Hunter #4

Outcast

Rate this book
On the hunt for a vicious killer, Kelsey discovers that the true threat lies closer than she could have ever imagined.

It’s been months since Trent Wilcox was sentenced to exile, but Kelsey hasn’t given up on finding a way to bring him home. Grayson Sloane doesn’t share her enthusiasm. Loving two men is challenging enough without them being at each other’s throats, and she is unwilling to compromise on the future she knows is meant for them.

Kelsey’s only hope for bringing them all together comes in the form of the Hell lord who insisted on Trent’s exile – Gray’s father. Lord Sloane is willing to acquiesce on Trent’s punishment if Kelsey will do one little job for him. A stray wolf is on a killing spree in Wyoming and he’s killed a number of witches in Lord Sloane’s service. The situation is made all the more complicated by the presence of a sinister werewolf cult in the area. Lupus Solum is known for being cruel to their own kind, and even worse to outsiders.

Caught between a craven wolf cult, a brutal killer, a Hell lord, and a mounting pile of bodies, Kelsey is going to have her work cut out for her. But if she can solve the case, she might have a chance to earn her happily ever after.

“Don’t. You don’t pull away from me. You give me everything you have. I’m safe, Kelsey. I’m the one you can take it all out on. I want every emotion you have. Baby, I take the angry ones. Give me the soft ones, too.”

Outcast by Lexi Blake is one paranormal masterpiece you don’t want to miss! This gem is book four in Lexi’s AMAZING Hunter series and it can’t be read as a standalone. So, if you want to experience this sexy, emotional, and magical journey, start the series today!

I very rarely read PNR books anymore, but when it comes to Lexi Blake, well, there’s pretty much nothing I wouldn’t read by this author. Paranormal, erotic, contemporary, romantic suspense…this woman DOES IT ALL and she never disappoints! Outcast was just an incredible and enjoyable read…one of my FAVORITES of the series, actually. It’s fast-paced, sexy, emotional, with great and unforgettable characters. It’s suspenseful, insanely steamy, and totally original. I couldn’t put it down, not ever for a second, and this isn’t a short read, my friends. I’m a little hesitant when I say we finally get the happily ever after we’ve been waiting for with these characters, because there is room for a whole lot more! But the ending is so damn satisfying and you couldn’t wipe the huge smile off of my face.

Fans of the series, of this author, and of the PNR genre will go CRAZY over this book!

Review:
I said in my review for the previous book that I have mixed feelings about this spin-off series, and the pattern of ups and downs continues because I liked this one more than the last.

There are still problematic and frustrating things in regards to sex, gender, stereotypes, etc. I still hate that Kelsey's inner she-wolf literally NEEDS sex to not go berserk. I still am just not feeling this romance. But there was less focus on sex this time, at least, so I wasn't as bothered.

As for what I liked, there was lots of Little Lee---he's so cute! And the plot was good. I definitely got more into the book as we got deeper into the plot and mystery. In addition to having its own plot, this one also set up a bunch of stuff to come, and I'm happy to know that the open threads from Thieves have not been forgotten since I really want to know how those things will turn out!

Overall this was a middle of the road book for me with a fairly balanced amount of likes and dislikes, but I still feel too invested in some of the characters and the overall story to stop reading, and I really am looking forward to the next book.

*This is a spin-off series, and I highly HIGHLY recommend starting with Steal the Light. The original characters have a heavy presence, and I don't think this spin-off series will be as enjoyable if you haven't read the original one.*

*Rating: 3 Stars // Read Date: 2018 // Format: eBook*

Anyone who likes feisty heroines, lovable characters, polyamorous romances, and complex, long-game plots (overall series).

description

I absolutely love the Thieves/Hunters world, and these are some of my very favorite urban fantasy books. Unfortunately I made the mistake of starting this book late at night, so I was up until 2am finishing it. Now my brain is too tired to write a coherent review!

Lexi did a good job at giving us a recap of who are characters are, and what happened in the previous book. I love when authors do that, as my memory isn't what it used to be, and I don't always have time to go back and do a series re-read before each new book comes out.

