The Amish Millionaire is a compilation of the 6 novellas that were released separately by Wanda and Jean Brunstetter. It was so nice to read the entire series in one book, as each story ended with a cliff hanger. The Amish Millionaire is the story of the Byler’s family and especially Joel who left his family for the English world. Joel’s separation from the family and his focus only on his desires without the consequences for his finances made this an interesting read. The depth and detail of each family member and character in this series brought this Amish fiction to life as well as their love for their brother to return home. Without giving away any spoilers, I would encourage fans of Amish fiction to read this book to see how life can be cut short along with finding inner peace through God’s love and truly caring for others.

I borrowed this book from our library, thus a review was not required. However, I have expressed my own opinion.

Joel Byler left the Amish church a number of years ago and couldn't get over his love of money and worldly things. He neglected his family but when his father died, he constantly bothered them to produce their father's will. The will required him to make some changes in his life before he could receive his inheritance, which made him furious. Is he going to change? Does he finally let go of his selfish desires and way of life?

Book 1: The English Son-
Meet businessman Joel Byler who has gotten himself into a financial bind and his eccentric, wealthy Amish father who is done bailing out his spoiled son. When will Joel learn he most pay for his own mistakes—and at what cost to his business, his fiancée, and his Amish siblings? This book is one I couldn't put down and was excited to carry on the second book immediately. This book was full of highs and lows. It was a quick read and you wont be able to put it down. You'll wonder what will happen next and I promise, it will be interesting.

Book 2: The Stubborn Father-
In Part 2, The Stubborn Father, feel the pain of widower Eustace Byler who stands out in his Amish community for his eccentricity and his wealth and mourns both is deceased wife and living son. Can father and son come to an understanding about their different choices in life before time runs out?
Another great and easy read, but of course we are left with a cliffhanger, which is why you'll be turning the pages to get through this 6-1 series. I couldn't believe how quickly I finished this and overall I enjoyed the english- amish story line.

Book 3- The Betrayed Fiancee-
In Part 3, The Betrayed Fiancée, experience the hurt along with Kristi Palmer when she learns the man she planned to marry has squandered their joint savings on his selfish desires. Can trust broken ever be mended? In this story, I felt that the characters depth has really grown. Kristi learns a lot about Joel finally as she has potentially suspected and this story line keeps growing.

Book 4- The Missing Will-
Meet businessman Joel Byler who has gotten himself into a financial bind and his eccentric, wealthy Amish father who is done bailing out his spoiled son. When will Joel learn he most pay for his own mistakes—and at what cost to his business, his fiancée, and his Amish siblings?
Oh, this book will keep you on your toes as you find out if the will is found. Kristi had to make a tough decision, will she make the right one? Does Doris have her baby? This story is filled with more cliff hangers and you will keep turning the pages to see how this book wraps up!

Book 5- The Divided Family-
Meet businessman Joel Byler who has gotten himself into a financial bind and his eccentric, wealthy Amish father who is done bailing out his spoiled son. When will Joel learn he most pay for his own mistakes—and at what cost to his business, his fiancée, and his Amish siblings?
This book is filled with tradgey as we learn about Doris. Joel is rather annoying in this book. There is a house fire.. This book is filled with a lot of sadness. I hope that we wrap up this series in the last and final book in six with a happy note.

Book 6- The Selfless Act
Meet businessman Joel Byler who has gotten himself into a financial bind and his eccentric, wealthy Amish father who is done bailing out his spoiled son. When will Joel learn he most pay for his own mistakes—and at what cost to his business, his fiancée, and his Amish siblings?
Overall, I think this 6-1 ended well. It was perfect and neither was Joel, but I enjoyed it.

Overall, I thought the writing in this 6-1 series was good. There were lots of trials and cliffhangers. This is hard to put down, especially because you want to know what happens. I recommend reading them all together in a week or two weeks. It's easier to follow along. I love that the whole series is in one paperback book, so you don't have all the small books separate. Fans of Wanda and Jean will love this series and will be captivated by the entire journey of emotions you on go through this series. I promise you will not be able to put them down!

THE AMISH MILLIONAIRE (BOXED SET) BY WANDA BRUNSTETTER AND JEAN BRUNSTETTER

The Amish Millionaire is a series of six serial novels. The books are about an unique Amish family, who live in Holmes County Ohio, and their journey through life full of doubt, faith, hope and love.
BOOK ONE - THE ENGLISH SON. Joel Byler left the Amish community and is living the good life. Joel asks his eccentric and wealthy Amish father, Eustance, for cash loans again and again, as Joel has over extended himself. How many times will his father keep giving him money until his patience wears thin.
BOOK TWO - THE STUBBORN FATHER. Eustance Byler, an eccentric, wealthy Amish widower morns the loss of his wife, he also mourns the loss of his son, Joel to the English world. After loaning Joel money time and time again, he is done giving Joel the money he asks for. Eustance feels that it is time for him to fulfill his own dreams Will Joel and his father mend their differences before it is too late.
BOOK THREE - THE BETRAYED FIANCEE. Joel Byler and his fiancée, Kristi Palmer have a joint account at the bank. When Joel takes money from the account, without telling Kristi she learns that Joel has been hiding things from her, like his Amish upbringing. Having enough, Kristi is done with Joel.
BOOK FOUR - THE MISSING WILL. When Eustance Byler suddenly dies, is family begins searching for his will. The relationship between the family members begin to deteriorate and so does Joel's relationship to his fiancée. Joel is desperate for the will to be found, so he can settle his own debts.
BOOK FIVE - THE DIVIDED FAMILY. While grieving their father's death, and settling his estate, the Byler family faces their own crisis - sickness, loss and disaster. But can Joel but aside his own selfish behavior and pull the family together, or will he leave.
BOOK SIX - THE SELFLESS ACT. In order for Joel, and his sisters, to get their part of their father's estate, Joel must perform a "Selfless Act" that has to be approved by his aunt and his sisters. Will Joel be able to stop being selfish and put his own needs aside and think of his family.
All six of these books in The Amish Millionaire collection are well written and you want to keep reading them. At the end of the book, there is a recipe for Millionaires Pie. I highly recommend this collection of books.

