Hannah Donovan is not my type.

Intellectual and career-focused, she’s a lawyer, and an intimidatingly beautiful one, at that. I’d rather pump iron than open a book, and the only reason I’d go to court would be for a traffic ticket.

She’s the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen. So how can I turn down her plea that I pretend to be her fiancé for one weekend?

But I never expected our pretend kisses to feel so real … or for it to lead to a wild night in bed that will forever stand out as the highlight of my sex life.

Our performance convinces everyone, but it was never meant to be more than a fantasy. A short term gig before reality sets back in.

I can’t imagine ever being good enough for her, but I’m hooked. And now I’m determined to do whatever it takes to make this fake engagement real.

Each novel in the series is a STANDALONE romance with a guaranteed HEA!

And don’t miss Bar A Man of the Month cookbook featuring recipes, slices of life, and an all new short story!

Fake relationship romances? Yes...please!!!! There is just something fun about these kind of romance storylines especially when it comes to J. Kenner who has the ability to create characters that demands our attention. Toss in the fact that there is this crazy burning sexual tension between her characters will make you go crazy, giddy and swoon all at the same time. So it’s practically given that will fall In Too Deep in love with this book and this series. So what are you waiting for and go read this book stat!

I can't believe we are almost done with this series. Matthew and Hannah are the focus of book 10 and have been in previous books, however you do not need to read the others to enjoy their story.

Hannah is a lawyer and good friends with Easton from book 9. In his book she asked Easton to start up a new law practice with her. What she wasn't expecting was for her funds to start this new practice to be tied up in her retirement without being able to cash it in.

Hannah needs the money her dad left her in his will to get the start up funds and the only way to accomplish this is to show her mom and step-dad that she is settling down. This is where Matthew comes in. Selma, his sister and girlfriend of Easton happily volunteered Matthew to pose as Hannah's fiance to her parents to show that she is ready to settle down. As I'm sure you can guess, this doesn't go off without a hitch.

What Hannah doesn't know is that Matthew has always had a secret thing for her and he's not sure how detached he can be for this role. Hannah also realizes she may have a thing for Matthew as well but the last thing she needs is a new relationship while trying to start up her new business.

I liked this couple well enough but I did not like her parents. I won't say too much to give it away but I wish there was some justice done on that part. Maybe that's being saved for a sides story in book 11.

Griff is up next and I think he is one of the most anticipated stories for me. I think he's been in every single book so far and I'm very intrigued about how he is going to handle being the Man of the Month with his scars that he takes great care into hiding. It will be interesting to see how J Kenner handles it.

Brief Series Description: The Man of the Month series all started when the local bar called The Fix on Sixth, owned by Tyree, was on the verge of closing. Long time friends Jenna, Reece, and Brent jump in to invest in the bar and come up with ways to raise money and to bring more customers in. One of those ideas was to hold a Calendar of the Month contest in the bar focusing on local celebrities. Each book in the series represents the man of that month.

Well, this little series just keeps getting better and better. Matthew, our gym rat, is up next for the Man of the Month and paired with a woman who usually goes after what she wants but needs a little help this time around … Atty. Hannah Donovan.

I felt a little sad for Matthew. He is insecure but a successful business man. Owns his own gyms, not ashamed of where he came from or how he was brought up. But, honestly feels that he isn't good enough for the educated, beautiful Hannah Donovan. Yes, he feels the electricity and the heat between them, but, this is a charade … one to help out the most wonderful woman that he has ever met. He knows it's an act but can't help but wonder what it would be like to have her in his life for ever.

Hannah is thrilled that her dream of her own law firm, partnered with Easton, is coming true. Unfortunately, she has a step-father controlling the situation and she's not too happy about that. At one time, her mother praised her hero father, now she does whatever Ernest wants. And, the one thing that could help her could not be had until she is in a stable relationship … and not with another woman. A fake fiancé it is. But, it's starting not to feel fake. The decision between the $50,000 inheritance and Matthew is easy … she'll come up with the money some other way but she refuses to lose the man that lights up her heart and her libido.

