With his tousled hair, cocky grin, and surprising abs hidden under a conservative button-down, bartender Cameron Reed is no stranger to the attention of women.
He dates, but never gets serious, claiming that he’s too focused on his studies. But it’s not really school that preoccupies him; it’s sensual fantasies of his best friend’s sister.
Mina Silver might be absolutely off-limits because of her overprotective brother and father, but that doesn’t stop Cam from imagining the feel of her in his arms, the brush of his lips over her soft skin, or the sparks that would fly between them if he ever got her into bed.
But for Cam, the bonds of family and friendship are sacrosanct, and there is no way that he’d ever violate his friend’s trust. Or would he?
Because with love on the line, maybe it’s time for Cam to break a few rules.
Taking a risk never felt so right.
**Need You Now is part of a binge read series by New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and #1 International bestselling author of the million copy Stark series, J. Kenner.
Each novel in the series is a STANDALONE romance with a guaranteed HEA!
But even so, you won’t want to miss any in the series. Because then you can answer the question…
Who’s Your Man of the Month?
When a group of fiercely determined friends realize their beloved hang-out is in danger of closing, they take matters into their own hands to bring back customers lost to a competing bar. Fighting fire with a heat of their own, they double down with the broad shoulders, six-pack abs, and bare chests of dozens of hot, local guys who they cajole, prod, and coerce into auditioning for a Man of the Month calendar.
But it’s not just the fate of the bar that’s at stake. Because as things heat up, each of the men meets his match in this sexy, flirty, and compelling binge-read romance series of twelve novels releasing every other week from New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner.
“With each novel featuring a favorite romance trope—beauty and the beast, billionaire bad boys, friends to lovers, second chance romance, secret baby, and more—this series hits the heart and soul of romance.” — New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips
J. Kenner (aka Julie Kenner) is the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Wall Street Journal and #1 International bestselling author of over one hundred novels, novellas and short stories in a variety of genres.
Though known primarily for her award-winning and international bestselling erotic romances (including the Stark and Most Wanted series) that have reached as high as #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, JK has been writing full time for over a decade in a variety of genres including paranormal and contemporary romance, “chicklit” suspense, urban fantasy, and paranormal mommy lit.
JK has been praised by Publishers Weekly as an author with a “flair for dialogue and eccentric characterizations” and by RT Bookclub for having “cornered the market on sinfully attractive, dominant antiheroes and the women who swoon for them.” A six time finalist for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA award, JK took home the first RITA trophy awarded in the category of erotic romance in 2014 for her novel, Claim Me (book 2 of her Stark Trilogy) and in 2017 for Wicked Dirty in the same category. Her Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series (as Julie Kenner) is currently in development as a television show.
Her books have sold over three million copies and are published in over twenty languages.
In her previous career as an attorney, JK worked as a clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced primarily civil, entertainment and First Amendment litigation in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as in Austin, Texas. She currently lives in Central Texas, with her husband, two daughters, and two rather spastic cats.
The Man of the Month series all started when the local bar called The Fix on Sixth's loan was called in. Tyree, the owner, trusted the wrong guy to finance the start of the bar and now this guy wants the loan paid off in full or lose it.
Employees and friends do not want to see the bar close. Long time friends, Jenna, Reece and Brent jump in to invest in the bar and come up with ways to raise money and bring more customers in.
Jenna comes up with the idea to hold a Calendar of the Month contest for the public to choose each months model for the Calendar as a way to bring in more customers.
In the second book, Jenna was able to secure a tv series based off the renovations of the bar and highlighting the Calendar of the month contest.
In the third installment of the Man of the Month series we get Cam an Mina's story. Cam is the newly appointed weekend manager. Mina is the sister of Cam's best friend and the intern for the tv series. Since Mina has been spending so much time at the bar for the show, Cam's crush has gone into overdrive.
Mina has big dreams of making it in the entertainment industry and longs to move to LA for her big chance. One Cam finally makes his move, Mina has to decide what's more important. Her big break or Cam.
Cam came off pretty laid back and almost shy in the previous books. It was a great surprise to see him go all alpha on Mina. I'm enjoying this series and seeing all the characters find their other halves. It was a nice surprise getting to see Damien and Nikki Stark in this book as well as Noah and Kiki.
