International bestselling authors Jeremy Robinson and Kane Gilmour imagine a world mixing the savagery of the History Channel’s Vikings with the frenetic chase scenes of Mad Max, resulting in a high-octane battle with the fate of humanity at stake. The world is barely holding on. A century after a series of apocalyptic events, humanity is struggling to survive. In the frigid north of Scandinavia, people have returned to farming, fishing, and fighting amongst themselves, living as their ancient Viking ancestors once did. But their days in the world are numbered. The last tattered remnants of humankind have become barren. No new live births have occurred in over a decade. When the remaining population dies, the human race will end. When a call goes out to the greatest fighters in the North, men capable of surviving a long journey and crushing any obstacle in their path, a young female berserker named Val takes up the challenge. With her eyes hidden behind red-lens goggles, she violently proves her worth, seizes control of a small band of fellow berserkers, and heads south to claim her the first glimmer of hope for a tomorrow. Traveling deep into the wastes of Europe, surrounded by dangerous landscapes and the mutated creatures that populate them, they find themselves pursued by enemies determined to stop them at all costs. Attacked from without and betrayed from within, Val fights for the future, and if she fails, humanity fails along with her.

In a ravaged world, in the wilds of Scandinavia, their is a civilisation that has survived..... barely. They are barren, with no live births in over a decade. A scientist has put a call out for the greatest warriors because there is hope for humanity, but it's in Italy, and with no way to get there quickly or safely, it's an important but extremely dangerous mission.
Val is determined to lead the mission, and with proving her worth in a battle, she is tasked with bringing the genetic material back from Italy. Along with a small group of Vikings, Val sets out with some provisions and the few quads they have managed to keep running. But the world is totally different than what they are used to and the group have to contend with mutated animals and groups of gangs. Can they make it or will this be the death of them?
I devoured this book!! It was absolutely brilliant!! Comparing it to "the savagery of the History Channel’s Vikings with the frenetic chase scenes of Mad Max" sums this up perfectly. I adored the Viking group, especially Val and Ulrick. Val was such a kick ass character and her second in command Ulrick was the same. Ulrick respects Val in a way none of the others do. He backs up her decisions and Val comes to rely on him too.
Right from the start, we are brought into the action and taken on an unforgettable journey. The world these authors have created was brutal, deadly and oh so good!! The team have to learn new things as they go, have to learn to work together and most importantly, learn to trust each other, and I loved seeing that play out. Things don't always work smoothly, but I loved how Val does her best for all her men.
In all, this was an action packed, adventurous and extremely fun book to read. I've always loved reading about the Vikings, and when you add in a creature feature, I knew I'd love this, and love it I did!! Filled with amazing characters, danger at every turn, deception and plenty of action, this is a must read for everyone!!! I really hope we get to see Val and Ulrick again soon.
What can I about Jeffrey Kaffers performance that I haven't said before?? Every book he reads, he brings his "A" game. He read this well and his accents were actually pretty good. I say that because he had to do quite a few different ones here and they were great. He is so easy to listen to and nails the performance.
I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
Viking Tomorrow is quite possibly the best book I've read all year! Jeremy Robinson and Kane Gilmour knocked it out of the park with this EPIC thriller. It has everything you would want from a post-apocalyptic adventure. Mutated creatures, cannibals, marauding gangs, and a badassed group of Vikings on a quest to save what's left of humanity. I loved Val, Ulrik, and Agnes!! The exciting action kept me on the edge of my seat until the wee hours of the morning. This novel literally one-more-chaptered me out of a nights sleep :) My only regret is that there are only 5 stars available because Viking Tomorrow deserved at least 10. Phenomenal book!
As I was reading the review left on this site I noticed that many readers seems to like this book more than I did and I am not sure why. First, let me say that Robinson takes a few risks with this story and for that I appreciate that. He does not play it safe and that may make a few readers angry but I think it is a strong part of the book. If you like action you came to the right story, this book is like a cross between Mad Max, Medieval Times, and the SyFy channel. My only criticism is that the story takes place in our not to distant future and the world has moved on from technology. Yet when they need supplies our heroes always seem to find what they need despite organized gangs of motorcycle baddies that should have captured all the old world items by now. And of course we have on our team someone who "has read the books of the old ones" and "knows about ge-ne-tics." Still with those few road bumps I was very happy with the story and look forward to the next installment.
