Nerdspawn Genesis

Rate this book
Imagine being an adult nerd who still loves comic books. That’s not very hard, is it?
Now, Imagine discovering a son you never knew about. Geez, that escalated quickly. Here’s the cool part, the son has super-powers. And get this, your two best friends are also his father. Wow, sounds weird, doesn’t it? Believe it or not, Nerdspawn Genesis is about this very scenario! That’s probably not a shocker, it would be odd if I asked you all those questions in a blurb for a historical romance set in Elizabethan England. Sorry, no romance, but there’s a teenaged demonologist, a daytime talk show host, a trio of evil nerds, and surly teamsters. Are you convinced yet? What if I told you there’s a man in a bear suit? That got you, didn’t it? Go ahead, take the plunge, this story is hilarious! You have my word, this is a book anyone can love. Well, maybe not your grandmother. I mean... nothing against your nana... is she hip? If your grandmother’s hip she’ll probably like it.

Nerdspawn Genesis is an action-comedy written for comic convention aficionados, tabletop gamers, superhero movie lovers, and old school toy collectors. If you fall into any of those categories, then you’re in luck! I wrote this book for you! This book is not recommended for teamsters.

About the author

Bruce Leslie

7 books11 followers
Bruce Leslie is a prolific podcaster and die hard comic book fan. He resides in his West Virginia hideaway and reads, writes, watches movies and annoys thousands of people talking about it at length. He writes fun fantasy stories with humorous elements (well, he thinks they are humorous - you may disagree). He wasted the first half of his life getting a medical degree, but now he is indulging his creative side. Though he doesn't write comic books they are the stories that influenced him the most (Stories like Bone, Skull Kickers and Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham). Though he is fully aware that he will never be the next Tolkien, GRRM or Rowling, he believes anything worth doing is worth doing poorly!

I originally read this book in 2017. The week it was released. I enjoy all of the authors podcasts and chuckled at the inside references and jokes that were geared to listeners. As someone around the same age as the author I especially enjoyed all the 70's and 80's pop culture references.
Recently the author recorded and released an audio version of NERDSPAWN via his Heroes and Villains podcast feed.
Bruce has grown as a voice actor/narrator. Listening to the audio version was pure enjoyment for me. I recommend this book to anyone who was raised on 80's sitcoms and farce.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
