I so love this one! The story is short but beautifully written and I want more especially the epilogue.
The story is about Harrison and Felicity.
She's a foster kid since her parents died in a car crash. Her foster sister talked her into going out. They went to a bar and there she met Harrison.
He noticed her and can't stop staring at her from the moment she walked in the door. They left together and had a great night at his place but he fell asleep and when he woke up, she's gone.
He didn't stop until he found her. Didn't even expect how young she was. Her life's not easy and he found her at the time she needed him the most.
I love how he takes care of her and protects her. He's a very sweet man. He's not that OTT alpha male but he's perfect just the way he is!
Harrison is a 37 year old who meets the much younger Felicity (17 - age of consent is 16 in their state) when she sneaks out of her foster home at the insistence of the foster sister. While he knows she is younger than 21, he has no clue she only 17. He knows she is meant to be his and sets out to find her after she leaves in the middle of their night together. This was a steamy hot, safe read with no cheating or ow/om drama. No pushing away. An ok epilogue.
A hot little taboo read from my favorite author duo! Our main couple is a 37 year old billionaire, Harrison and 17 year old, Felicity.
Felicity’s foster sister guilts her into sneaking out to the bars while the foster parents are out. While out at the bar, Harrison takes one look at Felicity and wants her. He knows she’s young but never guesses that she’s only 17. When he finds out, it’s too late for him to let her go.
This had a lot of what I like in a novella. The older man/younger woman trope. The rich man/poor girl Cinderella trope and my favorite, the OTT Alpha persona.
Sweet and steamy but very disappointed it didn't have an epilogue with their baby! Edited to add second bonus story was amazing with the sweetest epilogue so 4 stars! :)
This is definitely in the category of taboo since Felicity is only 17 and Harrison is almost 20 years older. Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No om/ow drama. Ex foster sister of h tries to cause some problems for the couple. H’s past isn’t talked about except that he has never gone without a condom before, h is a virgin. No abuse.
"The Virgin's Guardian" is the story of Felicity and Harrison. Basically, our heroine is an orphan who escapes from her sh*tty foster family and has a one night stand with the hottie Harrison. At stroke of midnight, she escapes, is caught, and thrown into facility. When Harrison find out next morning that his woman has escaped, he sets out to find her and ends up filing to be her guardian. Semi taboo, May December, sweet romance between a devoted, caring hero and a sweet heroine. I really enjoyed it, and the sex scenes were hot. Sweet epilogue! I didnt know how FD got lost in my TBR, but she's back with full force. Safe 4/5
Un romance con un pequeño tabú y un cuento de hadas con final vaporoso
The virgin's guardian de Fiona Davenport
Felicity is months away from being eighteen, which means aging out of the foster home she's currently in. She lost her parents at a young age, and as there was no other family, she was forced to go into the system. The Jenkins family isn't the worst, but they aren't exactly going to win any awards either. Their daughter, Carrie, can't even be considered a friend, but when she nags Felicity into going out with her and her friends, Felicity goes, though she usually adheres to every rule, not wanting to risk being moved again, especially as she doesn't know what she'll do once she's forced out.
Felicity and Carrie sneak into the bar, and Felicity immediately wants to go home, even though she's noticed the obviously older man checking her out. She can tell he's out of her league, he's clothes screaming he has money, but for some reason he continues to watch her, and when she makes her excuses to leave, he's right there, offering to drive her home.
Harrison knows she's younger than him, but he can't stop staring at her. She calls to him, and he needs to answer it, and discover what it is about her. Learning she's hungry, and seeing she doesn't eat enough, he offers to feed her, and uses the excuse to take her to his home. Though he plans on acting the gentleman, it isn't long before their intense chemistry is acted upon, and he knows he'll never let her go. Until he wakes up alone, and is forced to hunt her down, and when he does, he learns her age, twenty years younger than him, and that their night together cost her what little security her foster home gave her as she was sent to a group home in punishment.
Felicity can't believe it when Harrison reappears in her life, a week after she lost everything again, and states he's her new guardian. She hasn't been able to stop thinking about the sexy man, but with losing her home, being forced into a new group home, and still needing a plan for the next phase in her life, she's been overwhelmed with everything going on.
