The Beauty Sharp teeth and claws don't scare Belle. What does? The man in her village who won't take no for an answer. So when a monster in the woods imprisons her father, Belle is easily convinced to take his place. Things at the castle aren't exactly the fairy tale she thought they would be, including disgruntled servants who are less than happy that she's there, naughty library books that magically appear in her room, and a vengeful enchantress determined to finish the job she started.
The Beast It's been a decade since he was cursed, unable to leave the castle, but his servants can come and go as they like. Even if they aren't exactly themselves anymore. And worse? It's all his fault – his foolish decisions that cost them their humanity, his family their lives and his kingdom its ruler. So when a beautiful girl falls into his lap, he does his best to scare her away, no matter how bad it makes him look. Why? Because he knows that whoever did this isn't done yet, and there are more dangers in his corner of the woods than Belle knows.
When worst comes to worst, and it looks like they're about to lose everything, can Belle and her Beast learn to trust each other enough to find their happily ever after?
This book in one sentence: Adult retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast fairytale. My rating: ⭐⭐ Steaminess: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 1/2 Would I recommend: Not really. There are so many other Beauty and the Beast retellings that are more original and interesting that I would rather recommend. Despite some of the R-rated content, this story is heavily inspired by the Disney movie and only really finds it's own voice in the fourth installment. Tropes: enemies-to-lovers
Excellent B&B Retelling in miniseries format! The first four books in Nikki Dean's Frisky Fairy Tales is an excellent way to absorb an adult version of Beauty and the Beast. Each book is a novella and easily digestable in around 100 pages, which is really the best way to tell this fairy tale the right way without overwhelming the reader. If you love fairy tale retellings this is one you should not miss out on!
This ain't your daughter's Beauty and the Beast! Forget everything you know about Belle and her Beast - this epic retelling breathes new life into the familiar fairy tale and takes you on a romantic adventure far beyond any Disney movie. The setup is the same, but the execution of the story is what really sets this tale far above any other version. The emotional depth is surprising for a fairy tale, and the breadth of the development - both with the wide range of characters and the exquisitely detailed setting - is amazingly well done. While the sexual tension fairly sizzles as Belle and Beast heat up the castle in the dead of winter, all the sexy love scenes are very tastefully done without any of the ick moments you're afraid you might find with Beast in his non-human form. At the heart of it all is a solid, strong romance, one that shows the true meaning of love, sacrifice, family, and beauty. The HEA is one of the best ever. If you're ready for a grown-up Beauty and the Beast, this book is a must-read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through Shifted Sheets.
I'm an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock. Beauty and the Beast like it should have been written! Looking for her father, Bell finds her destiny. The Beast is cursed to live a lonely life. Nikki Dean knows how to tell a story, how to pull a reader in. We know the story of Beauty and the Beast, but this is not the story you grew up with. This one has heat, so much my tablet almost cought on fire. 😁. With "knowing" what happens it wasn't like I was reading the same story, it was still fresh and new. I could feel how they felt about each other. I'm happy I read this as a box set, couldn't take waiting for them to come out. Nikki Dean will be releasing: Little Red Riding Hood (book 1 out by Christmas), The Little Mermaid and Snow White. I'm looking forward to them coming out. I recommend this series for anyone that likes ROMANCE with their romance.
I enjoyed it. I'm not going to lie I'm definitely glad I got it for free on amazon Kindle as the simple spelling errors did get to me occasionally. I write the wrong words sometimes... but I'm also not a writer. I do feel like parts were rushed but I did enjoy the story. It definitely had it's steamy sections and I have to admit the peaks in how some of the other fairytales work in were interested and I will read them. I've seen other reviews that their are better out there so will definitely keep my eyes open.
All in all I enjoyed it and read through it pretty fast so that means I must have liked it :-)
I LOVED this set of books. I thought when I first started reading it that I was going to find another ok adult fairy tale. I was not expecting such an awesome story. I laughed and cried with Belle, yelled and fumed at Ian and loved Mrs. Ambly and Cookie to death. If you like adult fairy tales or stubborn alpha males (sometimes clueless), shifters or witches and strong, stubborn and unselfishly loving women, then you will love this book. There is never a dull moment. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from Shifted Sheets.
I’ve always loved the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. This is definitely that story, but a grown up version of it. Not only in that the romance is more “physical” (though there definitely are well done love scenes) but also in terms of the complexity of the characters, Beauty, her Beast and the supporting cast, the depth and development of their emotions and the well developed and very well written plot (which does expand on the story bit only in ways that really work) all the way to its extremely well done HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions.
I was hesitant about Beauty and the Beast because I’m not very much into fairytale retellings. Until this book, I had long forgotten about fairy tales. Their cliché happy endings are just one of those things that stop appealing to you when you grow up. But with all the twists and dark turns in Beauty and the Beast, you really can't put the book down. It definitely rekindled some of my fondness for fairy tales. Definitely worth the read!
Pass on the horns, fangs, claws and hairy animal love
I really don't know what I and to say about this book. I love Beauty and the Beast's story and frequently search for a retelling. I knew this would involve "frisky" business but sooo not what I expected. It's kind of an on going and going and going story. Somewhere around 46% we get bestiality. Yeah...um...not the friskyness I was thinking and yeah... Yuck. So that happened. Again and again and again to the point of losing a real plot and actual quality writing.
That has been, along with the beastly tales, my favourite retelling of the beauty and the beast so far!
Steamy (very), with action, romance, humour and some mystery, too, this saga has everything to be great. Beast’s character and personality is fascinating to see how it evolves, and how Belle accepts him for himself.
I’m thinking about reading about Daphne and Sam, but I see the little mermaid saga hasn’t finished yet, so I think I’ll prefer to wait till I can read the whole story, instead of waiting impatiently for the last book to be released. Totally recommended!
Is this a retelling of Beauty and the Beast? Yes Is this an adult version of the classic? Very much so, yes Why the 2.5 rating? This feels like the author wrote this first in fan fiction and then decided to publish it. Also, doing adult things in Beast form is a bit .... weird. Another point - the ending just ends. If you want everything to be solved in a neat little bow, nope! The author quickly ends the series and leaves you with unanswered questions.
This great value boxset allows you to read all of the books in the Beauty and the Beast mini series at a lower price, in one easy to access place. It's a great retelling of a classic fairytale, though readers should be aware there are very graphic adult scenes (but you can skip over them if they make you uncomfortable, and still enjoy the story!). An excellent start to what I hope will be a gripping and brilliant Frisky Fairy Tales series. Highly recommended.
What a great take on a old fairytale! Now I've read many takes on this story but this was good. I thought at first it would be all cheesy and smutty...but nope it's not. That's not to say there's no sex cause oh yeah it's there! But the author did a great job on that! The story between Belle and the Beast was really, really good. Definitely recommend this!
I forgot how much I love this series!! Belle and Beast’s winding tale is quite the romance with twists and turns keeping everyone on their toes. Felicity kept everyone one edge and Gustav is a real tool. I loved meeting Beast’s family and can’t wait to meet more of his family.
Overall, I loved this series. A little slow at the beginning. But picked up fairly quickly & I couldn't put it down! It was difficult not to have the Disney version floating around in my head, until the first sex scene. All similarities ended there!! Pretty steamy!
