3 1/2 Stars. This book had good reviews on Amazon so I decided to give it a try. It’s free on Kindle Unlimited. Well I’ll just say it was a pretty crazy book. I’m not even a 100% sure that I even liked it. But it did hook me in and forced me to keep reading. If the sequel comes out soon I will probably give it a go just to see what happens.
This is YA/NA that spans a few years in the main character Callie’s life. Most of the time takes place in her senior year and first year of college. Callie is not your normal 18 year old girl; she hears voices and sees visions of the past and future. The older she gets the stronger her powers. Callie soon has to decide if fate is something you should mess around with or leave alone.
The biggest issue I had is the main character is pretty awful. She is awful to just about everyone and her action have major consequences. I honestly almost stopped reading this thinking I don’t like reading books when I hate the main. But Callie actually grew in this book. She started to grow on me and I was surprised the author was able to make that big change work so well.
I would not call this a romance. Callie sleeps with different women but there is one girl who she really loves. But with everything Callie goes through and her powers, Callie wonders if the woman she loves would be better off without her. So there are relationships but I would not put this book in the romance category.
When it came to Callie’s powers that part of the book is a little convoluted. We still don’t understand as much as I hoped to by the end of the book. This is one of the reasons I would read the second book to have all the questions answered.
This book is a little out there, and a little dark in parts, but something about it was addictive. I was entertained and I appreciate how the main character grew. Fingers crossed book 2 will be even better.

I'm still not sure what to make of this book! I started off thinking I might not even finish it because I found the relationships toxic and the characters malicious & nasty, with very few redeeming qualities. As I progressed through it was a bit like watching a train crash- I couldn't quite bring myself to stop! I'm glad I persevered as the plot became more apparent - it ended up being a reasonable read!

I almost put the book down when I started reading it because of Callie's bad attitude and treatment to those closest to her... especially to Jenny. I read Lex Kent's review though and decided to give it a chance and luckily I did. Talk about a character arc. Callie does a one eighty and it's awesome. I loved all of the characters, even the bad guys where I felt sorry for one of'em. Jenny and Danielle are by far my favourite characters though... next to Callie, of course.

Over looking some technical flaws
The story was tooooo good to let some technical flaws keep it from five stars. An example: when taking about some one having to revenge for Natalie. It should have been avenged not revenged. Like I said minor technical flaws. There were several. A good editor could help, but the plot and character development made up for those small errors.

This book is really hard to review because it has a good story with big problems. I started out hating the main character and loved how she grew and really learned from to be kinder.
At times it goes in all directions or repeats itself. There were some obvious mistakes that annoyed me.
The characters stayed with me when I closed the book and that is definitely a good sign.

I actually got this book for free on Amazon and it took me a while to read it as I have been reading it on my phone rather than my e-book reader or computer.
It is a bit slow in places but is a real good story and comes to a satisfying ending. 4½ stars rounded up to 5

The story follows Callie, a closeted gay teenager, just starting to come to terms with her psychic abilities at a time when her sexuality is both confusing and burgeoning.
To begin with, Callie isn’t especially likeable. She picks on the best friend who idolises her, flirts pretty aggressively with a new and married teacher, and creates havoc and mayhem wherever she goes.
But, after an ill-advised affair and a fairly painless coming out, Callie combines an anonymous note with a wronged husband’s PTSD, with disastrous results. However, as she grows in her gifts and finds something more real than mere obsession, Callie becomes a multifaceted character, and the story is satisfying.
It’s always a bit tricky reading a lesbian story by a non-lesbian. Maybe it’s just me, but these works often feel (a) exploitative and voyeuristic, or (b) like somebody borrowed a book about lesbians from the library and decided to be a bit edgy and write something themselves. Luckily, this book isn’t like that.
The love scenes fade to black, there’s no clunky quasi-scientific anatomical language, and it feels like the characters have appeared organically to the author.
The editing, however, needs work. The spelling of various character’s names changes, sometimes going back and forth within a single page. There are a fair few missing, and extraneous, apostrophes, and typos such as ‘breath’ for ‘breathe’, ‘desert’ for ‘dessert’, ‘conscious’ for ‘conscience’ and ‘starring’ for ‘staring’. If you can get past all that, it’s a worthwhile read with complex and interesting characters.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, it does have an engaging plot and nice development for the main character. On the other, annoying character tropes and writing nuances that wore down my patience.
First, all the women are beautiful. Really attractive. Strikingly beautiful. I know that because a good one hundred pages could be dropped from the book if no one commented on it. I've nothing against attractive characters, but really? Eventually it just gets irritating to read it and less believable with each mention.
Secondly, all the characters are portrayed with the same relevance as the main character. It doesn't matter if they're only part of the story for ten pages, those ten pages are going to include a scene or two walking around in their head and learning about the nuances of their psyche and motivations. Sure, it's interesting, but the book is over 600 pages and there are a LOT of characters. By the time the writer comes back to the main character, I've forgotten why I cared. Also, it's really confusing to change the POV character mid scene. Let's just stay in one persons' head at a time, please.
As I said, however, I do like the story and want to know how it wraps up. I can be picky about certain writing techniques, but that's not to say others will have the same response.

Love can change you
I really enjoyed this book. At first I was so upset with the main character but I am really glad she got her self together and the reason she did so. I kept finding places to hide so I could finish and read this. Great read

What an amazing trilogy
Wow where to start? Great characters, amazing plot, interesting world. The characters, especially Callie experience a lot of growth over these three books and it's an amazing journey.

great story, but …
I loved Callie, Jenny, a lot of good ideas, and the story … but I didn’t like being distracted by a couple thousand grammar mistakes, weird punctuation, and wrong word choices. An editor could have helped the author with that.

Best Book Ever!
I would recommend this book to anyone who has one iota of an imagination. The characters were intriguing to say the least. I would have liked to see more interaction between Callie and Bess, but maybe next time. There will be a next time, right?

Good story!

Wow, a different sort, but very enjoyable. Callie is acerbic and does not know what to make of her realist dreams. This book is a journey into under standing power. Callie is coming of age and coming out not only as lesbian but also a powerful seer... You will have to read the book and the follow up to understand that this book is about choices and consequences, the facts we have to live with that relate to our choices. I recommend this book.
