Anant Pai popularly known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and creator of Indian comics, in particular the Amar Chitra Katha series in 1967, along with the India Book House publishers, and which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies of historical characters. In 1980, he launched Tinkle, a children's anthology, which was started under Rang Rekha Features, India's first comic and cartoon syndicate, that lasted till 1998, with him as the Managing Director.

Today, Amar Chitra Katha sells about three million comic books a year, in English and more than 20 Indian languages, and has sold about 100 million copies since it inception in 1967 by Anant Pai, and in 2007 was taken over by ACK Media.

Tinkle is timeless. I'm reading this after 10 years and it's still good. It was fun reading a collection of short stories. The characters are funny and the tales are witty- my all-time favorites being Suppandi, Shikari Shambhu, Naseruddin Hodja, Tantri Mantri

Brings back memories- all the favourite characters- from Doob Doob to Suppandi to Shambu! Always loved the work of VB Hable and Waaerkar!

Beacon of values for people of all ages!!

Tinkle is evergreen..i am 27yrs old and still read all the material from Amar Chitra Katha.It was a part of my growing years and will continue to do so for me as well as future generations as well.

Nice short stories. Should be good to read to children.

Good collection of short stories sent in by many readers. Good to read to children. I used love reading Tinkle comics as a child.

Good collection of stories and pictures for the young and young at heart. To add spice here are some useful articles too.
