Jameson Brothers #1

The Billionaire's Ex-Wife

Rate this book
Sam Jameson always gets what he wants and he wants his ex-wife.

Sam views the world in black and white—a strong attitude that’s earned him billions in the business world and an ex-wife in the real world. What Sam wants is to choose his own future, but to do this he must pass a test set out by his older brother, and CEO: onboard his wayward brother, Eddie. Sam accepts the challenge but isn’t sure what to think when he learns that the woman he’d love and left is part of the test too.

Trinity Jameson is a fixer. It doesn’t matter if it’s ugly furniture or an ornery employee, Trinity has the touch and she’s spent most of her life helping others achieve their best potential. But when her ex-husband comes back to town to prove he’s got a heart, Trinity makes a decision: She’s not going to fix his problems for him—no matter what his smoldering blue eyes ask of her, she’s going to say “No.” She’s determined that he’ll fix his own mess this time.

Before Sam landed in New York, his goal was to leave the city just as fast. But when Trinity saunters into the room looking better than ever, his desire begins to shift. He realizes that what he really wants is what he can no longer have: Trinity. Sam has no trouble stoking their physical fire, but hot sex isn’t going to be enough to heal the hurt he’d caused long ago. Sam isn’t going to be dissuaded by her new found emotional wall. He helped her build it, and now he’s going to knock it down.

Sam and Trinity

I really liked this book. Very quick read and I really liked Sam. I like his vulnerability and his OCD! I can't wait to read about the brothers especially William. This was a cute reunion story, very short and predictable but I liked it. They were both celibate while apart except she did try to move on by dating but never liked any of them. He was a workaholic and she was lonely waiting for him and she wanted, no needed, to be put first. She never was. But he definitely caught on. Sweet story and I will read the other books in the series.

Uptight and always want everything in order, Sam’s strong attitude is good for business but certainly not in marriage. His ex-wife, Trinity might have left him before because of that. But now they are forced to work together to help Sam’s younger brother, Eddie. Sam hasn’t changed. And Trinity, no matter how obvious she’s still physically attracted to Sam, won’t let him hold her heart again. This time, she wants him to learn from his mistakes. But what if he did learn?

Second-chance romance never gets old. Though the plot is common, it was a fantastic read because it was well-written. It was short but well-developed. The characters are well-developed. They started okay but flawed and it was amazing to see them change in the end. And finally, the romance and the heat between Sam and Trinity are well-balanced, making it a great love story.

Sam is a piece of work. He's arrogant, clueless and in need of some fixing in the emotion department. Trinity is no pushover and she has neither the patience or the heart to put up with a jerk like Sam. Too bad she's about to come face to face with the one man she hoped to never see again. Her ex-husband: Sam Jameson. Will this surprise meeting lead to a new beginning? The Billionaire's Ex - wife brings on the spice and sprinkles in the heart. Life is a journey of mistakes, pain and letting go, but there's always room for a second chance.

Sweetly sexy, emotionally thrilling, engaging second chance romantic journey filled with hope and growth. This is a quick, short read, but highly entertaining.

Trinity Jameson is a fixer, but the one person she could not fix was her ex-husband Sam Jameson. She is sweet, sassy and so fun to read about. Sam is driven, organized and so convinced the world or at least his world only works in black and white. This couple are complete opposites, but so perfect. Could not put this down till the end. Looking forward to more Jameson Brothers.

I didn't like this one very much. It was ok I guess. I cared more about side characters (Eddie, for example) than the two protagonists themselves. Don't get me wrong, I liked the (main)characters I just didn't see why they supposedly love eachother so much. They were likable, but I felt like something was missing. The dialogue was almost nonexistent. It was so incredibly predictable. No part of the plot surprised me. It all seemed done before. I kept waiting for one of my guesses to be wrong.