So, Kelsey, our Nex Apparatus, and her main men, Gray and Trent, are still dealing with the fallout from the death of the villainous demon (and Gray's brother), Nemcox. Kelsey is willing to pull out all the stops to unite her men, bring Trent home from exile, and save Gray from his demon descent contract. Including take a job to help Gray's father and hell lord, Lord Sloane. So the team tramps off to Wisconsin in search of a rabid wolf in the territory of a crazy werewolf cult.

I enjoyed having the entire team working together. My favorites in this installment were Eddie and Lee. I like the relationship that is growing between Lee and Kelsey... it's both sweet and shows a softer side to our natural born killer. While Lee is still only a kid, his character is so interesting. Knowing what we know about his soul, I am super excited to see how his story develops as he grows. Eddie is a demonic caretaker, who was so cute that you just wanted to pick him up and tweak his little horns.

While Gray and Trent were sniping most of the time, each continues to complement Kelsey's dual nature and meet all her emotional (and definitely physical) needs. Even when they aren't on good terms, this trio steams up your kindle screen. There are exciting things in store for this menage in the future.

So I thought the beginning of the story was a little slow... but man once that action hit (at about 1am while I was reading), I was hooked and couldn't stop turning the page. The buildup and conflict resolution was excellent. And the segway into the next book - stellar! I can't wait for the next release!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from InkslingrPR.

This book started out in a way I wasn't sure of but then supercharged its way to 5 stars.

In the beginning the babies and sperm, the she-wolf having a biological clock ticking rigmarole didn't appeal. I want my women, the Nex Aparatus in this case, to be really badass. I don't want baby talk, sorry not sorry. Get out and nail those bad guys/supernatural beings arses to the wall. Have your trusted team around you, let us like them and connect to them. I truly needed more character connection in the Hunter component of the Thieves series.

So -

Kelsey was protective, certain, strong.
Trent and Gray entered the same page.
Casey developed so much in this book, his vampire came out to play.
Demon Eddie was a great introduction.
Livvie picked up her game.
Other characters added their necessary input - good or bad.
When they hit the woods of Wyoming this book entered really good UF/paranormal territory.

Also -

Good world building.
Good character development.
Little Lee is awesome.
Entertaining overall reading.

Lexi is the master at twists aNd turns and the 'Thieves' universe is no different. I was on the edge of me seat the whole read. I LOVE Trent, and I seriously hope in years to come we get Little Lee's story. So much there.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This might be Lexi Blake’s best writing yet. Kelsey has come into her own as a hunter and she kicks ass in her role as the king’s assassin. I love the way the simpler story of Kelsey’s hunt for a feral werewolf intertwines with the more complicated storylines that weave through the series.

I have to admit that I didn’t fully engage with the first part of this book. Kelsey’s attempts to keep both Trent and Grayson happy almost hit Anita Blake level whinging a few times in the first few chapters. Once the story gets going and Kelsey starts to track the feral wolf, the pace picks up and the story becomes more sharply focused. And then it gets exciting and complicated -and I may have let dinner burn while racing to the end of it.

I fell hard for Trent in this book. I hadn’t quite connected with him in previous books but he he makes sense here and I love the way he steps up for both Kelsey and Gray. We go deep into his past in this book and I love that his personal history is a perfect fit for Kelsey and Gray. All three of our main characters have family problems in this book and I love the way they bond over their daddy issues.

I really loved the way the fae characters are central to this book. The world building is better than ever and I love that I can still be intrigued by the details of Kelsey’s world. I don’t want to give away anything but I loved seeing the characters away from home and I really loved the Hunter action in this story. This story doesn’t stand alone. New readers will need to start at the beginning of the Hunter series - though I’d probably recommend going all the way back to the start of the Thieves books.

This book was awesome and the ending was absolutely brilliant! Finally, Summer is coming! (that sounds so GoT like)

Oh, where do I start. Because I loved everything about this book.
I loved Eddie and Lee and Fen, I felt for Meredith even though she almost managed to get everybody killed, and I even reluctantly admired Lord Sloane: I mean, the plan almost worked and he was an evil genius for thinking about it. He's not dead so I think we'll see more of him but I'm not in any hurry! But this is the thing about the villains in these series... I hate them, but they are so well built that I can't help but admire them too.

