Married life is everything Bull and Red could have hoped for. It’s not something they’d ever take for granted and the need to pay it forward is a trait the husbands happily share. When the new director of the Bennett House asks Red to teach an art class, he isn’t entirely sure how it will help, but he’s more than willing to try. Before Bull, he used his art to purge his demons and sharing that with those in need of an outlet for their own pain was a gift he never considered giving. Each week he is rocked by the artful outpouring of emotion and the gratitude of his students. One by one, they burrow into his heart…but none more so than Dillon Young.

Always holding himself apart from the others, the wisp of a boy keeps his head down and hides behind a mangy, overgrown length of dark hair like a shield. Despite his best attempts not to see himself in all the young men that come through the center, everything about Dillon calls out to Red. Needing to share their encounters, and maybe hoping for a little perspective, he turns to the one man he knows he can always count on. Expecting Bull to be the voice of reason had been a fool’s mission from the start and soon they’re both invested in helping Dillon.

There’s no doubt they have an abundance of love to share and if ever there was someone who needed it, Dillon was the one. Between Bull’s strength and Red’s patience, they’ll help Dillon learn to trust again, and in the process, create a family that none of them intended. Though they never envisioned themselves as parents, Bull and Red will find room in their happily ever after to save the child they didn’t know lived in their hearts.

Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I'd begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it's a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and counting, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books.

It was a sweet ride, with us getting a chance to meet Bull and Red face to face yet again for most probably the last time. Dillon’s story pulled at my heartstrings, and I am so glad he found his safe, happy place in the Connor family.

And now I can’t wait to read “the fishing lawyers’s” story. ;-)

Another catch up with the Sizzling Miami boys, this one sees Red and Bull pulled in to the drama of a 16-year-old who reminds them so much of a younger Ian it's scary.

But, because this is the Connors, there's far more than just interest and the whole gang is involved in finding out just what has Dillon Young so scared he hides behind his hair and disappears for days on end.

As this is a novella, there's not much room for development but as Jessie G is an expert at this type of snippet, everything you'd need to get deeply involved in the lives of Red and Bull once again is laid out perfectly in this story and you're fighting alongside them as they slowly build up Dillon's trust.

We also see Rupert, the lawyer from Ty & Chase's last update (which I still need to read) and I've missed something somewhere because there's a reference to Bella in this one which threw me as I didn't know what it meant.
But neither is enough to distract from what is, at the heart of it, Red and Bull expanded their family once again to give hope and a home to a scared teenager.

Everyone loves a feel good story and this was one for me. Red meets a kindred spirt in Dillon, the young teenager who was clearly a victim of abuse and violence. As he tried to reach out he realized Dillon was continuing to back away. This broke Reds heart as he saw himself in this young teen. Of course Bull steps in to support Red and they work on building a relationship with Dillon based on love and trust. Bull is brilliant and not only reinforces his love for Red he also proves he can be a softie ! As always, the wider Conner / Mason family steps in to help and Dillon realizes he might actually end up safe. Dillons love for his Nan was a beautiful connection and over time all these gruff men and their families feel the same ! This was really sweet ❤️

Our Reason is the eight book in Jessie G’s Sizzling Miami series and the third book focused on Bull and Ian, following For a Reason and Their Reason. I have really enjoyed this series, and this couple in particular. While the series is very ensemble driven, Bull and Ian have always felt like a cornerstone to the group. Bull, in particular, sort of helps lead this found family and is a steady presence in all their lives. Bull and Ian have always been so deeply committed and are each other’s number one priority. So one of the interesting dynamics here is whether they want to open up their lives to someone else, and what the implications of that is for their relationship. I think Jessie G does a nice job giving us this consistency in their relationship, but also showing them growing and expanding as they consider whether they can bring Dillon into their lives.

I’m going to start my review with a tiny confession. My opinion of this book, and my review of it, will not be unbiased. Red and Bull are my favorite couple. Every time I even read the word Red my heart breaks all over again. I have read For a Reason (FaR) 7 times. I will probably read it 7 more times (realistically probably more than that). In fact, when I first read FaR I had never heard of Jessie G…but you can rest assured I reached out to her after I read it.

If you haven’t read FaR and Their Reason, you need to read those books first. And while you’re at it just read all her books because you really won’t be sorry. But more than that, if you’re like me you’ll want to know who all the characters are and want their stories before meeting them in this book.