Let me start with I have been obsessed with Vikings and everything to do with them recently because of the TV Series that I just started watching a month ago and have binged watched.
This was an amazing listen for me. Kane and Jeremy did an astounding job of creating a world that was not online believable but sucked you in and you couldn't put it down.
Jeffrey was an amazing reader and I look forward to more of his works! There were many accents in the story from German, Italian and so much. The action scenes kept you on the edge of your seat! This is a wonderful combination of the world Vikings, the game Fallout and Mad Max and I couldn't stop listening!
The story starts off relatively normal. A small family of 3 live in Sweden and are living happily when something happens. I can't really tell you much without ruining any details. But the little girl survives and she is tough as nails and one bada**. Fast forward several years to Scandinavia. The world is in ruins. Cities have crumbled and there is radiation throughout the land creating monstrous beings! A call for the best viking fighters goes out and the vikings all gather and immediately there are battles. Val, the little girl from before proves herself worthy to be a leader to a small party of vikings to set forth on an adventure to Italy. The population is doing great to survive as it has. But there is one thing. One really big thing. Their have been no live births in a decade and the human race is dying. But there is hope. In Italy they believe they have found a cure for this. But the way is treasonous and they face many foes from mutant monsters you wouldn't dare cross to gangs worth than your nightmares.
This small group of vikings are the best warriors the north has and all have something special to offer the group. Ulrick offers support to Val and I wish and hope they hook up in a later book because they would create a power couple like no one else! You grow to love each character, minus a few, a few you just hate from the beginning.
I can't get over how amazing this story was. They create images in your mind of the scenery, the action, and everything just so perfectly. I cannot wait until the next book. This book keeps you on your toes.
This deserves SO MUCH MORE than just 5 stars. I cannot express my love for this book. When I saw this I about squealed with delight and I can't wait to purchase the 2nd book. It is very very much worth a credit or any amount of money.
I requested and was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review with my honest opinion.
I'm of 2 compeeting mindsets when it comes to Viking Tomorrow.
One one hand, the book is really quite good. If you've read and Jeremy Robinson before, you know what I'm getting at here: requisite non-stop action, breathless pacing, a plot that seems too crazy and out there to work but comes together in the end to make perfect sense and leave the reader wanting more. How he came up with placing Vikings in the apocalypse is beyond me, but, for the most part, it works.
On the other hand, Viking Tomorrow wasn't Robinson's best work. Like, I said, it's still a far better read than 90% of the mainstream authors who try to delve into this mashup of genres, and it's still a lot of fun, but somewhere within these pages, the book just started to lose its uniqueness. I love post apocalyptic nightmares as much as everyone else (hell, probably even more than some), but after awhile, when every single cliche and pitfall of the genre makes itself known in a book, then there's nothing special or different about it. Viking Tomorrow unfortunetly falls into that category the longer it goes on. Brutal wasteland dictator? Check. Crazed cult-like murderers? Check. Roving band of killer motorcycle gangs? That's there too. Honestly, every single attribute we've seen in films like Mad Max are here. And I wouldn't have had a problem with any of those had they had a special backstory or reason for being written in (other than for more bodies to pile up at the feet of Val and her viking crew). Robinson is known for writing some decent, original characters in his 50+ novels, but sadly, that's not on display here.
Than again, sometimes a gorefest of post apocalyptic vikings is exactly the kind of novel you need once in a while.
This book opens with a fairly common scene, a child left orphaned after a tragedy befalls her parents, but despite us returning to her after she has grown up, this does not become a defining part of the story and is dealt with almost in passing because it isn't as important as the primary quest of our viking heroes.
Many years after some undefined catastrophe has destroyed almost all technology, set the surviving humans back to a more medieval time and left many areas and countries extremely hazardous due to mutated animals, a small group of vikings led by the young woman named Val embark on a quest to find some genetic material that is needed to help ensure the survival of the human race as a whole.
