Twenty-one-year-old Reese Salt and her best friends like to party, flirt with boys, and stare at her super hot mysterious neighbor who keeps trying to tell her something in cryptic messages. She doesn't believe him, wanting to continue living her carefree life. But then things get weird when they're at a party and someone--or something--laces the party favors. Suddenly Reese is surrounded by hot guys in tactical gear, looking for one of her boyfriend's childhood friends, who they say isn't human.

After that night, everything changes. The safe world Reese thought she lived in isn't so safe anymore. To take her mind off it, and to apologize for being a jealous jerk, her boyfriend Wheeler takes her on what's supposed to be a romantic getaway--until his jealous tendencies turn violent and he smashes her face, knocking her out. As if things couldn't get any worse, they wake up under attack by what Reese can only describe as monsters. Only caring about his own survival, Wheeler smashes her leg, leaving her for dead. Big mistake. Something inside her awakens, and her body goes on autopilot, literally. She finds a helicopter, and instinct takes over, flying her battered body home, and leaving Wheeler to die at the mouths of the monsters.

Reese and her friends then seek out the help of her hot neighbor, who is the leader of a training program that fights the things that go bump in the night. Reese goes to the facility in search of answers, but she ends up finding so much more. Reese learns about weapons, fighting, monsters, and most of all, herself. Then there's Oliver Steele, her trainer who becomes much more. Reese is scared to open up, afraid she'll only get hurt again.

Can Reese save the world, learn to trust her heart, and find the strength to learn about who she really is? She better. Her life depends on it.

I DNF. Way too much references to how hot the guys are that are instructing and how Steele will be pissed. For God’s sake just freaking tell her how you feel and get on with killing monsters

My mind is blown. Unveiled is more then I could have ever imagined. R.S. Broadhead is a new author to me and I can't believe that I have not read her work until now. I have really been missing out.

Unveiled is book #1 in the series. A large majority of this book is setting the scene for the real plot to grow and build. Although this book is primarily about setting the stage, Ms Broadhead was able to keep it very exciting and suspenseful. Ending the book right at the climax was a great touch. Luckily the second book is already out and I ordered it IMMEDIATELY. I found this book to be a major page turner and consumes my thoughts when I put the book down.

In this book you meet Reese. She is a typical teen, right? After some super strange events she finds out that there is so much more to her world that she never knew. Other realms, monsters and more. As if the fact that her world is now upside down with the knowledge that everything she once knew was all a lie, she finds out that she was blessed with special gifts from birth. Gifts that could help her save humanity for what goes bump in the night. She is asked to join an elite task force that trains and specializes in the supernatural. Although most of her friends are also gifted and have joined her in her training, she meets other warriors that are beyond skilled in their specialties. Can living under the same roof with men who are gorgeous and talented be good for her heart after her last relationships all ended terribly? Will she be able to keep it professional? Will she find the answers to why she was chosen to join this team and what makes her special?

I am not normally a huge paranormal fan, but this book really called it me. Although it is full of monsters, it is in a believable way. The suspense will keep you wanting more and the story line is really starting to form into something potentially amazing. I can't wait to read the rest of the books and more by Ms. Broadhead in the future! I highly recommend this book!

Reese Salt was just a normal girl until one night a party took a very strange and unexpected turn of events. She thought guy trouble was her biggest problem but she had no idea. With just about everything out to get her Reese has to rely on some new friends to train her to fight and get her up to speed on all the things that go bump in the night... and it certainly doesn't hurt that all her new friends happen to be drop dead gorgeous. The only problem is she doesn't know it but she might not be quite human herself.

My first thought was wow these are some very unique character names, my second thought was wow this is getting interesting, and my third thought was damn I am finished already!
Overall I rather enjoyed this one. The setup is interesting and I like the characters. I don't quite know how it's possible for every guy in this town to be drop dead gorgeous but I'm not complaining. Heck if a place like that really existed I would be asking the author for directions!
One of the only things that threw me a little was all the slang in the dialogue between the characters. One minute everyone is talking perfectly normal and the next they are all talking straight up slang and in some spots it was just a bit much.
That being said I still really liked this book and that last chapter was a real doozy! I certainly didn't expect it and can see the potential for a lot of great books in this series.
In my opinion Unveiled is definitely worth a read.

