The complete Finding Me Duet includes LOST IN BETWEEN and FOUND UNDERNEATH plus a Bonus Scene previously published in A New Year’s Eve Anthology, which is no longer in publication.
Four months.
That’s it.
Smile. Dote. Look pretty for the cameras. Be his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. Four months, then I walk away two hundred fifty thousand dollars richer, never setting eyes on Shaw Mercer again.
No emotions, no strings, and definitely no falling in love with the client.
Yet, Seattle’s infamous playboy proves to not only be irresistible, he may be the man I never thought I wanted. What began as a ruse, a strategically planned campaign move suddenly morphs into reality, and I find myself breaking my own rules of self-preservation one by one.
But the world has a cruel way of slapping me across the face as she always does. Just when I think Shaw and I might have our happily ever after, my ex-fiancé re-enters the picture and flips our lives upside down with devastating secrets neither of us see coming, but more importantly, neither of us will be able to escape.
I can only stand by and watch helplessly as the future I’d allowed myself to dream of comes crashing down around me once again.
I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
Lost in Between: Shaw Mercer needs a girlfriend to distract the media from his playboy past and his siblings' idiosyncrasies while his father runs for office. He got more than he bargained for with Willow Blackwell.
Smart, beautiful, and guarded, Willow becomes Shea's temporary girlfriend. Though the contract is only for four months, chemistry and electricity between these two is palpable. And soon their biology overrules their logical thinking, and the inevitable happens.
Willow's past haunts her, and a plot twist at the end could throw a real wrench in a potential HEA--- with a CLIFF HANGER!!!! Jeez Kreig- are you trying to kill us?! To be continued in May (phew).
Since this is a duet, the build-up of potential conflict was later in the book than usual. I was looking for it earlier, but trust me it's there. And when you get there, it's a doozy. I have several theories, but because Kreig enjoys drinking the tears of her readers alongside her morning coffee, I won't know the answers until May. I am not a patient person. May. Ahhh.
I saw others post "Really? May?" and laughed and thought, "They're exaggerating," until I, myself, reached this point. Kreig brings her slow cooker into a feverish boil and then yanks the rug out from under you.
I have a very love/hate relationship with this right now. I LOVE the writing style, the slow build, the honest characters, the hot sex scenes, the alpha hero, the alternating POVs, and a million more things than Kreig brilliantly masters in her books. I hate the wait. Because she's so good that she knows I will wait. So until May I will just stand here tapping my foot... waiting... impatiently. (Now released, this is no longer applicable by still important.)
Found Underneath: Shaw and Willow *finally* get their conclusion. When Kreig is the author, you know they'll have to go through hell to get there, but she really pulled out all of the stops for this one. I yelled at both characters (and wanted to slap them sometimes). I cried. And at the end of the roller coaster of "holy shit remind me to stay on Kreig's good side because she is creative with the torture of her characters," I loved it.
Chemistry, heat, character development, and likable multi-dimensional secondary characters made the second half of this duet a winner. Though the ending hints that duet may become a trio, only time will tell whether Kreig will put her mighty pen to work writing Noah and Sierra's story or whether she will continue to sit on her throne as her readers beg for more, quietly continuing to drink their (our) tears with her morning joe. And we love her for it.
This had a great balance of sexyness, story, alpha male obsession and jealousy. Shaw was perfect, loved him. Although this was pretty predictable, it was a joy to read never the less. Shaw was everything a hot strong male hero should be, and Willow was no wilting flower. She matched Shaw till the end. I loved how they met and all the drama that unfolded. A bit on the long side for me, but that is just my impatience. Awesome author.
I’ve recently been on a Kreig binge read, devouring everything Alpha in her books quickly, but oMFG Shaw Mercer is the crème de la crème, the finest alpha of hers ive come across and i’m left in a state of need for more. Cocky Playboy Successful Demanding Dominating Dirty Talking Sizzling Hot yep all the above, is it any wonder Mercer hits my list of all time favourites.?! He is simply irresistible and pure heat!
Playboys who are cocky successful alphas are my weak spot, i love their confidence and attitude and i love nothing more when the right woman comes and completely she’s their world upside down and shows them everything they’ve been missing. willow is exactly that woman, she’s fierce, strong confident, just as seductive, fiery and her defiance only makes me love her more! A match made in heaven !
the chemistry and passion between him and Willow is intense and explosive!