The Fix on Sixth is still trying to get back on its feet and with the help of the Man of the Month it is sure to be a success.
Need you now can be considered to be a secret crush trope although I don’t see how the author distinguishes this.
Cam has had a crush on Mina for nearly half his life and overtime it his feelings have been getting stronger. Mina was his best friend’s sister and he watched her date boy after boy, man after man now the time has come where he finally needs to take action.
Mina born a preemie and always seen as being weak by her twin brother Darryl and their father wants to fly the nest and prove that she is someone and something but at what cost?
One night they cross the line and become more. But Cam is going to have to work for it. I didn’t like Mina she is a spoilt brat and although she wants to be seen as independent she doesn’t act that way.
Mina is a commitment phobe and doesn’t want to give up on her dreams and aspirations but she doesn’t realise that she can have both. Until it is nearly too late.
This was a nice, sweet and easy read but not my favourite. The story is engaging and a fun read with low angst and no o/w drama apart from Cam trying to make Mina jealous but nothing happens with Tiffany. All in all it is all kind of meh for me. But I’m sure it will be a hit with others.

Need You Now by J. Kenner is the third installment of the Man of the Month Series and this time the Kenner sweeps readers away with this sweet best friend’s sister romance. Cameron Reed has always had feelings for his best friends twin sister, Mina. Since he didn’t want to ruin his friendship with Daryll, Cam kept his feelings for Mina locked away that is until he couldn’t especially he would be working in close proximity to Mina. So what happens when Mina finally sees Cam? Can these two friends find it easy to transition to lovers or will their budding romance be put to a test?
Need You Now is definitely a sweet and sexy friends to lovers storyline. The connection and emotions are written in such a palpable manner that readers can relate and root for Cam and Mina. So if you are looking for a love story that will have you smiling big then I suggest you meet Mr. March.
I was so very excited to read the next book in this excellent Man of the Month series. This time it's Mina and Cameron's story.
I love a good best-friend's sister-to-lovers tale. Cam and Mina have been friends since elementary school and dancing around their feelings for each other for years. Neither of them willing to risk their friendship--or the wrath of Mina's brother--to take things to the next level. Until one night.
And after that one night turned into nightly . . . there was nothing to stop them, right? Except for dreams and ambition . . .
Oh young love. And dream jobs. And dream relationships. And dreams in general. That's what both Cam and Mina are dealing with. But is chasing the dream more important than living it? Such a conundrum for them. Their friendship and love was never in doubt, but their future certainly was!
I immediately connected with Mina and how she really wanted to live her life her way. On her own. I adored Cam too. And I loved how even though they were only in their early 20's, they certainly knew what they wanted out of life. They had a bit of maturity that many people twice their age don't have. ~ Missy, 4 stars
Need You Now is the third book in J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series, and it’s another winner. After finishing book one, Down on Me, I was excited for more; after finishing book two, Hold on Tight, I was desperate for more. Two books were all I needed to know this was a series of novels containing a lot of fun, a series of novels I would instantly dive into upon getting my hand on each new one.
The Man of the Month series is a collection of interconnected romance stories, proving individual stories as a larger story plays out. Each novel features a favourite romance trope, ensuring there is something for everyone. The first book, Down on Me, provided us with the friends-to-lovers trope; the second book, Hold on Tight, provided us with the second chance romance; this third book, Hold on Tight, provides us with the brother’s best friend trope. Although each book is an individual story with a start and an end, I would recommend reading these books in order. To understand some of the details of the story in full, you need to understand how things came to be throughout the prior books. You’re certainly told, to ensure you have the basic facts to understand the story, but it is not the same as experiencing all that happened – for a bigger picture, read the series in order. After all, it’s a fun series, one you will not regret reading.
Like the prior two stories, you knew how things were going to play out in this one. You know how the trope plays out, and you know our male lead will be March’s man of the month. Despite this, the smaller details quickly pull you in. You know where things are going, but you want to see how things will come together. It’s the small details that suck you in, that leave you wanting more. Although this third book is not my favourite of the series, it provided all the feel-good elements I have come to enjoy in the first two book.
