As the last battle draws near, Chase’s confidence is shaken from losing Zeus and Olympus. As tensions arise between Chase and those in his group on how to proceed next, he cautions against rushing to Erevos against everyone else’s wishes.

Meanwhile, the Emperor is tasked to reclaim the Gorgar home world with the help of Ryonna, Tar’Lock, and Keera. But they soon discover many things have changed since their last visit.

Arakan returns to his home world, overconfident that he can take on anyone that’s standing in his way. But something dark is looming over Erevos; a malevolent force that will stop at nothing to get what it wants.

Christian Kallias’ Universe in Flames has been an incredible ride and now, in its ninth (and second to last) book, Into the Fire Part I: Requiem of Souls, that ride is finally approaching it’s ultimate destination. As implied by its name, this is the first half of a two part finale. The size of that finally is an indication that not only is the series going out with a bang but that this will not be a simple bang but rather it will be a nuclear bomber sized explosive bang. Everything is on the line for our hero Chase in an incredible plot full of thrilling action in which he and his friends and allies are taking on a virtually indestructable enemy from another dimension with the fate of the universe hanging in the balance.

Anyone up for some fun with Greek and Norse Gods, Magic, mythology and Sci Fi somehow blended together into a surprisingly good fit? If so, this is your book.

Readers who have been following along will not be disappointed by this book 9. It’s easily five stars of wonderful. Newcomers should beware though that this book presumes a lot of back knowledge. You only need to look at the kindle blurb, incomprehensible to the newcomer, to see how dependent on the prior books this one is. So go back, preferably to book 1, and start a new, incredible, adventure that will ultimately lead to here.

I'm not quite sure why I'm still reading these. There is an ongoing story here, which I suppose is a hook. Other reviews have praised the characters. I can't, because they are all the same person. All are angry, all intolerant, all hasty of thought and action, all, in fact, intemperate hotheads. All speak with the same voice, although how a Swiss of Greek extraction has become addicted to American Midwest dialogue beats me. There is no attempt, as far as I can tell, to provide distinguishing character to any of the many races introduced over the ten-book story arc, which is the worst failing here.

As to the rest, well, the story seems to proceed from one Moon/Earth/solar system/universe shattering climax to another. There are nods to family issues, all usually resolved by a saccharine moment either following or preceding an enormous action sequence involving vast forces generated in some mysterious way by 'aura'. No real character development occurs past the point where any given character accedes to incredible individual mental or physical prowess or gives in to the principle characters' pleas to become good, or denies them to become more evil.

All in all this is about as cardboard as one could imagine space opera at its worst, beating E. E. Smith by many miles. I might read the last in this story arc, I might not, many better ways to spend my time beckon. I certainly won't try any more of the authors long sagas, it's not worth my time.

I suspect the author does have it in him to write good work, he does write after all. But these are not that work. Yet. Best of luck Christian.

Combine Sci-fi Space Opera with Mythology and epic heroes, toss in an enviable ability to bring life to the characters

and add in the descriptive, realistic combat action sequences and you have 9 books of the Universe in Flames Series.

This is the first book in the series I've read, and I had so much fun with it that I've acquired the first two trilogies to catch up! Combining mythology with sci-fi is brilliant! This is one of the best concepts for an epic tale that I've read in ages. I only wish I had started at the beginning, but that's easily solved. My next review will be of Earth - Last Sanctuary, book 1 in the Universe in Flames Series.

Brilliant writing, good research and the ability of a master storyteller made this read unforgettable and hugely entertaining! Give it a try and, trust me, you'll not be sorry.

I loved it! Wow! This puts the Gods in a whole different light. Fantastic good guys, fantastic bad guys, fantastic good guys that used to be bad guys. I'm new to this series but so far I'm really enjoying it. A unique plot and well written. It reads smoothly and at a fast pace with tons of action and a few twist. I recommend this story for all ages and can't wait for the next one. Thank you Christian for a fantastic read.

Superbly operatic. The Norse God's couldn't have done better.

A ten book series is always started with trepidation. Is it going to go stale with constants character growth, too much of a plot change making the ending completely out of character. Which is extremely difficult. Too many clues given or so few the surprise seems faked. This has been an awesome read the characters seem realistic the emotions not forced. All together a compelling read.

OUTSTANDING

Very well written. Part 1 of into the fire 🔥was better than expected and it clarified some relationships, such as the one/s that exists between Chase, Argos and their father who had not appeared in previous books. I look forward to reading part 2.

Action! Action! Action

Pure action and adrenalin. Not the most complicated of plots but if you are looking for straight action then look no further. Best of all the author is not afraid to kill off the good guys, makes it more realistic. Can't wait for the finale.

The saga continues, death of friends and enemies continue, new alliances are formed and a greater evil is found. Chase discovers more secrets from his past. This episode ends with the discoverer of a new enemy.

Fighting Furies

This is a very interesting story melding mythological figures to fight in an interstellar war against the Furies. Although a few of the of these Furies fight alongside these figures.

Great sequel. So many battles won and lost. Failure at the highest level but hope springs eternal. Enjoy the read.

TWISTS & TURNS!

I have never read any books like these. The excitement, tension and thrills that are ongoing are unbelievable. The multiple stories that are ongoing throughout the book, each with their roller coaster rides are captivating for this reader. I am enjoying the heck out of these books and am diving into the last one in this series now.

PExcellent the second time

I took some time to re-read Damocles Fall, which is part of the #10 book series Universe In Flames, a dynamite series written by Christian Kallias. This novella fleshed out a character that is a genius, among several other things. .His name is Spiros and like many geniuses, he is, at times, a hand full for his superiors. I suspect that he is not the only one of the so-called secondary characters that is doing whatever they can to get their own novella. I have also enjoyed