The juicy part was of course the prophecy and then Kelsey's dream.
Lee and Fen are destined to be friends and Fen will marry Evan, who is the one whose "glow will make or break him"? Apparently. She's a companion, so she glows. And it's interesting that she's meant for the Lupus Rex instead of a vampire. A new world indeed. The question is, was that a happy wedding? Zoey was crying, Lee died, Fen's thoughts were of manipulation. Of course the tears could have been of joy, but that vision makes me wonder if that is what will happen if Evan's love won't be enough for Fen. Also, what about the rebellion that Fen was thinking about?

When it says "never let them tell you there can be only one", I thought at first it meant that there could be two kings in the supernatural world, a vampire king and a wolf king, and they could still live in harmony. But then in Kelsey's dream Lee dies and his death "will change the world". So what if Lee comes back as a vampire after he dies? And a vampire king, like Daniel? There would be two of them. I need to read Thieves again, but I think it was said somewhere that there was always only one king at a time?
And Myrddin picking up Lee's crown after he died, makes me think he'll be the one trying to convince everyone that there can only be one king.

Also, the prophecy says "leave the king behind and he shall destroy. Bind the king in friendship and he will find the light." In Kelsey's dream, Lee asks her to never leave him behind. So, what if the prophecy actually refers to both kings? Never leave Lee behind, bind Fen in friendship.
I have the feeling that everything (or almost everything) we were told in this book has two or three different interpretations and applies to different situations, instead of a single event. Like the trick and the trap or the "blood informs blood"

Kelsey, Trent and Gray finally got married and Kelsey is definitely pregnant and trapped in the painting. A painting Myrddin gave to Daniel... and that trapped Dev, who Merlin never liked. I bet Marcus was trapped inside the painting first, and then Dev noticed him and was sucked in as well, like Kelsey. I wonder where did they end up. Maybe in the dimension of A Faery Story?

I think the next book will be the one that transitions us from Kelsey to Summer as heroine. And then we'll finally get to Summer and Marcus! And after that, it will be Lee's turn. I see many years of entertainment ahead of us

I received a free copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

Outcast is the 4th installment in the Hunter series and most definitely cannot be read as a standalone, as all threads tie together. As for it being the 9th installment in the Thieves series, I can attest to how reading the Thieves series prior to the Hunter series is not a prerequisite. No doubt the emotional payoff is better, but I was never confused due to not reading it first. However, I will eventually go back and read the original series.

Since it had been a long while since I read the 3rd in the series, and the events tying the books together are rather complicated, it did take me a bit to play catch-up. I almost wish I did a refresh of the series. But I will applaud Lexi Blake for giving amazing plot cues from past installments to spark the reader's memory. I'm never a fan of a rehash or info-dump, but this author releases just enough information to remember, without bogging down the novel with too much.

Gray and Trent are not on good terms, after the death of Gray's brother at Trent's hand to protect and save Kelsey. She is being pulled in two, while also feeling guilt for Gray's pain but justification in the death. She needs them to get along for all three of their wellbeing. This budding relationship issue adds an angsty yumminess that underlies the mystery to solve.

Gray's demon daddy needs a renegade wolf found just outside of Devil's Tower (thought this was awesome as I've visited and walked the base of the tower, so it was fun to imagine the goings on. The motel was spot-on from one I stayed in. LOL!)

No one trusts the demon, but they still do his bidding for diplomatic relations, while the royal family deals with Merlin. Little Lee, aka Big Lee's soul, Kelsey fears what will happen to the nosy child spy should the magician see him for who he truly is, the man he killed and was reborn into the little fella.

A team descends to locate the wolf and solve the mystery, and it was the retinue that made the novel so much fun. It was more humorous than I remember the previous books to be, with Little Lee and the butler in training, who just happens to be a 'too tall' satan. All the characters interacting with one another brought an endless source of entertainment as Kelsey dealt with her bickering mates, while sensing her abusive stepfather is out there a step ahead of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed Outcast, looking forward to the next installment, while also feeling eager to go back to the very beginning and read the Thieves series. Where I did struggle, the book felt on the long side, without much happening for a large bulk of the novel. While I was entertained, I wasn't hooked, especially in the beginning as I struggled to place myself in who/what/where/when/why/how, but especially appreciate the author cluing me in.