Reese Salt and her group of friends like to party and do what most twenty-one year olds do until one party went a bit just too far. They saw some things that were just out of this world, literally. It opened their eyes to see that there is more out there than just humans, a world they were born to be a part of. These wild friends are totally boy crazy, so when they are pulled into this elite fighting club of super hot guys they bit off more than they could chew. Hot guys everywhere! They have to learn to fight the supernatural and save the world, but that’s not asking too much.

This to me was a fun read, I felt that that was the authors game plan. She did a great job with bringing these group of friends together, they were close and not catty like most girl groups. It had supernatural going on with a twist of crazy college girls. You can teach these girls to fight but you can't teach them how to behave. I loved the freedom of this story it wasn't heavy at all. Reese was a great character, there was a love match making but it's hard to tell where she will land. With her uber hot trainer or her ex, who knows but she has something more pressing on her mind than guys.

I give this story 5 stars I liked it and I can't wait to read the next installment. It's a super fun read that you don't want to put down because you want to know what will happen next.

Wow. This one doesn't slow down at all. Reese is a regular college girl with a regular life. That is until the night of the party when she and her friends witness something trying to kill them and a group of fighters save them. Now the world as she knew it doesn't exist and she must face the reality that monsters are real. She goes off with her boyfriend to try to work on their relationship and get away from the weirdness but things go terribly wrong and her boyfriend is killed by monsters. She is forced to face that the monsters are real and she must face them.
I have to say that Steele was my favorite character. He was just so HOT. I mean he is a butt-kicking-machine and yet has a soft side. Reese has issues and I cannot wait to see exactly what she is. Her friends were great, and her best friend is so funny! Each of her friends have a unique ability and the no fraternizing policy was a laugh! I really liked the give and take between Steele and Reese. I was a bit freeked out by the end because I want more!
It was a 5/5 for me. Occasionally the way some of the characters spoke annoyed me but the story and pace far outweighed that.

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

reviewThis book flew by. I was sent a review request and the blurb instantly grabbed me. I am so glad I jumped into this series. A solid 4 star read for me. Give me someone discovering the dark things that hide in the night any day. I love stories where the main characters are having their eyes opened to the REAL world they had no idea existed. R.S. did a great job of this.

Throw in some hunk guys and some bad-assery any day for me. This story was non stop, by the time I got to the end I wasn't sure where the time had gone. A quite original read for me in the paranormal world, I haven't read anything quite like it. A great debut novel in this series that has a lot of potential to grow into true greatness for the remainder of the series. I really can't wait to see where it goes.

The main character, Reese, has her eyes opened one night and from there things just get better. She learns to help fight the dark things of the night and in the process learn a little about herself. She was a wee written character and I can't wait to see how she grows.

My only complaint about the book is the dialogue. Some of it left me wanting a little maturity from the characters. Most of them are young, so it did make sense to an extent, but it felt like it went back and fourth a bit. All in all it didn't really take away from the story though.

A fast paces read about fighting your fears and jumping head first into a battle. This story is filled with drop gorgeous guys (No really, it must be something in the water), and a plot that really hooks you.

What doesn't Reese know about her self. Is there more to the story than she knows? Hot guys, fighting, best friends, and a bit or paranormal to tie the bow. Lots of potential. Can't wait to start book two.

When I started this book I was thinking a few more pages and I'll move on, however those few pages got me. It's well written and very detailed. I'm not gonna lie during some of the chapters I had to skim ahead because I got bored, but that only happened a couple times throughout the series. This was really a good start to the series. Left you wanting more, but didn't make you angry with how it ended.

Could have been better

While the story was mostly good, it was silly editing mistakes, use of wrong words and such that kept me from giving this a better rating. For instance, it's a loaner car, not a loner car...

Great characters

This is a good read great characters but be prepared because it stops just as you are getting into the story and you have to buy the next book to find out what happened. I was very disappointed 😞 when I realized that there was an open ending!

4.5 Stars!!!

Everyone that has followed our Blog/Facebook Page knows that we love to read Young Adult/Contemporary Romance or Romantic Suspense books, so when we were asked if we would be willing to read Unveiled, I was a little nervous. I have only read maybe like 4-5 Paranormal/Fantasy books because I usually have a hard time reading this genre. So when I started reading Unveiled, I had to keep an open mind and not prejudge it. That being said, I am happy to say that I really enjoyed it! I read it in 1.5 days and there are not many books in this genre that I can say that about. I really felt that this book had a little of everything. It was funny, had romance, was full of action, and lots of hot men!!