Moreover, this book seems to link in with one of the author’s other series – her Stark series. I have not read the Stark series, but it is on my to-read list. With this one, we get a little glimpse into the lives of the characters. I’m sure for long-time fans of the author, those who have read all of J. Kenner’s books and have not just dived in because the Man of the Month series sounds interesting, will adore this little cameo appearance. Had the series not been on my to-read list to begin with, it would have been after this.
Overall, this was another wonderful addition to the series. The characters in book four, Start Me Up, are not ones I’m particularly excited about reading, but it does sound like another interesting read. Not to mention, all the stuff going on in the background has me seriously excited for some of the other characters – in truth, I think this is why I’m not as excited about book four as I would like to be, as I’m desperate for certain stories to play out. I’m sure the suspense on certain characters is intentional, though, and I’m willing to take it as I’m positive I’m going to enjoy all of the books.

J Kenner’s Man of the Month series is kicking it into high gear with Need You Now! As the fourth book in her ever growing saga, Kenner is making waves and stealing hearts with the different tropes and sexy, handsome men she brings into the rebranding of Fix on Sixth. Mr. March contest is underway and some ever popular Kenner Krew take a pit stop to join in to help.
“Cameron Reed. Mild-mannered librarian by day. Internet porn star by night.”
Cameron Reed has had eyes on his best friends little sister for sometime now. Having grown up together, him and Darryl Silver have pestered Mena to no end, but ever since hormones played a roll, his eyes have only been on her. However, he wouldn’t jeopardize his friendship with either one of them… or could he? Mena’s feelings for Cameron have escalated and when a chance to take things to the next level arise, time spins out. She has worked diligently to make a name for herself, a career to hold true with no time for love. But when it comes to Cameron she can’t see past him. Can she juggle her career and love at the same time even though her dream is to be in LA in Hollywood to make a name for herself?
“She was seeing him in ways she shouldn’t --in ways that were pure fantasy.”
“He was in her heart.
Her heart and her head and her thoughts.”
Need You Now is a sweet friends to lovers romance. One to cherish to heart. A hero to knock your socks off and worship at your feet. Cameron Reed’s quest for love in his best friend’s little sister was pure and beautiful. Their connection and intimacy was beyond hot, which was surprising since he was a down to earth guy. But he takes charge behind closed doors and that’s where the fun lies.
Both characters are likeable and relatable. I enjoyed that both are educational/career driven. Mena is independent, strong and determined for her future. I liked how Kenner made Cameron a book nerd. The date he takes her on and shows her the drawings in the margins was touching for his personality which totally fit the story!
I especially devoured the end when a *cough* certain character from Kenner’s past work makes an appearance. I only hope this character makes reappearances throughout.
3.5 stars. A simply sweet romance, a quick and easy read, that is what I'd call Need You Now by J. Kenner. This is my first book by this author, although I've had her books on my TBR list for a while. This was probably the perfect way to get started. While there was a little bit of angst, it was resolved pretty quickly and easily. I definitely was rooting for Cam, he was the sweet best friend of Mina's brother Darryl. Her twin brother, so yeah, same age basically, not really an older brother's friend. I loved his sense of humor, and really need to go back and read the last two books in the series, to get to meet Cam and read about his funny entrance into the Mr. February competition. My only issues are that I wish I'd gotten a bit more back story, but that may have been something from the first two books, and then that there are sooooo many side characters in this short story that at times I had to flip back some pages to try to place who each of them were. It's not that they didn't have their own personalities or anything, it's just that there were a lot to catch onto in the shorter story. But, they only inspire me to read on in this series as it fits in with my current review schedule, leaving the ones I can't fit in for later dates. While it is a series, you can definitely read as a standalone, you'll just want to read the others to know more about all the great characters that you do meet.
It's funny, every two weeks I am checking my Kindle to see if the next book is there. I really look forward to seeing everyone at The Fix on Sixth and can't wait to see who is the next victim to fall. Mr. March is Cameron and my heart went out to him in Hold On Tight and was really looking forward to seeing if his pining away for Mina was going to work out.