I knew I would love this book…what I didn’t know was how much I would feel while reading it. In fact, there is a little bit of water in my eyes as I write this. Red’s story is one of the most devastating I’ve read. Dillion’s wasn’t much better and between the two of them, I had a hard time reading part of this book because I couldn’t see the pages. This book couldn’t be anything but amazing because if it wasn’t the Red and Bull army would be in an uproar (myself included). Jessie delivered the perfect story…again. And the best part? We’ll probably see more of them in the future…in the other stories in this series and her other series.

As always, the entire ‘Connor clan’ is involved in this story and we get to hear from quite a few of them. We meet a couple of new characters including Dillion’s grandmother who is a ba$$ in her own right and Rupert, the fishing attorney, who I know we’ll see again. As always, the Queen of Tease leaves us with a huge hint for what he’ll be up to in the near future.

I’m going to go finish crying in the corner while I read For a Reason…again.

Red and Bull’s story, For A Reason, is a story I will always cherish as a comfort read I’ve returned to time and again. They are one of the best romance couples I’ve ever read and I’m not the only one who thinks that way. Once they married, I thought that would be the last story they starred in, but fortunately Jessie caved to fans entreaties. Red/Ian sees himself in Dillon, who he meets at Davin’s youth center, even though their actual experiences differed. But the impact for both is similar and Red wants Dillon to have the safety and belonging that Bull/Jon gave to him.

Getting Dillon to accept and understand the chance he has is the hard part and makes this book as touching and heartwarming as only Jessie can make it. Not sugar-coated or sappy, but real and raw, yet buffered by the huge Connor clan that’s built up over the course of the series. Rupert the lawyer must have a story coming, I hope! He was a great character and there’s some info I still need from Alabama. Nonetheless there is a HEA for Dillon and his Nan. I always recommend Jessie G!

Ok so confession: I haven’t read this series or any other books from this author. With that being said, even though I don’t have the back story on Red and Bull I simply couldn’t love them more. I absolutely adored these characters and I most definitely now need to go back to the beginning and read this series from the start.

I love how this author gave Dillon a voice and we got to get inside this sixteen year old’s head and know his thoughts and emotions. Jessie G did a great job expressing and portraying the vulnerability and fears from not just Dillon but Red and Bull as well. This was sad and heartbreaking yet beautiful and touching.

This is a great story line and a bunch of great characters. I love the family dynamic and support system they all show for each other. Definitely a series I have to go back and invest some time into and a new-to-me author to keep on my radar.

This is the third catch up with Red and Bull and the eighth book in the Sizzling Miami series. Not a standalone read.

Now that Bull and Red are firmly established in their marital bliss, Red has become more confident in his own skin. Seeking to support Bennett House by delivering an art class to the students, he comes across the one boy who stands out from all the others and one he finds an instant affinity with – Dillon.

The story then evolves how Bull and the family of friends along with Red seek to help and guide Dillon to a safer place and offer him a new start in life and a new place of home.

It was lovely to catch up with Bull and Red again and the other guys. I didn’t think there was much more that could be added to Bull and Red’s story but this was a lovely touch and a new someone for them to love and support.

A nice touching story full of warmth, redemption and love. Four stars.

5 so sad it's over stars!!!

Another amazing addition to this already wonderful series of books! Red and Bull are one of my all time favourite couples and I was beyond excited when I found out they would get another chapter in their beautiful relationship. Ian and Jon are so perfect and breath taking together and have so much love to give that it only makes sense that they would open their home and their hearts to someone who truly needs it. Dillon makes a wonderful addition to the ever growing Connor family and I can't wait to see how he progresses and comes into his own throughout the rest of this series.
I hope Jessie never gets tired of writing about this incredible group of guys.I know I'll never get tired of reading about them.

My Review ~

Our Reason is part of the Sizzling Miami series and is the 3rd book featuring Bull and Red's story. I do not recommend reading this as a standalone. The series needs to be read in order for the full impact of the storyline. Plus these books are just so worth the read, you'll get sucked in and want to do a start to finish binge of the series.

This book continues the progression of Bull and Red's story from the original starting the romance, and the second book featuring their wedding. Our Reason finds them wanting to help a young man that Red has met through Bennett House. He sees so much of himself in young Dillon, that Red is almost compelled to try and make his life better. He's also afraid that Dillon is heading down the same path of depression, fear, and helplessness that Red himself faced before he met Bull. Of course he shares all this with his husband, Bull, and he's also on board with trying to help Dillon.

