Overall, good quick read on posture, the negative effects of sitting and a sedentary lifestyle, and the ways we can combat it. The author provides 10 daily exercises that we can incorporate into our fitness routine to help stretch and restore posture. I'll list the 10 exercises here for reference.
The main 2 takeaways from this one: 1) Breathing proper deep breaths is vital to our health and a powerful way to realign ourselves 2) If sitting at a desk job, it is so important to get up every hour, stretch it out and walk around, even for just a few minutes. As someone who works in an office or at home from a laptop, this is wise advice, that I will more purposefully incorporate into my life.
Upper body stretches: Neck stretch, Upper Body Nerve Glide, Chest Opener Stretch, Shoulder Reset Stretch, Shoulders + Mid Back Stretch
Lower body stretches: Piriformis Stretch, Hip + Quad Stretch, Hamstring + Low Back Stretch, Seated Spine Stretch, Calf + Lower Leg Stretch
I feel like I've been sitting too much and it's been affecting my health, so I downloaded this book on Kindle Unlimited. I think it did a good job of motivating me to stand, move, and stretch more during my days. The agenda it sets out is actionable and reasonable.
The book points out the obvious fact we all know, deep down. Sitting too much is a very bad thing to do. Presents good activities to mitigate some of the effects.
I like how simple the problems and solutions are. Out was a quick and powerful read that everyone should take the time to do, as it could really impact your life for the better.
