I love a series that is written by different authors (unique points of view) with common threads because I honestly feel like I'm one of the characters. Does anyone want to write a book about my return to Christmas Falls?

I think a lot of people have a place that is the anchor of their souls and is their true home and for London, that place is Christmas Falls. Although she was going through quite a phase when she lived there before (think "goth") and no one seems to recognize her now, this town has a hold on her...unless she decides to run away again. The homey, small-town descriptions, traditions, and residents resonate deep in my heart and I loved London's eye-opening experiences.

I love the idea of best friends finding love, but it's always a risk because if it doesn't work out, that friendship is over. I absolutely loved Andy, London's former neighbor and best friend. He's sweet, funny, and man, that guy oozes romance like you wouldn't believe. The chemistry is so swoony and the kisses will curl your toes (while staying clean, of course). Becky Monson has a way of developing characters with sass that you can't help but adore.

Content: mild+ romance (steamy clean kissing); mild language.

This was my favorite book of the series, bar none. I absolutely loved the "childhood friends reunited" angle to the romance, especially when each character is so easy to like! London was so fun and interesting, and the author really delved into what made her tick and how her transformation affected her. Andy is loveable and charming and of course unrequited love gets me every time! They had such great chemistry together and even when the inevitable conflict came, I was rooting for them the whole time. I felt connected to the emotions of London and Andy which is one of my favorite things about reading a well-written book. This is one I'll definitely re-read and since it's the first book I've read by the author it made me add all her other books to my list! Highly recommend, and it would be fine as a stand-alone even though it's in the middle of the series.

(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

London is having the worst day of her life. She's quit her job, her parents are getting a divorce, and her childhood mentor, Miss Anna Cate, is dying. Can't anything ever go right for her? In a bold move, she buys a plane ticket and runs home to Christmas Falls.

Upon returning, she wonders if she should've even come in the first place. No one remembers her. How can they just forget her like that? Of course she's no longer in her "goth" phase. But shouldn't they remember her for who she was, and not what she wore?

She's contemplating going to her parents to "referee" their divorce until she runs into Andy, the boy next door, her childhood best friend. Her heart will be crushed if he doesn't remember her. But she has nothing to worry about because one look at her and he knows exactly who she is! And to her surprise, nothing has changed between them... it's like they picked up where they had left off.

But something has changed... something inside. She feels nervous whenever she's around him... her heart beats double time, she's got butterflies, and her mind is constantly running with "what if's?". What are these feelings she is feeling? She and Andy are just friends, right? He can't possibly have the same feelings in return, can he? One mind blowing kiss with him lets her know that he most certainly can and is feeling the same feelings she is. *dreamy sigh*

However, one phone call from her mother ruins it all. According to her, London is doing what she does best... running. Her mind is filled with all kinds of doubt. Is any of this real? Is Christmas Falls home? Or is it just her next stop on the list of places she's running from? And what about her feelings for Andy? Are they real? Or is he just another escape for her?

Too many conflicting feelings sends her running to Miss Anna Cate. If anyone can help her to see and understand what's really going on, it's her. One heart to heart later and she knows exactly what she needs to do. She refuses to run again. This is going to be a fresh start, one that she's determined to fight for. For the first time in her life, she is grabbing hold of everything she wants in life and not letting it go... including Andy.

*dreamy sigh* Can I just say that I am loving Christmas Falls?! This is the perfect escape! I am so glad these authors decided to band together and create this wonderful world for us! I can't wait to see where we go next!

Can someone please tell me why I haven't read any of Ms. Monson's books before now?! She sucked me in from the very beginning, had me laughing out loud, tearing up and letting out little dreamy sighs. I can tell you that her other books that have been sitting on my kindle will be read sooner rather than later! ;)

And of course I just cannot forget my casting! *dreamy sigh* Oh how I love these two!

