This is a sweet OK story. There is a bit of Christian aspect on the story. Michelle is a single mom at her wit ends. She struggle raising her daughter and in desperate need of financial support. Fate brings her to David. A strong, loving hero at animal shelter. David who is quite taken with her and Claire, pursues the relationship.

Both David and Michelle has emotional baggage from their past. In the story of typical romance, they both find healing and acceptance in each other. I feel the story and the plot is flat. There is not much twist/ drama/ angst to build the climax. The character chemistry is also monotone. There is insta lust.

Overall this is OK read for me.

3.5 stars for the Hero.

I'm sucker for damsel in distress books and I think everyone knows this but only if the heroine becomes strong instead of staying weak and this heroine stayed weak IMO.
I felt like she kinda took advantage of the poor hero, who was very sweet and one who had his own demons to battle but he was awesome with her and her daughter.

The heroine just gotten together with the hero and she had problems with money, I mean if she had problems with money why didn't she looked for a better job? Why stay at a job where her mother was her boss and couldn't pay her like she was supposed to pay her? She has a daughter to take care if that were me I wouldn't have stayed in that job I would have find something better to support my kid but hey that just me.

Oops I went on a tangent. Lol

Anyway she just gotten together with the hero he knew she had money problems so he gave her money and she took it, where's the woman who didn't need anyone to help her? Who didn't want any hand outs.? That's right nowhere in sight!!
He also got her a cell phone, moved her and her daughter in. She was also complaining about her job, she didn't want to work anymore and was happy when hero told her that she didn't need to work.
This heroine was a poor excuse of a woman..

The only good things about this book was..
Sweet kid
Sweet protective Hero
Rescued animals.
Hero's parents.
And heroine's mother and friends.

This was nice easy read overall. I'm sucker for damsel in distress books, but I like some growth when it comes to the heroine, and I didn’t feel that occurred with Michelle, even after almost dying she needed David and/or her friends to push her to make decisions about

Also after leaving her a-hole of a ex, Michelle is finding it hard to survive, she’s finding it hard to take care of her daughter due to financial constraints, and without being heartless, I don’t know why she stayed working somewhere she hated (her mum’s dance studio), when her mum could barely afford to pay her – surely her mum would have understood her needing to get a job that paid/paid on time. Michelle needed more fire and confidence as a woman and as a mother.

David was sweet and Michelle’s daughter cute, I wish there had been more interactions between the two.

There was a certain level of charm missing from this book, which means it hasn’t left a lasting impression on me, it hasn’t left me with a warm cosy feeling, as previous books based on a similar premise have.

Abby Brooks sends us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions in Inevitably You.

This wonderfully written story grabbed me from the very first sentence. I was reading and turning pages as fast as I could to find out how this heartwrenching story would end.

The story of Michelle and David has everything a good book should have... including humor, suspense, heartbreak, loss, hope, love, sex, and most importantly... the happily ever after.

Inevitably You by Abby Brooks is full of feeling, full of heart breaking emotion and strength and oozes passion and intensity in bucket loads.

Abby sure knows how to take her readers on a journey and show how her characters rise. Their happily ever after is given and while not easy sometimes the way we get there is unforgettable.

The two characters in Inevitably You stole my heart. And in awe at Abby, her skill, her patience and her deliverance.

While reading this book I realized that Michelle could have been a woman like me or like any other woman because sometimes there comes a time in life that bad things happen and we are not always prepared to take them on. So, this woman has tried to do what was best, pleasing others without thinking about her well being and she really messes things up. But from this mess there came along a sweet daughter one of her most precious things and she struggles to give her the best out of life. With great dignity and pride Michelle will go on facing, with all her fears, of what's to come and fate once again knocks on her door but with a redemption from all the ugly things she had to endure. Mr. Wonderful will be her knight in shining armor the only one that will prove to her that life is worth living . I wrote this review trying not to leave any spoiler but at the same time I wanted to give a different imprint with my point of view. This book is absolutely special and beyond being a beautiful romance, it is also full of significance. It is for everyone to read because it is a celebration of all of us women, a proof that in life there is always a second chance even if one may think that there is no way to patch things up.

Reading this story from the beginning I didn't want to put it down but then life got in the way but when I finally got to the end their was tears and laughter! We all have crazy x's and the main character Michelle has one but than she escapes him and runs into a old friends brother and it might be love at first sight but we all know no one is too perfect, will he might be her happy ending for her and her daughter! This is a one click for sure and I loved reading this book!!!

