Mysterious dragons. Hot demons. Fierce witches. Powerful shifters. Enigmatic elves. Secret councils. Forbidden alliances. The Dragon Reign Saga is just starting.

Kate’s whole world just turned upside down. She’s hearing weird things, and seeing weird things. And Mama Lucy is a witch. No, really. Not like a capital B witch, but a capital W witch. And the guys Kate’s just saved from imminent death is part demon. And the guy that’s after her is a dragon.

Her life redefines teen drama.

Craig’s a bastard son of a demon king. And he’s a thief. He’s just found the item he’s supposed to appropriate when his cousin stabs him with a poisoned dagger.

Forrest is out to collect the bounty for capturing the bastard son of a demon king. He doesn’t plan to save the girl, or the half-breed demon. He also doesn’t plan to be the one who needs saving.

This unlikely trio find themselves chased by enemies, known and unknown as they slip into a different dimension called Burnt World.

Beware: Cliffhangers, violence can be found in this serial series of swicked action-packed fantasy, hot dragons, and fierce witches.

Enjoyed the story.
The premise on which the story started in amazing and the interaction between the characters were so natural and interesting that it kept me riveted in it all throughout. Kate and Craig always seemed to be completely different and yet the way they had to come together to work their way out was very enjoyable.
The story moved at a brisk pace and the fantasy genre with humour, was more than enough fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Right from the start it was entertaining and enjoyable, it goes at a fairly fast speed to keep you entertained. The setting of the book was perfect jumping between the human world and a non-human world, the characters were absolutely fantastic I loved Kate and Craig a lot but mama Lucy was amazing 🤭 I don’t necessarily like Forrest all the much 😑 the plot twists were fantastic keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! The writing was very well done and easy to follow along I highly recommend this one!

I got this on a stuff your kindle day and I didn’t have high hopes but it was definitely such an easy read.
Definitely a really easy YA novel to power through.
Great world building and the characters story lines draw you in with such ease.
Will definitely pick up the next book I think

A fast past YA fantasy novel. The characters are introduced quickly and the adventure is fast paced. There is humor, touch of romance and lots and lots of demons, dragons and magic. I am hoping the series continues with the pace and drama.

I love the basic premise of this story. It's a bit of a typical YA fantasy (teen who doesn't know who she is), but the world-building is excellent.
I know I'm a bit of a paper-book snob. Ebooks tend to rub me the wrong way. Especially since they tend to be filled with grammatical errors (arg). However, this was fine, for the most part. The pronouns are wrong frequently, and switch from first to third person awkwardly, sometimes in the middle of a paragraph. As a teacher, I'm used to reading around those mistakes, but the errors might make the story more difficult to follow for some readers.
Having said all that, I do love the story. And I can't wait to dive into the rest of the series.
Series. Again? Why do I keep having this problem?

Love these Characters!

I wasn't really too sure about even starting this book, but I'm glad I did! I am loving these characters and can't wait to see where Kate and Craig go from here. Forrester better step up his game! And just who is Harry, really.....and what really happened to Kate's clan! I'm off to the next book!

Enjoyed

Taken me a while to find a new series that draws me in, it does switch between characters often so can get a little confusing but other then that my only gripe was it was far too short

My My My, what an intriguing story.
Simply amazing. Cute and wholesome characters. A very fun tale full of mysteries and twists!
Also, a good dose of supernatural. I bought the box set on my kindle, and I am definitely going to read the second one.