This is a novella but there is no lack of impact, even though it's the continuation of an established couple. The story is complete from start to finish and sucks you in from the first page with Red's earnest need to help Dillon. The author didn't hold back on any of the emotions or feelings even though it's only about a 100 pages long. Adding Dillon into the story line was a great way for Red and Bull to expand their family the way that is best for them. And Dillon fits right into the whole group once he realizes that he's safe and will be protected and cared for as a family member.

I kind of loved the dance of emotions between Red and Dillon. Both so needed the other person in their lives but they were both terrified in their own way of opening those walls they'd built up. Red just knows that he needs to make life better for Dillon but he doesn't want to push him and is upset when he responds to Bull before responding to Red's outreach. All's well in the end and the entire group embraces both Dillon and his grandma as part of their family unit.

There was absolutely nothing missing from this story for me and it was perfect with the way it ended. Of course it leaves open more stories for this author to tell from this series and I look forward to whomever story is next.

For anyone who is a fan of Jessie G's Sizzling Miami series (and I'm a huge one!) I think it's fair to say that Bull and Red--aka Jon and Ian--are among the favorite couples, if not THE favorite. Of course each couple has different things that we love about them from Saul's growliness to Owen's somewhat awkwardness to Chris's strength, they all have a certain thing that makes them unique. But for Bull and Red, while they do have traits that make them extremely likable, it's also the fact that they're just such great guys. Compassionate, loving, and so, so kind, these two really make it so easy to love them and see why they're the epicenter of their blood and made family. We've seen them fall in love, we've seen them get married, and in Our Reason, we see them add to their family by opening their hearts and their home to Dillon.

Though this is a novella, it packs quite the emotional punch. I found myself tearing up in more than a few places, which is due to Jessie G's writing. I love everything about this entire series, and Bull and Red especially. The way they support one another, they way they encourage and tease and love just gets me right in the feels. In Our Reason, we see Red fall in love with Dillon, a troubled young boy whose appearance at Bennett House throws Red into a bit of tailspin. Watching him recognize parts of himself in the way Dillon acts and speaks, especially after all we know Red has been through in his life, was equal parts painful and beautiful. The thing I love the most about Bull and Red's relationship is the level of honesty and trust they have in one another and it's never more apparent in their approach to Dillon and in their discussions to make Dillon a part of their family. As couples go, these two are pretty much perfect!

Our Reason is a fabulous addition to a series I hope continues on and on. I'm not sure I'll ever get enough of these guys. *hint hint Jessie* I know the ending left plenty of avenues for new books, especially about a certain lawyer who loves to fish! Really folks, if you haven't started this series, I highly recommend you do so at once and fall in love with the Connor's, whether they're born into the family or made a part of it. Make sure you have plenty of time set aside, and probably a box of tissue, too, because once you start, you'll binge your way through all of them. If you've already discovered Bull and Red and all the rest then Our Reason is not to be missed!

Red and Bull have settled in to married life and it's everything they were hoping for. Red is still working in the garage but at Davin's request he has started teaching art classes at The Bennett House. There Red meets Dillon, and Red can't help but drawn comparisons to himself at that age.

Dillon is standoffish and shy, hiding behind his overgrown hair. Red is drawn to Dillon and in turn so is Bull. Bull offers Dillon a job in the garage and just as they get to know one another something from Dillon's past spooks him and he runs. Red and Bull call in all their reinforcements to help find Dillon and together they prove to him that family is not only made from blood.

I absolutely love Red and Bull so I was really excited to get my hands on this one. If you've read some of the previous books in the series then you know Jessie has a way with words like no other and the is book is no exception. While this book has no on page love scenes which is a little different than her other works, you can still feel the smoldering heat between Red and Bull. The story is well developed and intriguing, I can't wait to see where the "fishing lawyer" takes us. It's sure to be entertaining and heartbreaking.

In "For a Reason" I met Red and Bull, watched them fall in love and fell right along with them. In "Their Reason" I saw their love grow and deepen, culminating in an adventurous wedding and honeymoon. In "Our Reason" I see how strong the foundation of their love really is and how they use that support to expand their family. I never thought I could love Red and Bull more than I did after the first book, but seeing how much Red's confidence has grown and Bull's unwavering support of anything Red wants or needs had me falling even harder for these two.