The only issue stopping me from giving a 5-star rating is simply the pacing, as I wasn't hooked, taking me several days to complete the novel, which is a rarity for me. But, on the flip side, you can say I savored it.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Kelsey has never had it easy. Growing up as the child her father didn't like, she learned early to stay out of his way. Never knowing the reasons why, Kelsey not only wanted her father's approval, but his love as well. Trying to prove that she was worthy of his love, she found herself in a situation she didn't anticipate, couldn't control and left her devastated when she learned who and what her father truly was: a murderer.

Except that man wasn't really her father. He was the man her mother was married to when she had an affair with a lone wolf and she was the result. No matter, Kelsey still hates him for what he not only did to her, but to her mother and brothers.

Now, years later, she has come face to face with the monster who haunts her dreams, only this time, she has more to protect than just herself. She has Trent and Gray and the possibilities of the children she saw in her prophesy. If she can manage to get them all of this situation in one piece there's a chance that she can live happily ever after.

The catch? She has to do a favor for Lord Sloane, Gray's demonic father. By doing so, she will get Trent saved from the Outcast status he's currently in because of killing Gray's demonic half-brother. Knowing that there's more going on than meets the eye, Kelsey agrees. Her chance at the future she longs for is worth any risk on this plane.

Tangling with the monster who raised her, the demonic spirits from the Hell plane are just a few of the things that Kelsey must face in order to free Trent and Gray. Taking little Lee with her to Colorado where he meets his new bestie is probably not the smartest move, but she knows that she has to protect Lee against the forces that surround him as well.

I adored this book and especially the ending. I knew that painting had significance, just didn't see it coming to fruition in this manner.

Outcast (Hunter #4) by Lexi Blake

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Whew! This book is a whirlwind of emotion, turmoil, sadness and love. If you haven't read the previous books, you might find yourself a little confused, but they aren't necessarily needed. However, I would strongly suggest reading them in order, as they will make the most sense.

Trent and Gray and still at odds. Kelsey is caught in the middle. I love the dynamic between Kelsey and her men. The two alphas in this pack also have great chemistry, but theirs is sometimes harder to discern. Kelsey is trying everything she can to bridge the chasm between Gray and Trent. But with a strange mystery happening where Trent used to live, all three have to set out.

What makes this case even more suspicious is that Gray's dad "needs them" too. Gray knows his father and whenever he is around, something bad is bound to happen.

I really enjoyed watching this mystery play out. Betrayal is something that Kelsey is used to and when her step father also turns up, she knows that nothing good can come of that. She has to juggle Trent, Gray, her step father and Gray's dad, all while trying to do her job.

I can't WAIT for the next book. This one sets up such a great beginning. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a true cliff hanger, but you are most definitely left hanging. It's amazing!

Kelsey has joined the ranks of my favorite fantasy leading ladies now! She is part wolf and has a demon arm, can't get much cooler than that. She is in charge a lot of the time, but she also knows when to step back and ask for help. She is a bit stubborn, but she allows others to help her when she needs it. Kelsey was such an all-around likable character! But don't think that she is weak, because she isn't. When her demon or wolf side comes out to play, nothing will get in between her and what she wants.

I loved hearing about her relationship with Gray and Trent. Usually, when you read a reverse harem story, the men are already in love with each other before they fall for the woman. This was a more realistic approach to the reverse harem trope, as both men were only in love with Kelsey. They tolerated each other for her, but that was about it. They had no romantic feelings towards one another, and they fought a lot, but they wanted to keep it together for Kelsey. The book was about romance, but it was mostly about the two of them trying to overcome their differences for Kelsey. I can't wait to see how their relationship blossoms in future novels.

This story wasn't really action-packed, but it was very suspenseful. You don't know what is really going on with Lupus Solom, and at every turn, new characters are added into the mix. My favorite side character was Eddie, a sweet but nervous butler. He had been in a house where they had abused him for being a demon, so he is determined to do everything perfectly. Lee, an 11-year-old boy, does everything in his power to make sure that Eddie is comfortable. Reading their storyline was very sweet, and I hope that there will be a full story just about Lee sometime in the future.