Reese Salt is 21 years old and loves to hang out with her friends Shayla and Savannah. She also spends time with her new boyfriend, Wheeler, while trying to keep her ex-boyfriend, Sim, off her mind. If only things were that simple. Reese's friend Shayla can not stand Reese's boyfriend Wheeler and she dose not try to hide it.......

"So Shayla, do you get along with Reese's boyfriend?"

"Nope, I wouldn't piss on that boy if he were on fire. I'd just watch and then shit on his ashes."

"Hey, I think your buddy don't like your boyfriend."

Yeah...I would say she doesn't like him! She is constantly going on and on about how she can't stand him and tells Reese that she can do so much better. Not only does Reese have to deal with Shayla, but all of a sudden Reese starts running into Sim in different locations which starts to bring back her feelings for him which makes her feel confused. Not only was she confused...I was confused too! There were times that he would be a total douche to her and play games. Then there were times that he was so sweet and smooth......

"As long as you're happy, that's all that matters, but if you ever decide to get rid of him, you know where to find me. There's no one else like you, Reese, and there will never be another girl that compares to you. Anyone that ends up with you is lucky."

...Swoon

The life that Reese once had becomes even more complicated one night at a party. Reese and her friends, along with Wheeler, were having fun until people started acting strange. All of a sudden, people started hallucinating...causing everyone to run out side. Then out of no where, the ground started shaking and the trailer they were all in burst in half. A huge monster looking creature came through the trailer and shortly after everyone is surrounded by hot guys in tactical gear trying to fight off this creature. Once the creature is killed and the mess is "cleaned up" no one knows what is going on anymore. Suddenly their lives are not as simple or safe as they once were. Reese finds out that she is living in a world that contains more than the human life. It now contains monsters and various amounts of creatures in all shapes and sizes. Reese also finds out that her friends as well as herself, hold special abilities that will help fight these creatures and keep the world safe. In order to do that, they all go to a special training facility that is full of nothing but hot guys and one asshole!! Just when Reese thinks she is overwhelmed with Sim and Wheeler in walks Steele.....

Steele..... is..... well..... DEMANDING!!! With his back ground... I wouldn't expect anything less. He is so stern and to the point. I loved it!! Steele's one hot piece of man candy with a nice body, (give me a minute while I wipe my drool)... HAHA!! And his mouth? Oh... the things that come out of it!!! I can just imagine what he would look like with his JBF hair!!! So yummy!! But wait...now that I think about it, there is more then just one yummy man in this book!

There is definitely a lot more to this story so you will have to read it to find out what it's all about. Like I said, I really enjoyed it and I seriously could not stop laughing at some of the things that came out of peoples mouths. Reese and her friends are totally some bad ass chicks! I am looking forward to the next one because let me just say.... that ending? It left me hanging!! This book was full of action and some hilarious conversations that I just could not get enough of! I Would definitely recommend this book to any reader that likes Paranormal/Fantasy with a little romance all wrapped in one!

*Was given a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review*

Okay, so the first time I picked this up was a couple of months ago but as I was reading I just couldn't get into it and the story just wasn't sitting right with me, it had some problems (in my liking how it was going, not with editing). So I had to put it down and move on. But then I decided to pick it back up and give it another try.

This time I read it a bit slower, thinking maybe that would help me get into it better. It didn't and those problems I had before were still there. At first I thought it was going well, flowing well with the world building. Had to take some time in getting connected to the characters but I saw potential so I kept reading. But when I got to the moment where the main gal's neighbor tells her and her friends they are special and that he want's to train them, once again I was blown away (not in a good way) with how they reacted to this. They jumped the gun, without asking any questions or asking what the hell is going on (the first thing I would ask is if the world was ending, especially after the second incident Reese had with these creatures), instead they were all into it and couldn't wait to start training. Um, what? Is your town so boring that you'll just say yes to anything without asking questions?

But even though I hated how they reacted, I trudged through still thinking it had potential. It didn't and things for me went down hill from there. If you're thinking they have special powers like wielding fire or water, or able to read minds or have physic abilities then you're going to be surely disappointed. The powers are things you'd be trained for within special government agencies, special ops kind of things. Things to me that don't really qualify as "special", especially if these things can be taught to anyone.

Then this story did a 360 and so much boy drama became the center of attention, caused for me to forget about pretty much everything that happened in the beginning and where this story was leading to at the end. So much boy drama and it just didn't feel right. This story didn't flow well for me and wasn't balanced with the paranormal and romance. They just didn't connect well and so I wasn't able to connect with the story.

