Yet another Wattpad-promoted garbage.
Predictably there was no story, no character development, only pages and pages of unnecessary drama, catfights and sex. Not to forget, the writing was sooo bad.
Can't believe I used to stay up all night reading crap like this. Teenage me was such a lamo 😂

After reading the first in this series entitled, "Chasing Red" and really enjoying it, I was excited to pick up this sequel to see what happened next with the characters of Caleb and "Red".

I have to be honest and say that although I liked this sequel, the story and the writing was not as good as the first book in the series. The story was still fast-paced and kept me reading wanting to know what would happen next but I just didn't feel as if it was as good as a whole. It wasn't boring and did feel quite action packed; however, there were some distinct moments and conversations between the main characters that really resembled a fan-fiction or something that you would read on the internet.

It was an entertaining and steamy read and I think that those who enjoyed the first book in the series will also like this one. However, I caution readers to not go in with overly high expectations. It did the job as entertainment but I would not say that it succeeded in anything more than that.

The author definitely did leave some potential for future novels in the series whether it be the main characters of Red and Caleb or side characters like Kar, Cameron, or Damon. I would be interested in reading these when/if they do come out. Again, not with the highest of expectations but as a quick read.

Always Red picked up right were book 1 left off. It is not a standalone and would be best to start at book 1.

I enjoyed this book a lot more because once Veronica and Caleb mend things, they are pretty solid. No more of Veronica running away which happened a lot in book 1. They still have issues to work through and we still have the interference with Justin and Beatrice Rose, but I loved how Caleb and Veronica stuck together. I also felt the characters behaved more maturely in this one.

This does end on a HEA, so no cliffhanger! ***ARC provided by NetGalley.

Hot, steamy, and fast-paced. This is just as full of drama as Chasing Red was. The ups and downs of the relationship between Red and Caleb continues. I even liked the ending. Ronin's writing style is easy to read and enjoyable.

Thanks to Isabelle Ronin and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca through Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know why I put myself through this agonizing hell that someone though would be a good idea to publish. This book was so bad that I'm going to change my rating for the first book because I honestly don't think anyone should ever read this duology.

This book just completely went in all the wrong directions. It was the dumbest thing I have ever read. I hate leaving bad reviews but this book was just so awful.

Veronica got SUPER annoying in this book. I thought I disliked her in Chasing Red. Oh boy, she got worse. I feel like this author of this book is maybe like twelve-years-old. Or just acts like one. Veronica is an adult who gets squealy when her boyfriend, actually fiance`, sees her UNDERWEAR.

They legit got engaged after seeing each other for a minute. Caleb doesn't really even seem to trust Veronica because he gets all caveman mad when Beatrice-Rose tells him Veronica is with some idiot named Damon. He gets pissy and they end up having "angry sex". They should just break up and never talk again. No one would care.

Caleb is over here talking about buying a house. Uh, sir, that's not your money you're trying to spend. It's your mother's. He's going around acting like it's his money. JUST STOP.

This book was just completely ridiculous. There was no character development. There was no real story. Things were just thrown around in hopes that it would make a good book. That little thing at the ending where it showed that they knew each other as kids? Complete trash. Throw. It. Away.

I'm pissed that I spent $4 on this book. I will never pick up a book by this author again. I can't believe it has a high rating on Goodreads...

This duet gave me the tea and drama I’ve deprived myself of recently in the books I’ve been reading. I love the love and i also love the mess.

Ye still disappointed. I don't marry people I've known for three months. This was very surface level connection tropy which made me sad and mad. Now the Cam's could be an excellent story maybe I'll read that. Truly doubt it though.

A wonderfully sweet and swoony new adult romance.
Tension, tenderness and sexiness are all wrapped up in Isabelle Ronin’s conclusion of the Red duet. Veronica and Caleb’s story snapped, crackled and popped with sweetness and will leave Ronin’s fans in swoon heaven.
“I want you to fight for me. Just as I fought for you. But you wouldn't.”
I stood there, staring after him, tears pouring down my face.

Always Red starts right where Chasing Red left off when Veronica “Red” Strafford pushes Caleb Lockhart away without giving him the benefit of the doubt which leaves her miserable and doubting her decision about not trusting him. We get to see her overcome her fears, find courage and come into her own, while trying to find her footing in the intense relationship with Caleb.