I wasn't a fan of the serial format and found there had to be a disaster for each of the 6 books. How many hardships can one family have?! While reading the books I felt there was no real purpose to the stories and that they were figuring it out as they went along, but by the end I realized they did have the ending worked out and had a plan. I put the 6th book down and finally finished it months later. I'd recommend trying to buy a boxed set of these books, as if you buy them individually like I did, it's much too expensive. I prefer Beverly Lewis' Amish books, but they get more into the nitty gritty and the advantages and pitfalls of Amish life. This series is much lighter on that and so I understand why the Amish like Wanda's books. One of my problems was that my favourite character and the one I could most relate to died in the first book.

To start off this book review, I want to mention that I listened to book 1 to 3 on Libby, and the other 3 on Hoopla.

This follows our main character, Joel Byler. He's more interested in making fortune than being around his family. when he goes to his father yet again, asking for more money, his father puts his foot down.

Then we have Joel's girlfriend, Kristi Palmer. When she finds out about his spending, she breaks up with him.

I give this book 3 stars, mainly because Joel was such a hard character to like. For me, it seemed like for more of the story, he was only thinking of himself. It's great that he changed in the end, but still, I found it hard to like him most of the time.

I was very proud of Kristi for staying strong and not getting back together with Joel till almost the very end of the story.

This might bw one to skip. Not worth a reread, in my opinion.

I have seen the book offered in 'serial novel' form in 6 little books, but this is all-in-one and the stories fit together seamlessly. The reader will follow the life and plight of a prodigal son in Holmes County, Joel Byler, whose struggles and situations affect everyone around him. Joel learns many important life lessons along the way, and so do his family and friends. Wanda Brunstetter is a master of combining Amish and English (non-Amish) into one story, which makes it relatable and so very heartwarming! This book is no different, and the different viewpoints throughout the story really let the reader understand each character thoroughly. There is happiness and heartbreak, sickness and wellness, death and life, and struggle and victory. It is a page turner for sure!

This was released as a serial novel, and this book combines all sections into the full novel. It's a wonderful story of the Byler family, who live in Ohio. The father became a millionaire when he agreed to have oil wells on his property. An eccentric man, he was loved by his three daughters and their families. His son, Joel, however, broke his heart by leaving the Amish faith (after joining the church) to become English in search of fortune. Unfortunately, many bad, seflish decisions leave Joel in a major financial bind in his contracting business and his personal life. How far does Joel have to fall before he realizes the true answer to his heart's desire?

Wanda Brunstetter is one of those authors I don't even have to read the back cover to see if it sounds good. She always gives wonderful stories set in an Amish community and her characters and plots are so real I always feel like I am a part of them.
This collection from Wanda, The Amish Millionaire Series, is a wonderful group of six short books set into one series. Each book just captured me from the beginning and I couldn't wait to start the next story to see what was going to happen next. I loved how Wanda left us hanging with each book up until the very end.

"The Amish Millionaire" by Wanda Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter. Joel was formerly Amish, but left his family in not very good terms. He falls in love with Kristi, but he has lots of secrets and winds up overspending and gets in financial straits. His father is Amish, but very wealthy because there was oil found on his land. However, his father will not give him a loan because he has in the past and it was never repaid. Joel has to face up to his own failings after he and Kristi break up.

Fun book series by Wanda Brunstetter and her daughter-in-law Jean Brunstetter.
With these short books (which were released one at a time over six months) they take you through some of the hardest challenges families go through and weave in a story of lifelong love and kindness and faith in God. I love reading about Amish communities found in Wanda's books.

This series was better than I thought it would be. All the characters had their own story lines and each book in the series told its own story but yet it brought them all together like it was one book. I liked the way it ended with the son finding his Faith and still being a part of his Amish family.

This was a very interesting novel about an Amish son that left his family and his Amish faith seven years earlier and the strained relationship that they now have. I enjoyed reading as this story unfolded and learned about all the family members. I couldn’t put the book down. Fans of Brunstetter will not be disappointed with this novel.

Interesting

This was an amazing and interesting book, that was very different from this author's general style. It was intreging and suspenseful from the beginning. I loved waiting until the very end to see how Joel would do his part so everyone could get their inheritance. What he did was shocking.

Joel Byler is a spoiled young Amish man who has turned English. He goes into debt to buy an expensive car. He tries to borrow money from his father, but his father is through bailing out his son.

Good book. It is not riveting, but still good.

Amish romance. Serial novel. Need to read all 6 parts to get the whole story. Each ends with a cliffhanger (except for pt. 6). Taken together it(they) constitute a good story, but I was not able to get all of the parts on the same trip to the library.

Very good story but I don't know why it had to be made into 6 smaller books. The library only had the first book in e-books. A real teaser. Then I bought the 2nd book from Amazon before I found that I could buy the 6 books together.

This series of 6 books put into this one volume was about what I expected. I could pretty much predict the ending from the beginning. I was curious enough to keep reading though. Good message at the end.

So, it took me a good few chapters to get into the book, but by the end of Part 1, I was hooked, and I'm now very sad to be saying good bye to the characters I've come to love. Heat warming story.