Another scene that helped make it harder to get into or take this story serious was when a couple of "special ops" guys were sent to look after the girls when they went to the party, decided to give them a strip tease, on stage in front of everyone and then get drunk afterwards. Okay, and I'm supposed to take these guys serious after that? I don't mind them having fun but wrong time when they're working on the job.

Overall I just couldn't connect to the story, it just felt wrong and the story didn't flow for me and the boy drama. Cue roll eyeing, I don't know how a girl can sleep with a guy and think she's falling in love with him and then the next moment, cuddled with that said guy as he's sleeping, starts thinking about her ex and thinking maybe one day they'll get back together. Um, no. Just, no. And throughout the book I felt like things didn't really get explained so when new speculation came to light in the ending it piqued my interest so since the author was kind enough to send me the second book with this one, then I'll probably give it a try and see if it gets any better.

Also, forgot to mention, in the beginning every character we met pretty much started with the letter "S" so it didn't make things easy to remember who was who. Does anyone else hate when there's multiple characters with the same letter names? There was like 5 or 6 characters in the beginning with the same letter names and boy was that annoying, it's a pet peeve of mine....

The two things that stood out the most to me about this book were its originality, and the fact that it was a book that never lost my attention – twisting and turning and constantly surprising. I really liked how the book started with the main character, Reese, as a young adult just starting to figure out that the world around her wasn’t what she thought it was, and she herself had a bigger part in what was going on in this hidden world – whether she wanted to or not. We see the story through her eyes; confused when she is, and coming to understandings of what huge things are going on in this world and who are involved, along with her.

This book is also very original in its entire creation – other worlds, creatures, and step by step what each character’s involvement is. It’s really hard to guess what will happen next when you’ve never read any books before with this type of creature, because you have no idea what it’s capable of, and you find yourself just as nervous and scared as Reese is as she comes across these creatures and hurdles in her own personal life. It’s also very realistic in the fact that someone her age wouldn’t necessarily jump into some creature fighting roll, and be super excited about it. She questions the entire thing frequently, and how much she’d rather not know all she knows, and go back to having fun and partying with her friends. I think that’s much more realistic of how most girls her age would react, rather than some stories, where they jump right into their “duty” without looking back.

This book was a truly enjoyable escape, which I enjoyed every moment of, and jumped right into the next book, because although it wasn’t technically a heavy cliffhanger, it was set up perfectly for you to be dying to find out what’s next! I definitely highly recommend this book!

Book 1 in the Realms of Darkness Series

Reese is an ordinary college girl hanging out with her friends and her boyfriend, Wheeler. One night when they are partying at Wheelers place they meet his best friend Derek and than trouble finds them. Men dressed in black and packed with weapons turn up and not long after they're battling this massive beast that destroys the trailer and try's to kill everyone else. Reese gets hit by a dart from another creature and before she blacks out her neighbour Fuzz turns up and injects her with an antidote, telling her she'll be one of them soon. Before long her and her friends are all part of a top secret training facility to battle creatures like the one they saw that night.

Reese and her teacher Steele hit it off straight away with chemistry a plenty but nothing can happen because of the rules. Can Reese live up to the expectations of their trainer and will she get a chance with Steele? And what does Derek have to do with all these creatures and the trouble finding them?

I gave this book 4 stars, the writing is amazing. The characters pop out of the book at you and it's action packed from start to cliffhanger ending. The only problem I had was that Reese seemed to accept the new world around her and the creatures a little too easily, yes there was some fear there but there wasn't as much as I would expect from someone going from a normal world to one that contains all sorts of monsters. Over all a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat, what's going to happen next read.

4 fangs

The book follows Reese Salt and her friends in Jackson Alabama. What starts as a normal night at a party with friends Reese, Shayla, Savannah and Reese's boyfriend Wheeler quickly turned in to chaos when a monster attacks the trailer they are in. Reese's neighbor Fuzz and a group of his friends show up and take out the monster. Wheeler is a jerk but Reese gives him another chance and agrees to go away with him. While in a jealous rage Wheeler beats her up and about that time more monsters attack. As Wheeler and Reese are running to get away, Wheeler tells her to save herself and then at the last minute tries to throw her back and laughs that he really isn't going to die for her. Reese kicks his butt and then the monsters attack Wheeler.