Man, I am so excited about this series. SO EXCITED! Last week I read Jennifer Peel's book and this week I've read Becky Monson's, Susan Hatler's and Beth Labonte's. (last two will have reviews next week) I'm really in love with these books individually as well as collectively. There are seven books in this series, each written by a different author about seven friends coming back together on Christmas Eve at the request of their beloved teacher and mentor, Miss Anna Cate. Miss Anna Cate appears in all the books as a trusted confidant and giver of wise counsel. Each book brings to light the personality and individual struggles of one of these old friends with a common goal of helping their community and Miss Anna Cate.

This book was so much fun. I loved London and Andy. Friends that become more is one of my favorite romantic set up's. I loved that Andy recognized London after years apart and some dramatic physical changes. Their friendship picks right back up until London realizes that she is feeling more that friendship for Andy. It's that very moment that I love the most. That realization that hits and the character is full of anxiety over it. Good stuff, that. Becky Monson really knows how to create moments in her books.

I feel like I'm becoming more and more invested in Christmas Falls. I want to go there. I want to sit on the bench by the falls and visit the shops oh, and eat sugar cookies! It's fun to have the cameo appearances by characters from different books to kind of tie them all together. This series is really starting to feel like home.

Sweet!

This is my favorite book in the series. I have already been back to reread sections of it a few times.

London returns to Christmas Falls to see her mentor, Miss Anna Cate. Her decision was an impulsive one after quitting her job in California, and finding out that her parents are getting divorced. She needed to run away, and Christmas Falls was always home.

Things don’t go how London expects. No one recognizes her since she has lost the goth look that she wore in high school. Then she runs into her old neighbor and friend, Andy Broll. Their friendship is so easy and natural, except for the butterflies in her stomach, and giving kisses on the cheek. Do friends do that?

I loved watching London struggle with her feelings for Andy, because it was so obvious that they belonged together. Andy was so sweet. I loved the glimpses into their old friendship, and the way that their new chemistry added to it. And boy did they have chemistry!

This was a great story of friends turned lovers. The romance was cute. The kisses were hot. I was just rooting for these two sweet and vulnerable people who brought out the best in one another.

I am really hoping that we see more books about Christmas Falls! There are so many characters I would like to get to know, or see again!

ONCE AGAIN IN CHRISTMAS FALLS is book three in the Return to Christmas Falls series, and I broke my rule of reading a series in order because I got my hands on this one first (and Becky is one of my favorite authors). Once Again in Christmas Falls is a beautiful story and the perfect start (for me) to the series written by seven amazing authors. I absolutely loved getting to know London and applaud her decision to go where she felt she was needed rather than where people told her to. I think everyone can learn something from that. I can't wait to dive into the rest of the series, meet London's friends, see more of Miss Anna Cate (who made me wish I had kleenex nearby), and see how the other six authors entwine their stories. (If you've read them, don't share any spoilers. I want to be surprised, and I'm spreading them out throughout Bookmas!)

I’m glad that I got to read this one so soon after I read Honeymoon for One. The books kind of parallel each other in the time period they’re written. This one is about Piper’s best childhood friend, London.

I loved the way London seems so down to earth. She has a lot going on in her life. Like all of us, sometimes you just need a break from your crazy co-workers and family. And she takes one. She heads to Christmas Falls, where she grew up. Something that was a little ironic about that was that very few people recognize London on sight. She feels even more alone. And then she finds Andy again.

Andy is a great guy. He goes out of his way to do kind things for London. Even going so far as to get her and Piper back together after a huge fight they had the last time they’d seen each other. Andy’s family made me smile too. Things like insisting his door stay open at their house, even though he’s an adult were just kind of funny.

I loved the whole Christmas feel of this one. The town of Christmas Falls is just a fun place. And the characters make me smile. They work hard together to make sure they don’t lose a big part of their community. It seems like a great place to live.

If you like Christmas romance, this is a great choice!

This was such a fantastic book! I may or may not have stayed up way too late to finish it...too good to put down. After taking a 10 day “book fast” (nearly died from the reading withdrawals!) this book truly felt like coming home.

I was immediately drawn into the story and really enjoyed our heroine, London. The chemistry and kisses left me swooning, and yet the author kept it classy and clean. The author did such a marvelous job with characterization and really made our two main characters stand out and seem realistic.

I loved this book, and will probably cozy on up to it again as Christmas gets closer!!