Well, J. Kenner really made me smile with Matthew and Hannah's story. It was fun but serious. Had a man that I completely despised put into his place and a woman that seriously needed to pay more attention to her daughter instead of being a doormat to her husband. But, that's not what made me truly smile. Hannah did, when she made the decision and when she made Matthew see that he was more than a gym rat but a successful, up-and-coming, businessman that she fell in love with.

So, I can't wait for the next book. Griffen. I have a funny feeling that is going to be one emotional ride that will probably bring me to tears. Only two more books left and I am going to really miss the gang at The Fix on Sixth.

Hannah Donovan needs my help ..... she is the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen so how can I turn her plea down when she asks me to be her fake fiancé for the weekend. Hannah Donovan has dreamed of having her own law firm so when her best friend Easton Wallace offers her a partnership the only thing she needs to do is come up with her half of the start up costs, that shouldn’t be too hard her father left her an insurance policy when he was killed in the line of duty but her mother and her stepfather have put conditions on her getting her hands on the money she needs to be in a committed relationship that they approve off and the only person she knows who may help her is me but will I be good enough for the girl I have only ever admired from afar and will our pretend kisses end up meaning more than I could ever hope for........
I love this series of short reads and for me Hannah and Matthews story is the best so far, the chemistry is sizzling and the storyline is powerful. I’m sad that we are book 10 and that means only 2 more in the Man of the Month Series, I will be sorry to come to the end of this journey with such wonderful couples.

Coming into the homestretch for this Man of the Month series! In too Deep is Hannah and Matthew’s story.

Hannah’s in a bit of a conundrum. She needs the money set aside from her father’s life insurance policy, but that requires her to jump through many hoops set up by her mother and step father. Enter Matthew.

Matthew’s had a serious crush on Hannah for a while and acting as her “fake fiancé” gives him an opportunity to get to know her better and hopefully be the start of something “more.” What could go wrong? How about a lot?

I really like the relationship between Hannah and Matthew. They were fun, sexy and pretty much perfect for each other!

What I didn’t like was the lack of discussion about Hannah’s past relationship. And of course the relationship with her mother and step father... there wasn’t really any resolution to the situation.

I am looking forward to Griff and Brent’s stories! ~ Missy, 3 stars

The connotative meanings when it comes to the title for Mr. October’s book has a number of implications in regards to the hero and heroine, and as the story line progresses, it’s clear that both characters are in too deep, whether it be due to the complications of their fake romance feeling a little bit too real or the fact that the hero is quite smitten with the heroine and has a difficult time downplaying those feelings or it could be the reasons behind Hannah’s need for a fake engagement or even what she has to wade through with her mother and stepfather that has her extremely frustrated and panicked.

Regardless of the culprit, figuring out a way for both of them to get what they want is their highest priority, and when Hannah and Matthew figure out that they might just be on the same page when it comes to what they truly want from one another and their ‘fake’ relationship, which means that they need to find a way to turn fantasy into reality without anyone catching on to how their engagement started and that there’s more at stake than they ever thought possible when Matthew agreed to Hannah’s plan, even if he felt she was out of his league.

The fake engagement, fake relationship trope is one I know well, and while there seems to be a lot of romance stories that center around this plot line, most that I’ve read lately bring something fresh and/or unique to the story, which is all I need to not make what I read feel so monotonous. In Too Deep works its own distinct angle when it comes to the structure of the story and the reason behind the need to role play as an engaged couple, and it’s clear what the hero and the heroine have to gain from their arrangement, even if what they realize perhaps complicates things…it’s a complication that, I think, they’ll both end up wanting and in some ways, needing.

There’s only Mr. November and Mr. December left to meet, which makes me curious about the finale and how J. Kenner is going to give her Men of the Month boys and their significant others the sendoff they deserve…I can’t wait to find out!