Through the course of this journey, the party is beset by numerous troubles from a shadowy foe who controls various bizarre remnants of humanity to delay or stop our heroes and seemingly has help from a traitor within the party of vikings. This journey is predominantly through Germany and it was an interesting change to hear about places I recognised from there being mentioned in this post-apocalyptic setting.
I hadn't read or heard anything from these authors before this book, but will be looking for further work from them with interest as they had a very good blend of story, characters and world-building that resulted in a compelling start to an interesting series.
The narrator of this book had a pleasant style that nicely enhanced my enjoyment of the book, albeit without maybe providing sufficient distinction between the various characters that appeared in the book.

I've read quite a few of Jeremy Robinson's novels.. and "Viking Tomorrow" kicks it up to a whole new level! The story is about the few remaining humans left on the planet. What the population doesn't know.. they're about to die off.. due to no one being able to conceive. They are tasked with traveling through wastelands that haven't been traveled in centuries. There be monsters.. and some really wild humans that have taken to worshiping some really weird stuff.
I love how they ride out on four wheelers! None of them have ridden fuel powered vehicles in their lives. So, the learning curve is a bit of a riot to read about! So believable! The crew finds themselves with a young woman in charge. She takes no chit from anyone. And, she fights to win. Physically and mentally. She keeps the small group moving daily. Time is important.. it's a race to save humankind! Great action!
I was ready for a raucous adventure. And I got it. Val, the main character, is enigmatic. There is a large gap in her time--perhaps another bloody novel? This book is grisly--Mad Max for the Vikings. But it is a fun read. As the rowdy troupe travels across Europe, all the mutated animals attacking them are gooshy, messy, and a gory read. But it definitely itches that spot you may have for a fanciful tomorrow. There are a couple twists that were fun to me.
If you are looking for a fun, bloody, page turning adventure, this is a great one to pick up. I hope there will be a sequel. And I hope they are able to keep their axes as sharp as ever.
A post-apocalyptic quest adventure set sometime in the indeterminant future, this book has it all: monsters, combat, and of course, Vikings. Summoned for a mission with nothing less than the fate of the world at stake, a savage group of warriors are gathered for a dangerous journey across Europe. Since the technologically of the age has atrophied, travel isn't much easier than it was in the original Viking age. Brutal opponents target the team at every turn, and then there are the monsters. Whatever caused the world's depopulation and technological backslide generated dangerous radiation. And this radiation did horrible things to the wildlife which survived the cataclysm.
All told, this is an amazing beginning to a new series. I'm already anxious to read the next book.
If you love post-apocalyptic novels, you can't go past this new novel by Jeremy Robinson and Kane Gilmour. Set in a future world that has been destroyed by many disasters, Viking Tomorrow tells the story of Val, a mysterious Viking warrior who leads a group of men to find the answer to their survival. Unfortunately, there are blood thirsty enemies along the way that are determined to undermine their success. A fast-paced action-horror thrill-ride that will keep you breathless until the very last page, and have you begging for the next book in the series, Viking Tomorrow is not to be missed.
Sometimes you want something a little different when wanting something to read. And this for the bill. A post apocalyptic tale with a Viking twist. The characters are unique enough to be interesting, although with the main character Val we go from her being a little girl to a full fledged warrior in a couple of chapters. If there is more I'd personally like to see the years inbetween to see how she grew into that particular role but that's just me. The story does end on a jumping on point for a second novel so hopefully we'll get that. But besides that I would recommend this book to anybody looking for something a little different.
Violence is cool if you read it...and the goodguys are dishing it out.
Big fan of the author so I downloaded it. The opening was just perfect. Although it seemed borrowed. I distinctly remember reading a book involving a boy instead of a girl. A quasi pet wolf instead of a seal. And a polar bear. I can't remember the book but I read it within the past year. Anyone else notice this? Remember the title? Anyway, the characters are fun, heroic, violent, and tough. I look forward to the next one.
Viking Tomorrow is an excellent post apocalyptic story. The characters are great, and while I liked Val and her kick-ass attitude, my favorite was actually Ulrik. As I was reading, I felt that the various settings were so intense that they were as vital to the story as the characters. They were in some tough places that caused me to be concerned for their future. I enjoyed this story from start to finish, and am looking forward to more in this series from these two outstanding authors.