When I read a Becky Monson novel, I know I'm going to be rewarded with a charming and relatable main character and several snort/laugh lines. This short novel was no exception. I really adored it. The chemistry between London and Andy (Andrew...) was adorable and sweet and I laughed out loud several times. Choked up at parts, too.

Devoured this book in one sitting. I could see every scene playing in my head like a sweet holiday Hallmark movie. I instantly became emotionally invested in London's love life and was reminded of the giddiness that comes along with falling in love. Such a romantic nostalgic read and perfect for any fan of Chick lit!
I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the Christmas Falls series now!

Loved every minute of this sweet story! The only thing I would change about this book was the length. I wish it went on and on forever... Perfect holiday love story. Becky's descriptions of Christmas Falls and everything else make me wish I could live inside this storybook town and be a part of London and Andy's story. I'm a sucker for a love story, so this fit the bill for a lighthearted, easy read. Becky Monson's books always tend to suck me in, and this one was no different.

Once Again in Christmas Falls

-‘“Friendship is the best foundation for romance to bloom.”-‘

Best friends to lovers stories are always magical to me. I love them and I loved this book. Becky Monson’s humorous, fun-loving personality and a hint of snark always manage to work themselves through her work and I always look forward to them. Her stories are always fast-paced with memorable characters. I really enjoyed reading London’s story. Not to mention, ooh-la-la those steamy kisses! This is a fabulous, clean romance. Another winner for Becky Monson. Highly recommended.

This was a warm hearted engaging read that followed London’s return to the home town where she grew up.. I soon found out that this is 3rd in a series which may explain why I felt that there was a lack of depth in minor characters involved in this story. However this has led me to contemplating reading the other titles in the series as I am now intrigued to find out how it develops!!! Overall an enjoyable read that kept me occupied over a couple of evenings.

Once Again at the Falls is a largely forgettable story about a lonely girl who returns to her hometown and wallows in her loneliness until she runs into her childhood friend, whom she hasn't tried to contact in years. Things fall into place for her as her childhood friend pursues her company and she runs into a famous photographer who offers her a job by chance. While there were flickers of great storytelling underneath the surface, I felt that none of them fulfilled the promises that they set out to achieve.

London's character arc seemed to appear out of nowhere 85% into the story and was wrapped up quickly after a single monumental phone call with her mother. I appreciated the attempt at her growth, but it felt abruptly ushered in at the end and not well-developed. Also, in her eventual decision to stay in Christmas Falls, there was an attitude of "cozy rural towns are definitely superior to impersonal big cities" from the author conveyed in the whole narrative and story arc, rather than just as London's personal feelings and decision. This felt either poorly executed or uncalled for.

Unlike other Monson protagonists, London didn't seem to work actively towards her eventual goals or growth; instead, both the romance and the career developments happened almost entirely by chance as a result of other people reaching out to London.

Andy's friendship with London is intimate and close, and they immediately fall into their old friendship upon reuniting. This is great for London, but not so great for the reader, who barely witnessed any developments in their friendship. It felt like I was told that they were close and had chemistry, but never shown why.

Monson's other novels do a wonderful job of setting up a cozy world and cast of side characters that enrich the story, but Once Again at the Falls also falls flat here. Most of the town doesn't remember London, which is totally understandable, but then no relationships or interactions really develop between London and any of the townspeople over the course of the story. London alludes to her best friend Piper, with whom she had a huge falling-out, over and over in the beginning of the story. However, their eventual reunion is uneventful and the reader is just told that they talk for hours as best friends again. Who is Piper? What made them such close friends, what is Piper's personality and what are her goals and interests and fears? We have no idea, all we know is that they're now friends again. What do they talk about? The book doesn't mention, except for a brief allude to a rich guy Piper's dating (which turns out to be setting up the sequel book). Piper then disappears for the rest of the story. London has no other friends. That's it, that's all we get.

Once Again at the Falls had potential, but it missed its mark and ended up being a mediocre and forgettable story. For a Monson book that I enjoyed much more, I would recommend Just A Name instead.

