Keeping the Wolf

Rate this book
The path of true love… and all that. Wolf shifter, Harold Buchanan knew he would have an arranged mating since the day of his first shift. He always expected to mate a spoiled pack princess who would be no more interested in spending time with him than he would with her. However, when he first catches a glimpse of the beautiful she-wolf with an abundance of freckles and wild red hair, he quickly realizes his mating may not be as straightforward as he expected. For Christine Morrow, the arranged mating came as a complete surprise. She had a happy life with a good job, a handsome boyfriend, and was surrounded by a family and pack that loved her. But in the blink of an eye, she finds herself in a strange city and mated to a male she doesn’t know anything about. With a mating born of a business deal between two packs, and interfering parents and exes, can they learn to love and keep each other for the rest of their lives? Please note this story contains swearing, scenes of a sexual nature with m/f interaction, and angsty relationship stuff intended for mature readers. Keeping The Wolf - Elizabeth Ann Price

This story relates to characters we previously met in The Grey Wolf Pack Series, book 10, Mating The Red Wolf, featuring Ed Buchanan and his mate Kim a grey wolf shifter. We met the other members of Ed's family in that story and some of them do not exactly give you the warm and fuzzies. It's mainly his parents and vile grandmother in truth but I would of liked to know more about his siblings and their stories and this is about his eldest brother Harold Buchanan Jr.
Harold is a Red Wolf shifter from a pack in Virginia. When another red wolf pack from Texas reaches out to them for financial aid the elder Buchanans decide the only way to cement the deal is an arranged mating between the Alpha's of each packs eldest children. Harold knew from his first shift at the early age of thirteen that this was to be his fate and what he must do for the good of the pack as the future alpha. Christine Morrow, Christy to all but Harold was not prepared for this at all and it is a huge sacrifice she is making to help her pack but being an Alpha's Daughter she knows what she must do. They must mate and produce a male pup to confirm their family maintains the alpha line within the pack and maintain the support for her pack back in Texas, but it is not as easy as it seems on paper. Harold is much more likeable a character in this story because you get to see him for who he is, he is responsible for the pack but the emotions and feelings Christine brings out in him is so new to him I love how he cares for her, worries about her he becomes stronger although I think he still needed to deal with his family a little more firmly than he did. However the relationship between him and Christine blossoms into something beautiful and I am completely here for it, he shows a much softer side and some humour which I didn't expect from him. I loved this was a longer story that you could become lost in it, the newness of their mating, the heat and chemistry between them, the interfering ex's and family members it really was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I loved from beginning to end. I look forward to more from the Buchanan's in the future! Happy Reading.

Well, this wasn't what I was expecting... but that's a good thing!

Harold, the man with the worst parents ever and Christine, the woman whose parents kinda suck too.

So Christine's father isn't the brightest bulb on the planet and has no head for business. He needs a bailout from another pack and the best offer comes with a demand for his daughter to marry their son. Christine is like your regular girl next door.
Harold has known he would be forced into an arranged marriage for years, so it's no big surprise and he is prepared to be a decent husband. Like it's another work project. He has only dated dislikeable women because he knew he could never marry who he wanted to. He's pretty straightlaced and used to hiding his true feelings.
Harold and Christine meet and both are kinda taken aback... hmmmm... maybe...
And they do communicate and they do have serious HOT chemistry, but the odds are stacked against them.

There's;
-his sleezebag dad
-her foolish dad who never listens
-his diabolical grandmother
-her crazy ex
-his crazy ex

The story reads more like a mafia story than a wolf shifter story. Nobody ever shifts. They growl, they sniff, they heal fast but that's about it. If this was the Godfather, the grandmother would be Vito Corleone and Harold's father would be Michael's sister's scummy husband with the wandering eye. But really, it's not bloody enough to be a mafia story.

It's a story about two people forced to marry, who have more in common than they thought and slowly fall in love despite their family's ill wishes.

It was actually rather sweet ; )
There's also a wonderful epilogue that takes place 10 years later.

safety is fine

Another great book from EA Price. Definitely recommend reading this.

The book ties into the Grey Wolf Pack series, but you can read it as a standalone. You would have met some of the characters in Ed Buchanans book. I really enjoyed both characters, and how even through an arranged marriage they can still find love. Despite an interfering grandmother who is only interested in Christine falling pregnant and interfering fathers (on both sides) who try and break the marriage up.

Looking forward to more.

Awful family

An awful family who tries to ruin a couple they forced to mate. Harold was a terrible alpha male. His family was awful and he let them. Nothing changes throughout the text. I also didn’t buy the two father colluding together as the terms of the marriage contract meant one of them would lose out. Really truly awful.

Great Romantic stories that don't break the bank!!!
Sexy with cute story lines and no Billionaires...Thank you. Imaginative yet realistic ( as realistic as paranormal can be). I like and appreciate the story.

There were very few likable characters in this book. I hated the way they were controlled by their families.

I really liked this one! I found it through a review from someone else and I’m glad I did. The shifter aspect was quite watered down, there wasn’t much mention of it - for example it didn’t seem to affect anyone’s emotions or actions particularly - except for the fact that it was the reason their marriage was arranged in the first place of course.
I liked the characters a lot, and how they developed feelings for each other. I liked the angst and the drama. Not a book I’d read over and over, but I enjoyed it and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a sweet shifter romance 😉