They both know they need to keep their distance, at least intimately, until Felicity is eighteen because even the hint of a relationship between them could mean Felicity being taken from him, but their connection is undeniable, and they can't resist acting on it again, especially when Harrison realizes their first night together resulted in a gift, one he created with his future wife.
Can Harrison and Felicity keep their true relationship a secret until she's eighteen? Or will someone learn the truth and decide to use it against Felicity? Can Harrison protect her? Will they get their HEA?
One-click now and follow along as two people meet and make an instance connection, before life pulls them apart, causing one to do everything in his considerable power to reunite them.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
Short and very sexy story with insta-everything and a young, hot, millionaire, overprotective and take-charge guy who steps in for a fragile, vulnerable and orphaned, 19 yr-old beauty; oh my ! You need a suspension of reality and maybe also of ethics to read this, still, you might like it ;)
The story is about Harrison and Felicity. She is a good hearted young woman who has been in foster care since her parents died in a car crash. She doesn’t do anything to step out of line unlike her foster sister. On the night she meets Harrison, her foster sister talks her into going out to a bar and that is where she meets Harrison. She is 17 to his 37. He noticed her and can't stop from looking at her from the moment she walked in the door. They ended up leaving together and had a great night at his place but he fell asleep and she made her getaway for when he woke up, she was gone. Harrison immediately went to work on finding her and when he found her, he didn’t realize how young she was or how bad her life was but he was going to fix everything for her , starting from the moment he knew she needed help. Will their love be the one thing to save them or break them apart? This is full of steamy taboo heat and no ow/om drama. It was a safe read, full of a possessive, alpha male and a sweet, sassy heroine. I loved every moment and cant wait to read more stories like this from Ms. Davenport.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Hero - Harrison Brooks. Venture capitalist and billionaire. Tall and muscular with dark hair and eyes.
Heroine - Felicity Scott. High school student. Long, straight black hair and violet eyes.
Overall Thoughts - Meh. It was okay, but I found myself unable to connect to either main character and the plot was just too out of touch with reality. I wasn’t a fan of the writing in this one. I think this story was meant to be taboo considering the heroine’s age, but the somewhat vague or glossed over way it was written left me feeling more exasperated than anything.
My biggest issue with the plot is that it has zero ring of truth to it. I can swallow some pretty far out premises as long as the setup for it makes sense. I didn’t feel like anything about this book made sense. Felicity agrees to go to a bar despite not intending to drink anything other than soda. What was the point? She leaves with a stranger (Harrison) and puts up zero resistance when she discovers he’s driven her to his house. She doesn’t let anyone know where she’s gone or who she’s with. She fails to mention her age to Harrison before sleeping with him which is pretty evil. What if he’d absolutely hated himself after discovering the reality? She takes that choice away from him and then adds salt to the wound by sneaking out on him.
About him becoming her guardian...I mean, I guess I can see why. He knew he could provide a better life for her and other than this route, there was nothing he could do but wait until she aged out of the system. At the same time, it doesn’t make sense that he’d put himself in a position of authority over her. Because of this, and despite claiming to have the money and power to do just about whatever he wants, Harrison decides it’s best that they abstain until her birthday. I didn’t really get that - they’ve already crossed that line. Abstaining from here on out isn’t going to change that. Then there’s a and that all goes out the window anyway. What was the point?
One of the worst things is that it feels like Felicity doesn’t want the same things as Harrison, which is understandable. He wants a wife and children. She’s still in high school. They’re at completely different points in their lives, and being a wife and mother isn’t a topic that’s crossed Felicity’s mind. Of course, by the end she just accepts that it’s going to happen. Their relationship just feels so unbalanced which made me a bit uncomfortable at times.
The conflict with her former foster family was silly and they came across as one-dimensional villains. There’s also inconsistencies - for example, when they drive to his house, she tells him her full name. Then after she sneaks out and he’s compelled to hunt her down, he says he discovered her full name by having someone hack the ride share app she used. The HEA is really unsatisfying.
I just wasn’t into this one. Too bad since the premise, if handled well, could have resulted in a steamy, taboo read. Instead, it’s just a vague mess.