North presents a romance with the couple being the conflict they have to overcome. Sam Jameson and his brothers run a successful marketing agency. This series follows their romantic endeavors. Sam is being sent to their New York office. Surprising to him his ex-wife Trinity greets him upon his arrival. Quick easy going read. Wow what a start to the Jameson Brothers Series, here we meet Sam the middle brother.
Sam likes everything in order likes his life clean neat and with no surprises but that has cost him his wife, so when his brother sends him to evaluate Eddie there younger brother he is surprised when Trinity walks in the room. What should of been an easy time turns into more being this close to his ex Trinity make him realize what he lost, will Sam be able to get Trinity to spend time with him and feel all the love his has for her or will his work get in the way again.
Trinity new seeing Sam wouldn't be easy but she didn't think spending time with him would make her realize she still loves him, but the sad truth is San hasn't changed he still all about work. With the time they spend together Trinity sees little changes in Sam that make her think they could have a chance at trying to try again but sadly Sam gets caught up in work. Will Sam realize that structure and orderly is. It a way to live if he wants to get Trinity back. What will Sam choose or will it be to late.

This is why Leslie North will always be one of my favorite authors. She writes stories that you can't wait to see where the story takes you. The pages practically turn themselves. Somethings in life are worth fighting for and that is exactly what The Billionaire's Ex-Wife is about... fighting for love.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

I was bit confused what was going on with which brother and keeping track at first. I don't understand American business structure or terms do that confused me to.
The premise of the story was really good.
They had been divorced for a year but neither had been with anyone else. He was too busy to bother, still hung up on his ex which was realistic and she had dated but it had not worked out.
Hints at future book storylines.

Geez...this book did not so it for me. Here’s why:

1. I felt as though I was walking in during the middle of the story. It started so abruptly.
2. I did not like the hero or heroine. It’s hard to like a book when this is the case. He was bland, uncaring, inflexible and never became anything near a good book boyfriend. She was blah. Just wanted to be with him no matter what.
3. Boring.
4. No love - they lusted each other but they didn’t come off as happy or in love.

The sad fact is that Sam in an obsessive workaholic and that cost him his marriage. When work always came first and Trinity a very far second, or more, she’d had enough. If it was work that Sam loved above everything else… then let him have his work. Now Sam is facing a test, a professional one certainly but it’s also turning into a personal test. And if he wants to win the real prize it’s time to change his ways.

The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife is an emotional story on so many levels. You’ll be frustrated, joyful, laugh and cry, want to smack someone one moment and hug them tight the next. Neither Sam nor Trinity are going to make this journey easy… and it shouldn’t be. There are millions of men and women like Sam in the world. For them work is life, and the only life necessary is work. They are strong, intelligent and driven – often to the point of losing the important things about life while conquering the business world. They have no clue how to find a balance between their work and the ones that love them, need them to be present in their personal lives as well.

There were moments that I ached for each of thee characters. And moments that I had no idea what the heck they were thinking. Sam’s brothers didn’t exactly help the situation any either. In Sam’s need for another chance with the woman he still loves he will try to reshape himself into a man she’d love. And while Trinity is good at fixing other people or things, she’s not going to help Sam out on this one. If he cannot change his ways then they have no future together. It’s just that simple for her, in spite of still being in love with this infuriating man. Both are right, both are wrong. And finding that balance between the two is what makes this story come alive. Watching them find their way to a happy ending brought forth both happy and frustrated tears… and if that’s not an emotionally involved story then I don’t know what is.

I enjoyed this one, and now I need to know what his brothers will face. If you enjoy an emotional story with characters you actually have a love/hate relationship with then The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife is perfect for you.

The Billionaire's Ex-Wife didn't stand out much for me. It has a less than pleasant hero, a kind of bland heroine, and a decent secondary cast, especially Sam's brother, Eddie, who is actually a more standout character than either of the leads. Unfortunately, I didn't connect much with Sam and Trinity and their story.

When Sam is told by his older brother that Sam needs to help onboard their younger brother, Eddie, into the company to help land some big time clients, the last person Sam expects to see is his ex-wife, Trinity, in the conference room. Trinity is a fixer and she's there to "fix" Sam. Well, not really fix him, but to make the transition for Eddie that much smoother. When Sam sees Trinity, all he sees is the woman he wants again, and apparently has never stopped loving. But, there is a huge problem with that idea - Sam hasn't changed from the cold, inflexible man whose career takes first priority in his life. First priority over everything, including the marriage and wife he used to have. But, Sam's determined, and Trinity's body and heart just can't seem to resist the man who broke her heart.