And of course there’s Caleb. An incredibly in love man who is the exact opposite of Veronica in the sense that he’s not afraid to express his emotions towards her and jump into a forever kind of relationship. He’s confident, but not so much when it comes to his beloved Red, because he’s afraid his intensity might push her away. He's adorable! But the more these two open up to each other the harder they fall and their relationship only becomes stronger.

As with the previous book, the story unfolds in a dual point of view. It was a bit on the lovey dovey side, but that is the nature of young love.

Always Read is the swoony conclusion with a bit of suspense and a tad of sexiness to the Red series. It is not a standalone book and should be read after book #1.

Ever since reading Chasing Red, I was looking forward to reading the sequel and finding out what would happen to Red and Caleb. I finally did!

Loving a person was never easy. I knew that from the start. Caleb had shown me that loving the right person was worth the pain.

The writing is still as fluent as it was in the first installment. I got sucked in and wanted to keep reading. There were new developments all the time that simply made you curious what was going to happen next. Not to mention the very descriptive and hot scenes, my my!

Bonus! The MC, Red, loves lasagne - so do I, but I love spaghetti more - and her birthday's September 15, as is mine! This simply had to be added to my review, sorry.

I caught myself grinning agian. Like a creep. I couldn't help it, I realized as I grabbed a pillow and smashed it against my face.

I love this novel as I loved the first one. With the one big difference that I started to dislike Caleb. I simply kept hoping they would break up and find someone else. Why? Let's just say that I have a thing against anything human that has too much of an agressive side. His popped up two times in a way that I simply couldn't accept..

I still very much enjoyed it, but that ruined it a bit for me.

3 / 5

I received this novel through NetGallley. All opinions are entirely my own and aren't biased in any way.

I enjoyed the conclusion to Caleb and Red’s story. Their love is true and strong and strengthened even more by the trials the outside world throws at them. I enjoyed Veronica more in this book and fell further in love with Caleb.

There is lots of other woman drama here with Beatrice-Rose and her machinations but I was glad to see that Red was at a place with Caleb that she could handle the trouble that arose.

This is a well written fast paced read with plenty of steam and lots of possessive, protective and devoted actions from the hero. What’s not to like about that?

This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and Sourcebooks

Dual POV
Safe from cheating although ow drama is rampant, the hero never falters in his loyalty
Possible triggers – physical abuse and emotional abuse

I felt this book wasn't necessary. The little bits of it that I did enjoy could've been put in the first book. All this one had was drama and a crazy storyline. Caleb felt so out of character and not at all who I loved in the first book. It was so unrealistic how much they kept letting Beatrice-Rose get away with. I know there is another book that follows Kara and Cam but I don't think I would be able to make it through. Slightly disappointed.

Okay. Seriously. This book is bad. I was entertained slightly with the first one but if you thought of basic drama in every cliche bad romance novel and then throw them into a blender...this that.

This is definitely my favorite book by Isabelle Ronin so far. The first one had me hooked, but this one had me staying up past my bedtime just so I could read longer. A definite page-turner. This is the second book of hers that I found on Wattpad and I didn't expect to find one that I enjoyed so much. For anyone looking to read something that isn't mainstream, this is a great author to start with.

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago and my time's been super crazy that I couldn't sit and type about my feelings for this book. It's a duology if you're new reading this, the first book is Chasing Red and this one is the segment so it's not really my fault if you get any spoilers from now on, I always try to avoid doing it but sometimes it might be inevitable.

So let's begin!

I really really enjoyed the first book, Chasing Red was like this fresh air on my romances and I love a good cliché, I love when the author can be adorable and obvious with the book in a good way. Red and Caleb are so meant for each other that I was flipping when Veronica (aka Red) took forever to go and talk with Caleb so they could figure their situation together. Can someone please bitch-slap Beatrice-Rose for me?! Also if Isabelle doesn't write a book with Cam and Kar I will kill somebody and I totally mean it. They deserve so much to have their story explained, to have their own happiness with or without each other. I mean reading Always Red you understand more of their story but it's still not enough and deep down I think the author has done on purpose so she can have this wing to write their own story.