J. Kenner, I think I love you. LOL

In Too Deep is the 10th, yes 10th, installment in Kenner's Man of the Month series. I can't believe we are almost at the end of this series. It feels like I just started reading them not too long ago.

Since the author chose not to reveal the male lead in her blurb, I won't spoil that for any readers since I am not sure if there was a reason behind the author leaving that out or not.

Hannah is offered to open her own law firm with Easton and being that she's at a dead-end job, she jumps at the chance. However, she is finding that her two options of obtaining money are harder than she anticipated - one option she can't get the money til she retires and the other is money she should have received from her father's insurance when he passed away. Except, her mom and now step-dad are withholding it til she can prove she is ready to settle down in her life. And that is how she finds herself looking for a fake fiancé.

Hannah isn't looking for anything permanent and neither her is fake fiancé. But neither can deny the chemistry between them. Let me tell you - it is off the charts HOT!!!

I really enjoyed this story line so much. I won't give many other details because it was really a fun and sexy story to read. I love his more dominant side comes out but they are both focused on their business success but can't deny what is between them.

This is one of my more favorite books in this series. While there was one male character I wanted to kick straight into the balls, I really enjoyed the majority of these characters and the story. I am looking forward to the next book as it deals with the one character who has been in every book but has remained quite mysterious too.

Side note - each of these books can all be read as standalones, however, there is an underlining story that follows through each book. But the main story in each book is perfect for a quick read.

In Too Deep is the tenth book in J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series, and it is another winner. I knew from the outset I was going to enjoy this one – it is one of my favourite tropes, and it is taking place in one of my favourite series – and I was not disappointed. In truth, I feel as though these last few books are going to blow us out of the water – it’s my favourite tropes and my favourite characters, so big things will be coming as this series comes to a close.

The Man of the Month series is a collection of interconnected romance stories, proving individual stories as a larger story plays out. Each novel features a favourite romance trope, ensuring there is something for everyone. The first book, Down on Me, provided us with the friends-to-lovers trope; the second book, Hold on Tight, provided us with the second chance romance; the third book, Need You Now, provided us with the brother’s best friend trope; the fourth book, Start Me Up, provided us with the one-night stand; the fifth book, Get It On, provided us with the secret baby trope; the sixth book, In Your Eyes, provided us with the bad boy billionaire; the seventh book, Turn Me On, provided us with the friends with benefits trope; the eighth book, Shake It Up, gave us the May-December romance; the ninth book, All Night Long, provided us with the opposites attract trope. With book ten, In Too Deep, we’re given one of the most popular romance tropes out there – we’re given the fake relationship.

Although each book is an individual story with a start and an end, I would recommend reading these books in order. To understand some of the details of the story in full, you need to understand how things came to be throughout the prior books. You’re certainly told, to ensure you have the basic facts to understand the story, but it is not the same as experiencing all that happened – for a bigger picture, read the series in order. Now that we’re so close to the end of the series, we’re seeing a lot of references to the past books – we’re constantly seeing couples from the prior books, we’re building on the events of the prior books, and we’re getting so many nods that things have a bigger impact when you understand all the references. By no means am I saying you need to go back and read all the books, but I am saying you will appreciate this series much more if you read things in order. Plus, it’s nice to watch how the underlying story is playing out.

With each book in this series you go in with certain expectations – you have an idea of how the trope plays out and you know who is to be the man of the month. Despite this, you’re interested in seeing how the little details play out – and for those following the series, you’re interested in seeing the additional elements added to the overall story. Although we’re never given anything new to the genre, we’re always given something unique to keep us wanting more.

With In Too Deep we have a trope that has been done so many times before, a trope we know very well. With such a trope, it’s the little things that make this one stand out from the rest of the crowd. We all know when the fake relationship trope is done well it is an amazing read – which this one is – yet it’s always the small things we find ourselves extra drawn to. It’s the little details that suck us into the story and ensure we do not feel as though we’re reading a story we have read many times over. With such being exactly what is delivered in this book – there’s no major new twist, it gives us the trope we know and love but adds in all the small details we could hope for to ensure we get something a wee bit different.