While I like the premise, and I normally like billionaire stories, The Billionaire's Ex-Wife just did not do it for me. I don't like Sam - he's clueless, he's arrogant, he's completely inflexible, and he does a poor job of really trying to change and become the man Trinity needs him to be if she's to give him a second chance. Why she ended up giving him a second chance, I'll never know. Trinity is OK, she's just a little on the bland side, there's nothing remarkable or extraordinary about her. I didn't believe they really loved each other, although I did believe they were still in lust with each other.

If I don't particularly like the two leads, don't believe they love each other, and a secondary character is more interesting than either lead, then there's a problem. So the only rating I can honestly give this is 3 stars. It probably deserves 2 stars, but I hate doing that unless something is terribly written or just plain awful, and The Billionaire's Ex-Wife is neither of those things, it's just not that interesting.

For a rather shorter book, Trinity and Sam's story brings out so many emotions that I was surprised. It's a second chance romance that, the realization of them divorcing in the first place needed to happen in order to find the way to be together was a bit upsetting for me. I know that Sam's obessive complusive tendencies, control issues and perfection are part of the reason for the divorce but, I did not care for Trinity and Sam's brothers, William and Eddie making Sam be the one completely at fault with the marriage failure. Trinity has a bit to explain. If, Jessica is her best friend, why does Trinity feel the need to cry on Eddie's shoulder or why does she decide to go on vacation with her brother-in-law instead of this best friend if Sam didn't go? I actually got angry with Trinity over this -why doesn't she communicate to Sam how she feels instead of waiting for him to see her beyond his work? In Sam's defense, he doesn't truly realize he is hurting her but, to me she doesn't try hard enough.

With that said, I realize I am probably not in the majority with my Team Sam defense but, I found it difficult to like Trinity. To be honest, I didn't care for William and Eddie manipulating Sam either. Is their relationship that strained and if so, why? However, I do know it had to happen that way to make the story cohesive. And, truly I did like the story in hindsight because of the romantic I am. The deep feelings, emotions and love that were covered up are realized and come to the surface. Trinity and Sam finally learn to communicate, compromise and a happily ever after follows.

Jameson Brothers: The Complete Series; The Billionaire’s Audio Box Set by USA Today Bestselling Author Leslie North. (The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife #1, The Billionaire’s Pregnant Fling #2, and The Billionaire’s Sexy Rival)

This is the first audio book I’ve heard with multiple narrators and it really does make a difference for me, having heard a male narrator trying to play the role of a female character doesn’t have the desired effect. I really, truly enjoyed “reading” the audio version as an added boon to an already amazing story!

Trinity is a character I can relate with, she is a strong, independent woman - her and Sam honestly make a cute couple. As they are made to work together, after having divorced about a year prior, the feelings they once had start to come back. Not everyone gets a second chance at true love and it’s refreshing to witness them each compromising and making an effort to get it right this time. Eddie is hilarious and North did well making him the black sheep of the family. The Jameson brothers are a bit uptight so Eddie’s personality is a breath of fresh air! The steamy bedroom scenes in all three volumes of this box set will melt your reading device but they are so worth it!

Each story in the trilogy can be read as a stand-alone. The cameo appearances by the family members just make it that much more delightful, but it’s not as though you have to read them in order. North is an amazing story-teller. There are no gaps in the story, it all flows exceptionally well, her unique voice strongly conveying her presence. This well-written, facetious box set held my attention from beginning to end and I do believe I’ve found my new one-click author!

Trinity is a woman who has once loved and been Married then after 5 years of Marriage Divorced due to a husband who put work ahead of her and their Marriage. Sam is back after a year apart and she has all her walls up as to not get another broken heart over her Ex but he is willing to do everything to knock them walls down including doing things he would have never done before. Sam sees Trinity again and knows that whatever he does he needs to win her back as he sees his mistakes but isnt sure how things will end when it comes to his Ex-Wife who doesnt want to give him the time of day unless its in a Boardroom.