Home Again... Where the Heart Is

I've become a fan of Becky Monson's books: sweet, funny, and romantic without much profanity or explicit sex scenes (mostly kissing; anything beyond that is implied). Once Again at the Falls is a great example of her work at its finest.
London, the second of three children, has quit her job due to a personnel issue, she doesn't want to go home and face her family with yet another escape under her belt. She runs go run from her problems rather than facing them. A letter from the music teacher in her previous home town of Christmas Falls provides a better option... go back and sing in the Christmas pageant, them return home for a week afterward. Her parents are divorcing and her mom wants help rearranging her things while London's dad moves into another part of the house. It makes no sense to London, but at least she won't have to deal with the drama on Christmas Day itself.

London expects Christmas Falls go to Bree unchanged and its residents to welcome three back as a long- missed native. She right on the first count, terribly wrong on the second. It's for a good reason, though. She's abandoned her teenage Goth look for a more subtle, adult style. She adult to give up and fully home when she runs into, quite literally, the boy next door---Greg Boller,
three former best friend who has growth up as well.

At first, London treats Greg as a welcome friend among a sea of folks who don't recognize her. She totes her camera with her, looking for subjects she can filter into a darker color palette. That's the Goth style seeping through!

As the days of her visit go by, London sees the the town with new eyes. Her music teacher is dying but has quite a bit of life still in her. He ex-best friend Piper is eat to reconcile and sing with her in the pageant. And Greg... well, Greg starts go seem old like a friend and more like a hottie. So not what London was expecting!

The community center where the pageant takes place is in dire need of funds. Rather than bewail its fate or (more characteristically) run away,London decides to do something. Having met a professional photographer and gotten herself appointed as an assistant, she persuades him to offer portrait services and donate the proceeds to the community center. With other donations, they manage to keep the center afloat for months to come. And London gets a job offer to be the photographer's assistant in Christmas Falls.

It sounds too good to be true, but is it? True, yes. Good? Only time will tell.

Christmas turns to January, then February. London and Greg renew their friendship, then kiss by the falls that gave the town its name. London begins to consider Christmas Falls her hometown and the Boller family her family. She has a home with her music teacher and begins turning her Etsy photo business into a moneymaking enterprise. Finally, she shares an unforgettable Valentine's Day with Greg. Life is good!

Th s book made me want to visit Christmas Falls, if not stay there. I'd be delighted to spend time with the antique shop owners, the bakery lady, Miss Anna Cate and the pageant, with neighbors like the Bollers. Monson creates a world I want to see!

Reviewed at Heart Full of Christmas

London has had one purely crappy day, and the items on that pile just kept being added until the point where she saw the chance to get outta town and grabbed it. Yeah, maybe she was running away, again. But maybe this time she was running to something… or someone instead. Years ago she’d had a group of tight knit best friends, one special neighbor friend and Miss Anna Cate back in Christmas Falls. Her parents had moved them away and she lost touch, or didn’t try to keep in touch… until Miss Anna Cate’s letter arrived. It was time to go back home and face the past. She was scared, but going back was less scary than staying put.

Back in the day London had perfected her own version of the “goth” look. Those days were far behind her now, so maybe she shouldn’t have been quite so surprised that no one recognized her in her old home town. Except Miss Anna Cate – and Andy, her best friend, her neighbor, the keeper of secrets and more. During her visit London will have to face some old truths that aren’t very pleasant at all. She’ll discover that friendship, true friendship never really dies …and that love can grow in unexpected places if given enough care.

I think all of us have a little bit of London in us. Oh, those teenage high school years where anyone who is the slightest bit different is in for one intense, perhaps misunderstood time It was heartwarming to watch as London slowly, finally reached her “aha” moment. Once your eyes are truly opened it’s so easy to see a lot of truths all around you. Watching London take that risk was worth all the painful, years long moments leading up to it.

I enjoyed Once Again in Christmas Falls very much. Andy and London are a slowly growing flame of understanding, of possibilities, and of never giving up on your dream of that one special person. I would recommend this story and the entire series to any Romance reader who loves to fall into the story.

I own an e-book copy of this story.