Friends forever, best friends with her brother, Mina is off limits … except in his heart and dreams. He just wants a chance with her but is afraid of the rejection and to step across the line. Her and Darryl have been a fixture in his life for a very long time and he's afraid of losing the friendships. But, he keeps seeing something in her eyes that makes him think she may want him as well.
Mina has no idea why thoughts of Cam keep popping into her head. He's like family. So, why does she feel like she's on the cusp of something big. She doesn't have time for a relationship. Her focus has to be on her career so she could prove to her family that she can stand on her own two feet. She knows it can never be friends with benefits with Cam so she can't give in to this want. All it took was one kiss and it was over.
As Mina puts a time limit on them, Cam does everything in his power to make her see what it would be like with him. Putting his heart on the line is a risk he's willing to take to make her see what she has right in front of her.
I adored Cam. I love how J. Kenner wrote him as a sweetheart but a dominating lover. I loved how strong-willed Mina was. I always look forward to hearing about Wednesday nights at The Fix and this Wednesday night didn't disappoint … loved, loved, loved Cam's statement and his big, sparkly balls. So, on to Mr. April … this one should be interesting.
Again, we at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews would love if you kept reading Man of the Month. Don't forget … there may be a surprise at the end … stay tuned and keep reading!
Need you now is the third book in the man of the month series and so far the best. We have Mina and her brother's best friend Cam. Cam had a crush on Mina for many years now, but he never acted on it because he was respecting his friend and Mina didn't have any feelings for him until recently. I liked Cam, but I only tolerated Mina. She got some points at the end of the book, for most of it, I didn't like her much. When she called her friend with benefits I almost lost all hope for the series and the author because I believed I would be forced to read the very thing that made me wanna forget I ever got my hands on the first book aka the main character sleeping with a person who wasn't the hero or the heroine. Thankfully that didn't happen and I was relieved.
Cam was a good hero. He tried to get what he wanted and he managed to get the girl and he was sweet. Also, he didn't allow Mina to push him away when she said that wanted things to be casual. He went for what he wanted and saved me from a headache. I was mostly happy with the book and the way things worked out in the end. I hope Mina's brother will get a story (one of the 12 men can be gay, right?). He was the best character in the book and I loved him.
Friends since they were kids, with the help of Cam's best friend being Mina's twin brother Daryl, Cam has had a crush on Mina for years.
Mina has never given Cam much thought though... until one night the flirty banter sends shivers down her body and she can't figure out why.
After a scary encounter with a purse thief has the two of them scared for their life, Cam throws caution to the wind and kisses her. Now the two are trying to figure out what this means between them while Cam still has to decide if he's going to put himself up for Mr March after what happened in the February contest.
Absolutely adorbs! Every time I pick up one of these books, I make sure I have plenty of time set aside because they are binge worthy! This is the first couple not centred around the inner workings of the bar/contest and it was refreshing to see some of the background characters come to the forefront. I hope they pop up more in the books to come because I need to know what is going to happen with these two.
If only I was 20 years younger, I would certainly give Mina a run for her money for Cam!!!! Hot, adorable book geek that he is, he’s studying library science for heaven’s sake!!!!
Cam has had a huge crush on Mina for most of his life, as the little (just, as they are twins) sister of his best friend, Cam has refrained from acting on his feelings for this reason and also the belief that Mina views him as a second brother. However, the man of the month contest opens Mina’s eyes to the hotness that is Cam.
Cam is hiding an alpha under his mild-mannered exterior which fuels the fire between himself and Mina. Unfortunately, both Cam and Mina have a few issues stemming from their childhood and resulting in the need to prove themselves as they enter adulthood by way of their careers. Both have very specific career plans which they believe they are unable to deviate from as their perceptions are clouded by the insecurities of their upbringing.
The inclusion of the previous characters builds the series with each new story giving it a familiar feeling like welcoming a friend home ♥
Cam and Mina easily fit together and with the help of their friends are able to look past their own blinkered view of the future and the plans they have set themselves to realize that priorities change and plans can be altered to incorporate what is truly important, family, friends, and love.
I love the change in perspective for the epilogue to give a sneak peek of who will be next under the hammer, Start Me Up will be released on 27 Feb!!!!