After reading the author’s brief bio on her website I get the impression that perhaps she wrote a lot of herself into the heroine in this book Michelle. Like Brooks our heroine Michelle is a divorced single mom convinced love doesn’t really exist until she meets David Carmichael the love of her life who like Brooks describes her own husband is both strong enough to lean on but also gentle.
Michelle was a secondary character in the first book in Wounded, the first book in the Brookside series as a new friend to that story’s heroine Baily Schultz whom she meets through Lexi another single mom she met and befriended at a single moms group meeting. Lexi who has been Bailey’s BFF since childhood introduces Michelle to Bailey and we readers at the same time and the three women become close friends. Lexi had a much larger presence in Wounded than Michelle had so I was surprised that Brooks decided to write Michelle’s book before Lexis. We quickly learn that not only is Michelle a divorced single-mom of 5-year-old Claire, but that she’s financially destitute. As the story opens she and Claire are struggling to carry groceries home because she wanted to save what gas she had left in her car. When they arrive home she discovers the water authority has turned off her water because she’s late paying the bill. Because she couldn’t’ afford a lawyer and was desperate to get away from her psychotic, verbally abusive ex-husband Russell she downloaded divorce papers off the internet and agreed to his demands she shouldn’t have just to get the divorce finalized. She ended up agreeing to take on the debt Russell had piled up and not ask for child support. She works as a dance instructor at her mother’s dance studio where she often doesn’t get paid as the two of them struggle to make a go of a business in a small town. We also learn that Michelle is very private and proud and doesn’t reveal her dire financial situation even to her best friends Lexi and Bailey. She blames her poor choices for the situation she is. Rather than complain she keeps putting a smile on her face and tries to keep putting one foot in front of the other hoping to one day get ahead on her bills and give Claire the sort of life she deserves. In her financial struggles and insistence on doing everything for herself she’s not unlike Bailey Schultz was in her story.
David Carmichael our male lead is a kind man with a difficult past. Like Michelle he had a bad first marriage. Something terrible happened during the marriage that the author keeps alluding to mentioning a child named Maggie but it isn’t until well into the book that we get the whole story about David and his first wife and Maggie. David is a third generation farmer who has taken over running his family’s prosperous Carmichael Farms with his younger brother Colton who is featured in the fourth book in this series. Ironically, Michelle had been good friends with David’s younger sister Sarah when she was in second grade and had visited Carmichael Farms a few times and thought it was the most magical, beautiful place on earth. Oddly Sarah has practically no presence in this story even after Michelle and David become a couple living on the farm. David doesn’t remember Michelle but she certainly remembers him.
David meets Michelle and Claire when they’re all visiting the local animal shelter. They both feel a spark but neither acts upon it. Then they meet again at a coffee shop where David asks Michelle out. Because of her circumstances Michelle is inclined to reject David’s offer of a date but she doesn’t. Within hours of their fist date Michelle realizes she is so attracted to David she’d have sex with him that night even though she’s never had a satisfying sexual experience. Something about the handsome, kind farmer calls to her body. But they don’t have sex that night. They do on their second date when David gives Michelle her first orgasm. After that night Michelle feeling like David doesn’t deserve the drama her financial situation and her ex-husband would bring into David’s life tries to back away from him. But again they run into each other on a chance meeting and as David tells her the universe is obviously telling them their coupledom is inevitable. Things move really fast in their relationship from this point on. When Michelle returns to her home to discover its been broken into and ransacked (presumably by her ex but they can’t prove it) David insists Michelle and Claire move in with him until a new secure door can be put in place and her ravaged home put back together. But as Michelle and Claire blend seamlessly and happily into life at Carmichael Farms it becomes clear they’re not going to be going back to their rundown home. Of course the course of true love is not smooth. Michelle and David need to overcome the baggage of their first marriages as well as dealing with Russell, Michelle’s ex-husband who decides to reappear in their lives after disappearing for seven months after the divorce is final.
I thought this was a really good story worthy of 4 stars if not 5. Like all the other Brooks books I’ve read the lead characters had depth. I was glad to see the author included Lexi and Bailey and Liam from the first book in the series in this story. David’s parents and brother were great characters giving us those happy family feels. Unlike a lot of romance characters who blame themselves for things beyond their control, I really had to agree with Michelle that her decisions had been the main driver putting her in the position she was in. Choosing to go out with, sleep with and then marry Russell whom she barely liked and didn’t love were huge mistakes. Acquiescing to all of Russell’s demands for a divorce that left her with his bills and no child support while granting him visitation rights was equally as bad a decision. Continuing to work at her mother’s dance studio at a job that she not only didn’t enjoy but that didn’t even guarantee a steady paycheck was another big mistake. She may not have felt qualified to do anything else but even a low skill minimum wage job would have been better than working for nothing. About the only thing I can’t fault Michelle for that everyone else seemed to criticize her for was not revealing her financial situation to her friends or at first to David until he’d pretty much already figured them out. With no idea how she could ever pay them back why would she look to them for financial help? Why reveal her issues just to see the pity in their eyes? And honestly while I know Bailey’s situation had been somewhat similar to Michelle’s, I really didn’t get the point of her lecture to Michelle. To me it was David who was the real hero in this story. He didn’t allow the demons from his past or the anxiety they caused him to paralyze him or turn away from Michelle when things got tough. His love for her always over ruled his fears and allowed him to be the man she needed.

