Overall book rating: 1.5 (Because I like the cover and the over all idea) Audio Book: N/A Book Cover: 4.5
I’m a sucker for a good ghost story. This one... it didn’t do it for me. No. Sorry boys and girls, maybe next time. Taking into account that the story is only about 6 pages long, I found it kind of annoying that about 1.5 of those six pages consisted out of swear words.
I didn’t like Hunter. I did like the little bit I got about Stan though. Damn I was so looking forward to it. Sorry for being a cow.
This could easily have been 4-stars but what started out as promising, didn’t deliver. Ghost story romances; what fun. This one missed the mark. The dialogue was amateurish and character and plot development were lacking. The whole scene where Hunter was going on about f-ing a ghost was ridiculous. Why was Stan bound to that location? What prevented him from moving on? What was with the ending? It was so abrupt it felt like the author got tired, went to bed and forgot to finish in the morning. Too bad. A little extra and this one could have been wonderful.
there are stories with ghosts and haunted places i absolutely love and this shortie was quite promising. it was funny and smart at first and i liked comments similar to that one about watching grass grow (which get a completely new meaning for a stuck up bored ghost). unfortunately, it turned out that after a nice beginning it became just a sex scene.
it was not bad, but it was not good enough to entertain me.
This was a very different story. Stan, who is a ghost, is interested in a graduate student, Hunter. When Hunter admits to his friends during a Ouija board session that he wouldn't mind having sex with a ghost, Stan takes it as a suggestion. I thought Hunter was funny and Stan was the more down to earth one, despite being dead. Hot and great for a laugh!
A truly promising beginning seguing into a weird sex scene and an abrupt ending that isn't even an end. The build and explanation on Hunter and his ghostly life is great- a real feel for this man and what has happened to him, as well as how the afterlife is for him. His joy at watching the recent trio of grads in his old lot is palpable and it makes him very believable. Then we get to see things from Hunter's POV and it is abrupt with no story and he is not exactly likable. There is the odd sex scene between the two of them and bam! Done. There is some introduction of weird instant possible feelings and a mention of ectoplasm/cum but it all just up and ends. Very unsatisfying ending after such a tremendous build up.
All I can figure is that this was a really early work that the author pulled out and dusted off because her other works have great ratings. The tense of the wording is very amateur and Hunter's speech sounds like a highschooler not a collage grad student. I'd still give another one of her books a try. Adult read
Eh, pretty weak. The background in the beginning has no meaning and the sex scene is not even hot. There was no real coherence. The story just felt off to me, no matter how short it was.
