Billionaire's Second Chance

Billionaire.
Playboy.
Arrogant.

Austin Harris heard these words to describe himself all the time in New York and the media. Hell, he happily owned them and ran the town, enjoying life to the hilt.

He didn’t need North Reed, where he was from; not anymore. He’d avoided it for years until his parents begged him for just one visit home for a small-town holiday.

Fine, he’d go but he’d bring his assistant so that he could work at the same time. Money didn’t get made if a man wasn’t working and that was the name of the game for Austin now. It was a compromise that everyone would have to be happy with.

Coming back was harder than he could ever expect. It brought back feelings for the small town and for his first love, that he’d left behind after graduation. When things got serious, he knew that he’d have to make a choice about how to live his life from that moment on.

All books in the Billionaire series are standalone, full length billionaire romance novels. They can be read in any order and do NOT contain cliffhangers. Each includes lots of steamy scenes and a HEA guaranteed.

Sweet and steamy

Billionaires Second Chance
Claire Adams
🌟🌟🌟🌟

So sweet. That's what this story was, with a perfect about of steam. I love billionaires stories, they are my all time favourite. Austin Harris might have a history of a small town he’d prefer to forget but guilt trips from his mother means he’s returning to North Reed. To many people this would be nothing, but for Austin, it means facing his past and that means seeing his high school love Rebecca Silver. She has been forever on his mind even as the ultra rich, mogul that part of his past has never been forgotten.

Rebecca can’t believe her eyes when Austin returns to town and into her hairdresser salon. Agree thought she had always nice in from that part of her life, but deep down he will airways have her heart. Now back in North Reed he is about to stir trouble again, but this time for good. Letting him back into her heart will dredge up everything she has worked to hide.... But Austin has no intention of letting her go again. He did it once, and clearly that wasn’t a good plan.

Austin despises everything about his home town, except for Rebecca and his parents. But in the time he's there, his opinions change.... Like a lightening strike, Austin is shook into a life in the country again. Having Rebecca by his side is a positive he never expected, and with a family emergency, it leaves him craving all that he's missed living the high life in New York. Austin will have to change everything to win his woman back, his past will Vibe back with vengeance, and will make him change for the better. As long as he doesn’t ruin everything with Rebecca in the process.

I can't describe how much I disliked this book. I actually hate-read the majority of it. Why? Who knows, clearly I'm a glutton for punishment.

The author spends an INSANE amount of time name dropping brands over and over again. She also spends way too much time restating the obvious continuously. Hey! Is Austin rich? You know how I know he is? Because she CONTINUES TO TELL US IN EVERY OTHER SENTENCE!!!

Then you have to ridiculousness of the plot. Normally I'm all for these books, but this one? Nope! Basically Austin is supposed to give up his ENTIRE world because he deigned to leave his home town and do something different? Everyone looks at him like he has 40 heads because he wants something else. His supposed "love"? Yeah, she doesn't love him enough to budge a bit. Not even a millimeter to be with him. It's her way or no way.

Don't even get me started on the parents - especially the dad. Stupid is as stupid does. He deserved everything he got. You have a family history of heart issues. You've had one scare. But no, keep on doing what you're doing and not letting your son help. Let's see how that works out for you. Ugh.... these people were ALL the worst!!!!!

My review isn't so low because I didn't enjoy the writer's style. It isn't what it is because of plot holes or grammatical errors I may have come across. Point of fact is, my review is so low solely because I didn't like Rebecca.
The so-called heroine of this book was the three S words no woman should ever aspire to be.
She was selfish, expecting the hero to make all the sacrifices in their relationship
She was stubborn (and not in the good way) her refusal to change was a stunt on the whole relationship and by extension the story
She was superficial. In her own way she was even more fake than Mia and just as manipulative.
The only difference, she had met him first.
I was informed by a reliable source that, that's how women are. We all want a man who would give up everything for us while we sit on our laurels and make no sacrifice of our own.
I personally can't support that. Like Rebecca, I refuse to.
The issue of so much contention in the whole story was geography. The reason I feel so passionately about my disgust in this character is simply this.
The man had the means to return her home at any point of her choosing.
She refused to even try.
She claimed to be so in love, that she would end the entire relationship if he decided to leave the town.
That was her mindset.

