Born in Sydney, Australia and raised in England and Brunei, Tom Barber has always had a passion for writing and story-telling. It took him to Nottingham University, England, where he graduated in 2009 with a 2:1 BA Hons in English Studies. Post-graduation, Tom moved to New York City and completed the 2 Year Meisner Acting training programme at The William Esper Studio, furthering his love of acting and screen-writing.
Upon his return to the UK in late 2011, Tom set to work on his debut novel, Nine Lives, which has since become a five-star rated Amazon UK Kindle hit. The following books in the series have been equally successful, garnering five-star reviews in the US, UK, France, Australia and Canada. The Sam Archer series has had over a million books downloaded worldwide and each title is currently being adapted into audiobook format.
Tom spends most of his time back and forth between the US and the UK. He can be contacted at http://www.tom-barber.co.uk/
Now I have to read Book 1 of the Sam Archer series, plus any sequels. In this combo, Sam starts out as a member of an elite counter-terrorist arm of the London police, and goes to the US for his father's funeral only to get involved in helping catch a group of NYC bank robbers highly skilled in evading the police. In the second book (#3 in the series), he works to solve who is killing off a seemingly disparate group of men, and faces of team of heavily armored thugs. Then, in the last book, he moves to the US to work with the police in NYC, and gets embroiled in a plot to spread a deadly virus. Lots of gun-shooting, lots of dead bodies, and snippets of romantic involvement.
Great read! Fast, well faced, highly charged and leaves the reader with a balanced sense of accuracy (attention to detail) and balance (artistically and emotionally satisfying). The plots are true to life with sufficient twists and unexpected turns to prevent boredom even starting to raise its head. Sam and friends come across as real people, with real lives with which the reader can relate. Tom Barber is certainly on my "favourite author" list!
2 of these stories take place in the US and 1 takes place in the UK. Sam Archer is part of a team that battles some very evil bad guys and gals. These people would shoot you for no good reason. At times it looks hopeless but Sam and his team manage to pull out a win for the good guys each time. A very good read.
Loved these books and characters are good very well written and plenty of action also how well Sam and his team work soo well together in the UK and also the USA have read them before but good to reread great series .