Kelsey's stepfather is trying to come back into their lives, even though Kesley doesn't want him there. He makes her lose control of her powers through all of the bad memories, but if she doesn't face him, he will simply continue to track her down. Even though this is a semi-main plot of the book, the book does focus on the Lupus Solom storyline more than the "family history" storyline. And I definitely liked that.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new adult fantasy-romance-mystery novel to read.

Oh My Gosh I cant Wait for the next Theives!!

Loved, loved this book, well I love all the Theives books. Lexi has not disappointed me this time either. I’ll only say loved the ending ... every. damn. Word of it. If I could have taken a day off of work I would have so I could have read straight through. Every time I read a Thieves story I feel like these characters are just as real as any human being story. Kelsey is as dear to my heart as Zoey is and every man, creature, demon, wolf and vampire in the story I’ve come to love or sometimes hate. Lexi writes these characters with such passion and heart and I feel like she’s sat down with them and just penned their biographies for them. Lovers are the series will be blown away and will enjoy EVERY MINUTE they spend reading Outcast. Of course there is more on the horizon my fellow Thieves fans and it will be just as spectacular. Maybe if I have enough notice, this time I will book a day off and truly keep reading from start to finish. If you have not read any of these stories do yourself a justice and read from the beginning, the stories are truly rich, exciting and well written. There is so much humor, action, adventure, love, friendship, devotion, sadness, angst, and excitement. Lexi Blake is an incredible writer, she just blows me away with all these intricate stories but she does it every time. Sometimes you get a series of books like these and you start to lose interest, YOU WILL NOT do that with this series I SWEAR! Get you one-click finger ready and click yourself into the Thieves universe, you won’t want to leave.

Kelsey's love life has never been more complicated, Gray still can't forgive Trent for his brother's death while Trent has been exiled as punishment for what happened making him a target for anyone who wants to hurt her. She's doing her best to hold things together but she needs both of the men in her life and is desperate to find a way to bring Trent home and make peace between him and Gray. Gray's father Lord Sloane has offered her a way to make that happen but when demons are involved the only thing you can guarantee that there is going to be a catch. Still, if she agrees to hunt a werewolf who is on a killing spree in Wyoming there is a chance of getting Trent out of exile, but only if they can survive whatever trap Sloane has put in place to hurt them.

Outcast makes all of the main characters face up to things that happened to them in the past, there is a lot of emotional baggage with their families but also between the three of them that they need to work through but it looks like Kelsey, Gray and Trent are finally building towards their happily ever after. There are lots of complications along the way but the future is definitely looking much brighter for all of them. Lexi Blake is never afraid to put her characters through the wringer though so you should definitely be prepared for things to get much worse before they start to get better.

There are several plots that have been building to a head for a while now, a few of which are resolved in this book but some that are only just getting started and after the way things ended I'm ridiculously excited for the next book. This was definitely my favourite instalment in Kelsey's series, we're introduced to some great new characters, we get to spend time with old favourites and the story had me hooked from beginning to end. The next book can't be ready soon enough!

Thieves series is my all time favorite paranormal romance series. Thieves Hunter included. I love every scene. Outcast added some new characters, evil and good. I have a fondness for the knew demon Eddie. I am so happy with Lord Sloane's outcome. Merlin is up to something I know. Zoey is still as sharp as a whip. Kelsy, the star, is one bad-ass sheriff. But my favorite person is Little Lee. talk about a hero. Lexi Blake has the best characters. I would recommend this series to everyone.

I have to include my disappointments. I am an Audible customer because I don't read well. Thieves Hunter is not on Audible. It doesn't make sense to me that a publisher would deny the Thieves fans from Audible the Hunter stories. Seriously angry about that. To read Hunter Series I went out and purchased a kindle Paperwhite which I find truly annoying to use. The reason I bought it is because I needed the text to voice access. So if you like listening to books more, or can't read well it is an alternative way to access Hunter Series. The robotic voice is not Kitty Bang, of course, but if you increase the speed to at least 1.25 its not so bad. I have listened to hundreds of books and endured worse readers than the robotic voice on Kindle.