What I enjoyed most about The Billionaires Ex-Wife is watching Trinity willing to work with her ex but nothing more but seeing how he is willing to do more and put himself out there for her, watching Trinity wanting to have the new Sam but worried the old Sam who put his job above all else will come back out. Seeing Sam and how he still loves her after all this time and willing to compromise to get the woman he loves back.

This book is fantastic, this book has Trinity and Sam who were Married but divorced due to his not being fully committed to their Marriage, While Trinity goes on dates to try to move on she doesnt find a guy like Sam and when he comes back she tries to stay away but he is knocking down her walls, Sam Career driven realizes sometimes all the money and perfection isnt right unless you have someone you love to share it with, a story about second chances at love. If you like stories like this, then The Billionaires Ex-Wife is a must!

I have been reading Leslie North's stories for about 3 years now and I've enjoyed and re-read every one of them as they are so good. I love her style of writing which flows easily and draws you in with her fascinating characters and great plots. In The Billionaire's Ex-Wife, we are met by Sam who I really didn't think much of when we first meet him as he is totally focussed on what he wants and his work. he's been asked to check on his brother but in doing so he meets again his ex-wife, Trinity, who is a lovely young woman who is terrific at fixing just about everything. The only thing that she couldn't fix was her 5 year marriage to Sam. They met in college and loved each other so much but work took over and neglected her, so she left. Sam realises that he made the biggest mistake of his life by not fighting for their marriage. He wants her back. But why would she take him back when he broke her heart once? I felt so very sorry for Trinity and I was so pleased that she was a strong woman who had worked hard to make herself so successful, but dare she take the risk of letting him back in her life and maybe have her heart broken again by him? A real page turner and, yes, I did like him by the end of the story but , oh boy, did he need to suffer for what he put her through. I will be re-reading this and getting a copy for myself. A great story with wonderful characters.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

I was given this ARC eBook to read for my honest opinion by NetGalley

I enjoy reading a short romance novel with a little bit of erotica thrown in and this didn't disappoint.

In this book you meet Sam and Trinity an ex-husband and wife who work for the same company, specifically his families advertising company. Within this short eBook you come to realise the reason why they are no longer married is because Sam has trouble compromising and putting others before work. In this book the author shows how a person can change for the right reasons and that being for love.

I like how the author has also introduced the characters and even though I like Sam I feel that he is wrong from the start and pleased with how the book ended. I was also impressed with Trinity for sticking to her guns and being strong enough to stand up for what she believes in and not giving in at the first hurdle. two other brothers especially Eddie who is the fun loving one.

I look forward to reading the next two books in the series and meeting Eddie and William again.

All in all this was a very quick enjoyable read with romance, a bit of heartbreak and shouting at Sam to pull his finger out and go for his girl!

Sam has been summoned by his older brother/CEO of their shared company to get their younger brother, Eddie, on board with some changes they want him to make. To Sam’s surprise, his ex-wife, Trinity, has been tasked with keeping the peace between Sam and Eddie. Since divorcing a year ago, they’ve barely seen each other so having to now work together tests Trinity’s resolve to stay divorced and encourages Sam to win her back.

This is a down to earth second chance romance. It focuses almost entirely on their relationship post-divorce with only some references to when they were married. The maturity of Sam and Trinity was a nice change of pace from typical second chance romances. Trinity was independent and smart. Sam exuded OCD-like behavior and was very regimented, but still likable. He was slow on the uptake, though. I was given the impression he didn’t know why Tri divorced him in the first place which made me wonder if he could see beyond his own nose. His evolution wasn’t as enlightening as I’d hoped, but he did improve on his ways before the end.

I imagine there will be further books in this series, but I still wanted some sort of epilogue or a more concrete ending. It was HFN, but just barely.