Not that it would matter if it was a repeat of another story – I probably would have loved it anyway, as I adored the characters in this one. The couple were amazing, and I found myself crazy about them, sucked so deep into their story. They went so well together, and I really do wish that we could have got to see even more of them. I know all the stories in this series are quick reads, but in this case I would have gladly devoured something much longer.

As wonderful as this one was, I am insanely excited for the next book. Light My Fire is my most anticipated book in the series, and I cannot begin to explain how desperate I am to dive into it – all the extra insight we got throughout In Too Deep only made me all the more excited for it.

Excuse me as I count down to Light My Fire.

These men of the month are just so hot and I love them all!! Each one has his own personality and each just totally works for me. And I love that each one somehow gets shanghaied into the contest, even when they really don't want to be.

I really really hope that at the end, these stories are all put into 1 book so that you can read the entire saga to save The Fix on Sixth all in one!

Only 2 more men in the month left - and they're 2 of my favorites!!! I can't wait for their stories!!!

5 Star Review In Too Deep (Man of the Month #10) by J Kenner

This is the tenth book in the series and is Hannah Donovan and Matthew Herrington’s story. In Too Deep is an extremely well written, fun quick story which grabbed my attention from the start.

Hannah is the best friend and new law partner of Easton Wallace. Everything is going well in their plans to establish their new practice until it isn’t. The money she planned to use from her pension fund suddenly cannot be accessed and her mother does not want to release her inheritance from her late father unless she is in a committed relationship.

When she spills her woes to Easton’s girlfriend Selma, she comes up with a plan to get her brother to help Hannah out.

Matthew has always been drawn to Hannah and vice a versa. The chemistry between Hannah and Matthew sizzles and I absolutely adored Matthew.

However it isn’t as smooth sailing as it could be. Matthew is now at a point where he is looking to find “the one”. Hannah doesn’t feel she is ready to settle down, especially since she us trying to build up their practice.

The books in this series can easily be read as stand alone, but since they are not that long and a quick and easy read I would recommend you one click them all.

This has been a fun series to read and I am excited and sad that there are only two more books to come; looking forward to Mr. November.

IN TOO DEEP by J. Kenner is book 10 in the Man of the Month series. This is the story of Matthew and Hannah. Each book in this series is a standalone. Hannah is a lawyer and good friends with Easton from book 9. Hannah needs the money her dad left her in his will to get the start up funds to start up a new law practice since her funds to start this new practice are tied up in her retirement and she cant cash it in. This is where Matthew comes in. In order for her to get her hands on the funds, she has to prove she is settled down so Matthew is needed to play the part of her fake fiancée. Only thing is, Matthew has always had the hots for Hannah. Can this fake fiancée thing go off without a hitch or will these two find themselves in a real relationship? I liked this couple well and the story didn’t drag on which was good. I enjoyed the chemistry between them and the plot was fresh. I look forward to the next book in this series.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

Final Score - 4 Stars!

Hannah is starting a new law firm. If only she had the money to help sign the leas as her mom and stepdad are holding it hostage. Matthew is the owner of a gym. He's a man who is just looking to settle down at this point in his life - wife & kids included. What happens when a meddling sister intervenes? A true friends to lovers story that's what!

Loved Matthew & Hannah's story. It was the perfect wind down to the Man of the Month series as there are just 2 bachelors left.

Hannah and Matthew's story is one for the books.

When Matthew agrees to be Hannah's fiancee for a weekend, to impress her parents so she can get her inheritance, he never imagines what it would lead to. Unfortunately, her parents see through the ploy which leaves Hannah questioning what is more important to her - true love or her career, because she's certain she cannot have both.

One of my favourites from this series so far! Matthew and Hannah had a friendship turned romance which is what I personally love to read, though I wish we got to see more of The Fix (I think we went into the bar twice?) or at least had more emphasis on the contest.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the tenth book in the series - and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order, as the characters and the underlying plot follow on through each book. This one in particular absolutely needs book 9 to be read.