NEED YOU NOW by J. Kenner is the Third book in the "Man of the Month" series. This is the story of Cameron Reed and Mina Silver. I have read the other books in this series but this is easily a standalone book. Cam has strong feelings for his friends sister but hasn't acted on it..not wanting to cross that line. But the more that time passes the harder it is getting for him to ignore his feelings. Mina has been protected by her family but is now trying to work toward a dream career so she is having mixed feelings for Cam. It was exciting to watch them come to their happy ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, given by the author. http://thesecretworldofbooklovers.blo... Cam has known Mina since forever and he has loved her for almost as long. She was always around and when they got older he started fantasying about her much more than just a great friend. The problem is that he has no clue what to do about this, and he is too scared to risk their friendship.
He has accepted that things are better the way they are, but he can't help how his body reacts to her, and people are starting to notice, the real question is... is she seeing that too?
Mina's life has always been about proving she is good enough, strong enough and that she has what she needs to be successful in her career and she is almost there, so close she can taste it.
But love was never on her plans, she keeps encounters simple, no attachments, so that way she can up and leave at any time.
That is until she kisses him, now that she's got a taste of cam she can't let go. It still doesn't make it any easier, she is leaving to follow her dream.
A beautiful story about the things that we give importance to in life. Are they willing to let the love of their lives walk away because of their career, or can they include them in their plans? Sometimes things can be altered if it means the end result will give you more happiness.
Welcome to the Man of the Month Series...Mr. March is BY FAR my favorite!!! We've met Cam before in the previous books as the charming and handsome bartender. But Mr. March has an agenda and his sights are set on the beautiful Mina Silver. The only snag is - she's his best friend's twin sister.
While each book in the series is short, Need You Now is super charming, fun, endearing and hot as hell. Cam's bad boy, alpha side had me swooning and falling hard. If Mina wasn't going to fall hard for him, I already was. Mina had her sights set on a career in LA, it was refreshing to see a career driven chick that knew what she wanted.
While the angst was little to none, the passion was super high. I was excited to read a more classic J. Kenner story, complete with a little dose of Damian Stark. Mr. March hit all the right notes for me. I'm re-energized for Mr. April in the next installment of the Man of the Month series.

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.
The Characters:
Cameron Reed: Mina Silver:
The Story:
One of my favorite tropes is brothers best friend so this was right up my alley. I love that Mina thinks she can have no strings attached with Cam when you can clearly tell she’s half in love with him before they lay a hand on each other. The babysitting scenes are very cute. This was quite enjoyable.

REVIEW: NEED YOU NOW is the third instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult MAN OF THE MONTH erotic, romance novella series focusing on a fund raiser for the popular Austin, Texas bar known as The Fix. This is twenty four year old university student and bar tender Cameron Reed, and PA Mina Silver’s story line. NEED YOU NOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over the author’s Stark Trilogy and its’ subsequent spin-offs with the inclusion of Damien and Nikki Stark.
SOME BACKGROUND: The Fix on Sixth, a local Austin hangout, is in desperate need of renovations and a quick influx of cash so a plan is put into motion, by a group of regulars, a plan that includes a Man of the Month calendar competition, and a reality show aimed at rehabbing the bar.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Mina and Cameron) NEED YOU NOW is a friends to lovers/ best friend’s sister story line that follows the building romantic relationship between Mina Silver and Cameron Reed. Now that the rehab show The Business Plan was in full swing, and The Fix on Sixth is getting the much need face-lift to remain competitive (Hold On Tight #2), Mina Silver finds herself up close and personal with the day to day operations of a reality television program. Hoping for a career in Hollywood, Mina has no desire to start a long-term relationship especially with her brother’s best friend, and the man that calls to her heart Cameron Reed but Cameron has other plans including the slow seduction of his best friend’s sister. What ensues is the building romance between Mina and Cam, and the potential fall-out as Mina’s plans for Hollywood come around much quicker than anyone had anticipated.
The attraction between Mina and Cam has been a long time developing; childhood friends who have always had one another’s back Mina and Cam’s relationship goes from friends to friends with benefits but a benefits arrangement Mina refuses to take it to the next level. Cam wants something more permanent but Mina believes her time in Austin is limited, and isn’t willing to risk her heart or the heart of the man she has known most of her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples and cast, with the addition of Mina’s brother Darryl, Cam’s sister KiKi (Stark Series), and of course, a cameo appearance by Damien and Nikki Stark.
