They say that when it’s your time to die, you are judged in the afterlife. If you’ve lived a good life, you go to Heaven. But if you sinned, well, then you go to Hell, and when you get there, you’re sent to the circle most fitting of your behavior. Well, they’re half right. For in the Black City, pain is currency, and punishment is the law. But what did I do to deserve this? Oh, that’s right, I was born. For as long as most of us can remember, Heaven and Hell have been at war, angels against demons. But what happens when you’re the offspring of a cursed union between the two? What happens when you’re constantly torn between the two worlds, and you have no idea what to do about it? Well, that’s where I come in. My name is Luke, and I am a Nephilim. And my story is not a happy one. No, in fact, it’s a painful, treacherous, and dismal tale. And if you continue on, you will understand the atrocity that truly is my life.
Great book. It has an interesting plot with some nice character development. The voice remains strong and consistent. The over all journey is fun and there isn't a point of being left behind. The story does not leave the reader feeling cut short either.
