Charmaine would do anything to earn back her wings. But when she does, who will be there to save her humanity?
This fast-paced, action-packed, dystopian paranormal romance about a cursed world and a biblically entangled war between family loyalties and age-old love is ideal for fans of The Mortal Instruments and Supernatural.

A thrilling story of love, hope and redemption. I thoroughly enjoyed the different twists the story took. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The story was full of emotion. Charm’s character was strong and fierce she was definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Overall an exciting dystopian world where dark and light fight for the freewill of mankind.
This is the first book in the Watchtower Series that I have read & I absolutely loved it. This dystopian novel moves along quickly & keeps you intrigued until the end. Hope, Love, & redemption is intertwined throughout the narrative. The world building descriptiona are well detailed, along with well seasoned character's, & a captivating plot with many twists. I highly recommend reading this dystopian novel as it is just fantastic.
“Blood Promise” by Debra Kristi is the intended first instalment in the “Cursed Angel Blood Promise” series, which is set in her “Watchtower” verse. Sixty-seven previously the planet was devastated by a faulty spell that almost eradicated humanity, now demons rule the world, and the last vestiges of humanity left in the region that was formally known as New York and New Jersey, the place the fallen angel Charmeine (MC) calls home for the time being, until she earns back her wings. Now the chance has come by bringing the demon lord Xaphan to justice and imprisoning him forever, even if it means to work with his less than desirable witch sister. There is nothing Charmeine will stop at to earn her wings back, to finally have a chance at redemption. Or there is? Because redemption for Charmaine could easily mean eternal condemnation for humanity.
A fast-paced, captivating and easy-to-follow urban/dystopian fantasy, where the timeless battle between good and evil, is being rehearsed in an unusual way by the dichotomy angels/demons, showing that in the never-ending struggle for power, hope and redemption is just a range of grey shades, in which everyone can forge their own path
Wow what a read! This grabs you from the very start as we join Charm our fallen Angel in this ‘cursed’ world and join her on her journey to save it! It’s action packed, fast moving and full of betrayal, destruction, long lost love, friendship, hatred and had so many twists and turns I wasn’t sure I could keep up but I’m so glad i did! Witches, angels, fallen angels, demons and humans are all part of this post apocalyptic world and all play their part so well. Great storyline, great characters this is a must read.
I loved reading Charmeine and Malcom's story. Their struggle to save the world from the demonic curse and all the obstacles in the way made for an epic story. I loved how you got little glimpses of things from the past in this futuristic fallen world. I will admit that when I started reading I though Charmeine was a male, but soon realized my mistake. I really liked the face that even though the mission seemed hopeless they still kept pushing forward and tried to complete it anyway. This was a really great read and enjoyable the entire way through.
This was a great book and one that hooked you right from the beginning and kept you in the edge of your seat clear up past the end which made me want more of this author's books to read in the future. Thank you again Debra Kristi for suggesting I start reading this book first of your books. I can't wait to read more...
I am a fan of Debra Kristi's work she has a vast variety of characters she works with. I'd love to be inside of her head for a day lol. Anyways I really enjoyed this story it was very different in the fact it's a post-apocalyptic world but it is our world in the future. All the characters give it such a vast flavor that makes it very interesting.
Charm is a Fallen Angel who wants to get her heavenly status back so she goes above and beyond whatever the Father wantsof her. I really really loved her she has the sweetest gentlest spirit. She believes in everyone and gives them the benefit of the doubt. The curse that has plagued the world has shown no mercy on them.
She has a blast from the past show up and it might very well be a distraction from the mission she has been burdened with or it might be what fuels her fire.
I am loving this Watchtower Series, this is the fourth book from the set that I have read!!! I really enjoyed the story of hope, love and redemption that is weaved throughout the differet twist in this story. This is a wonderfully fast paced dystopian that keeps you engrossed till you are done reading. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