Let me just say that Ms. Blake has knocked it out of the park with this book. After being disappointed with the last book, I was still eager to move forward and see what was going to happen next. Thankfully, this book took off from the very beginning and was filled with one action scene after another.

There is so much going on and things continue to build until this books culminates in the mother of all battles. Part of me kept wanting for Kelsey, or SOMEONE to figure out what was going on before it was too late. The return of the asshole step father - shoot, ALL of the asshole parents - and the lengths that a particular character went to to set everything up was just mind blowing.

The final scenes had me holding my breath as things started to go wrong and just didn't stop. I LOVED Lee again in this book. That boy is freaking AWESOME! It will be exciting - and possibly frightening - to see what happens with the dream that Kelsey had regarding the two boys. Scary, those stupid prophecies are.

I LOVED the final outcome of the battle and just when I was hoping that our trio could take a breath...well, that ending happened. So, gotta go because I have to find out what's happening next.

Outcast( Theives #9, Hunter #4) by Lexi Blake is the saga in the life of Kelsey, The Hunter, the sheriff of the supernatural world. Her wolf mate is has been an Outcast since he killed Grey's demon brother. Her other lover Gray is struggling with the fact Trenton killed his brother, their menage and his eminent descend into hell. Now in counseling to help them navigate their relationship. A set of deaths of witches has the Hunter and team to Wyoming. Trent's status as an outcast is at stake over this job. A lot is at stake and the visions of prophets seem to be coming to pass. When I first decided to read this story I didn't know it was a series and this was book 4. Gratefully I was able to read the 3 previous books. I love this series. I love the characters and the story. When I started this book it started off a little slow and I wasn't sure if it would live up to the previous books. Oh boy!!! When it got to one part it took off like a shoot. Sooooo Gooooood!!!! The ending was a wow and I am chomping at the bit in anticipation of the next book. I just can't say enough about this series.

This is the fourth book in the Hunter: A Thieves Series and it is a definite must for lovers of the paranormal genre. It is not a standalone and the books must be read in order. It is that book that once started will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning until it is finished. The characters are memorable and it is one emotional read. It combines suspense, drama, steam and a whole lot more. There is a retelling of what transpires in the previous books to help with remembering. Once again, we have Kelsey doing everything, she can to get her men back, including taking a job from Lord Sloane. Let’s also not forget about the group dealing with the aftermath of the death of Nemcox, the heinous demon. The beginning was a bit slow but once the action kicks in, you will not be able to keep from stopping. It is one storyline that you need to read for yourself to see the brilliance of this author and this amazing series.

Outcast is book #4 in the Hunter Series. Lexi Blake you made me tearing up with your acknowledgements. I am so sorry that you lost your mom. I am glad you found your happy place with writing this series and book.

Kelsey, Gray & Trent start therapy. Trent has been exiled as punishment for killing Gray’s demon brother Nemcox. Gray is having a hard time with Trent since his brother was killed.

Now Kelsey wants a baby and I love that Casey changed all for the love of a woman. New characters are introduced & I am sure we will see them in the next book.

Outcast & the Hunter Series are must reads if you love reading Fantasy, Paranormal, Sci-Fi that have witches, werewolves, vampires & demons in the story then this book is perfect for you!

Here is hoping that we don’t have to wait long for Stealing Summer, the next book in the Hunter Series. 5+ Stars of this MUST read!

How long will I have to wait?!

Ok!! so it was excellent as is expected the content the story the suspense the action. All great as we have come to know and expect from LB. I didn't think they would fall in o thought she'd fall out. SOlo i can't review this books without giving stuff away I just can't and I don't want to be like that.
The only thing I would be inclined to take a star off for was the fact that Ms. Blake did not include when Stealing Summer would be coming out!!!! I don't know if I can wait a while year or until summer 2019 I just cant. I understand that we !just not rush the creative process and the story needs to be properly developed but I'm gonna go outside my mind for this next one. I thought this one would have quenched the thirst but it only made it worst. Please let us know

Everyone is back this time and I am one happy reader. This book gives us more of an insight into Trent's past and his family. Lord Sloane is back causing futher hate and discontent. Kelsey is once again divided, trying to save Gray, protect Lee and due her thing. Love Kelsey. She is kick ass but she sometimes lets others bring out those doubts from book 1 that make you want to shake her and remind her that she killed a demon and an angel, she is super special and no one should make her feel less than that. Anyway, there are twists, turns and moments in this book that I enjoyed a lot. Glad I took the time to go back an re-read Sleeper before reading Outcast so everything was fresh in my mind. Excellent read in my opinion. Can't wait for Stealing Summer.