Hannah is ready to start the new law firm with Easton, but she needs funds to put into the partnership. She is due a fund left by her father, but her mother and stepfather are holding onto it until she has a settled life. When she visited with girlfriend Janet, they definitely did not approve.

Now her best friend Selma offers her brother as a fake fiancé to help get the money. Matthew, gym owner agrees to help out, in part because he really likes Hannah. There are some funny lines as they have to share a bedroom when they go to visit, and they clearly have chemistry which they ought to deny. Her stepfather is truly vile, and gets what he deserves from Matthew.

I really enjoyed this installment, it isn't heavy on the issues of The Fix, but they are tied in neatly. Hannah and Matthew's new relationship will be one to watch in months to come.

So, this was definitely a good read, had steamy scenes, and some emotional ones as well. It was also another quick read, had me flipping pages (electronically) to keep reading and finding out what was going to happen. Matthew is so perfect for this type of a fake-dating scenario. Although he is nervous ahead of each meeting with Hannah's parents, he seems to be really great at thinking on his feet in a manner that saves him and Hannah from most of the questions and accusations her parents attempt in order to split them up, and keep Hannah from her money. Although I have to wonder, why in the world are they dragging their feet so much? I really liked Matthew when we got to know him in his sister's book, and I definitely like him more after this book. I love all the connections to the other stories we get in these books, and I look forward to the last two books and who we will see getting together. Only one really big question/issue I had with this one. It mentioned that Hannah had been with a woman last time she'd been home to visit her parents, and that's why they'd had the issue with who she brought home and giving her trust fund to her. So, was she trying to shock them back then? Bi-sexual? Or what? I'd like some more details about that, and how she is now into a guy, if she'd been into a woman before.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

I completely loved this! Matthew and Hannah were perfect. Hannah is starting her own firm, but in order to do so, she needs access to her trust fund which her mom and stepdad refuse to give until she settles down with the "right kind of man." She thinks that faking an engagement is the way to do it. Enter Matthew, Selma's brother. (Refresher, Selma is dating Easton, Hannah's partner in this new firm.) What starts as a deception quickly boils into something more. Thinking they can get by with a one night thing, it isn't long before they realize that that really isn't the case.

While I wish the book had a bit more closure in terms of Hannah's relationship to her parents, I absolutely loved how quickly and yet how deep Hannah and Matthew fell for each other. Matthew doubts himself and his worth because he was never the smartest kid in the class and here is Hannah who thrives on researching constitutional law. It was great watching them fall for each other because you could tell that while their relationship was fast, it was real.

All in all, a quick read that kept me hooked.

Also...I cannot freaking wait for Griff's book. I feel like I've been waiting for ever.

I liked most of the book, but I can't stop feeling unsatisfied. I expected some answers when it came to Hannah's mother who changed her behavior when she remarried and why she was letting her husband control her to a point where she was hurting her daughter. Also, I wanna know what happened to all that money. I hope the author will give us an answer to that before the series ends which is gonna happen soon since we only have two months before the year ends. And speaking of that, is it bad that I hope Elena and Brent will end up together? We saw so much of her, but she didn't get a happy ending and it will be a shame not to give her one.

I realized that even though we don't see many of the side characters in this book the story was still rushed and it wasn't one of the best we have gotten so far. I liked that drama in the end though and I didn't find it forced. It proved that these two had real feelings for each other, especially on Hannah's part and I was happy with it.

While In too deep is not a winner, it's still a good book and I would recommend it with a tiny dose of hesitation.

In Too Deep is 10th book of Man of the Month calendar contest.

This story is about Hannah who is a laywer and who fall for Matthew, a high school drop out who owns 3 health gyms.

Matthew doesn't think he's good enough for Hannah, but Hannah proves him wrong.