This is book one of the Cursed Angel series and the main character in this story is a fallen angel known as Charm (Charmeine), the angel of harmony, who is living amongst the humans in the ruins of what is left of New York and New Jersey, after a magick spell went drastically wrong nearly seven decades ago, devastating the planet. The remains of humanity now exist among demon ruled ruins and have to beg, steal or barter to get enough to eat each week. The oceans have been poisoned and the air is toxic. All crops and food supplies were exhausted long ago. Any tinned goods were hoarded and are rarely available unless you have lived as long as an angel. One of her brothers, Xaphan, lives in the fortress of glass of the last surviving skyscraper, which attracts souls in this post-apocalyptic world. He is also a fallen angel and has taken on the mantle of the demon lord, coming into power through the use of fear, discord, destruction and sin. She hasn’t seen him in decades even though he is a few hours walk away. Charm tries to help those in need whenever she can, giving away some of her food to those who need it more. When she is visited by another of her brothers, Jehudiel, who did not fall to temptation like her or Xaphan, he tells her that their Father has given her another chance to redeem herself! Only catch being that this task must be near on impossible to achieve! Apparently the world is under a draconian curse and their Father would like her to break it and to heal the world and its people. To undertake this task, she will have to work with a local witches coven and will need to find the very first angel spear their Father created, endowed with his fire and truth. When she has the spear of God’s fire, she must then capture her brother Xaphan and imprison him in the depths of Hell, putting an end to his torture and killing of the helpless humans. A young street urchin called Casper likes to get into Charm’s way and seek to help her with every task she undertakes and he is eager to help her with this one, however dangerous it might be. Xaphan is far too happy doing what he does, to ever want the curse to be lifted and Charm is too wrapped up in times of old, to realise just how much he desires all of this chaos and power. He is feeding from all of the emptions around him and even tries to pull from her, before throwing her out, when she lets her disgust become visible. The only kick in her accepting the task is that she is now without her own gift, the gift of harmony that she used in her little corner of the ruins helping those around her to work together and survive best they could. She is not the first to be sent to complete this task, much to her amazement when she meets the head witch Roisin Flannery at the site of the former Ellis Island. A man she saw at Xaphan’s tower will be an important part of her task. His looks remind her of Jordan, her Templar Knight, who had captured her heart in another lifetime. He is Malcolm, a warlock and close associate of Roisin, but also has the scars of her Jordan! A traitor in their midst ruined the first attempt, now she must face an old foe, who she thought once promised her everything she could ever wish for, but instead left her all alone for a millennium, out of favour with her Father. Charm has a seemingly insurmountable battle before her, with the odds ever against her, as she has to fight those humans opposed to demons and magic, as well as the demons and human diggers her wayward brother controls. She will be tested to the end of her tether and nothing will be easy. But then, when are the Father’s test ever easy. He picked her for this task millennium ago, before she was even Fallen, knowing her path and allowing her to fall, with the chance to come back to him or choose another path, yet again. Malcolm will play a large role in her decision, but Luna, Aradia and even Casper have a huge part to play as well. Human frailties and free will are put to the test and life becomes a struggle against the curse and the evil it brings to everything. A loaded task and a final outcome which may bring more in the future, for those who follow on behind them. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Love, hope, and mercy are noble, but will they be enough when facing the evil from hell? Charm is a fallen angel living in the cursed world of humans, ruled by her fallen demonic brother Xaphan with fear and terror. The curse brings out the worst in people - violence, distrust, malice, envy, greed.. When Charm accepts the quest to end the curse, her presence loses its calming presence, and immediately she is being the most hunted one thanks to a price on her head. Only belief in her Heavenly Father and trust for witch coven can help her save the day, but would it be enough? Dark atmosphere with rays of hope and love, this story of fallen angels and bound human souls, of witchcraft and God, paints an interesting yet cutting image of human weaknesses and the evil hidden in the nature of humankind. Showing off different strengths and different perspectives, it makes one think what would we do should we live in such environment, affected by the curse. Who would be strong enough to resist? Where would it lead? And how strong is the basis in us already - without a solid ground, such curse won't be effective? I struggled sometimes to find my way to Charm, though in the end, she had to be an angelic creature, not a human, and her thinking and attitude had to be taken as such. Yet sometimes I thought if she couldn't use her gifts and abilities differently.. On the other side, I strongly believed in Casper, and even more in Malcolm. The latter was the beacon of light for me more than Charm, and together they were perfect and unbeatable. I somehow lacked more of a reaction upon revealing the secrets and truths about the blood promise, Malcolm's reaction was more like nonextistent to me, but under the circumstances I may accept this :) With lots of drama, tension, and action, this was a very good read.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I have never read a book in record time, once I started, I couldn’t stop. This was the most intense story with so many unforeseen twists and turns until the end. It is even the very first time ever that a book gave me chills down my spine.