I really enjoyed this quick read. It was sweet and sexy. I really liked Harrison a lot. He was a great character. Felicity was strong and independent but not to the point where it was annoying. I find that a lot of books that try to go that route with the heroine that they miss the mark and she’s insufferable.
If you have triggers be forewarned that through almost the entirety of the book, Felicity is 17. Harrison didn’t know that the first time together but it really didn’t do much to deter him either. I’m here for that type of thing though lol. I would guess that’s why it’s not on Amazon any longer.
Not only did I like the characters but I thought the writing was great. I really enjoyed Harrison’s pov, it gave me all the feels. I would def recommend this book.
I admit that I got a little confused when I saw that the H's name in this book was Harrison because that's also the H's name in My Step-Dad's Brother. It's a little thing but it kind of annoys me because there are so many male names so there's really no reason to recycle them. Felicity is months away from turning 18 and aging out of the Foster Care system. Her parents died in a car accident when she was ten years old and she's been with her current family since she was thirteen. Her foster parents have a daughter her age named Carrie who convinces Felicity to sneak out with her to a bar. Harrison Brooks is 37 years old and he's made billions of dollars as a Venture Capitalist. He notices the beautiful woman as soon as she walks into the bar and he can immediately tell she doesn't belong there. Felicity is uncomfortable being at the bar with Carrie and her friends. She tells Carrie she's leaving and that she'll take an Uber home by herself. On her way out Harrison stops her and they start talking and she accepts his offer of a ride home. He hears her stomach growling and doesn't want her going home hungry so he takes her to his house to feed her. She doesn't think about the consequences when she kisses him and they end up in his bed. He's surprised and honored when he realizes she's a virgin and he's shocked when he wakes up and she's gone. He checks his surveillance cameras outside his house and sees that she called a car at 1:30 in the morning. He's now determined to find her to make sure she's okay and because he wants more of her. This book was so sweet, I friggin' loved Harrison and together they were awesome.
WHAT WORKED: That. First. Meeting. LOVED IT. That was electric. Loved Davenport's descriptiveness. Her love scenes. The vivid imagery she used had me picturing everything with complete ease. I love her languaging. Did I say it enough yet? I love her author voice. Loved the hero, Harrison.
WHAT NEEDED WORK: Pace was a bit 'go-stop-slow-go'. A bit of fact-checking on group home protocols when transfering a ward of the state to a new home. There were some editing hiccups, for example: when the hero drove to the heroine's school, it said it was at least 20 minutes away from his home on the way there, but only 10 mintues back. The heroine's inner workings somehow weren't as clear to me as the Hero's. I felt Felicity could have used a little more fleshing out. Something was missing there.
OVERALL: A hot little novella, and a delicious taste of what this author can do. Will defintiely explore more of her work in the future. 3.5 stars.
Harrison is a billionaire that meets Felicity at a bar. She is a good girl, but goes home with him anyway. He obviously thinks she’s older than she is. These two have a smokin hot night together, but she leaves after he falls asleep. She’s a foster kid trying to get back before her curfew. She doesn’t make it and the family sends her back to the group home. This is where Harrison steps in and becomes her guardian.
I really liked the storyline, I thought it was a little bit different than the normal storylines of older man, younger woman. I love that he adores her and spoils her like she deserves. It was a short, steamy insta-love with some baby batter thrown in...basically I loved it....yummy.
I got this one as a freebie from Fiona Davenport’s newsletter. This one may have been pushing it a little bit seeing as a lot takes place before Felicity turns 18 and Harrison ends up becoming her legal guardian. But if you can look past all that, for fiction’s sake, this story was actually really good and well written. I just hate they are so dang short. What I’d give to have more time with all of Davenport’s characters. I love them all so much that I would happily live in their books forever.
THE VIRGIN’S GUARDIAN was a quick read with another delicious OTT alpha. Like with all the guys this author writes (at least the ones I have read), once they set their hearts on their girl, nothing will stop them from claiming her. 5 Stars!!
A little taboo, and the fastest insta-love you can imagine.
