Such a sweet story about a relationship coming together in a variety of small disastrous ways, but still being everything that the couple had hoped for. It was a situation where both of the MCs knew each other and had been building a friendship, and an unbeknownst mutual love, and have finally made the move for more. At each date something goes wrong, but not in any catastrophic or ridiculously angsty way, just in the ways of getting to know someone for the first time as a lover. Love prevails and the two are still together despite, or because of, the imperfect perfection of the two of them together.

Set in Hope Springs and tied to the Jules family.
Lexi is actually a cousin of the Jules' boys. He's a florist in town.
Marcus is a transplant from southern Florida. He briefly dated Charlie before they decided they were much better off as friends. He owns a bakery next door to the flower shop.
The two finally get their chance to take their growing friendship to the next level during the Halloween season. But disastrous dates seem to make their hearts grow fonder.

Fun novella, solid ending.

I haven’t read any of the books in The Family Jules series. I received this from an instrafreebie offer. It was a good short story. I feel it’s important to note that this could totally be read as a stand-alone.

2.5 stars.
Cute little story but I really found Lexi to be more annoying than anything. Marcus, on the other hand, was quite swoon worthy. But their dating seemed very juvenile (we never get a sense of how old they really are). Lexi kept on playing the shy timid card but yet the first night he spends with Marcus he doesn’t display a shy bone in his body (as he displays just about everything else). There is also no background provided on either of the characters. Do I have to read the other books in this series to get that?

Sweet and funny. Lexi and Marcus have it all going on; awkward first moments, followed by a passion that flares bright, a few times where they stepped carefully and a wonderful ending. It was great that these two had been building towards their relationship for so long that when they finally make those first tentative steps in all fits together perfectly.

The Family Jules #3.5
A truly enjoyable read that I got free in a Halloween Giveaway. I'm tempted to read the rest of the series. It's a short fun little story from a good author. How can you go wrong with that?

2.25 stars - This was a pretty predictable short novella with a couple of tertiary characters from the series. I was momentarily intrigued when Marcus said he had his eye one someone in book 2, but this was just all payoff and no build up, so the payoff didn't really have any stakes.

Short and sweet and very enjoyable. I was hoping we’d get a story about Marcus and I wasn’t disappointed!

Short novella, good characters, adequate story line. Clever romance of two men lusting silently for the other, and their romance blossoming.

Marcus and Lexi are adorable. Loved their story. All the cute nervousness of the start of a relationship and sexy to boot.