Listen, when I saw the word 'Viking' I was uncertain that I would like this story. But hey, it's Jeremy Robinson and he has NEVER disappointed, so I dove in.
Two days later, I'm finished and wanting more. The blend of Norse elements with the apocalyptic story is handled perfectly. The characters are great. The tale is tremendous. This one would make a great movie!
Excellent read. I can't wait to see how the story develops. So many possibilities. Would love to see how other people of the world fared and maybe how the world has come to be in this state. I know Jeremy & Kane won't disappoint. Their writing styles lend itself to this kind of action packed story. I could definitely see this adapted as a movie.
Awesome action packed novel about the new breed of Vikings
In the far future Earths populationnhas been decimated by several causes and the future of mankind can only be saved by a female viking warrior and her band of fighters. Great concept, loved the characters and the plot twists kept me hooked. Read the book in two days and am looking forward to read more in the what I hope wil become new series. Indiana Jones meets Mad Max, wow what an awesome read this was. One of the authors best books so far👍
I've read a ton of Apocalypse books and this book's Premise was different from all the others. There was more than enough action to satisfy action junkies like me and enough intrigue to keep you guessing. Needless to say, I loved the book and characters. Just wish more of them survived. Don't keep me waiting for the next installment!
It's the end of humanity and something must be done to stop it. Val is ready to help. The journey begins with a group of people that have trust and other issues they will overcome. Along the way they gain an ally but they don't know they are being betrayed. The action is non stop and the perils are hair raising. I hope there is a sequel. I don't want all those fictional deaths to be for nothing.
Viking Tomorrow was a fun read, a bit outside my norm, but Robinson and Gilmour may have changed my mind. They’ve fleshed out a cool setting, a couple hundred years or so after an apocalypse, and the warriors who rule in this future are ruthless and cold-blooded, as one would expect. And they still manage to get some monsters in. :-) Check this one out!
I read too many books to leave reviews for most of them. However this book was so rehabilitate i had to leave a quick review to thank the author for breaking the cycle of predictable post apocalypse books i have read recently! I hope that there is a sequel to this!
The story is essentially a post modern world Viking saga where a small group of Scandinavian warriors must overcome death defying odds.. I liked the fact that the story takes place throughout the European continent instead of America.. I really enjoyed reading it, and hope for a sequel in the future!
True fan of Viking sagas and appreciated this new twist on the apocalyptic future. Impressive character development. Easy to get vested in each one quickly. Break neck action that is depicted very clearly. Truly hoping for the second book in the series to come out soon. Enjoy!
Normally I'm not a fan of male writers writing from a female perspective..it just seems off some how. Not the case in this book. Lots of action with humor thrown into the mix. One of those books you don't want to put down. Jeremy Robinson and Kane Gilmour did another first date job. Looking forward to the next installment.
An epic voyage to save the human race. Filled with Viking battles and mythology. Jeremy Robinson and Kane Gilmour have crafted an amazing journey. Two books remain to be written and published in this series, and can only be accomplished with our help. Read the book, write a review. Tell everyone you know. Let's get this series complete!!!
Enjoying all of Jeremy Robinson’s novels, this one is definitely included! I also like that it will be a 3 novel saga, not one that goes on and on for numerous sequels. If you like Jeremy Robinson, and post apocalyptic genre you won’t be disappointed!
Wow! I couldn't put this book down. A strong, capable and fearless woman leading a team of men on a mission to save the human race. What's not to love!
Tons of action with a credible plot in a future apocalyptic world. The cast of characters is well written and Val is just a harass! Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
Anyone who likes the world of Vikings would enjoy reading the adventure in this post-apoptilitic world. Could be more fighting for the beserkers to showcase their skills. Needs more violence
Interesting idea for a post apocalyptic story. I've read a lot of Jeremy Robinson's book and this was no different, fast paced, action packed, with a little mystery of the unknown.
Excellent read of a post modern world and it is a survival of the fittest. Filled with challenges, twist and turns Viking Tomorrow will test the limits of human resilience. Robinson never disappoints in his story telling. This a book that is hard to put down.
