I LOVED this story. Watching Nikki from start to finish and how she goes from young and meeting Elijah to years later seeing Elijah again and finally getting him is such a turn on man I loved it. Elijah fights his attraction when he first meets Nikki. He knows he can not have her, his job is everything to him. Even if she submits to everything he says. So when they finally find themselves on a more even ground he swears he will get her in his bed. But will she be more than he can handle? I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Holy fuck this book was a mess. Guys with British accents are always a plus and the audiobook narrator did a good job, but the whole BDSM aspect of this was absolutely tragic. Not a good portrayal or representation of D/s at all, and the "Dom" was an absolute joke. No mentions of safewords until way later when the girl has to bring it up herself. And what the heck is the whole "I tie people up, I refuse to get tied down (emotionally attached)". Where is the logic in that. Go suck several dicks, mister.
But the students' lesbian pirate stories were hilarious, that was a fun scene.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Elijah and Nikki. They were never supposed to get together but once they did they couldn't get enough of what the other could give. The only hick-up is I was Nikki got pregnant. Can they find a way to still be that thing for one another or will this be the end?
This book is amazing it will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There is so much I want to tell you about this book but don't want to give anything away to any other readers. I would however highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

It took me a bit to become ensconced in the story of Nicole (call me Nikki) and Professor Elijah Leeds, but once I got a true taste of their personalities – which really emerged during the role-playing fantasy featuring Betty-Sue and Rock the Biker – I was hooked. The blistering hot sex scenes were rather absorbing and attention-grabbing, too.
Knocked Up and Tied Down takes the teacher-student taboo relationship above and beyond the initial meet, lust, grunt, and go dynamic. The story starts in the classroom six years prior, when the heroine, Nicole, completes a semester abroad at Oxford. She’s attracted to her German literature professor, and even though he feels the same way about her and nearly succumbs to temptation, he’s not willing to forfeit all he has worked so hard toward career-wise.
Nicole returns to the States to complete her schooling, and as fate would have it, she lands an interview for a graduate teaching assistant position with none other than Dr. Leeds, who has accepted a faculty job at the University of Pittsburgh. Things are different this time around, and they both decide to take advantage of the second chance. The one problem, though, is that Nikki has to come to terms with Dr. Leeds’ admission that they won’t always be together – though he’s even having a difficult time convincing himself that should continue to be his MO with women when it comes to Nikki.
Probably my favorite part of the book was when the couple played out Nikki’s fantasy. It brought out a playful side and exposed both of their personalities. This section, in particular, was expertly executed.
The approach Dr. Leeds took to Nikki’s announcement was sweet, even though her initial response – understandably – was to interpret it as anger and rejection.

Nikki is an 18 year old student that went to school abroad for a semester. She walked into a class with her friend, late and scared, when she saw the teacher. He's the most handsome man she has ever met. Mr. Elijah Leed is the teacher she saw. He's never been attracted to a student before but he can't take his eyes off her. Nikki tried and tried to get him to be hers but he refused because he didn't want to lose his job. Six years later Nikki found him at his new office and applied to be his TA. He has waited six years but he can't wait to have her any longer. Elijah doesn't want to be tied down to any woman. Will Nikki be able to convince him to be hers forever or will she let him walk away?
This was a wild ride. Their first encounter was definitely heart stopping. The electricity they have is incredible. The way she tries so hard is a huge part of the story. Rosie was a buzz kill. The six year wait is torture. I feel bad that she had to have vanilla sex with terrible men. The elevator was the turning point. The classes they taught was something else. The paper she slips secretly is quite smart. The bar Elijah sees her in for her fantasy was perfect. At the end of the story it just stopped. I was quite upset about that. I didnt like it at all. The epilogue was okay but the end of it was perfect. Not too bad at all.

