This book had its moments, but often, I felt like I was reading the author's notes towards the book she was planning to write - at times, just as messy as Roxy's notes..

Still, some of it I felt deeply - like Charles' grief after losing Roger, the dog.. (Not really a part of the plotlines, so I haven't marked this for a spoiler.) I am currently feeling such grief after losing my beloved Lucy - a dog as well..

I felt, this could have been a better book with a bit more effort, but it was an OK read as it was.

I wanted a festive book to read over the holidays, however this book isn't very Christmassy. You would barely know it was Christmas as it was hardly mentioned, and the book could have been set at any other time of the year. The storyline was a bit weird...and I felt there were gaps between what the author was thinking and how it was written. Disappointing read.