Absolutely excellent instalment in series

You really need to read the series in order of publication to get the best from the book.
Kelsey and her hot men get into so much intrigue and betrayal, the deception is everywhere and their fight to win against all the odds is literally fingernail biting tense!
There are some sex scenes each of them appropriate and proportionate although the MMF aspect is hinted at so if you are a prude or easily offended be aware.
I can't wait for Stealing Summer to release in a few days, I have been longing for Marcus to get his own story. Knowing the author the next book in the series will have more than enough plot twists, angst and unbridled happiness to satisfy readers.

This book was everything I could have wished for and so much more and that ending OMG that ending, I am counting down the days till I can get my hands on book 5. The romance was swoon-worthy and hot , the plot will keep your eyes glued to the page and the world will fascinate you. If your wondering if you should pick up Outcast the answer is YES as soon as you possibly can !Lexi Blake wowed me with this book , she is officially one of my favorite authors!

I enjoyed this book about Kelsey, Gray, and Trent. Kelsey is looking for a lone wolf that has apparently lost his mind and is killing people in Wyoming. Gray and Trent go with her to locate the wolf and to isolate him and treat him if needed.

Kelsey first sees the wolf in an open field and finds that he is not threatening. She has to figure out what is going on with the murders. Gray's dad is also there trying to get his coven of witches to do a spell to help him in the underworld.

Gray and Trent are trying to help her track down the murderer and to help Gray's faher with the spell that will help him keep his place in the underworld.

Trent has been outcast, forced to live outside of the council and away from his mate after killing Lord Sloan’s demon son in defense of Kelsey. Grayson is having mood swings and acting unlike himself. The trio is sent to find a werewolf killer who is leaving a path of destruction. Mayhem ensues and alliances are questioned. Kelsey continues to be a badass heroine but this installment of the series shows her nurturing side. New characters are embraced and readers will delight in reuniting with old favorites.

All of my life I’d thought of myself as a freak, but it is okay to be a freak. It’s okay to be weird and to not fit in. It’s all right to be the oddball.

We were all outcasts at one time or another ...

I’d learned even outcasts can make a family if we care about each other enough.

After a slow first half, the remainder of the book was a page-turner. I'm looking forward to "Kelsey, Zoey, and Summer –and the whole Thieves crew –[returning] in Stealing Summer."

From the first moment we heard/read the prophesy "Summer is coming" I was like WTF! OMG! WOW! and all that jazz, but it was just wetting my appetite and made me inhale the books. All four of the Hunter (sub) series is done and it's not enough. I will keep tabs for Stealing Summer.

Kelsey was kickass heroine and I enjoyed her very much, even if I didn't particularly understand why the whole fuss with Gray. He treated her badly and kept treating her badly throughout all four books. Anyway looking forward to see what's going to happen in the Thieves world.

Another Winner in the Thieves Series

I so enjoyed this next installment in Lexi Blake's Thieves series. The book had such an interesting plot line with unexpected turns. Many characters continued from the first three books with new and surprising ones fitting in. I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series.
Kelsey is one strong minded, determined heroine. Gray and Trent have struggles of their own and still are supportive of Kelsey. The villains are great characters too. Just what the story needs.

Another Hit

This book continues the story of Kelsey Owen, a supernatural hunter and her partners, Gray and Trent The many other characters of previous hunter books make their presence known, with little Lee pulling his antics and mischief. This book could be read as a stand alone but I'm sure the reader would want to fill in all the little details the previous books could provide. As usual, the story is filled with mystery, intrigue, a couple great twists and of course some steamy sex. It's a great read with wonderfully developed characters and plot.
