I am the world's worst procrastinator. I used to worry about having things done on time and did them far in advance so that I wouldn't have to worry about whatever might go wrong actually going wrong. But as I have gotten older, I have gotten to the point where I don't care as much and know I am capable of making things work. So I have learned to procrastinate and then fly by the seat of my pants to get things done. And honestly, only once or twice has it really been a bad thing. But it DOES cause a lot of undue stress and leaves me frantic when trying to get things knocked out. (Case in point - today. My son had a birthday party here at our home. I woke up at 6:30 thinking it was too early and I wanted to sleep longer, but my brain knew all the things I had to do, so I couldn't sleep. I had to get up and get started. I baked cupcakes, ran to the store to buy supplies, ice, etc. Came home, made the icing and decorated the cupcakes, mixed the kool-aid in the 5 gallon jug and put it out with cups, decorated the yard, picked up dog poop and sprayed down the backyard to clean it up, dug out pool toys and tossed them in the pool, cleaned the kitchen, swept and mopped the floors, then got the baby dressed and ready as people began coming in. I was EXHAUSTED.)

I NEEDED a book like this. This is my typical routine when something is going on. It is always go go go and rush to get things done. I have picked up procrastination books in the past, but guess what? I haven't read them! I kept putting it off. Seems to be a problem, huh? I decided to finally take the time to read this one, though. I figured George Pain writes fairly short books and gives some decent information. I could get through this one fast and possibly pick up some pointers.

As with his other books, it was indeed short. It was a good introduction to the topic. I had no trouble identifying procrastination in my life, but was glad to see he points out some of the things people might be doing without realizing they are truly dealing with procrastination problems. The information is good, and it shows you some great ways to start overcoming your procrastinating habits, but it needs more detail that can help you better understand the topic and how it works in your own life.

The writing style is good. He speaks with knowledge of the subject and explains it easily for readers. The book was well written without the mistakes in grammar, spelling, and punctuation that I often see in other books any more. His was relatively free of errors and did not distract me in the least. I do wonder sometimes if perhaps he is not a native English speaker because of the word choice or grammatical structure, but it is easy to understand and has good information to help anyone truly wanting to change and learn more.

This is a very short book, but one with good information that can help people understand procrastination, why it is important to make changes, and how to improve their own problems. I think there is value in this book and whoever reads it will find new information to help them learn more.