PLEASE. DO.

I'm dying for KarCam/CamKar story or CamCam (I found out that the original on Wattpad they shared the same nickname).

Going back to Red story. She's at least better in seeing that Caleb hasn't done anything to betray her trust and that he's not her past nor will be. Now the ball is in her court, what will she do to win him back? Both of them are miserable and we have Beatrice-batshitcrazy-Rose and Justin-WhoDoYouThinkYouAre to be watching out for. It's so frustrating that they are actually capable of so many damaging. Back off bad guys!

We see more sides of Caleb too, he wants to be trusted and he doesn't take it lightly when Red tries to hide things from him. For him it's all or nothing and now he's gonna graduate and work, they need to trust each other if they're gonna make it for her last year of college.

And I need to talk about Theo and Beth! How can he be so blind?! Again I expect a book so I can see their story too! Please? Pretty please? I like the way the author introduced the character to make you curious and wait for more, I expected much more interactions so you could actually be begging desperately for another book, but I can be happy with what I've got.

This second book it's more closure to Caleb and Red story. I liked, I would've like more drama, more craziness, but it was a good cliché which I'm sure Isabelle it's not done, there's not way she will let Cam and Kar hanging there in the open space, so we will get to see Caleb and Red some more. I still love so much Kar moments in the story, she's so sassy, punk, true to herself, funny and such a fierce friend, I love how she picks Red up, kicks her butt and makes her move on.

It shows you that our past might be nerve-wracking, a total nightmare, a darkness without a hint of light but it can't be reflected in our present or our future because we are better than that, we deserve better than that. I can't wait for more to come.

Isabelle is a very good author, her writing style is enchanting and she can quickly draw you to the story. She's a good storyteller and I can see why she made such a success in the Wattpad world before releasing her original book.

If I need to choose, I liked Chasing Red better than Always Red but it's still super good to get to the end of a story that got you so excited in the first place.

The book will be release now on November 7th so be sure to grab your copy and dive in right after Chasing Red!

Even two stars for this book is generous. I wanted so badly to like this book. I really did. I enjoyed the first book a lot and read it in two days. But this one fell short, very short.
For starters, this book didn't need to exist. Story wise it added nothing to the story of the first book, it was a fantasy that people think up after a book ends of the two characters getting married after they finally get together. There was no real plot in this, there was nothing driving this story. Anything that could have added to the story like meeting the family and the antagonists decent into illness could have been added into the first book to make it more developed. But there wasn't enough actual story here to need a sequel. Nobody grew or changed or developed because all the character development happened in the first book (although really Red was the only one who had much of that in the first place).
And I really need to talk about how unrealistic this book is. I know novels aren't always super realistic but when you write a contemporary romance the romance needs to be realistic. And this wasn't. It took so long for Red to get over past trauma due to abuse from her past that the events in this book undermine all her growth that she went through. Red is still in college and Caleb has only just graduated college and the author wants us to believe that they're getting engaged and are going to buy a house together? Already? IN WHAT UNIVERSE B*TCH?? They are clearly way too young to even think of this. Not just because of their age, but also because of their emotional maturity. They behave like children. Any issue in their relationship is fixed by not talking through it but by sex. And even though this girl is clearly in love with him Caleb still exhibits the behavior of a high school boy going all jealous alpha male every time another guy talks to Red. That kind of behavior is unhealthy. And it clearly makes her uncomfortable. He also wants her to not work at all even though Red is clearly a very independent girl who has fought to earn everything for herself, and he offers to get her jobs and pay for everything even when she tells him she doesn't want him to do those things and it makes her uncomfortable. If they were a real couple they wouldn't last a year. Lust only gets you so far, you need to be able to communicate like adults and notice when your partner is uncomfortable and adjust your behavior accordingly. These two characters cannot do this.
I was always kind of waiting for something to happen with Kara and Cameron after all the times its mentioned that they are both clearly still in love with each other and still care about the other but its never addressed.
The last bit of this book i skimmed over because I just wanted it to be over. I was tired of reading these two characters constantly tell each other how much they loved each other, it was getting boring and old and it took up way too many pages of this book, and it didn't add to the story. This sequel really should have stayed on Wattpad, because it felt like a Wattpad story, it even felt like a bad fan fiction. It didn't feel like a novel that should have been published.
On a plus, it was well written.