Nikki Faria was fortunate to be able to attend Oxford to complete a semester abroad from Penn State. It was there she met Elijah Leeds, a German lit professor which she was obsessively attracted to, but which he turned away from. This another wonderfully written story by Melinda Minx! This is a story about Nikki who has gone to Oxford for a semester abroad to study. He is one hot and sexy professor, Elijah is out to own her! Elijah has some very strong desires and will only control any interactions he has with women. I love how Nikki’s reacts on the 1st day of school and once she becomes comfortable she goes after what she wants. Elijah now she can not ever have Nikki due to the strict rules so right before she leaves they have a coming to that leaves Nikki full empty of something she can not figure out. Six years later Nikki applies to be his TA and her voice alone wakens the need Elijah has controlled. Can Elijah let go of his ability to control himself and given in to Nikki and what the both want? Will Nikki be able to handle what Elijah gives her and move on after? This great story does touch on BDSM and it’s enjoyable. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Knocked Up and Tied Down is sexy and a bit naughty with the teacher/student aspect and sort of a second chance romance. While Elijah and Nikki don't actually seal the deal the first time around, the attraction is certainly there.
Elijah is an oh so sexy professor and it's all he can do to not act on his attraction to his student. He and Nikki can't forget their magnetic pull and when they come together a few years later, it's fan yourself sexy and they can't get enough of each other. Of course, as is obvious from the title, an unexpected pregnancy throws a wrench into the works.
I can't say that I necessarily felt the romance between this pair, but the sexual chemistry is definitely there. It is an interesting story, but I felt that a bit more development on the romance between Elijah and Nikki could've easily transformed this one into a five-star read.
While this isn't my favorite book from Minx, it is well worth the read and I will continue to check out future works from her.

Nikki is studying in Oxford for the semester. The first day she walks into her German Lit class late and catches the attention of the teacher, Elijah. Despite both wanting more, there is a rule against teacher and students dating and Elijah can't put his career at risk. Six years later, Nikki is interviewing for a TA position at Pittsburg University. Elijah is shocked when his interviewee is Nikki. What they wanted can now be but Elijah tells Nikki that he doesn't want anything longterm, no marriage for him. Nikki is shocked when Elijah ignores her after their one night together. When Elijah changes his mind, he'll need to convince Nikki he wants more. Melinda has outdone herself again. The book was easy to get lost in and another great read!

So I liked it but it was okayyyyy. Elijah is the older professor and Nikki the YOUNG exchange student. Instant attraction happens. One thing I DID like about this story was that Elijah was able to hold himself back (for the most part) because she was so much younger (and, yeah, it could harm his career). When they get their second chance years later the action heats up! The thing is, though, I couldn't get into Nikki. She starts saying she is on scholar as exchange student so she has to study, then we don't see much of that and more of plotting to get her professor. Sure she was young at their first meeting, but even though six years pass, I didn't really see much maturity, only the same....hmmm how do I get him attitude. Maybe that's just me.

What a read by Melinda Minx about a professor, Elijah and his student, Nicole. She tries everything to get him to notice her while she is his student abroad and notices her he does but can’t do anything about it because it would ruin his career. Six years later she is now his TA and the tension is still there between them but will he actually act upon considering it’s still taboo and could get him fired.
A great steamy that draws out the tension between them until it finally snaps and a scene with role playing that is hot. I enjoyed these two even if in the beginning Nicole acted a bit immature and selfish, not worrying what it could do to his career and only thinking of herself and teasing him all semester but the wait, teasing, innuendos was worth it.

Nikki went to Oxford as a foreign exchange student, and she couldn't afford to deviate from her academic plans. But the moment she sees Professor Elijah Leeds, she can't stop thinking about him. Elijah has worked his entire life to get where he is now, and he can't afford to jeopardize his career, no matter how badly he wants Nikki. This romance was erotically charged, yet full of angst and indecision, as they each battled their own feelings. The path this story paved was emotional and one of exploration and discovery. I enjoyed it very much. I would have liked Nikki to be a little less forward though, I would've preferred she be portrayed a little more innocent at the beginning of the story.

It was good but it went by quick and skipped around. Nikki was American transfer student in Oxford when Elijah (28) was a teacher and Nikki (18) met. Sparks flow but he valued his career over a student. He sent her packing back to America heated. But 6 years later Nikki applies for a TA for credits for her Ph.D and her new boss is non other then her professor Dr. Leeds. Their connection seemed better when they were role-playing or scene-ing with his Dom and her willingness to submit. Obviously their have unprotected sex their first time and bam she's knocked up and dreading to tell Elijah the truth. Then the ending sunk up and was done. Quick. There was no big epic battle-ish, no depth just lust, sex, and role-playing.

Nikki is taking part in a “student abroad programme”, and when she meets Elijah Leeds there is an instant lust connection between them. However, Elijah has worked hard to be where he is, so these two have a complicated relationship. When these two meet again six years later, all bets are off! No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a well written story which flows seamlessly, and I was hooked and intrigued throughout. I recommend this author’s work for all teacher / student lovers out there, and I look forward to reading more of her work.