Michelle is a single mother to her daughter Claire who is the one thing that she doesn’t regret about her relationship with her abusive ex. She struggles to make ends meet but living with no money is better than living with her ex.

David has decided that love or relationships are not for him after the destruction of his last relationship.

They meet in an animal shelter and they feel a connection but will two damaged souls be willing to take another chance on life?

No one can write about characters that make you feel as deeply as Abby Brooks. You feel like you are part of their lives and you are emotionally invested in their story. This is a wonderful story that you don’t want to miss. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book

Beautiful heartwarming story of overcoming your past and finally finding happiness. Michelle has had nothing but problems in her life. Whether it be lack of money, problem with her ex husband or trying to show her daughter that they can survive, her back is always against the wall. David has also had his share of misfortune and thoughts that he would never find happiness. When the two characters come together sparks fly instantly and even though they have to deal with even more twists and turns, their true love wins. This is an awesome book about soulmates. It was an emotional read that I highly recommend.

This book left me with so many conflicting emotions. Michelle is in such a tough position in life, and is working hard to change her situation, to provide something better than just an existence for her young daughter, Claire. She keeps running into the same man, David, over and over again in their small town, and even though she's reluctant to expose anyone (not even her girlfriends) to the drama in her life courtesy of her ex-husband, Michelle eventually accepts that David has been put in her path for a reason and agrees to go out with him.

Michelle's situation is so relatable. Yes, there are things she could be doing differently to change her situation faster, but the rabbit hole she's clawing her way out of is just something that you, me, any one of us could easily fall into when one bad decision spirals into out-of-control chaos.

David, meanwhile, has his own cross to bear, and it's heartbreaking. His life is proof positive that not everything is as it appears. But together, David and Michelle click, balance each other out, and complement one another in the very best of ways.

Back to those conflicting emotions. Inevitably You is a heartwarming story of how two people go from merely survival, existing, to learning to live and love again. Michelle is a damsel in distress, David is the wounded hero who comes to her rescue, and Claire Bear is the adorable moppet that brings them together.

Do you believe in universe/fate trying to tell you something?   Well for David and Michelle  the universe could not get any clearer!!!! This is a heartfelt story from tears to happiness.

Michelle, a single mom struggling to support herself and her daughter as a dance teacher. Some months go by with no paychecks but she is determined to give her daughter the best she can and away from her ex that is no good.

David is trying to get his life back together after a horrible accident.  Producing the town with his farm products, he is content. However, when he comes across Michelle, he realizes he has never felt more right than when he's in her presence.

Fate steps in and keeps putting David and Michelle in each others path until they can't ignore it anymore. Their each personal life lessons of struggles, ultimate heartbreak, pulling yourself up and letting go for acceptance... are meant to teach us that everyone can love again. Many women readers might see themselves in Michelle, Ms. Brooks wrote a fantastic novel that captured and drew in her readers with an enriching story line and heart felt emotions. Well done Ms. Brooks... Well Done!

Abby Brooks took me on a sweet, sad and sometimes angry roller coaster ride with this book.

This was without a doubt one of the most heart wrenching books I have ever read.
So much of it brought memories of the mistakes I have made in my life but pulled myself up by the boot strings and overcame the obstacles in my life to make a brighter future for myself. I am sure lots of women can relate in the same way to this book. I think maybe lots of us have a Russell in our past.

Michelle and David both have secrets in the early stages of their relationship or should I say they have demons. Will these demons keep them from the HEA they both deserve?

I enjoyed this book so very much and simply didn't want to put it down once I started reading but life has a way of delaying the things we simply want so I got up on Saturday morning, did what little shopping I needed to do, picked up a cup of my favorite coffee, McDonald's with a shot of espresso and extra cream,(most prefer Starbuck's but I'm a McCafe girl) took my favorite folding chair to the park and spent the early afternoon in this fantastic book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and rated it an absolute 5 star book because I feel it deserves them and highly recommend this book and author.