Austin Harris left North Reed to become more than what he thought he was. Leaving behind the only woman he ever loved Rebecca. Rebecca has always just liked living in her small town and never dream for more but to get married and raise her kids there. Rebecca finds out that Austin is back when he stops into her shop for a hair cut. Wanting nothing to do with how is now Rebecca is glad when she is done doing his hair. Austin could never see what everyone loved about North Reed and couldn't believe that Rebecca wouldn't come with him all those years ago. He is back now because he father's health isn't good and his parents wanted to have their holiday celebrated at home. Wanting to apologize for how he acted Austin takes Rebecca out for lunch and is surprised by how much the community think of his accomplishments. Trying to stay away from Austin so she doesn't become his holiday fling is hard especially when his mother calls inviting her for their Christmas meal. When things take a turn in his family and business at the same time which will Austin pick? Will seeing Rebecca after all this time have Austin seeing things differently?

This was a great holiday romance especially with the holidays just around the corner. I loved this story and didn't want to see it end. If you love a great holiday romance this is for you.

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

A well written story and nice plot. I like the main characters and they are well described and develops nicely. The story has a good flow and it is captivating. The main characters are Rebecca and Austin. He left her and the small town and is now a billionaire. He has come back because of the Christmas. Rebecca never left. She is now a hairdresser. Their chemistry is still there and you can feel it because the story is written in dual POV. That gives you the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. It is a sweet romance with a second chance and daring to take it or give it.
You just have to like Austin and that he really cares and wants to have the second chance. Rebecca is very childish at times and selfish. It is not easy to persuade her to give Austin a new chance. Both had dreams in High School and Austin is living his.

SMALL TOWN TEXAS VS NYC

Austin dreamed of making it big in New York City for most of his life. After college, Austin moves to the Big Apple and realizes that dream by becoming a self-made Billionaire. He lives the life of a very high-powered Billionaire, including being seen & having casual relationships with well-known models and socialites, but he has never gotten over the girl he left behind (Rebecca) in his small hometown in Texas.
This year his mother refuses to celebrate Christmas in New York thus causing Austin to return home for the first time since he left for college. The first person Austin sees when he first drives into town is Rebecca. Austin realizes he still loves Rebecca, although she refused to leave Texas when he left for college. Will they get a second chance, and what obstacles must they overcome?
This is a well written and excellently edited book. I highly recommend it.

Wow...sometimes what you end up with is not what you originally expected. Claire Adams can be counted on to deliver a great storyline; well thought out characters; enough emotions to keep you guessing; and a kickass HEA. While Billionaire’s Second Chance started off super hot, somewhere around the middle it fell of the tracks. The time Austin Harris was spending in North Reed was like being in the Village of the Damned...time did not pass quickly. Ugh! It took so long for the HEA to arrive, I found myself disliking all the characters!

It gets 4 stars because the premise was sound, and I really like Claire Adams. This particular story didn’t work for me, but you may really like...so give it a read. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and and was disappointed somewhat.)

Billionaire's second chance

Austin and Rebecca were high school sweethearts. After they graduated Rebecca broke up with Austin because she loves the town of North Reed, and couldn't see herself in New York. Eleven years later Austins back and the first place he stops at is Rebecca's work place where he needed a hair cut. Can Austin and Rebecca get along after so many years apart of us there still a spark there? Great read. This book includes five extra books even though it says four. The first extra book is called Billionaire's Contract with Dax and Payton. The second extra book is called Boss's Virgin with Ian and Daisy. The third extra book is called Sleeping with my boss with Asher and Lilah. The fourth extra book is called The Boss with Aria and Zayden. The last extra book is called The Fight with Fenton and Kya.