If you like a teacher/student read then you will like reading Elijah & Nikki’s story. The moment they saw each other they both wanted each other but rules are rules. Now years later Nikki wants to be Professor Leeds TA and so much more. But Elijah doesn’t want too be tied down. Can Nikki be the one to change how he feels? Good Read with great characters and the sex they have is hot and Nikki’s fantasy will have you reading non stop.

Wow, this book just grabbed hold of me from the start. Elijah and Nicole heat up the pages with their interactions - clever wordplay and using the teaching to get a rise out of each other. As their relationship changes their craving for each other gets stronger and they have steamy, hot, lusty, passionate sex. When things change for Nicole she’s afraid Elijah will end the relationship - but he’s decided they will be tied together forever. Loved reading this book - new author for me - and I will definitely read her again.

It had the perfect mix of sweet and spicy...
I love when Melinda comes out with another fantastic book. It is everything you imagine when you are in college. Smoking professor, dirty deeds, men living out your fantasties. Nikki and Elijah were absolutely out if this world. I loved how she just went for what she wanted but still had to wait. I loved that Elijah knew what he wanted and took it. It had the perfect mix of sweet and spicy with an added dose of drop dead sexy.

Nikki and Elijah are great characters with real depth. When they first meet, in Oxford, the attraction between them glows, sadly it's a case of right place, wrong time.
Fast forward six years and they meet again in Pittsburgh...and this time it's no holds barred!
Elijah is almost the perfect Dom and Nikki is, well, not quite the perfect sub.
The story flows smoothly and I read it in one sitting.

A very well written book. I like the storyline and plot. It is a romance about teacher/student and younger woman/older man. It has lots of chemistry and a well balanced story. I like that Elijah in first place has some commonsense also towards the instant attraction to Nikki. Later when they meet again after 6 years they get their second chance. A story with romance, lots of emotions and chemistry. Nikki was a bit off for me but she develops to the better.

DNF @15% (ch 9 p 58) - i added this to my tbr since it was part of Audible Plus but it seems to be living the free titles on October 30th, 2024 so i thought to read it now. pretty sure this is my first time with this author and it just didn't work with me. this was 100% insta-lust-to-love/obsession territory with no lead up or chemistry between these two... Oxford teacher & his student but nothing happened, fast forward to 6 years later, they are back together. him as a teacher in the US now and she will be his TA... i dont care...

I loved reading the amazing and awesome romance story. Nikki fell for her Professor six years ago but Elijah would not give into temptation. Now six years later, Nikki is Elijah's teacher's assistant working on her PHD, Elijah wants Nikki but there is a couple of drawbacks, he wants total submission and no white picket fences. Nikki decides to enjoy the time she has with Elijah until she becomes pregnant. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read love story.

There is Nikki and Elijah. They met six years prior during a study abroad program. There was an instant connection but they did not act on it. When they meet again and the attraction is still there. Will they act on it? Will it be all consuming? Good character development and very likeable characters. Really steamy scenes and a few good surprises. Enjoy!

This was an entertaining story about a professor and at first his student and then eventually his TA. Nikki and Elijah have instant attraction from the first day of her classes, but it takes six years for her to come back into his life as his TA and the sparks continue to fly, but now his job is not in jeopardy. But can this relationship last or will this just be a few months of great sex and then he walks away? With a fun storyline and great characters this story is a must read.

Elijah and Nikki first meet when he is teaching her college class and there is an attraction that can’t be acted on. Now it is six years later and Nikki is applying for a TA position and Elijah is the one interviewing her. The chemistry is still there and oh so steamy and they decide to act on it, will this be more than just a one-night stand? I liked the story, plenty of drama and very steamy. A fun and entertaining read.

A Review of Knocked Up And Tied Down by Melinda Minx

This was a totally different take on the teacher/student story that we've read before. Once I started reading this book, I could NOT put it down. The characters were vibrant and very easy to relate to. I don't want to give spoilers, but it is definitely worth taking the time to read.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Loved this book. Nikki spends a semester abroad in England and falls hard for her German lit professor, Elijah Leeds. Never been tempted before by a student, Elijah longs to give in an dominate Nikki but is torn between lust and not ruining his career. Six years later Elijah is in the US as a professor and Nikki ends up bring his TA. School is in session and a bun is in the oven. Great story.

While this was a hit in the spice category, apparently I need more content to go with the spice. Just wasn't my favorite story.
I listened to this in audio and the narration was fine. I enjoyed the British accent for Elijah's character and had no problem with the narration for Nikki.
Note: I received a review copy of this title courtesy of the audiobook publisher, Tantor.