I was immediately pulled into an apocalyptic world setting , were demons’ rule over the humans. Charmeine is a fallen Angel, who fell from grace, just like her brother Xaphan. Her brother embraced his demon nature but Charmeine , the angel of Harmony, she still wants to cling onto her Angel status.
When an opportunity comes to redeem herself by killing her brother Xaphan, her world falls to shambles and nothing is going according to plan. Everyone has a turn on Charmeine, but she gets a fortunate or unfortunate ally with witches? And who is Malcolm, why does he look familiar?
The story is fast paced and full of action, violence, sparks of desire, friendship, betrayal, and destiny. The world building is amazing, and you feel the apocalyptic mood setting throughout Charmeine’s journey. If I could give these 6 stars I would. What more amazing is , that apocalyptic world settings are not really my thing, but I stepped into this revelation open minded. And it didn’t disappoint at all.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from Booksprout for giving my two cents. We meet Charm, a Fallen angel living in what was NYC before the world went to hell. She survives and tries to help those around her, she is after all thr Angel of Harmony. One evening she gets a visitor in her place...her brother Jed, who says their Father has a task for her and a way to get get wings back. Charms wings were ripped from her by Xanphans minions....great..an evil brother who has ruled the area with an iron fist. The task...not easy by any means, is to seek out witches to get the God's Fire weapon and kill their brother...riiiiggghhtt! Charm decided to pay her big brother a visit only to see the destruction he brings and the enjoyment he gets from torturing others. She pleads with him to stop but he only laughs at her. To make matters worse, she sees a man who is the spitten image of her once love...but that can't be right. Will Charm work with the witches? Will she get past the hurt and blame from the last 70 years? Betrayal, secrets, drama make this dystopian novel a must read.
I was blown away with this book in the Watchtower series! Charmeine is a fallen angel who only wants to redeem herself and get her wings back. Her brother, Xaphan, also a fallen angel, the demon lord, who lives on the dark side ruling through fear and violence. When Charm is given a second change to redeem herself, she accepts the challenge. The problem is that it involves getting rid of her evil brother and save the world from the horrible curse. Trying to reason with her evil brother just didn't work .And she needs to enlist the help of witches. But in her way comes Malcolm so familiar to the human she fell in love with...the cause of her fall from grace. And we have a great character in the spunky Casper! The author treats us to edge of your seat thrills that you just can't s top reading until the end where you are treated to a surprise. I didn't see it coming! A must read. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Charmeine “Charm” was the Angel of Harmony until her fall from grace. Now she has an apartment in what is left of New York after the spell that unleashed demons onto the earth and cursed the world and everything in it. Life is hard for humanity and would be worse for her too if she did not still have a few remaining angel powers. Her brother Xaphan is also one of the fallen, but where Charm has a soft spot in her heart for humanity, Xaphan is a demon lord in the post-apocalyptic world and thrives on suffering. As long as Xaphan lives the curse cannot be broken.
Debra Kristi has pulled out all the stops. This book is action-packed and grabbed by attention from the first page! I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary. This is the first book I have read in this series but now I am hooked and it definitely won’t be the last.
Charmeine, the fallen angel of harmony, has been tasked with saving human kind from a curse. She fell for a human millennia ago and so fell from grace. Her mission is to end the curse that brought demons to earth and put her brother, the demon lord, in a cell in Hell for eternity. If she can do it, she will get her wings back and be brought back home. Little does she know that the man she fell for is placed in her path again. She must make a choice between him and her Father all over again. I can't say enough good things about this book. I highly recommend reading it.