NEED YOU NOW is a quick read; a sexy and sassy friends to lovers romance; a best friend’s sister love from afar wherein the best friend is well aware of the attraction between the couple in question. There is very little conflict except the potential for our heroine to move forward without the man that she loves. The premise is entertaining; the characters are energetic; the romance is provocative and intense. NEED YOU NOW is another wonderful addition to J. Kenner’s MAN OF THE MONTH novella series.
A brilliantly sexy and sweet friends to lovers romance that'll have your tongue lolling and your eyes bugging...
I feel so spoilt at the moment. Being drip fed these gorgeous men is doing nothing for my reality spectrum and EVERYTHING for my uuuummmm...imagination. Look, I'm trying to keep it clean, ok? So, anyway, the Man of the Month series focuses on different peoples' efforts to keep their local bar opened and profiting. Each book is an interconnected standalone that develops the save the bar plot whilst playing on some of our favourite romance tropes. So far we've had friends to lovers, second chance and now we have the best-friend's sister/ forbidden romance trope. I have to admit, that this series is the read that I look forward to every month/few weeks. I didn't think it would become what it has to me...a guaranteed escape and thoroughly loved read. Seriously, whenever I open my kindle to find the next book on there, I go pretty freaking crazy with excitement.
Need You Now was such a fabulous instalment, the romance focuses on Cameron and Mina. We've gotten glimpses into Cam in the last two books—Down on Me and Hold On Tight—he came across as a little introvert and shy. Boy, boy, boy was that a crock of doobie doos. This guy is pure alpha. My eyes were bugging out of my head and my tongue was lolling out of my mouth...holy guacamole was this guy just (please fan me) hot hot hot. Seriously, I was not expecting Cam to open up into the caveman he turned out to be. I can't even make sense. I'm still a little bit like whaaaaaaat? Saying that, I think that he perfectly balances out Mina's character. She's so ambitious and driven, she's also focused and independent. I liked that he was what made her soft and human. I don't mean it to sound like she's unrelatable, because she is completely and utterly loveable and likeable and she's strong. I guess what I mean is that he expands her career focus onto other things. You know, these are two multi-layered and multi-faceted characters. They have so much broiling underneath the surface and the deeper you go, the more there is to them. Also, can I just say that I loved Cameron's book nerd tendencies. Oh, and that date...puuuuuhlease...that was game over for me.
Need You Now is a friends to lovers romance in some aspects, although the focus is more the whole best-friend's sister trope. I liked that the drama was well contained and didn't take away from the romance. It didn't overpower the essence of Cam's and Mina's story. you know, this is a very sweet albeit hot romance. It's akin to a fairytale only with a whole lot of bite and spice. I'm finding myself really warming to the third person narrative in which this series is written. I can't actually fault it. It's so hard because I really just want to moan about it as it's not something I usually enjoy, however I can't. Julie Kenner has done such an outstanding job of writing this series. I can't even begin to imagine it being written in the first person—it's pretty much perfect the way it is!
If you love the Starks, you'll love Damien's, Nikki's, Noah's and Kiki's cameos. That was a very pleasant surprise for me and I hope that we see more of them throughout the series. Overall, this was such a great romance. I was utterly taken with it from beginning to end. The characters are brilliantly developed and the plot is effortlessly and pretty flawlessly executed. I loved Need You Now and I cannot wait for Start Me Up!
A best friends to lovers’ story full of sweetness, sexiness, and of course a hint of hotness.
Cameron Reed, the sexy boy next door who seemed too proper but terribly charming, having the hots of his best friend’s sister for years. When the opportunity to get finally the girl is on his reach, well things didn’t go well, not as expected I would say.
Mina had been totally oblivious to Cameron’s crush on her. His best friend’s brother has never been considered more than a friend, until that moment when after all these years, something awaken and she realized that he was definitely more than a friend.
We can’t deny the chemistry and sexiness for sure but still, these two were not on the same page. One was looking for a good time the other was going with it, because it was better than nothing.