Hannah is starting her own practice with her best friend Easton. Hannah needs 50,000 of start up money and needs to ask her mom and stepdad for it. But they will only give her the money if Hannah is in a relationship with a guy who they believe is good enough for her. So Hannah asked Matthew to pretend to be her fiance for the weekend and trick her parents into believing Matthew is the stand up man they believe is right for her. Hannah needs an acceptable husband and Matthew is, well, available as he is the brother of a friend.

And, for some reason, I never really believed in the Happily Ever After ending for them. Do I think there was an attraction? I do. Do I think they will be together for the long run? No. They are too different, the connection outside of the "fake relationship" just never felt tangible to me.

I think, at least for me, this book and the relationship felt too quick. All of the Man of the Month books are short, and they are definitely quicker and lighter reads...but this one, while I enjoyed it, didn't catch me and engage me as well as the other titles.

I am not saying I didn't like it. I did...I just didn't love it, and I wasn't as drawn to it as to the other titles. I do recommend this, as a Happily for Now book that was an enjoyable read.

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

Hello Matthew and Hannah! I loved this story. I'm sad that these super amazing books will be ending soon. I loved the chemistry and spark these two amazing characters had.

It was fun to watch these two fall. Hannah needs some help convincing her parents that she's on the right track. To do that, she needs a fake fiancé. Meet Matthew. And why would Matthew turn down the opportunity! Hannah is everything he's ever wanted and more. Now they just have to convince her family so she can get the money to start her law firm with Easton.

This book is everything we have come to love from The Man of the Month novels. We get to see all our old friends, which I love. It's great, but not to overwhelming. J. Kenner has a real talent for writing strong hero's and heroine's, and Hannah and Matthew might be my favorite by far. But I say that with all of these books, so... Check it out and make your own judgment. This book can be read as a standalone, but why miss all the action before.

“He’d felt it—felt her—humming through him. Like he’d walked too close to a transformer, and his body had begun to buzz from the electricity in the air.”

Another great read that will have you turning the pages faster and faster since you will be so committed to these characters and wanting to see where their journey takes them. What appears on the surface is opposite personalities...yet when you really look they are both loyal, career oriented, passionate and like minded.

“Her body was gloriously sore, and she was wonderfully relaxed. Her only regret, in fact, was that there wasn’t going to be a repeat performance. They’d set down strict rules, after all.

This book has humor, passion, friendship, strength, regret, hope, deceit and acceptance. What happens when you feel you are being forced to please others in order to make your dreams come true...you fake it...or are you being authentic to yourself...

Looking forward to the next Man of the Month book Light My Fire. I can’t wait to meet Griffin. This series just keeps tugging at my heart. I’m sure Griffin won’t disappoint.

In Too Deep is an entertaining and sexy fake relationship that becomes all too real. Matthew is busy running his very successful gym with a few different locations around Austin. He's sexy, charming, generous, and a great advertisement for his gym. Hannah is finally ready to take that leap and partner with Easton in their own private law practice. She's smart, independent, and very focused on her career. Matt is definitely interested in Hannah, which means he is the best candidate for the fake temporary fiancé she desperately needs. They click right away and have chemistry that's hard to walk away from, despite her insistence that she's not in a place for a relationship. It was great to have Selma and Easton (All Night Long) as secondary characters along with the rest of the crew from the bar. In Too Deep can be read as a standalone in a fun and sexy series.

Attraction, Hannah only wanted one to think the funds to open the firm with her friend Easton. But when a fake engagement led to a little romance with her best friends brother will the stop at just one night or will she fight for me because Matthew thinks he's not good of enough for her. Watch this love story unfolded and see who wins in the end. Her Step-father or the guy she thinks she cannot have.

Still in love with this fun and sexy series revolving around all the great characters at our favorite bar! This is Matthew and Hannah's story and I loved these two together! There's a mutual attraction between these two, but they've never acted on it until Hannah needs Matthew to pretend to be her fiance. This leads us on a fun and sexy journey and leaves you rooting for these two. Hannah is willing to give up her dream to be with Matthew and I absolutely loved it! Can't wait for the next book!
