Rae Stanton After getting burnt by my ex, I’ve decided it’s safer not to get involved with a man. As a rule, I don’t date. Spending one night with the gorgeous Cole Mardsen is as far as I’m willing to go, that is, until he has me wanting to break all my rules for him.
Cole Mardsen I saw her as soon as she walked into the bar, looking beautiful and elegant, and I was immediately drawn to her. But Rae resists me at every turn. She’s about to find out how determined I can be when I want something - and I definitely want her. And not just for one night.
Rae is a stand-alone romance novella with a guaranteed HEA.
E.R. Wade is a hopeless romantic and has always loved to read and write. She believes in true love and happy endings, and would do literally anything (well, almost anything) for a good book. She loves emotional and sexy contemporary romance novels featuring strong, sexy men and independent women. She loves visiting new places, and is slightly obsessed with Henry Cavill and Manchester United F.C. Stay With Me is her debut novel. Look out for her next novel, Lie With Me (Addison and Sean’s story). "Rae was a quick novella about a woman trying to still find herself after a bad divorce. When she has a one night stand with Cole it doesn't exactly go as she thinks it will. He brings out something in her that she keeps trying to deny. It was a good novella, but it was lacking in plot. Just seemed like he kept chasing after her and she kept pushing him away. "
Rae is a strong black woman that allow her past hurt affect her future. Cole comes into her life and she starts to question her feelings towards him. The outcome is even better.
The writer has potential but this book is lacking. There is no suspense and no plot. It is Cole pursuing and winning the heart of Rae, his one-night stand-object of instant love-love at first sight woman. Rae, who is black and 5 yrs older than Cole who is white, is 3 yrs divorced from a cheater, has trust issues, and does date or commit. Cole is all about commitment.
The author never dives in the race and slight age differences, doesn't peel back Rae's emotional layers in a way that shows her growth as a person, and doesn't use the unexpected appearance of Rae's ex-husband to create a dramatic plot twist. The author does not make use of the secondary characters to add to the story,This book fell flat and everything was dealt with superficially. As a result, I didn't care about Rae or Cole.
This is my first story by this author. I loved this story so much that I immediately read all the other books that the author currently has published. The other stories are not interracial but I enjoyed them all the same! As soon as she puts out her other books I will be reading those too. This is how much this author grabbed my attention.
I would like to recommend this story as a great read. Its a BW/WM story. Cole breaks down Rae's barriers one by one with love and absolutely patience because trust me she would test the patience of a saint. Beautiful love story. Out of all the stories by this author I love this one the best.
This is Cole and Rae's story, a couple who meet in a bar by chance. Cole is immediately smitten with Rae and instantly sees his future with her. Rae is intrigued but wants one night only and just sex. As expected one night turns into several nights turns into a relationship. Throughout the book, Rae has one issue after another with the relationship. She had so many hang ups it got off putting. I could have done with less of that and more of the couple getting to know each other, their families, etc.
Cole meets Rae at a local watering hole. She's waiting for a friend when Cole sidles up to the bar to order a drink and make conversation with her. They talk and he wants to take her out and she just wants him to tuck her in. Normally, not a one and done guy, he accepts her invitation and it's the start of an uphill battle to convince Rae to give him a chance. Cole had his work cut out for him, but he handled her eccentricities and foibles beautifully.
The book was good. Good is well, obviously good. But it wasn’t great. I likely won’t remember it and won’t be reading the second installment. The characters were very predictable and two dimensional in my opinion. I think this author could be great if she let go of what she thinks a story should be.
A sweet little novella about instant attraction and betrayal. It was an enjoyable read and i loved the characters, even if they moved a little fast. Rae is a woman you love but want to shake her to get some sense into her with her doubts, but once youve been burnt, its hard to get over. Cole....Cole is a man that you want to be loved by. Hot is his middle name.
A quick read. All surface. There is really no depth to either characters. By the time you're half done with the book you know just about everything there is to know about them.
A lot of drama brought on by Rae, but she had to shift through that shat on her own I guess.
This book was recommended to me by a friend and I took a chance to read it. I really liked it. I read it in one sitting but the pace was really good. I also enjoyed the journey Rae had to make. This was really good.
This was a story that moved at such a pace that you are never getting a dull moment. However there are a few times that you want the writer to give you look into this relationship.I woul
This is a sweet novella about a woman that had been burned from a previously relationship just surviving in life; and a man that willingly battles her demons and painstakingly tears down her walls brick by brick.
This book was good. Once Rae let go of her emotional fear and fully let Cole in, she found a love like she never knew. Before then, she let her past determine her dating life.
From the beginning I was hooked the story line was good and I definitely wanted more. It ended to fast please I need more I wouldn't mind a follow up I'm moving on to the second installment Ana's story now...
