Tyus Anthony is the fastest man in football. He's also one of the sexiest. He's an advertising icon, his cut body and smoldering eyes on billboards across the country. Women want him. Agents stalk him. Coaches have tried for years to poach him, but what matters to Tyus more than anything is family, and that includes his team. He'd do anything for the Kodiaks. He's willing to forsake everything and everyone for the good of the team.
Until he meets Mila Greene.
Mila is a born party girl. A true American heiress, she's been using her family's money and influence to jet set around the globe since before she could drive. Her life has been one scandal after another for as long as anyone can remember - until last year. Suddenly, without warning or explanation, Mila put the party animal inside her to rest. She's out of the tabloids and attending college, trying to get her life in line, but it's not as easy as it sounds. The moment she meets Tyus, the animal awakes with a growl. Tyus is hot. He's fun. He's trying to resist her, which just makes her want him even more. But he's also wildly off-limits for one very big, multi-billion dollar reason:
Mila's father owns the Kodiaks.
That fact should send Tyus running from MIla as fast as his feet can carry him, but as much as he understands the risks, he can't deny the rewards. Mila is trouble, but she's also exciting. Mesmerizing. There's something about the secrets hiding in her eyes and the carefree abandon of her laugh that pull you in and refuse to let you go. Big things happen around her. Great things. Terrible things. Things that could set you up for life or raze your world to the ground.
Love is a dangerous play to make, but when it's for the right person? That sh#t is worth risking a broken heart.

Each book in the Offensive Line series is a STANDALONE following a different player every time.
Broken Play is book five in the Offensive Line series by Tracey Ward. These books are available individually but I am reading them as part of the box set. By now, I’m so invested in these characters that are more of a family than they are team mates. This one was pretty emotional. I struggled a bit more with the relationship between Mila and Tyus, more than the other books. But, they are still so good for each other. At the end, there are so many surprises revealed. So I am going right on to the last full length book of the series, Alpha Foxtrot, which is Shane Lowry’s book, to see what comes next. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Lets talk about this one first.
Tyus Anthony is twenty four years old and is the wide receiver for the Kodiaks. Football is Tyus’ life, it’s all he cares about. So, when he starts having headaches, and some memory issues, he tries to hide it.
Mila Greene is nineteen at the beginning of the book but turns twenty during the story. She is the daughter of the owner of the Kodiaks. Mila has always been wealthy. Her parents love her and indulge her. But, she has addictive issues. Everything she does, she does to the extreme, drinks, drugs, sex, all of it. But for the past year, she’s been completely clean, going to college and trying to be better. The one thing Mila loves more than anything is the Kodiaks. They always have been. She dreams of being the GM of the team and of being the owner someday. And she strives to prove to her father that she can be the person to do it.
From the moment these two first meet, there are sparks, that chemistry that you can almost see it’s so strong. But Mila knows what her father is capable of if she allowed herself to be with Tyus. He would destroy him. The more these two interact, though, the less that matters because the bond between them grows stronger, their feelings undeniable. This is real and they want to make it work. But Tyus is keeping his secrets, even from Mila. Secrets that could end his life.
First, I want to say that I have some pretty strong feelings against Mila’s father. Yes, he loved his daughter. But I don’t believe he was a very good man. I did love Mila and Tyus. I believe the mistakes Mila made were just due to her age and that she proved more than once, that she was stronger than anyone gave her credit for. I loved Tyus too BUT he made some pretty bad decisions as well. With his own health. He put football before everything.
As I said, there are some big reveals at the end so I need to go right on to the next book and see what’s next. I don’t know much about this next character so I’m excited.

Each book in the Offensive Line series is a STANDALONE following a different player every time.
I’ve loved each book in this series but this one was a flop for me. The heroine was just... gross? I dunno. Spoiled, skanky, immature, annoying. I’m all for redemption but she honestly needs like another year of rehab, one for caring for a houseplant then like 5 with a pet before she cares for another person.
I don't even know what to say really. I felt all the feels so much deeper in this one. Mila was super relatable to me even though she's ridiculously rich, I think we've all been where she is and it made me root for her. I wanted so bad for her to just be happy. I hope she takes a page out of Sloane's book and sticks it to her dad(yeah I'm salty over some fictional people lol). Tyus man! His whole pov was a rollercoaster of some real shit. There's literally guys out there who go through that and it felt very honest and heartbreaking. I can't wait for the next one, and I'm all up in my feels about it after that epilogue. So mean lol
This was a fun read that left the reader satisfied - it was fast, fun, flirty and made the reader want to dive into the rest of the story! I loved the characters, the banter and the plot. I will be reading more by this author in the future!