I didn’t mind a little playful banter and I understood that some people might need some time to realize what they had in front of them, but still, Mina was a bit frustrating sometimes for being just not considerate about Cameron’s feelings at times.
Cameron wasn’t the proper guy he seemed to be, more than meets the eye. A laid back guy who doesn’t take himself seriously and fun, always available for his friends and family.
Once again, the couple brought the heat, and I did enjoy this story. The ending was pretty great and swoon worthy. Mr March was a catch for sure!
I was anxiously awaiting Cam and Mina’s book as there have been subtle hints of his attraction since book one. Little did I know that he has been harboring these feelings almost as long as he has known Mina.
Cam has been promoted to assistant manager at The Fix on Sixth, the neighborhood hot spot that is hosting a Man of the Month competition for a calendar they are doing to help raise money to keep the establishment from going under. Cam was in close competition but was aced out of the February win for Man of the Month. He didn’t have any intentions of entering the March contest, but at the prodding of his best friend Darryl and his twin sister Mina, who he has a serious crush on, he decides to enter. Cam has a sad back story, but he has really done well for himself. He has won scholarships for college and he is currently working on his doctorate! He is not only gorgeous but smart!
Mina is Darryl’s twin sister and he is very protective of her. He was born first and healthy, but Mina was a preemie and had a rough start her first few years, but growing up she caught up except her size, she is petite. Their mom left, and they were raised by their Dad and he is also very protective of her. Her dream is to get a job in Hollywood as a director. She has her master’s degree in film and media production, so her stint as an intern on the Fixer Upper show that’s also filming at The Fix on Sixth will only pad her resume, not to mention, she just got a job as an assistant to the VP of a production company in South Austin.
An innocent touch Mina gave Cam set the wheels in motion for the attraction to ramp up and after a few drinks and liquid courage took over, the passion was ignited! Wholly hotness they have chemistry. Cam is wanting to out them as a couple, but Mina wants to keep it on the down low.
Will their relationship become public? Can Cam confess to Darryl that he is dating his sister? Who wins Man of the Month for March? I’m not going to spill the beans! You are just going to have to read it and find out for yourself. This was a terrific addition to this series and it just continues to keep me enthralled.

NEED YOU NOW by J. Kenner is the 3rd book in the "Man of the Month" series. This is the story of Cameron Reed and Mina Silver. Cameron has had a crush on Mina for nearly half his life. She’s the twin sister of his best friend. Mina hasn’t really paid attention to Cam because he is the best friend of her brother Darryl and in her eyes, he is like another brother until one night when things change between them. Now Cam is ready to prove to Mina that he is the man for her and has always been that man. But Cam is going to have to work for it. Mina is this little pixie of a woman who has been sheltered by the men in her life due to her ill health when she was little. She thinks she needs a bad boy in her life when really deep down she knows the quiet, handsome nerd that is close to home is the only man she will ever need—and she makes him work for it. Their unique and intense love story is one that I enjoyed reading. Some might say Mina is spoiled or temperamental but I see her as someone who is scared and afraid at times to go for what she wants. I also see Cam as a man who wants this woman but afraid to go for it until its almost too late. Then that boy works for it and pursues his woman to prove they are worth it. I liked this story and the romance that goes with it. I also like seeing glimpses of chemistry between certain couples but what drove me nuts is how we have to wait to find out if it will develop into anything. Naughty author, making us wait to find out. Another great add for this series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ This is the third book in the series, and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order. Each story revolves around another couple, but the underlying plot is ongoing.
Cam works in the bar, as well as studying ancient books and manuscripts – he is about to start a PhD. I liked that he has a background and relationship with other people at the bar. In particular, he has been longtime friend with Mina (who is interning with the film crew) and her twin, Darryl. He has been in denial about his feelings for Mina for a very long time, and she seems totally oblivious.
Whilst we get up to speed with all things Save The Fix, we see just what a good guy Cam is, and can only hope that Mina gets with the programme too! I enjoyed their honesty, even if Mina is more blunt at times. They clearly have great chemistry, now they just need to make the leap to more.