Well, well, well! The first book was dramatic and this one certainly was, too!

When I read the previous book in this duology, CHASING RED, I couldn't put it down...it left off on quite the cliffhanger, and I was absolutely desperate to get my hands on a copy of ALWAYS RED! Once I got a copy and started reading, I couldn't put it down either!

I have to admit that I didn't love this one quite as much as the previous book...I think with a lot of romances that are duologies, I'm a bit of a tougher sell when it comes to concluding the story--probably because the break between the two books builds up my expectations. I'm pretty sure that's really what kept me from loving this one as much as the first here. I had that time to build up what I wanted to happen in ALWAYS RED, whereas with CHASING RED I just dove right in full throttle. While I didn't love it quite as much as CHASING RED, I still really enjoyed ALWAYS RED. Caleb and Red were wonderful together...and I loved their relationship so much!

In fact, there were so many things that I loved about this book, but it did have some moments that were a bit too dramatic for me, which made me like it less than the first one. However, some parts were handled so well that it had me absolutely ecstatic! I love, love, loved how consent was handled in this book! Caleb always made sure Red gave consent before doing anything which I really appreciated! The first book was a total slow burn and it finally boiled over in this one...it was super worth the wait!

When I'd originally written down my review I mentioned that I was hoping we'd get a story where Kara and Cameron get back together...and you guys, that's what the third book, SPITFIRE IN LOVE, is all about!!! I'll definitely be reading that soon. :D I'd recommend this series to romance readers who love fast-paced stories, slow-burn romances, and lots of drama. ;)

In the words of Tyra Banks, "It is SO bad, I want to give you a zero. But that's not possible. So I give you a one."

The fact that a publisher saw this Wattpad atrocity and thought it was acceptable to put this into print is unfathomable to me. I'm not going to even get into the actual nightmarish plot of this book that was riddled with jealousy, possessiveness, and otherwise emotionally abusive behavior that was somehow glorified as the pinnacle of romance. Nor will I comment on the fact that he gave her the world's ugliest sounding engagement ring at the ripe age of like 20 after knowing each other for... what, 3 months? However, I will say that all of this was made infinitely worse by intermittently having to be reminded that this was taking place in Canada. And I will note, for any future reader that is reading my disgruntled review, that Caleb's whole "you captured my body and mind" shtick was literally just a bastardized version of Mr. Darcy's "You've bewitched me, body and soul" speech from the Pride and Prejudice movie.

I would like to end this brief review by imploring the sick little goblin that runs around in my brain, driven by a compulsive need to finish books/series no matter how much I hate them, to please let me DNF something if I have to physically close the book from cringing every 3 pages.

Borrowed: Emily (...this was somehow worse than Find You In The Dark)

This is, hands down, one of the best love stories I've ever read. The passion and love present between Veronica and Caleb keeps surprising me. I love it.
Isabelle Ronin managed to convey such strong emotions in her writing, I was shaking when Beatrice-Rose cocked that gun, and when Red finally found out she and Celeb had met before I was crying. This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I will gladly ride again and again and again.
This epic conclusion of Chasing Red had me drawn in like a moth to a flame, just like Caleb was drawn to his Red.

“I want everything. All of you. You have to know. How can you not know? You are the most important person in my life. Look at me,”

His words carved a hole in me, I felt like I was being serenaded, cursed with a love so strong I could fall any moment.

“From the moment I saw you, you captured me. Body, mind, and soul. Take everything from me. It’s all yours.”
“Caleb.”
“If I’m to choose my cage,” he said, his voice thick with emotion, “I choose you. I’m a willing prisoner sentenced with a lifetime of loving you.”

I NEEDED IT I LOVED IT.

Every part of this book, moved my earth off of its axis. I was fond and in love with every letter printed. And Kar and Cam’s story intrigued me so much from the second book.

“Did she expect me to remember where Anna’s was when my heart was about to burst?
I couldn’t even remember my own name.”

HE WAS SO SMITTEN AND TAKEN BY HER. He was lost, absolutely lost without her and with her he was consumed. Every part of him and those love stories are the ones told time and time again.

In altre parole....molto smunto!