I love this kind of sweet romance that's under a pile of naughty behaviour and a far-fetched premise. A young woman who's about to leave foster care meets a gorgeous bilionaire who shows great kindness to her, and they both fall in lust forever.
Many obstacles try to separate them, but this man is driven! He shows no limits when it comes to protecting her and loving her. I really enjoyed this novella with an obsessed kisser of an alpha-male intent on providing his woman with all the care, happiness and safety she's always lacked. Add to that lots of steamy times and a dirty epilogue, and you're in paradise :-D
This one fell for me because Felicity was 17 when she and Harrison had sex.. now he didn't know she was 17 but he didnt ask.. but when be found out her age he didnt mind since she was going to be his last. Now consent age is 16 so.. yeah.. but then it got wired.. since she's in foster care he adopts her so she wont be in the system... so felicity moves in and they have sexual tension... yeah :( sad
No om but slight ow drama (her ex foster sister), drama, no cheating, sexy times, Virgin gal and no manwhore
Recommend- ehh maybe Cover-⭐⭐⭐
Instalove/lust Older/younger couple No condom Safe 17/18h/37H Hea Epilogue
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The main story will have you burning the sheets up!! There is nothing hotter than an older alpha man who sets his sights on the forbidden girl. He stops at nothing to have her and protect her and he is not letting her out of his sight. Just beware bc the book is extra hot!!
The bonus novella is a Christmas story about second chances and how that packed so much goodness into one little story amazes me. This was like finding that extra little gift under the tree! Loved it!
The first story was about an older man who has sex with a young woman whom he thinks is old enough, but in actuality is only 17. I guess whatever state they are in the age of consent is 17 and not 18 like some states. However she is in a foster home and gets sent back to a state group home when her foster parents find out. The older man then finds the girl and somehow grease hands so he ends up becoming her guardian. I usually love these types of stories with the older man and young virgin, but even this story had me questioning his motives.
The second book is a cute story (probably to offset the first story) of a girl who recently graduated high school and is going to college. It is Christmas and she has a wish to see her old boyfriend (her first and only) from when she was a freshman in high school and he was a junior. He had moved with his family to the other side of the country and they end up losing touch. Suffice to say, she gets her Christmas wish and they live HEA.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review
What can I say about this little short story that doesn't give it away? Hmmmm....
It was yummily smutastic! It was taboo! It had a shy, sweet, virginal, YOUNG heroine that was likeable It had an Alpha older male that was all in from word GO
I enjoyed it very much however I slightly worry about it's reception since the heroine is 17 years old. It is stated that the age of consent is 16 so everything is very legal but that won't stop the feeling of it being taboo. And you know what? That kinda made it even hotter! Yep, I think so! What made this a homerun for me was the hero though. He was such a good blend of alpha and sweet. He wasn't caveman but he took charge and made sure his woman was taken care of.
There was a smidgen of drama that was nice enough to keep the story from being only smutty and definitely kept it from being boring. Honestly? I wish it were longer. I would have really enjoyed it being drawn out more, experienced more drama or backlash.
If you like Fiona and the girls you won't be disappointed in The Virgin's Guardian
I received this free book for signing up for fiona Davenports newsletter. It was banned on Amazon for being too taboo (age gap). I loved it! Forbidden guardian/ward trope is one of my faves. This was deliciously steamy with an older hero and younger heroine. They fall in love a couple months before her 18th bday (hence the taboo.) when heroine is tossed out of her foster home, hero uses his power and influence to become her guardian.
I loved the hero—he was obsessed with heroine and 100% alpha caveman, all about claiming and protecting her. And lotsa baby making!!
Super safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating or abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue years later.
This book is hot hot hot. A little on the taboo side but nothing too risqué. Fiona Davenport has written another best seller. It's a quick read about a young woman about to age out of the foster care system. One night she meets the man of her dreams and they spend the night together. When Harrison finds out Felicity is 17, and 20 years younger than him, he is shocked but even more determined to not let her go from his life. His plan? Apply for guardianship until Felicity turns 18 in a couple of months. They just have to make sure they follow the rules and remain platonic. I absolutely loved THE VIRGIN'S GUARDIAN. You will too
