This book really shows the challenges faced in early settlement times of South Australia. It also made me reflect on the personal tragedies that were all too commonly faced in those days and the strength of character that Polly had to face her tragedies and still hold a family together.

Fascinating to look at the early days of my hometown though the eyes of fiction. It was very well researched.