Not bad, story contains the standard formula of most novels written these days. The female protagonist Kate, is orphaned and doesn’t know she is a “...insert mythical/paranormal/exotic character..” (dragon shifter). Enter the 2 rival princes, Craig the regular bad boy (half demon half human) and Forrest the perfect (dragon shifter) prince to create a standard love triangle.
Craig steals a sword, gets injured, meets Kate who takes him home and her adoptive witch mother heals him. She’s bumps into Forrest, they all have a fight and the three of them accidentally get sucked through a portal into strange land, which is infected, where they have to band together to survive. Kate obviously finds out some of her past, she’s the last of her kind and that saving the worlds is her destiny.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book and the story line. I don't often read about dragons and demons but I really liked how this was done. Kate is an orphan living with Mama Lucy when she meets 2 guys that change her life. She had no idea who or what she was until it's revealed to her and the way it was done was great. The only negative was that the book was so short that I finished it really quickly. I was very excited though that I was able to get the rest of the books in the series for free on Amazon so I will be reading them all. The ONLY negative about the book was the misspellings and there were ALOT but it's o.k story was great check it out!!

⭑ ⭑ ⭑ ⭑ / no spice

I got this book for free last year during Stuff Your Kindle Day (it’s still free now) and I will say that it is one of the BEST books I’ve gotten off there.

It could have gone with a bit more proofreading but the premise of the story and what it’s leading up to doesn’t have you worrying too much about it.

If you’re into dragons, witch’s, half-demons, and you’re a big sucker for adventure, give this a read and follow Kate, Craig, and Forrest on an incredible journey that’s just starting.

Cute book- quick easy read.
Very simple story. Kate’s father was killed when she was young and she’s been living in a foster house with a great woman who turns out to be a witch. She meets a demon Craig and a dragon shifter named forrester
Kate discovers she’s a powerful dragon, last of her kind and she needs to go on a mission to find a shield so she can save the word from a black plague.
I liked Kate and I liked the demon Craig’s banter. I will go to book 2

This is such a good book

I loved this book. I loved everything from the detail to the mystery. I did not dislike anything in this book because it really felt like the story was alive. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves when a story comes alive or a mysterious story. This book is so amazing and I hope you love it as much as I did.

That went fast than expected and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad. There is just so much going on and very fast. I'm sort of getting a feel for the characters but I'm still not sure. I think I'm following the story but it's hard to catch my breath. Plus the ending/cliffhanger ended a little abruptly. It's not bad for a start.

Rivals (Dragon Reign Book 1)

This was an excellent start to the dragon rain series. It had excellent character development and you came to like the main characters very well. I can’t wait to start the second book in the series.

Very good Paranormal pre Romance

Rivals, by Kit Bladegrave, may be the perfect book. The story, characters, pacing and editing are great. The only thing I didn't like about it is that I finished it!

I can't wait to read the rest.

I enjoyed this book. I loved Kate from the start and Craig really grew on me. I like that everyone is established really well. I'm still undecided about Forrest and think this could be an exciting series.

Exciting start to new series.

I love the story line. But, now I can see the prospect of a love triangle. Two prospects and one girl. Same ole story and one is bound to be rejected and it’s usually the one you’ve grown to like the most. Lol! Onward to book 2.

eh. interesting story. conversations seem a little too YA. Book was very short, seemed like the story for this first part of the series should have been a bit longer! I'm interested enough to start #2 to see where it goes.

Good first book

Not what I was expecting but the story flowed well and the characters are building nicely so you already relate to them. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

YA fantasy

Its a fun cliched fantasy novel. Full of the chosen one that doesn't know what they are, a love triangle and lots of adventure. Its a fun read with likable characters even when they annoy you. I'm looking forward to seeing what trouble the trio gets into next.

The story was exciting and kept your interest. I love the characters. I never thought of demons in a positive light before. I wish the story was longer. I will read the next book.

When I started this book I wasn’t sure if I would like it but it is very good and could not put it down. I cannot wait to continue the series to learn about Kate’s past and how she saves the world. Love this book and will be reading book 2 now.

This book kept surprising me. We have some great characters and a storyline that I though I knew how it was going to progress. I was completely wrong. Love the adventure and I need to know more about the "burnt world".

I was just not expecting it to be really good I am shocked and I can't wait to read the second one wow that just set it up, in reality if you want to read this think of it like a small novella setting up for the next novella

Not what I had hoped for

I struggled to finish this. The story moves too slowly. There is potential for a good story, but I think it needs editing and a few more drafts.