Charmaine (Charm) has been living among humans since she fell, and humanity is going down hill, money is no longer the term of currency and they are back to bartering. Although all is not lost, for Charm has been given a mission to break the human misery. Can she save the world? Or will the demons keep their rule over humanity? I loved this crumpling humanity story, with it's hope for a better future, the determination of Charm (and her strength against all the odds), and the bit of romance twined through her tale.

Charm, short for Charmeine, is a fallen angel with no wings. Her fallen brother Xaphan was the reason. Charm fell because she loved a human man. Xaphan is also the reason for the devastation of the planet. When her brother Jehudiel came, he offered Charm a solution. She could choose to go back home if she wanted. All she had to do was work with a coven of witches and kill her brother Xaphan. This book, in a way, seems to be based on the Book of Revelations. It is filled with woe and hardships with no regard for any type of life. In the end, it is love that wins. Highly recommended.

Exciting Series “Blood Promise” is a slow-paced intense tale of angels, demons, fallen angels, and witches along with humans, in a post-apocalyptic world that will have you questioning the future. The relationship between Charmeine and Malcolm while intense is the foundation that drives this tale. I loved reading “Blood Promise”. It has a way of bringing out deep emotions. My book club will be reading this for our next meeting. I highly recommend reading this tale. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
This is a great story, which tells of a fallen angel and her very fallen brother. Because of him there is a curse on the land, which is getting worse and worse. Charmeine wants to be back in heaven with her father - God. She is tasked to bring her brother down and send him to Hell. It is the only way to end the curse. Meanwhile, she meets Malcolm, who is the very embodiment of her Jordan, the human she fell in love with and the reason she was one of the fallen. The choices she will have to make will surprise even her.
This was my first book by this Author and I was drawn in. You could feel the emotions leap off the pages as you read this book. Be prepared for being on the edge of your seat and just when you think you know what’s going to happen next.....your wrong! This was a great read and the afternoon flew by as I got engrossed in this story about redemption, love, hope and a chance at a new beginning. I cannot wait to dive further into this series.

Blood Promise may be a departure from the author's usual books, but it is definitely not a disappointment! It's dark, gritty, action packed, full of twists and mystery. I couldn't turn pages fast enough. Charmeine is a strong female character with one big weakness. Will she overcome betrayal, the dark forces of her brother and regain her wings? The climatic decision she makes knocked me for a loop! I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Charm is a fallen angel and given the task to kill her brother another fallen angel who has gone evil. The world has been destroyed and she must depend on witches to help her with her task. There are a few glitches and some wild rides while she tries to complete her task. My favourite character is Casper, he is a young boy with lots of spunk. This was an excellent book to read with lots of action. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to all. Loved the ending!

I love angel versus demon stories the battle of light against dark, I bought this book in January 2019 and I’m only reading it now so that’s shame on me it’s a brilliant story action packed it centres around apocalyptic New York where there are only a few humans left when the curse destroyed the world and the fallen angel Charmaine ( Charm) who wants to earn her wings back she is going to try and save the world and she needs to work with a deplorable witch. I loved this story and the characters and what a brilliant imagination this author has and I definitely recommend this book.
This is a story that will pull you in right away. A spell goes wrong And the world is destroyed. It lands on fallen Angel Charmaine to help save what she can. This brings her and Malcolm together to try to work a way to find answers. This was a wonderful storyline and the characters were perfect aS they pull you in. You get glimpses into the past as they work together for the future. I can’t wait for the next book!

So lets give you an idea of what youre in for...supernatural without the winchesters. angels and demons battle with a fallen angel, Charm as the MC. Im not big on angels but it also has witches! and I love witches. and the idea of a fallen angel was a nice twist. and while theres a battle going on to break a curse over the world Charm is battling a war within herself. love or getting her wings back?
Blood Promise follows Charmeine's journey as a fallen Angel. This story has action, suspense, friendship, love and magic! It is set in an apocolyptic type world in which the author describes descriptively so it is easy to visualize. The characters are in depth and I quickly became invested in them. The story captivated me from start to finish and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to more by this author
Wow, what a great read. The author weaves a great storyline, that keeps you entertained all the way through, with some great twists along the way. Even the dynamics between the characters are great. This is an original storyline about fallen angels and how the world was affected. So if you enjoy Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance then this book is definitely worth reading. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will definitely be adding her to my authors to read list.
Set in a massive post-apocalyptic world, readers will be introduced to Charmeine, a fallen Angel trying to save the world and get her wings back. Charm has discovered how to do both, but she has to work with someone who she can't stand (or can she??) and condemn her brother, so it isn't as easy as she would like. I loved the characters, the action, and the whole world Debra Kristi has created. I'm definitely excited for more from these characters and what's in store for them next!
A fallen angel who wants to save the world. An ancient lover returning to help. A twisted brother who wants to destroy everything. These are a few of the obstacles Charmeine faces. This story is not about redemption so much as it is about perseverance and overcoming obstacles. A timely piece with a timeless message.