A sweet second chance romance. Austin and Rebecca were high school sweethearts with polar opposite goals and dreams. Austin spent the last 11 years in NYC becoming a billionaire while Rebecca remained in their home town. The sparks were rekindled when he came home to visit his ailing father. Rebecca came off as selfish and not wanting to get out of her comfort zone. No spoiler but do they eliminate the gap in their goals and become a couple, do they let his ex girlfriend interfere. Can they find happiness together? A great read. I received an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...

I loved this story! The plot was terrific. Austin was a Hero you loved to hate for his selfishness. Rebecca is an awesome well-developed heroine. She knows what she wants and she goes for it despite the fact it cost her the love of her life because she's happy where she's at. The characters were well-developed and I loved the second chance romance that Claire Adams tells. I loved to watch the transformation of Austin as I read the story. It was amazing watching him come to terms with his life in New York and North Reed, Texas. All the doubts he had and how he worked through them to make his final decision about what he wanted.

Claire Adams gives us an emotional tale filled with second chances, screw ups, near deaths, love, spite, and an incredible HEA. I really enjoyed this story. The emotions she pulled from these characters just brought the book to life for me.  Great read!!  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

After leaving a decade ago, Austin finally returns home after saying he never would. A decade ago, Rebecca loved him, but he's changed. Will Austin be able to prove that the old him is still there? Will Rebecca be able to finally get her dream?

Definitely a cute second chance story. I liked the fact that Rebecca stuck to her guns and stayed true to what she wanted and who she was. I did think a couple of times that Austin needed to be smacked up the head since he wasn't getting what she was saying when she said that she wasn't impressed by his money. Good read!

I want one

Wouldn’t we all like the rich dream man to change his life for us! I know I would. Claire made the Texas boy turn into the New York billionaire and then we watched as he realized he had done enough and could move home to Texas and still be the successful man he wanted to be but this time he would get to keep is forever love. We got the crazy big city life along with the crazy ex. Then we got the relaxed country life with the perfectly sweet country girl and that’s where Austin found what he was really meant to be.

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. Though this book had a sweet HEA, I was frustrated with Rebecca throughout the story. I felt like she was selfish and stubborn and not open to giving Austin a chance. Austin came across a bit weak with his inability to make a decision. What is with the all or nothing attitude. I think Preston has the right idea. The book was a bit longer than it should have been to tell their story.

The first half of story is face paced and interesting. The second half gets a little slower as drama unfolds in the small town. The ending is happy and sweet. There are lot of heat and romance. If you are looking for typical billionaire romance, this is probably not for you, but if you like sweet small town romance with heat, this is the one. Voluntary and honest review after receiving ARC (advanced reader copy).

Billionaire's Second Chance

This story was about a small town guy who makes it big. He had left his home town eleven years ago. And with hard work became a very rich man. But when called to go back home he meets up with her, his past. She was his high school sweetheart. When he left she stayed. Will he ever stop making money? Or does his lifestyle and women is his life? This is just the first of five stories in this collection.

Austin left North Reed and never looked back until his parents asked him to come home for Christmas holiday. Rebecca was Austin’s high school girlfriend until he left to go to college in NY. A lot of twists to this second chance romance. Will things work out for Austin and Rebecca or will circumstances tear them apart again? A small town love

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and will definitely recommend it. Such a beautiful story with a woman who will not let money force her to change who she is and take her away from the town she loves. If the love of her life truly loves her he'll have to decide what he wants.

A great book with a happy ending.

Cute country romance

It was hard for me to get into the story line for the first 50% of the book, after that it was smooth Sailing. I wish it was proof read better but besides that few I found it was a great book with a happy ending to all!

Good read

This is an entertaining and enjoyable romance. Austin starts out as unlikeable to me. Rebecca is likeable but not adventurous enough. They both finally realize that they each have to compromise to make their love work permanently. Especially Austin.