I'm claiming Red and Bull as my own. I've licked them, they're mine!

✔ Letto!

Poi lo risolveremo insieme, proprio come facciamo sempre. ..."

Per me è ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ e 💋

Our Reason is book 8 in the Sizzling Miami series, I suggest you read at least For a Reason and Their Reason before reading this one, or you'll be thoroughly lost. But truly, the series is great and you'll be missing out if you don't read it all.

Bull and Red are living their happily ever after and enjoying their married life. However, after Red connects with one of the kids at his art class, they'll have to decide if they are ready to expand their little family.

While I'll be the first to admit that I don't like books with multiple POVs, more than the main characters, I mean, in this case, it worked to have Dillon's POV as well, since we needed to learn where he was coming from and all he had already endured when he met Red. Needless to say, his story is heartbreaking, which is what made Red connect to him and Bull want to protect him, as well.

I love what a tight-knit family all these guys have created and how when they 'adopt' someone else into it, like Dillon and his grandma, they do it selflessly and willing to support them in all the ways they could. I especially adored Rupert, he was so funny, unless he was playing lawyer, then he was as ruthless as they come.

Overall, this was a wonderful addition to Bull and Red's story and the series! Emotional and sweet and with enough going on to keep my interest until the last page and leave me with a huge smile in my face! I'll be looking forward to Rupert's story now! Definitely recommendable!

I really love this series. This was a great introduction to the series, not too long yet readers still get a good introduction to the patriarch of the group, Bull and his everything, Red. Additionally, readers get to meet the other couples with just enough tease to know that their stories are going to be fascinating. Even with all of that, there is still enough added to grasp that the Conner world is big enough for every reader to slide in and belong too.

*Binge Warning* If you are new to this series, you'll need to have plenty of time available. You'll definitely want to go to the first book and binge read all the way through.

With eight books into this series, and Our Reason being the third book about this couple, I can honestly say they only get better and better. I have loved them ever since Bull pulled over on the interstate to tow Red's broken down car. I can't explain how Jessie writes such deep, "OMG the feels" feelings of love between these two characters but she does. She brings it each and every time with Bull and Red. Don't get me wrong, I adore all of her guys, Bull and Red are not even my top guys in her series but these two are just in love and you can feel it when you read it. Having them help a teenager who is so desperately in need just plays off of everything we know of both of these characters from previous books.
Dillon was so well written without him being a carbon copy of Red and I think that is what I liked most. He had the same qualities that made you want and need to care for him plus shelter him without wanting to completely smother him. His desire to help and protect his Nan was what made him the highlight of this book. I loved his Nan, she was a great take charge, kick ass and take names grandma.
Bringing in characters from all the other books from this series and the spin off series is what I love about Jessie's books, she makes them about more than just one couple, she makes them about family and friends.
I can't wait to see what Jessie has in store for the Connor's and their new family members.

Heartbreaking teams with hope

The book “For A Reason” is a must read before this story because it’s the story of Bull and Red which will leave you limp with damp cheeks. Bull and Red have gone on in their lives until Dillon enters in one of the art classes that Red now teaches. Red sees in Dillon everything he was before Bull came into his life and Red is so afraid for him. This story made me fear for Dillon and once again Jessie G has written a story that I couldn’t put down.

Phenomenal

Jessie G books and the word phenomenal just go hand in hand. Every book she writes never disappoints you. It grabs you on the first page and never lets go! Red and Bull are favorites to many of her fans and I love how they have grown as a couple. Every story of hers is a stand alone however all characters are mentioned in all the stories.. so trust me... you’ll want to read them all!

This was a lovely story overall. I have enjoyed every one of the Sizzling Miami books. I have one complaint with this one, it did not feel as if it were finished. I would have liked at least one more chapter to state what finally happened to the boy's previous family, for me that would have been a truly happy ending. Even though I wished for more i still would not hesitate to recommend this story to others as a good read!

A great Installment

This series is and continues to be all about family. The ones you are born into and the ones you create. This book is less romance and more emotion, while bull and red expand their definition of family. Some nice teasers about the fishing lawyer. I would have liked more scenes with our favorites from past books but I'm greedy that way. Looking forward to the next books.