Michelle, the master of jumping life's hurdles and ducking the blows of disappointment, has been doing the best she can with what she has. With her abusive ex-gone, she and her daughter Claire live well below their means- Michelle is a sweet, caring woman, who does for everyone else, but not herself.
David has seen his share of devastation. He has sworn off relationships after the emotional tidal wave state his ex-left him in. He does not feel capable of that kind of love ever again. David is a sexy, protective to a fault, alpha, who does not understand the word no.
When Michelle and David meet at a local animal shelter, the sparks and connection are immediate and electrifying.
Fate is about to put these two lost, broken souls together; it will be up to them to make the right choices as to what to do about it.
I. Loved. This. Book. So it is a love story first and foremost- but it also has these wonderful life lessons intertwined in the storyline that even I need a little reminding of from time to time.
I could not stop reading this book! Romantic, emotionally charged, the characters are relatable, so funny and sweet- mixed with the angst, suspensefulness and the fan your face hotness between David And Michelle I had no interest in putting my kindle down until I knew how this ended. IMO Abby Brooks has written another 5 Star read that I would highly recommend to others!
**P.S** Seriously though David SIGH. that man is going to the BBF List!

Inevitably You...Abby Brooks

This is the second book of Abby's that I have read & although I must say I enjoyed her book Wounded more, this one is still pretty good.
Michelle is a struggling single mother due to the circumstantial fallout of some really questionable decisions. It took quite a drastic event to happen before she decided that enough was enough & left her situation to try & give her daughter a better life.
David has been plagued by the circumstances that played out in his previous marriage & doesn't seem to want too much responsibility when it comes to relationships.
Michelle & David have an immediate response to each other on their meeting and although they both have reservations, embark on a sweet but passionate journey to a hopeful HEA.
Abby has packed in a pretty heavy backstory to these characters but their coupling brings out an inner strength in both of them that they possibly didn't think they possessed.
David's alpha protective tendencies emerge with heartwarming effect & Michelle begins her journey towards self enlightenment as a result of his encouragement.
Altogether a good little story...4stars

You May Say That She's a Dreamer

A dance teacher in a small town meets a local farmer, and they are drawn to each other in spite of the massive baggage they each carry. David is steady, kind, and though riddled with the sort of anxiety that the harsh truths of life can levy, he's "enough-" to meet Michelle where she is, to deal with his, and her demons, and to step into his destiny as a man. Michelle isn't strong, but she isn't weak, either- she's in chrysalis, needing time and space to bake, but with the raw materials in place.

As much as I understand the situations keeping Michelle stuck, I thought her team was weaker than she deserved, and I really, really wish Michelle's family was more a part of the story. Other than that, the quieter nature of this book, in spite of the dramatic moments, left me a bit underwhelmed. I didn't need Thursday-night television, but wanted about 15-25%...more, from the plot.

When I first started reading this book, I thought to myself, "great, another damsel in distress (as I have read quite a bit about this lately)." Well Abby had proven me wrong!
Michelle is a single mother of Claire who has been struggling for years to make ends meet after divorcing the devil of a man, Russell. A former ballet performer, Michelle now works at her mothers studio in a small town, sometimes getting a paycheck.
While moseying around town, she keeps running into David Carmichael, a handsome man who she is quite attracted to. David, feeling the same way, asks her out and from there a relationship blossoms.
What Michelle doesn't know is that David has demons he has been dealing with and her, her crazy ex Russell. Will their relationship beat the odds? Will Michelle be able to let go and be happy?

The book is a fast read. The thing I wanted more of was excitement! I didn't feel many emotions while reading this, though I felt attached to "Little Monster" Claire.

Every month I try to check out at least one new-to-me author and this month I decided to check out Abby Brooks and I am certain that it won't be my last.

Do you believe in fate? Well, this book will most definitely make you wonder and maybe even turn you into a believer. From the very beginning of this story Abby hooked me in and I immediately fell in love with Michelle and her daughter. Then I got to meet David and I swooned big time. He seemed perfect for Michelle and I couldn't help but hope that things would work out for these two to be together. This book tugged on my heart, made me fall in love and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. In my opinion is the perfect recipe for a great book.

Check out this book and find out if fate can out weigh the weight of the past.