The whole gang are getting to be old friends as the series progresses and having a visit from Damien Stark and Nikki was an unexpected bonus. Roll on April!

4.5 Star Review Need You Now (Man of the Month #3) by J Kenner The third book in the series and is Cameron Reed and Mina Silver’s story. This was a fun quick friends to lovers story which flowed well and was entertaining. Cameron has been in love with his best friends twin sister since childhood but she has never seen him in that light. Or has she? Cameron is concerned that his friendship, not only with Mina, but is best friend, would be in jeopardy if he crosses the line and moves on his long buried passion. However when circumstances offer him the perfect opening, he decides to jump all in. Unfortunately Mina does not appear to be as committed to their new found relationship. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but honestly I think you will get more enjoyment if you read in order as previous characters pop in. Will Mina put the new relationship she finds herself in with Cameron first, or will she take the job of a lifetime move across the country? I fell really hard for Cameron and so wanted him to get his happily ever after. Mr March, you are one gorgeous man. The characters were easy to relate to, not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this extremely well written and entertaining story and I cannot wait for the next book in the Man Of The Month series.
In this 3rd and totally sweet addition to the Man of the Month series, we get more acquainted with Cameron. He has had a crush on Mina since he was young yet never acted on it, considering Mina is his best friends sister. While getting ready for the Mr. March contest at the bar Cameron watches Mina constantly while she works with the shows crew. He longs for what he feels he can't have or really deserve. When one innocent touch ignites a passion not only in Cameron but Mina, he let's himself hope for more.
Mina is very fixated on her career and proving herself. He father and brother have always been over protective on her. Now she won't let anything get in her way. Not even the new feelings she has for her childhood friend.
This time around we have a friends to lover story line that is sweeter than molasses and more endearing that a brand new puppy. Don't get me wrong the author finds a way to heat up the pages but the emotions feel so real and sweet all at the same time. I am so addicted to the hook-ups and the 12 men we're going to meet have so much to offer. Each book has it's own appeal yet I really do recommend starting at the beginning since each book builds on the last.
Wonderfully told with some of the most amazing characters to date.
NEED YOU NOW is yet another entertaining addtion to J. Kenner's wonderfully written series Man Of The Month. This one is Cameron Reed and Mina Silver's story. It was a fast paced, good time read that kept me hooked all the way through.
Cam has been in love with Mina for years, but he has not acted on his feelings for the fear of losing the friendship of his best friend, who just happens to be Mina's protective twin brother. Secret trysts and career decisions form a major part of this relationship. Is Mina committed to Cam as much as he is to her? Will the perfect career opportunity derail this relationship before it has had the chance to evolve? I simply adored Cam, to me he was the perfect Mr March and Mina was just gorgeous.
Even thoough this is a standalone, I truly believe that you will get more enjoyment out of this series by reading each book. There is a continuing back story that flows through all of them. The author even manages to sneak in some surprise characters from her other terrific series.
I am thoroughly enjoyng this series. The writing is wonderful and easy to read and the characters are just so likeable and believeable. Definitely a recommended read.
THE BEST MAN OF THE MONTH SO FAR, NEED YOU NOW WAS SWEET TEMPTATION AND PURE SEDUCTION IN ONE HECK OF A IRRESISTIBLE PACKAGE! I go swept away by Cam. He was gorgeous, kind, sweet, a bit shy, but once he finally gets Mina in his bed, OH WOW, he turns into a all around sexy, possessive, AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS man I want ALL to myself. So far every man of the month I found to be charming and special, but Need You Now just had something more that I wasn't expecting but I found totally endearing. The fact that Cam seems so different, IN A VERY HOT, VERY DELICIOUS WAY just adds that extra bit of zing to things. And Mina, she is one heroine I could see myself as best friends with. She is bold, funny, sweet, and knows how to have fun and be serious at the right times. Cam and Mina definitely deserve one another and seem to have that perfect chemistry and make the cutest couple!
I always enjoy a good book where the man falls for his best friend's sister, but somehow this book still manages to go above and beyond most other books. Its sweet, sultry, tempting and pleasing and I FLOVED it!
Need You Now gets a OH SO HOT HOT HOT FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Bring on the next Man of the Month PLEASE!
