A gentle unravelling slow burn love story about Anika, a woman jaded and burned by her cheating husband and his criminal past. Anika returns to her old home town to recover from her broken marriage but even there, her past life with her husband haunts her and threatens to destroy the little happiness she has. Enter Kade, a skilled carpenter and handyman who takes it upon himself to help protect her. This is a sweet romance set in a small town following a 30+ couple as they fall in love

Anika is devastated, once she finds out the man that she married is really a wolf in sheep's clothing. After years of pretending and being left alone with her children, she's had enough and files for divorce. Her heart longs for the countryside where she grew up. So, she packs up the kids and moves back to her hometown of Ashford.

After reading Southern Wind and experiencing the great focus on horses, I was hoping for that in this novel too! There were less horses but the romance was a good one and the story line interesting. An entertaining read.
