad at wasting time on it. I didn't really like Lily & Ethan very much and they kind of felt a bit 1 dimensional. I didn't feel that Ethan would have ever gone back to Lily if his enemy, Vincent, hadn't pulled that trick with the Destiny match. That bothered me a lot for some reason. So many things they both did, just didn't make sense, which pulled me out of the story. There weren't enough details to pull the story together either. The ending felt rushed & too easy for Ethan.
Ethan and Lily were sweethearts and they reunite years later through Ethan app called destiny. Lily gets matched with his enemy and he realises he still loves her. I won't spoil it for, you will have to buy the book. It’s a hot read and not to be missed. Lisa is an excellent author and her books keep you gripped. Read all the way to the end it’s worth it! I was given this book as an arc for a honest review
This was a sweet second chance romance. Not Lace's usual work but she's still damned good at writing. I loved Ethan, the self made billionaire who can't find the right words to say to the woman he loves. I had a hard time liking Lily in any compasity. For being such a "free spirit" she was very close-minded and a bit dense when it came to men. With that being said I still loved the story and Lily and Ethan's past.
Ethan is a billionaire no but ten years ago he was just a kid in love with his high school sweetheart. He had a big choice to make that would affect the rest of his life. Ten years later and Lily hasn't got over Ethan completely but she is willing to try to move on. Lily has certain dreams and she intends to be true to herself. This is a great love story. I love the way Lisa Lace brings thing together. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.
This is a second chance best friend to lovers type book. I loved Ethen and his determination to win Lily back. I have to say, I understand where Lily was coming from when it came to being hurt, but she really over stepped a few times. It made her hard to love for me. There was tons of drama, but at the same time it had that light hearted feel to it. It was a decent read all around even with my issues with Lily. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! Ethan invented a dating app. The app matched his childhood sweetheart, Lily, with his arch-enemy, Vincent. Should Ethan interfere ? Heck yeah! No way will Vincent get any where near Lily. Now, sit back, relax + enjoy the show. You will love this book!
I think I have read almost everything this author has written in her paranormal/alien books and I loved those, so I figured it would not hurt giving her contemporary book a chance. I am glad I did because the story line grabbed a hold of my attention till I finished it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher
Can you truly find your "destiny" from an app? Ethan's new business venture says yes. After 11 years Lily is finally ready to move past her lost love Ethan. When his app matches Emily with his vengeful rival, will Ethan stand by and accept it or fight for his "destiny"?
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This book is a sweet second chance at love romance story. The story offers characters that will have you relate to what they are going through. What are would you do to find love?
Note: Don't go into this story expecting it to be like Lisa Lace's other works. It isn't like any that she has written that I personally have read.
A dating app that will match you to your one true soul mate, an ex love turned billionaire, a nemesis and an aspiring painter who never got over her first love, mix it all together and you have Destiny in the making! I really loved this book. It was one of my favorite Lisa Lace stories! It has a bit of everything and keeps you guessing!
This is a second chance book that has one fantastic story line to it that just keeps you glued to the pages of the book. It will tug quite a few different emotions from you. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Cute short story. A Billionaire makes an app that matches up people, but it matched up His childhood sweetheart with someone else. Nice idea for a story.
I really enjoyed this book. This is different from what I normally read. It covered each brother. The characters were great and the story line was good.
