Witches of Crystal Cove #18

Murder Most Despicable

Rate this book
Two years without a murder in Crystal Cove, it seemed almost too good to be true.

When the journalist, Jennifer Snapps is arrested by Anthony after a dead body is found on her property, she calls upon Jane Summers to prove she’s innocent. Conflicted by taking the case but realizing that she might be her only hope, she reluctantly accepts.
But when Jane follows the clues, investigates the suspects and uncovers more questions than answers, she makes a startling discovery that Jennifer might be withholding the truth.

Throw into the mix her sisters opening a new B&B, a newcomer to the town, a shocking and unexpected visitor, and Jane might have her work cut out for her.

Join secret witch and cafe store owner, Jane Summers and her sisters in the mysterious town of Crystal Cove. Every book contains great characters, lots of magic and an intriguing mystery. Murder Most Despicable can be read as a standalone mystery, however, to discover more about the Summers family, it's recommended that you start at book 1: Murder Most Horrid.

Confused

I think there’s a missing book between this one and the last book... In the last book, no one besides Max and Janes family knew she was a witch and obviously the other witches. Yet in this book Anthony and the employees at the cafe know about it. There was no explanation. I also didn’t like how the story was 2 years later. Just seemed odd, like this story was rushed.

Great series

The plots are always good with this series, but I highly recommend you read them in order. They move pretty fast and it is easy to get lost. This book ends with an unexpected bang. Can’t wait to see how the series continues!

Enjoyable storylines

I like that Emma Watts uses the same characters and some of the same plot lines but doesn't overdue a plot line. Her sisters always fighting, her mother being evil, her dad being the dad, she mixes things up.

Life flows on in Crystal Cove. Agatha and Lizzy are without their men and start a business together. The Witches Council goes through some changes. And Janes mother is back in town!

Witches of Crystal Cove

Every story has a different murder. Jane has to figure out with Max who the murderer was. Keeps my attention to the last page