I found it impossible to connect to this book or to most of the characters in it.

London is 26 years old and seems to just float through life unable to make any sort of real commitment to anything. She's had countless jobs, that she quit, and just as many relationships. She allows her mother, who lives in another state, to control her. Her mother is a screeching and demanding harpy and London is too cowardly to stand up for herself. She is also a runner. Somebody who is too immature to face her problems (or stand up to them) and instead runs away.

I found it difficult to like London. She's just not a sympathetic character and the author did her no favors. I also didn't like her friend Piper and didn't understand this fight they had. The author did nothing to give us a real background story for anything that happened in this book.

I did like Andy and because of him, I am giving this book 3 stars. He is just a genuinely good guy. Kind, caring, loving, supportive and he sees past London and her BS. He's a bigger person than I would have ever been. He's the quiet kind of love that everybody needs in their life, the slow and steady flame that doesn't go out.

The book is well-written and I appreciated the glimpses of Gatlinburg although the author never truly captured the heart of it (or how crazy commercialized it has become). She also didn't capture the warmth in rural Tennessee towns. I didn't finish the book feeling like I wanted to visit Christmas Falls. London spends so little time with the townspeople (who don't recognize her after 8 years) that I didn't feel any connection to them or to her with them.

I feel disappointed because this book had such great potential. Somehow, it just missed it's mark for me.

This is a clean romance with no swearing and no sex. This is not a Christian romance (since I put clean and Christian on the same shelf, I state this so there is no confusion).

When Becky Monson and six other authors I love announced they had written an interlinked Christmas series, I was so excited and just had to read it.

Once Again in Christmas Falls is the third book in the series, but you don’t have to read them in order (although that might be lots of fun, because it would give you a more rounded perspective). The book follows the story of London Walsh, who is returning to the town she grew up in: Christmas Falls. She’s there to help her dying music teacher Miss Anna Cate, but when she bumps into the guy who used to live next door from her, the trip gets a whole new meaning. Wil London find happiness in Christmas Falls or will she run for the hills? I guess you’ll have to read it to find out.

The book is a quick read and Becky Monson immerses you in the ‘small town life’ near the Smokey Mountains. It could easily be made into a Hallmark movie, what with all the lovable characters, cute townspeople and heartwarming vibes. If you like romance, the holidays and chick lit, this one is definitely for you.

This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review, and I can assure everyone that this has not influenced my opinion. I loved it.

London was having a terrible day... she quit her job (her ex had been promoted to be her boss), her mom called to say that her parents were getting a divorce, and she had received a letter telling her of the terrible illness of her long time mentor and friend. Her mom wants to her to come to Phoenix to help her settle things with the divorce, but miss Anna Cate (her mentor) begged her to return to Christmas Falls to sing in the annual Christmas Pageant.

A town named after Christmas (ok, it's really named after a waterfall, but they definitely own the Christmas theme), Sugar Cookies, and friends turned lovers is the perfect recipe for a Holiday Romance.

Becky Monson has written a fabulous story of friendships rekindled, talents rediscovered and, of course, romance. Add in a holiday theme and I am sold! I love a good Christmas Romance story and this is definitely a great one. I can't wait to read the rest of the Christmas Falls stories, and learn more about London's group of friends.

“Friendship is the best foundation for romance to bloom.”

I'm in love with Christmas Falls. Finding out there are a ton more books based in Christmas Falls makes me so incredibly happy!! I'll be reading them all!!! London and Andy are sweet characters separately and fireworks together. There isn't this huge passion exploding everywhere. It's the quiet moments of their relationship that I loved. How Andy knew which things she liked, how she thought, and not forgetting her. How London knew Andy from the start, remembering the trouble they got into, loving the parts he was nervous about.

“Honey, you have to put in the work for something that’s worth it.”

“Maybe you’ve been running because you couldn’t find the place where your heart belonged. Maybe you just needed to come home.”

Anna Cate was the star of this book for me. The way she took in London encouraged her, but she also gave her sage advice when needed. London annoyed me with some of her spiraling, but Anna brought her back every time. Things worth having take work.
