In the French Caribbean, there is an island protected by a bountiful reef. Its sandy beach is pristine, and its shallow lagoon’s waters are warm and welcoming. It’s known to but a few, and only the greedy will give up its location.
Sabine and the Callen brothers, fresh from a disappointing trip to Guadeloupe, in search of the George Wall Pirate treasure, travel to the island to follow up on a clue buried in the maritime records. The moment their luxury sport yacht anchors, Sabine is overwhelmed with a sense of evil.
The Martins are looking forward to enjoying a few childfree days when Sabine calls Mia. She needs advice. Mia hears the panic in Sabine’s voice and seeks out answers. But the more she looks into the problem, the more it becomes apparent that Sabine is in mortal danger if she stays where she is.
Mia and Ted put together a small team to go extract Sabine and convince the Callens to leave the island. But they arrive too late, and now, not only is Sabine in danger, but so is the whole human race.
Set sail with Mia, Murphy, and PEEPs as they set out to fight what has “Risen” in the French Caribbean. “Risen” is the 22nd book of “The Haunted Series.”
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
This is my 22nd book of the "Haunted Series." I really loved writing this book. It was very difficult for me to leave the "Haunted World" after I had finished the first draft. I heard my characters in my head and saw new adventures involving the GSD. What's the GSD? Well open the book and begin reading. Hugs! Alexie Aaron
I'm kind of bummed that I finished this book. The author mentioned that she thought this book was her favorite. It is mine. I really liked them going to Mackinac Island! That is a favorite place of mine! If you have been reading the series, you will love this one!!
I love the way everyone grows in these books. They are who they are ,but each one continues to grow and mature a little with each story. I never want to read an end to the Peeps. Please keep them coming. I have never enjoyed a series so much. I can’t wait for the end to each one,but at the same time,I don’t want it to end ever.
I look forward to each and every time one of the PEEPS books come out. Any reader who hasn't taken the time to get acquainted with this loving group of people, friends, and family is losing out on a great story.
This is the greatest series but you do need to read them in order. I feel like the characters are a family that I can't wait to hear from and wait impatiently for the next book.
This one tied up a myriad of loose ends very nicely, but also infused several future (hopefully) new ones. I liked that Mia was able to renegotiate several sticky relationships that I felt needed final resolutions.
The author is a fabulous story teller. I consider her to be one of the best authors of all the books that I have ever read; and I have read thousands of them.
The next chapter in the story of Mia, Ted et al. Alexie Aaron manages to take the reader to places you could never imagine, and these books are exciting, different and entertaining- I just love them.
