Don't miss these two classic and thrilling Whitehorse, Montana favorites in WHITEHORSE SECRETS from New York Times bestselling author, B.J. Daniels, originally published as SECRET OF DEADMAN'S COULEE and THE NEW DEPUTY IN TOWN in 2007.In SECRET OF DEADMAN'S COULEE, Deputy Sheriff Nick Rogers finds out small-town life means adjusting to two things--gossip, and Laney Cavanaugh. Neither are going to help him solve a bridal shower murder. When Sheriff Carter Jackson gets the call in THE NEW DEPUTY IN TOWN, it's to embark on an all-out search for a flame from his past. And keeping Eve out of danger only reignites the sparks between them.
B.J. Daniels started her life in Houston, Texas, before her family moved to Montana at age five. She grew up in a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon near Big Sky and later on Hebgen Lake near West Yellowstone. Because of her love for Montana, most of her books are set there. Born into a storytelling family, all she'd ever wanted to do was write stories. After a career as an award-winning newspaper journalist, she wrote and sold 37 short stories before she finally wrote her first book, ODD MAN OUT. Since then she has won numerous awards including a career achievement award for romantic suspense. She lives in Montana with her husband, Parker, two Springer Spaniels. When she isn't writing, she quilts, boats and. makes rope/fabric baskets. She always reads, loving to lose herself in a good book.
This book contains two books Secret of Deadman's Coulee and The New Deputy in Town. I purchased this duo combo before realizing that I had already purchased these books separately. The books were purchased from Harlequin.
Secret of Deadman's Coulee: Wow this book really was full of intrigue. I kinda felt sorry for Carter in a way. Karma is a b!t@h and boy he sure got his arse kicked. Hormones at 19 are rough (I'm in my 50's but I can still remember them at that age.) He should paid for his mistake though. Unfortunately Eve paid the price and was heartbroken. I felt so sorry for her. This is their second chance story and Ms. Daniels really went all out. Her stories will always give the reader a tale that is hard to put down and will keep you guessing.
This is the first book of this series and it was a great one. I have a feeling that the Whitehorse Sewing Circle will come in play in other books and I so look forward to it!!!
The New Deputy in Town: I just loved this story. The intrigue of finding not only the killer (that struck at a bridal shower!) but then there was an person attacking various men outside of bars then there is a killer cop on the loose. Yep, sit down and go on a roller-coaster ride with this one. Nick was absolutely drool-worthy while Laney was the perfect foil for him. This one will have you not only guessing as to where to point the finger at the guilty but for which crime!!!
I highly recommend this book or the individual ones to anyone who love intrigue/suspense.
This is actually 2 books. When you finish the first book you go right into the second and the story goes on. It's a very good book that I think everyone can enjoy. The story is realistic and the characters are interesting. The story deals with a large family and the things that happen in their lives and how when something happens to one character, it also affects other members of the family. Give it a try, it is a long read but then it is also 2 books. I think you will enjoy it and not want to put it down. I didn't.
Secrets of Dead man's Coulee and The New Deputy in town were both freaking awesome! I don't know how I missed these two but sure am glad I found them!!!! Those sewing circle women are a force. The secrets kept by the residence of this small Monta town will have your haw dropping. Between the secrets, mystery and danger I promise you'll not be able too put it down.
B.J.Daniels always writes interesting and amazing stories.Thrills, mystery and suspense with an amazing romantic relationship.Stories that hold you from the very first page to the last..
Both books have mystery, romance, little sex, some humor and great heroes and heroines. Along with great descriptions of the surrounding areas. Highly recommend.
Books by B.J. Daniels never disappoint. I've been a fan of B.J.'s stories for many years. Although I hadn't read "Secret of a Deadman's Coulee", but I had read "The New Deputy in Town" in paperback many years ago. Surprisingly, I very much enjoyed reading it again. B.J.'s heroes and heroines are well written and engaging. The plots are complex and keep the reader guessing who did what until the last chapters. The price for two Harlequin Intrique books is very good. Happy reading.