I have read many family oriented stories. This one was different. The orientation is more geared to the Advertising Corp. That the family runs. The eldest William appears as a overshadowing authority making everyone want to please him. Eddie, the youngest brother as the happy go lucky slouch who is trying to get into the business. Sam the middle child who this story revolves around is a perfectionist, work-alholic who is loyal and steadfast to a fault.

Sam, having little patience with Eddie is given the task of bringing Eddie onboard and properly educated to take his place in the business. Their meditator is Sam's ex-wife, Trinity and continued love of his life. Sam resolves to do whatever he needs to to win her back.

While I appreciate the focus of the story I found it to be very formal and cold. I had trouble investing in the story with little warmth exhibited by any of the characters. Yes there was sex but no-one really even liked each other until the end.

The narration was good. Thinking back over the story I don't believe my review was colored by the way the story was portrayed. Having both a male and female narration is a big plus.

I recieved a Audible copy of this story for an honest review.

4 1/2 stars!

The Billionaire's Ex-Wife is the first book in the exciting new Jameson Brothers series by bestselling author Leslie North. A highly entertaining, second chance romance that you won't want to miss! With a great storyline, complex characters, humor, sizzling hot intimate scenes, and surprise twists, you'll be turning the pages faster to see what happens next. A terrific story, and a great start to what is going to be a fantastic series.

This was a great book about second chances, learning how to make changes, figuring out what's important in life, and going after it, no matter the cost. The well written story had a smooth flow, developed characters that were easy to connect with, lots of humor, and brought out a wide range of emotions, which all made for a great read. I'm looking forward to seeing where this series goes from here, and I can't wait for the next book.

I strongly recommend this book, series, and fantastic author.

I have to say that I enjoyed this read. I wish it was a longer book, more developed and more scenes. However, the chemistry between Trinity and Sam was enlightening and exciting. Seeing these too very strong, independent personality collide after the very sad, lonely history they share is so genuine. Trinity is a fire-cracker of a women, not taking any BS from the men surrounding her, unwilling to accept less than she deserves even as she so-clearly still loves her ex-husband who's going to be working in her turf for a while. Sam, is that Alpha-male you hate to love but you can't help yourself. Yes, he's an A-hole at time, and demanding, and pushy and overwhelming but he obviously cares for Trinity, even when in the beginning (as all men are) is oblivious as to what he did wrong all those years ago, until Trinity has to enlighten his A** to how he F*cked up.
There's nothing more wonderful than seeing deep characters growing and learning from their mistakes, adding to that the steamy chemistry they can't avoid this makes for such a charming read.

I voluntarily read this book provided via NetGalley for a fair an honest review. Sam Jameson is the middle brother of the Jameson men. He’s a bit OCD, extremely uptight, not good socially and a workaholic. It was his inability to put his wife first that caused he to leave. I have to say that if my husband was letting me down, I don’t think I would be calling his brother in the middle of the night to cry. Nor would I travel on vacation with that brother after I divorced his brother. Like Dr. Phil says “there are two side to a pancake” there are things I think Trinity also did that were unkind. Yes, her life shouldn’t stop just because Sam is back in town, she still works for his company, but twice when he asked to spend time with her she shit him down with either I have a date or it’s singles night. There was no passion here. And “on boarding” Eddie was more like “ water boarding Eddie”. Also Eddie was a man/boy yet Trinity always had his back.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a way to start the book! Sam finds out that he needs to work with his ex-wife and when he sees Trinity, the sparks are still there! Unfortunately, Sam has not changed and for most the book, I don't think he really sees the need to change!

I am with Trinity - if my husband sent his assistant to tell me he was not showing up for an anniversary dinner, I don't think I would be married long either! Most the book, I feel is a learning experience for Sam to see his issues and then determine if he cares enough for Trinity to change.

It was pretty funny when Eddie uses a karaoke night to win a big client and Sam joins in to the singing. It took a long time but I think that Sam could finally see that his little brother had some good ideas and that Sam needed to lighten up.

Great HEA but they first had to figure out what city they would call home and that was another hurdle to jump.