The never settling down type needs a temporarily girlfriend and it just so happens his Bestie knows exact the right person! Willow is one hell of a heroine i admired! She’s broken. haunted by loss and her past. Keeps her secrets close to her chest but ever the professional so no one can play the part like she can . But from the get go. it’s inevitable these two will blur the lines. How can they not with that burning desire hanging in the air. How can they not when Shaw seems to know everything she doesn’t know she needs. How can they not when his whispering words in her ear and the use of her real name can bring her to her knees as quick? How can they determine what’s real and what’s fake when every encounter roots their connection deeper and feelings take over.
Good job i have the conclusion to dive right into because the cliffhanger i’ve just been left with has my stomach in knots….. I’m praying things aren’t going to come tumbling down when finally little by little Willow is giving freely piece by piece of her but can Shaw keep his promise?!
Book 2 takes us on a journey! Filled with everything from heat, humour twists and emotions it’s no wonder i devoured this in no time. I wanted nothing more for things to right between them. My heart broke at the same time for more than one reason! Loss, addiction, secrets and truths, feelings and love.
the bonus scene included in the box set is the best thing ever and i’ll openly admit it’s exactly something i craved within this story. it’s intense and seductive. The sexual tension is igniting and this quick erotic, raunchy bonus is something you need to savour in privacy 😍
Page after page I felt strong anticipation for what was to come. The story was detailed and intricate, many times repetitive, and on and on it went, crushing the angst and anticipation. Too many times it took away from the momentum rather than added. But it was still a good read of yet another strong dominant wrapped in their arrogance and I could care less attitude. I suppose that Shaw is a great catch, and his family knows this, but he’s too inwardly focused to care about the rest of us. In comes Willow who transforms his world. He turns out to be an amazing boyfriend, but he’s still a jackass to everyone else.
Wow! From chapter to chapter you are drawn in to this sizzling story. From beginning to end I find myself riveted to the inner workings of Willow and Shaw. Their relationship sparks up upon "accidental" meeting and grows hotter upon meeting. The emotions of both couple gets one wondering whether they'll make it through the betrayals and secrets. It's a book about defining self, discovering love, breaking walls, and the truth beyond what we thought we knew. Heartbreaking at times but relief is the HEA. Whoa Noah...hope he finds his.
What an Intense, fun and hot read. Willow was full of life and spunk, but her heart was heavy with the loss of her loved ones. Shaw was such a force. He found himself captivated by Willow, unable to see a future without her, he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her in his life. Fun read. A bit long and a little too much sexy time for me, but I loved this story.
It took me a while to get into the book, I think it was more me than the book but once I did it just grabbed me. The emotions flowed from the page like a total wave and made the characters so real it felt like the walked into my heart. I felt every bit of the want, the lust, the anxiety, the hope, the agony, the desire and eventually the joy the plagued the characters. The extra bonus scene was literally the hottest thing I've ever read.
Love this book. If your looking for romance, drama, suspense, lust and good sex this book is for you. I love Willow character of just being numb but wanting so much in life. Finally she find her someone (Shaw). This is a must read. Can’t wait to see if there is a book about Noah
Wow just wow .. oh this was good .. twist and turns. Oh drive by can drive by anyday. With a side of Noah. Wonder twins . Oh yeah. . love deceit all of it .. cant wait to read more by this author .
I recently came across this author and she is quickly becoming my new favorite. This duet did not disappoint! The bonus scene at the end was smoking hot! Shaw and Willow are amazing together! A must read!
OMG!!!! I could not put these books down. Absolutely love this author. Can't wait to read anything she has written. On to her next series of books. I'm not getting much sleep because I can't put the book down. (It's really my kindle. Lol).
This book was phenomenal. This book was the kind that pulled at your heart. And all I could say was what was next. I did a lot of crying but it was worth it. HAPPY READING EVERYONE.
I only gave it a 4 because sometimes it was difficult to follow conversation with all the datailing in between. But it's a lovely, beautiful and hot story
Really enjoyed these books. Definitely worth your time to read them. In fact, I couldn’t put them down. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
One car incident. One fake relationship. Politics, money, power and several twist and turns. Absolutely enjoyed Willow and Shaw story.
Box set included Lost In Between and Found Underneath. At the end we get a glimpse of the “dream” from Forbidden an New Years Eve Anthology no longer available for purchase. All I can say is steamy and hotness all in one.