If you're a fan of Nicholas Sparks... Then you'll enjoy reading this author as much as I do. Emotionally engaging, the story deals with realife issues of love, loss, hardships, and reality. It's not easy overcoming and moving beyond being a doormat concerning others. And being domineered over and used in a relationship. It can take years before you get enough backbone to make the move to get out of an unhealthy relationship. But the hero and heroine did just that: they put their past relationship mistakes behind them and moved forward, convinced to never allow love back in, yet unable to keep it out when they find it with one another.

Time well spent reading Inevitably You. I received an advance reader copy in return for my honest review and I'm already looking forward to reading this author's next novel.

I was hoping the second book was about Lexie but it was about Michelle and David and didn't disappoint. we don't know much about Michelle in Bailey's book, but so glad it was about her. a struggling single mom, with a crazy ex who meets a Prince from her past. they both have their scars. the both were hurt at the hands of their ex's. it is a really sweet story. so glad she gets her happily ever after. she really did the best she could to give her daughter something decent even though times were very hard, she was surviving, barely, not living until David. Michelle and Claire coming into his life also brought life to what he thought was a good life. be thought he was moving on but her realized he was not truly living until the girls filled his life. can't wait for Lexie's story next. great series. I hope it's with Colton..lol

Michelle is a ballerina that had to give up dancing due to an injury. She returns home to work with her mother teaching dance classes. The studio doesn't make enough money for both her and her mother. So struggling with finances is her biggest trial. David is a good guy with a heart of gold and a head filled with painful memories. He has promised himself to never again be vulnerable, never to love again. That worked well for him until he met Michelle. It's a great story that illustrates the evolution of both Michelle & David as they struggle to deal with their growing feelings for each other and face the troubles that Michelle's ex husband brings into their lives. Loved this book by Abby Brooks. Inevitably You grabs you from the very first line. Michelle is a single mother to a 5 year old daughter who has escaped her abusive marriage, struggling financially just to get by. She meets David, a local farmer, who also has also overcome a tragic past. The instant he sees Michelle and her daughter he is drawn to them. As their relationship develops and he finds out more about her and her situation, he steps in to help her - saying and doing all the right things, helping her understand that she doesn't have to go it alone - that she can rely on her friends and him to be there for her. The story is both heart-wrenching and heart-warming; once I started reading, I couldn't put it down till I reached the end.

Sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places.

When I meet David Carmichael it's as if the universe offered him as an apology for my life up to this point.

With his protective arm around me, he promises to keep me safe from the demons of my not-so-distant past.

But David has demons of his own … and even if meeting him felt like destiny, maybe karma isn't so cut and dry.

Bad things happen to good people every day … and everyone is hiding something.

A house of cards will inevitably fall … I just hope the one we've built won't end up in flames.

WOW!! Loved this book! Loved David & Michelle's story! It was flawlessly written!

Great Read

Another great book by Abby Brooks! Inevitable You is a heartwarming, emotionally charged book that will have you crying, laughing and bitterly angry at times. Michelle is a very sweet caring woman. The type that puts her needs and wants behind everyone else. David is the very sexy protective alpha male. Ms. Brooks writes this book in such a manner that the story just flows making the characters very relatable. I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is a great romance story with life lessons woven in and a HEA!! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Considering I was one of 'those women' that heard the clicking of her husband's gun and knew to get out now, I was not sure about getting past the beginning of this book BUT I believed in Ms Brooks so I continued. AND I am so happy I did. Like me she found a man to hug all the pieces of her brokenness and made her whole again. This was such a good book as they fought the crazy ex and in turn their love turned into so much more. This is a much needed book for every broken women to give them hope.
I got a kick out of some of the sayings in this book---hella good---my grandsons favorite saying> haha Think Ms Brooks lived around me. hahaha
Such an enjoyable read!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

Well geez this book started off with bang and kept going from there. Michelle is a strong single mom who is struggling to make ends meet but refuses to be a burdened to anyone. David is a farmer with a very tragic past who is trying to move on with his life. Now these two have to be the cutest characters I have ever come across and yet they both managed to frustrate me at times. I was not a fan of Russell and they way he treated Michelle and Claire was so disgusting. I wanted to shake Michelle at times for being so stubborn then hug her because man-oh-man did that girl need it.

Now we just need Lexi to get her own book...

I loved this book!!! It was filled with heartbreak and hope!

I was hooked in from the first page. Michelle had her daughter Claire and was happy enough. She didn't realize what she was missing until she met David.

Words can't describe how much I loved David!! Like seriously I can't describe how much I loved not only his gestures, but also his words.

Abby Brooks has such a great writing style that makes the reader feel along with the characters. I love that as a reader that I got to feel the pain, love, and joy of these characters.

***I received an ARC from the author. I reviewed this book voluntarily.***
