A long time ago the world changed. A group of humans became cut off from the rest of the world. Eventually they grew way beyond what their land could support. The Vampire nations began and so was born the Order. For centuries the Order have battled against the Vampire threat. Only ever recruiting the ones that would never be missed. For seven years service, they would be allowed to begin again. Problem is, they needed to survive first.
Ian John Smith, born May 1981 in Portsmouth England. My childhood was one of hardship, growing up in a poor household. Many of my memories were that of survival, growing up with a father unable to read and who followed a life of crime. To this day he tells me his greatest achievement was making sure I never followed in his footsteps and what joy he got from watching me read a book. Each day there was a struggle to put food on the table. As an only child my life was a lonely one, I filled my life with a love of books. From the brilliance of Roald Dahl to the amazing inspiration of William Shakespeare. Growing up in a tough family made me a survivor and that meant my passion for writing always came last, working long hours in a Factory from the age of seventeen. That was until fate intervened many years later, diagnosed with a bad heart. There is a long fancy medical name for it, but I decided long ago to never let it stop me. I have to thank that moment in my life, it made me realize we have to follow our dreams. Whatever path they lead. I took a job for less money as a projectionist, this allowed me to have the time to write. It may have been a scribble on a scrappy piece of paper or a story of meaning, it never mattered it was my passion. Never dreaming of publishing my work, I was happy to enjoy the work for myself. Little did I know fate would intervene again, My mother, Sandra who passed away so suddenly forcing me to make changes to my life. My father Michael terminally ill himself needed someone, being an only child, I made it my responsibility. I left my second job due to fate, but along the path I realized I wanted to write. Now my work, maybe ridiculed it maybe considered inferior, but that does not matter. What matters is I finally get to live my dream. I am not a writer looking for wealth or fame I am just a man looking to live his dream. Now I will publish stories I enjoy, from short stories to Novels. I will also be publishing work in a series format. This is my beginning.
I.J. SMITH HAS DONE IT AGAIN AND WITH VAMPIRES. BRING ON BOOK 2 AND LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED.
Another great book by the very talented I.J. Smith and all I have to say is Far Out!!!!!!! This is so very much different than the other books that Ian has written and I for one am very impressed and glad that he did. What's really great about this is, it's not your ordinary Vampire Novel or Story that were used to. This is something way different with Pure-Bloods, Half-Breeds and the people that fight them to keep others safe and the world in balance. It also seems that it's been going on for hundreds of years, but now the Pure-Bloods want more. Then there are the "White Vampires" who seem to be on the side of the "Order" which has also been around just as long. The Order trains Humans to help fight the the Pure-Bloods and Half-Breeds as it's the only way to keep them from taking over the world. The Order have recently picked some new recruits and in the group is one man that is a force to be reckoned with, maybe the only chance they really have of stopping the Pure-Bloods for good. But Tate has recently learned one very important secret, that only one person in the order knew, but has been silenced for good. Will it help Tate as he tries to put his past behind him or will it hurt him as he looks to avenge those that were taken from him and what happens when the Order and the Pack find out? Abigail, Damien, Tate and everyone else in the Order believe the time has come to make things right with the world, but little do they know someone on the inside is making sure that doesn't happen. This is seriously one very good start to what I'm hoping is a long and prosperous series. I recommend this book to all, I.J. Smith, you have done it again!
When your life is torn from you , what do you do ? ...
A young mans family is slaughtered and he is blamed for all of it. He is thrown into a asylum for the insane..he tries to tell anyone and everyone that it wasn’t him ..it was VAMPIRES , yes you read that right VAMPIRES..as he is tortured , drugged and generally mistreated he begins a regime of working out and training himself to be capable of killing the things responsible for his families death.. That’s just in the first couple of chapters .. you will need to read the book to figure the rest out , trust me it is worth the read..
An excellent Vampire story. It has been a long time since I found a horror book that focuses on Vampires. Happily, this one did not disappoint. The battles between humans and vampires are rough and gory. The author’s take on the origin of vampires is very unique, the best I have heard.
Once again I.J. has written something that grips you in the beginning and never let's up. Its a page turner, where you find yourself at 2 in the morning saying, just one more chapter! I loved it and can not wait for the next. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
I loved this book and can't wait for more to come in this new series. I. J. Smith well done. The storyline was well thought out. Each character intrigued me to want to know more. This is action packed with twists and turns at each page. Tate is a true leader for The Pack, there journey against the vamps has just begun
