This is a great introduction to the overall history of Hispanics/Latinos in the Americas. Special attention is paid to Latinos in the USA. Very easy read.

A good introduction to Latina/o history. The "current events" and anecdotes are dated but that's ok. I liked the question and answer format of the book; it helped make it informal, accessible, and "light." If you're looking for a more in depth history at any of the subjects or time periods covered I'm sure there are great books of a more academic nature out there.
