Inn Love is a short, sexy, ghostly novella by Lucy Lennox that I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I loved it. Since it’s mid October, I decided this was the perfect time for a little sexy haunting.
Davis Yardley has loved the huge old Pine Hollow Inn in the little town he grew up in, Pine Hollow, Maine, since he was a little boy. He would go out of his way to ride his bike by it and would dream of what he would do with it if he owned it. Now as an adult, he’s back in Pine Hollow and finally has the means to purchase it. Except that the realtor is having a little competition to see who can last the weekend in the haunted Inn. Davis knows who is haunting it and isn’t afraid of them. In fact, he’s met them once before. The three sisters, Abigail, Bettina and Calamity Maberly still reside there and are determined that they will make anyone they don’t want in their Inn run away as fast as they can.
Ryan works construction and wants to purchase the Inn, renovate it and flip it to prove to his condescending Uncle that he is worth something. But he hadn’t planned to meet an adorable man during his weekend stay there and even fall for him. The last man standing is who will get the Inn. He is determined that it will be him.
This was a sexy, fun, sweet little book that I read in just a few hours. It just proves, once again, how I can count on Lucy Lennox to entertain me and to make me both smile and swoon.
There are so many things wrong with this book I can’t even get into it. I’m being generous with the two stars. Really. The only good thing here were the three ghosts.
I find this novella hard to rate this because i loved some aspects: an inn up for sale but haunted by three sisters, and the competition for inn. on the other hand i didn't like the instalove, it didn't feel very believable they knew each other for less than 24 hours and they were doing coupley things haha, the pacing was very rushed since this was around 110 pages.
i think if the book was longer then i would have rated it. it would have been paced better, more could have happened, like the relationship developing, more hauntings we could have seen, idk i felt like this could have been a full length novel. it would have been perfect for fall/the spooky season, but overall i am glad i picked this up, it was a fast read and i love any kinda of haunted residence story haha like Spirited Situation or The Quiet House.
I'm not going to lie, I have not been reading Lucy Lennox lately as the writing seemed so different from their previous books. But I saw this one released and the blurb caught my attention.
In here we have Davis, a local guy from this small town, and Ryan, a general contractor who are competing to be able to win a haunted hotel for cheap if they are the last one in the building.
Make no mistake, the hotel is haunted by three sisters and they want Davis to win. I won't spoil the rest as this is so short, but that twist in the story was unexpected.
This is all instalove and instasex, as they literally fall for each other when they meet. I adored that.
Michael Dean did an excellent job of narrating this and he has got to be the best sex scene narrator ever.
Adorable, quick, & sexy! This was my first book by this author and OMG...I need to read MORE from her!
I absolutely adored Davis & Ryan. Their attraction was immediate and obvious and so very sizzling. And I loved how, in just a short time, their connection grew and they decided to stick together and work together and stay together.
This quick read was perfect for Halloween: ghosts, shenanigans, humor, and some sexy romps in the sheets.
This was cute short non spooky story. There were some heart felt moments as well as steamy encounters. I liked the main couple, the plot twist and how the book ended - it was so sweet! The Ghost Sisters were appropriately sarcastic and enjoyable! I recommend it!
Give Lucy Lennox a ghost story anytime, I'll read it in a heartbeat. A little spooky with three ghost acted as a matchmaker. Sexy time, and an insta-love and a happilly ever after. I'm good. Recommended!
Overall 3.5 out of 5 stars Performance 3 out of 5 stars Story 3.5 out of 5 stars
Fun, quick read. This was a cute and fun quick listen. It was entertaining and now I want to own a haunted B&B in New England. I got a kick out of the sisters and the way they manipulated situations for Davis. There were a couple of things that happened that could have used some fleshing out, but eh, for a novella what can you expect. The narration was fine- I feel like Ryan's character was a little over played, almost a bit of a caricature of a blue collar construction worker. But for the most part it was an easy listen.
Cute. Ligero. Un concepto muy bueno. Una pésima ejecución.
Los personajes se enamoran en una noche. Meh.
Digo yo, ¿no?
Otro problema fue que Davis y Ryan se leían como si fueran casi la misma persona. Incluso con lo cortito del libro, me fue difícil distinguirlos a veces.
Mención especial a las hermanas Maberly, las verdaderas protagonistas de esta historia.
Interesting concept, sort of, but required too much suspension of belief--not for the ghosts, but for the idea they'd give away a multi-million dollar property and that the contestants would be SO easily scared out of the win by really basic, non-scary stuff; I don't buy it. It felt a bit phoned in--the author couldn't even be bothered to keep her character descriptions straight (Davis manages to be tall & well-built in one chapter and then 'slender' the next).
A bit too fast for my liking. I'm not the biggest fan of instalove, and two days is too fast for me to believe two people fell in love. The narrative's good though.
An old haunted inn that has stood empty for years, two men with diametrically opposed reasons for wanting to buy it, and a very spooky first meeting on Halloween are the ingredients for this delightful novella. The tone of the newspaper ad that starts it all made me laugh, I liked both men from the beginning, and considering the fact that the ghosts have already scared away a ton of people interested in buying the place, I hoped for a fun story with a touch of the supernatural. And that is exactly what I got!

3.5 stars I liked it, it was a fun little book that involved a competition and 3 meddling ghost. The only thing I am not always hot on is insta-love. Sometimes it can be pulled off but, unfortunately this wasn't one of those times. Other than that I enjoyed it.
A very cute and funny spooky story. Full of meddling old biddies who are determined to have Davis win the inn. They have a secret. What Davis didn't expect was to find the love of his life at the same time.
Do you think you could live in a haunted B&B? Would you do it to become the owner of the property? Twenty people tried and only two remained after three sister ghosts have they fun making those who left completely frightened or hurt. Davis and Ryan start off as competitors but end up as lovers as each has their own vision for the property. Can the two combine to make the most of the situation? Or will only one be the rightful winner and lose the love of his life? Completely adorable characters and those three sisters had me laughing out loud. A great quick haunting read.
Fun concept but execution was lacking. The two MC's fell in love within 24 hours which was completely unbelievable. The other contestants were scared really easily and the ones that didn't the reason they left was so OTT. I'm normally a fan of Lucy Lennox but the best thing I can say about this is that it was free and had ghosts in it which I needed for a challenge.
This moved a bit too fast for me but that is expected when reading a short...I enjoyed the plot but found myself skimming the pages more than I should have. The ghosts were a really unique and cool touch though.
Omg I’m in love with this genre! This book was lighthearted and spooky all at the same time! Absolutely Brilliant! Davis & Ryan are so adorable! Definitely worth your time to read this one! Thanks to my sister for recommending this to me! 💜💜💜
What a fun idea. It's a take on reality competitions with 3 friendly ghosts added in. I loved it. This is another author that I stumbled on and can't put down. I highly recommend all her books.
