About the author

The author of over 80 books in a little over a decade of writing, Dan Gutman has written on topics from computers to baseball. Beginning his freelance career as a nonfiction author dealing mostly with sports for adults and young readers, Gutman has concentrated on juvenile fiction since 1995. His most popular titles include the time-travel sports book Honus and Me and its sequels, and a clutch of baseball books, including The Green Monster from Left Field. From hopeful and very youthful presidential candidates to stunt men, nothing is off limits in Gutman's fertile imagination. As he noted on his author Web site, since writing his first novel, They Came from Centerfield, in 1994, he has been hooked on fiction. "It was fun to write, kids loved it, and I discovered how incredibly rewarding it is to take a blank page and turn it into a WORLD."

Gutman was born in New York City in 1955, but moved to Newark, New Jersey the following year and spent his youth there.

This book features ice cream, which is interesting in itself. It also has a mystery!

Mr Will is an ice cream man and he comes to stop by the school every day, but their principal (not Mr. Klutz because he is away at principal camp) Dr. Carbles is really mean and got really mad that Mr. Will was coming to the school every day and playing the jingle song. So he tied Mr. Will to a chair and put him on the roof of the school and all he ate was ice cream for a whole week. AJ's class and Principal Klutz helped when he got back from principal camp.

AJ has trouble with Mr. Will the ice cream man. AJ sneaks out of school and tries to buy ice cream from Mr. Will but he is out of all his favorite flavors. Dr. Carvel is trying to keep the kids away from Mr. Will and the kids are stuck trying to figure out how to get to Mr. Will... if he has ice cream!

My fourth graders loved this installment of AJ's Weirdest School adventures.

When Mr. Klutz attends a principal's camp. Dr. Carbles fills in as principal. He puts in place a restraining order on the ice cream truck driving by Mr. Will, and brings down everyone's morale. Will A.J. and his class mates at Ella Mentry school ever have ice cream again, and what has become of Mr. Will? Something weird is about to happen, as it always does.

The author of this book is Dan gutman. The title of this book is Mr. Will needs to chill. The book is about a kid named A.J. and he loves ice cream. There’s an ice cream truck that comes to the parking lot by the school. He and his friends want to get some ice cream from that ice cream truck. But there’s one problem: the principal and vice principals are going to principal camp. So they have a substitute principal who is the school’s board of education teacher. His name is dr. Carbles and he is very strict. So once A.J. tries to go, and get ice cream he gets the ice cream but is stopped by dr. Carbles. Ever since that incident he has got an electric fence, and guard towers up. He also makes them, and the teachers are depressed. But then the principal comes back and for some reason they get free ice cream in the morning, and the people in the ice cream van are actually teachers that the principal hired. So when the students go to get ice cream they are actually having a lesson on a random subject each time. And for some reason Mr. Will got kidnapped on the top of the school roof. The person that did this was dr. Carbles kidnapped him because. He was mad at Mr. Will because he kept coming on his property. Something I like about this book is when A.J. tries to escape from under the fence, and tries to get ice cream. Another one is when he has to march at recess, and talks about where Mr. Will went. A couple things I don’t like about this book is that Dr. Carbles is very strict, and that Mr. Will askes A.J. what flavor he wants it distracts him from trying to get his ice cream. I would rate this book three out of five stars. The reason I chose three out of five stars is because. This book has special parts in it. Also it has some different and cool parts as well. One of my favorite parts is when dogs come after A.J., and catch him running with his ice cream. That is my reason why I like this book. I would recommend this book to people that like the funny type of genre.

Mr Will Needs To Chill By Dan Gutman is a book about how there is a weird school and the principles go to principles camp to learn how to teach better. So they have a substitute principle named Dr. Cables. Who does not like the ding dong ice-cream truck that parks outside the school at recess. So one the first day that he is substitute the kids sneak under the fence at recess to go to the ding dong ice-cream truck. But when they sneak out the sub brings a tank and a army that chase. Then when the real principle comes back he lets them get ice-cream for free every day. But when they get ice-cream it is a knew guy every day and they always take forever telling learning stuff. Then the one day they go to the principles office to ask him why they get free ice-cream and why there is a knew ding dong guy every day. Butt when they are in the principles office they hear the word help come from the roof. So they go up there and there is Mr Will the original ding dong guy. And he is covered in ice-cream tied to a chair and is very mad. So they ask what he ate and all he had was ice-cream. Butt he was mad and all the children were confused because why was he mad because they would love to ice-cream all week. That is why Mr Will needs to chill. This book connects to this month's theme scary or funny because it is funny. I give this book a 5/5 because it was short kept my attention and was funny. I recommend this book to people who like funny books.

Mr will Needs to Chill! by Dan Gutman is a really good book and I will show you why. The main character is A.J. and he is in elementary school and it is super weird. One day at recess A.J. decided he wanted some ice cream so he climbed under the fence and got some ice cream. Mr.Klutz the principal and the vice principal go to principal camp every year and see a lot of other principals. then the school brought in a substitute principal Dr.Carbles and he caught A.J. and he is super strict he drives a tank to school. He then kidnapped Mr.Will the ding dong ice cream truck worker and tied him up in a chair on the roof of the school. I give this book 5 stars because it is funny and interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who likes funny books.