What a great book to read while bringing in the new year. Literally finished it at 12:15 am lol. I loved Tryus story. It didn't play out how I expected and that was the best part.
If you love amazing character development, great dialogue, and believable characters, you're going to love this installment. Oh, and did I mention the steam level on his is STEAMY? Broken Play is a great read and there was a twist I didn't see coming, which was pleasantly surprising. I love how much emotion Tracey write in her stories. Everything about her work feels effortless and natural and meant to be. Can you tell I enjoyed it?
Stubborn and reckless, Mila Greene has grown up without any boundaries in her life. Now at 19, she is living with the consequences of her actions and fighting for the future she has always dreamed. Kodiaks player Tyus Anthony is not part of her carefully constructed plan. He has his own secrets, but Tyus believes he’s invincible and nothing will stand in his way. Tyus and Mila both lead with their hearts and let their emotions guide them. Despite their complex relationship, their connection is undeniable and I couldn’t get enough of their fiery chemistry.
I’m a huge sports romance fan. There are a lot of books out there in this genre, yet only a handful get it right. I want to read sports romance where the author makes me feel like I’m there in the moment. I can tell you, Tracey Ward gets it right. The realism in the descriptions and the behind the scenes action draws you in. I loved every moment with Tyus and Mila as they navigated through their tumultuous relationship and took me to places I didn’t expect. They made me swoon, smile, and laugh out loud at their banter. What a great way to start my reading for 2018!
I have to admit, I have been worried about Tyus since Colt's book and after reading this, I was gutted. Both Tyus and Mila are broken, for different reasons and both of them handle it in similar ways, denial being one of them, stubbornness being another.
Mila is the daughter of the Kodiak's owner and she is 19 and has always been a problem child. I think she mostly wanted some attention and maybe some boundaries from her parents. Tyus is a loyal guy who loves his family and has always wanted to play football more than anything else in life. He is hiding his injuries and his symptoms from everyone, including himself. He opened up a little bit to his best friend and teammate, Colt, but even then, not nearly enough.
Mila is trying to prove to her dad that she can be responsible enough for him to let her run the Kodiaks, instead of selling them. She has to get a job, keep up her grades and stay out of trouble. Oh and stay away from Tyus. One out of four isn't bad, right?
I couldn't help but feel that these two were a train wreck waiting to happen and I wasn't sure if Mila was the right person for Tyus. But, somehow, Tracey made me feel they would balance each other out.
I was happy but sad also with the ending of the book and I won't spoil it anymore so just read it yourself!
She did it again! This is one of my favorite series. Not only do we get to dive into the life of these fun football players, but each book lets us go back and check in with our favs (like Colt!). I loved Mila. She’s a strong, independent girl trying to find her way after struggling with addiction and being thought less of by her father. Tryus, of ive been watching him from the first book. I remember the first time his memory came into question in Sugar Rush. I’ve always had a soft spot for him so I was excited to read his story finally. I truly enjoyed this book. I’m not sure how I feel yet knowing my”team” is coming to an end. What will I do without my boys??? Thank you Tracey for this series.
Tracy Ward really has a deep understanding of this human condition called life. Her getting to the heart of Mila’s emotions and thoughts was amazing. Watching her growth, her healing and every thought in between was very thought provoking. Tracy didn’t skip over it, she didn’t trivialize it, she really reached deep.
It was another wonderful love story with all the feels, swoons and a hea. Worth every word.
Broken Play was such a great book! I’ve loved everything that Tracey Ward has written, and Broken Play is just off the charts for me. Amazing writing, you get hooked from the get go. The chemistry is off the charts and leaves you swooning from the beginning to the end. The writing is so great and just swoops you in and didn’t let go until the very end. You cannot go wrong by reading this book!
I love Tracey's writing and I love this series and she's seriously underrated. Tyus has something going on with his head and Mila also has something going on with her head but in a different way. She's spoiled rotten and she's young which if course makes her a little annoying. She's trying for redemption and Tyus us helping her get there. 4.5 stars.
So disappointed in this book. Liked everyone in it except Mila and her father. She wanted to take over the team but at 19 was immature and spoilt plus ended up with addictions to everything. Spoilt the book for me that I could only rate it a two. If first book had been like this would not have pursued others in the series,
I was so excited to read Tyus's story and wasn't disappointed. I did not expect his story to take the turn it did. And Mila - wow! She is something else! I don't know if anyone but Tyus could have handled her!!!
It was wonderful! Tyus and Mila were fantastic characters and i thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend it! I felt like it was a good portrayal of the NFL
