Having led a charmed life practically since birth, Hollywood heartthrob, Jack Cooper, has never had to ask forgiveness for anything…even when he should have. But with a new movie role that might skyrocket his career, Jack gets a second chance to clear the air for some long-ago errors in judgment, and to score some publicity points along the way. He sets off on a round-the-country tour to make amends to those whose lives he’s inadvertently harmed.
What makes the tour even sweeter? The studio’s director of Public Relations, Ruth Miller, is spearheading the effort. Though she’s shy, quiet, and more than a little attention-averse, there’s something about Ruth that keeps Jack searching for ways to make her smile.
For Ruth, those smiles are harder and harder to come by. After a lifetime of trying to please dear old Mom, a former Hollywood starlet who is now Ruth’s boss, Ruth scarcely knows what it takes to please herself anymore. And no matter how unexpectedly flirtatious Jack Cooper is, she knows that falling for him before she has her own head on straight would be a disaster.
Then Ruth and Jack hit the road, and she sees an entirely different side to the playboy. They have more shared interests and unexpected connections than she would have thought possible, and with each new stop on the tour, she finds how her own strengths mesh with his…and he helps her see how special she truly is.
Unfortunately, before Ruth can drum up the courage to ask for what she really wants, it may already be too late. Because with the enormously popular “Forgiveness Tour” coming to an end, Ruth realizes that Forgetting Jack Cooper may be impossible after all.
Elizabeth Bemis is a six-time Golden Heart® Finalist and 2012 Winner. Her first book, Love & Oreos was named a “Must Read” book of 2015 by USA Today, who said,
“Elizabeth Bemis makes her sassy, sexy, confetti-worthy debut with Love & Oreos, the first book in her Sudden Falls contemporary series. Bemis’ voice is humorous and sly, her characters realistically complicated, her storytelling engaging and silky smooth… The heart, heat, snark and energy in Love & Oreos make Bemis’ inaugural release a bright and buoyant win.”
When she’s not writing romance, she operates Bemis Promotions, an advertising agency for authors, fights for control of her house with her sons and various fur-bearing creatures. Forgetting Jack Cooper: The Soulmate Edition is written by Elizabeth Bemis and I give it 5 stars. This is the last book of the Series and I would suggest reading it last because it has pieces of all the other books in it.
Jack Cooper is not use to having to ask for forgiveness but in order to figure out how to play his new role he goes along with the bright idea of one Ruth Miller the PR Director of the studio the new film is being produced by. Jack decides to make up his own 12 step program and ask for forgiveness from some of the people he has wrong through out his life.
Ruth Miller doesn't have much confidence in her looks but she sure does in her job so when she goes on the Road with Jack Cooper she doesn't believe he is flirty with her because why would he want a plain Jane like her. Throughout their road trip they learn a lot about each other and start to work well together but can this be the beginning of something special? You will have to read it to find out.
This book is the last of the entertaining series “Forgetting Jack Cooper”. A set of stories about Jack Cooper, an up and coming actor. He is researching for a new part. A role about a man seeking redemption . Jack feels that in order to play the role well, he needs to find his own redemption for things and people he has wronged. The person in charge of the tour is Ruth Miller, the studio PR director. A woman who is overshadowed by her power and famous mother. Jack is happy to have Ruth by his side during this redemption tour and as time goes on what started out as being intrigued by Ruth, gets more complicated. A sweet ending to the series. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I really didn't like the character of Jack Cooper initially, but as I read the series I came to the point where you could see that Jack Cooper had never had to make an effort for anything in his life. With his redemption tour he is having to make an effort. Ruth Miller is along for the ride on this tour. And Jack comes to care for her and finds that there is a reason he made this tour. So he could move forward with his life! I enjoyed this series!
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
Forgetting Jack Cooper: The True Love Edition wraps up the Jack Cooper novellas and gives Jack his own HEA. Ruth Miller is the Public Affairs director assigned to Jack’s redemption tour, and daughter of the studio head. Somehow they manage to connect through all the chaos of Jack making amends. Readers of the other novellas in this series will find it somewhat repetitive as it recounts all the previous apologies, only from Jack’s Point of View. If you haven’t started reading this might be a better place to start.
I've read all the books leading up to this one and I have to be honest, I didn't really like Jack Cooper. From his past deeds, he was thoughtless and careless but his apology tour took on new meaning from his point of view. And I absolutely loved Ruth and the way Jack fell for her. Such a great series!!
3 stars- I liked(but not Liked!) this novella , as set up for a multi author collection of stories it worked well to make me wanted to read the others. As its own little romance, it was pretty thin.
Forgetting Jack Cooper: The Soulmate Edition by Elizabeth Bemis
Wow! Great ending to a great series. I thoroughly enjoyed every book. I found my heart getting invested in Jack Cooper. In the Soulmate Edition the series gets wrapped up. We get to read Jack and Ruth's story. We get to see Jack develop over the entire tour and Ruth experience changes herself. I really loved reading Jacks POV. I loved seeing his thoughts from the 4 previous stories in this book. I loved reading story of their entire journey. Amazing. I found myself screaming "Come on Jack get it together for Ruth. Come on Ruth get your man." I also was so happy that Jack got his happy ending.
The concept for this book series was outstanding. I loved reading every story. Through out the series you learn a bit about who Jack Cooper is. This was a great ending to the series and who better to write it than Elizabeth Bemis. Amazing author with a lot of talent and passion for her work. Way to go all of you!