Getting in touch with Fuzz he explains why she feels like her life isn't what she thinks it is. He begins to train Reese and her friends to fight monsters. They met the men that are going to train them and Reese gets to know Steele.

I enjoyed the story line of the book. The characters have depth to them. Even thought they seem like a bunch of party girls they are pretty strong women and take care of things. Reese is a little whishy washy in the men department, but she starts to get it together by the end. The book has a major cliffhanger at the end so I am hoping the second part comes out soon. Looking forward to see what happens with this group of monster hunters.

Great read for any lovers of paranormal, sci-fi and romance.

Unveiled (Realms of Darkness) by R.S Broadhead
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review for the Beautifully Broken Book Blog.
I started this book without even reading the synopsis and was very surprised at the book, and more importantly surprised that I LOVED the book. It was weird, it was eclectic, it was nothing like 95% of books out there today really and I found that so refreshing! Our main character Reese is a typical twenty something with a love of partying with her friends, who are great supporting characters, but at a party one night all went to hell in a hand basket in the blink of an eye. She finds out her neighbor Fuzz is a leader of a group of warriors who basically are in charge of fighting all those things that go “thump” in the night. It’s that night that Reese and her friends lives are changed forever. They all have a special talent which Fuzz and his merry men will train and hone on each of the girls making them effective weapons against the monsters of this world as well. Reese started out as a character that while she had good character development, she was portrayed as someone without an overly strong backbone, which tends to turn me off of a book. However through training and her friend/love interest? Steele she becomes stronger and comes into her own as someone you can believe in and respect. What I didn’t like about this book….CLIFFHANGER!!! HOLY Cliffhanger!!!! This book is VERY hard to really explain, you need to experience it for yourself really and it is very much well worth the read. Ms Broadhead I commend you, and if we could just have that second book now that would be great mmmmmmkay?

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Reese Salt and her friends want to spend their summer break partying and hanging out with hot guys, but one night their whole world changes when they find out that monsters are real and for Reese the shocks just keep coming. Her boyfriend goes crazy while they are on a romantic get-away, the monsters seem to be drawn to her, her neighbor turns out to be the leader of a secret training program and wants to train her and her friends to fight the evil invading her town.

nveiled is book one in the Realms of Darkness Series. With the main character Reese Salt and her best friends Shayla Axe and Savannah Bliss, five other friends, boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, trainers, bad guys and assorted other characters there is a lot going on in this book. It might feel like there is a lot coming at you in the beginning but it is totally worth it!!!

Reese and Shayla come a long way in this book from clothing obsessed party girls to kick ass warriors. Thankfully Shayla doesn't lose her awesome personality. She has a mouth worse than a sailor's, she is a bit sex crazed and a flair for interior decorating. I loved her. She is exactly what Reese needs as she tries to figure out what her role in saving the world is supposed to be and if she can do it.

The action kicks into high gear towards the end and I couldn't put it down until I finished. I will warn you there is a major cliffhanger at the end but the good news is book 2 (Reckoning) is already out.

I am hooked. Unveiled made me laugh, rant like a lunatic and fan myself over Oliver Steele.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review

Unveiled is a very original story with a storyline that drew me in slowly and once I was invested in the characters, did not let me go. The author did an amazing job creating character that were three dimensional, had issues not unlike our own and had their own personalities that shined through. While this book had a slow start, once it got going, I was hooked!

Unveiled made me laugh, shocked the mess out of me with some of the directions the story took, made me want to cry, and cheer for the H/h. I loved the romance in this book and the tasteful way she wrote the sex scenes. They were hot and steamy without being vulgar.

The author wrote the settings with such vivid detail, I could see it as I was reading it. Not only did she write the settings with detail, she went into detail about what teens and college aged students do in their downtime in Alabama: mud spinning, and riding the dirt roads. Although the characters' use of slang words made the me remember that the characters are indeed young adults, the amount of slang they used put me thinking that these were high-school freshmen or juniors and not college seniors. It also made the characters seem a little less mature than I would expect a college senior to be.

Overall, I felt this book was well written, engaging, and kept my interest throughout. I am definitely looking forward to reading the second installment in this series. Four delightful, pleasantly surprised, butt-kicking stars

**We were gifted a copy from the author**

Reese is a 21 year old college student who loves to party with her friends Shayla and Savannah. Her boyfriend Wheeler is a jerk and is always getting mad and yelling at her. One night at a party weird things start to happen and her neighbor and his friends show up to help and gives her his number in case she needs him. No one remembers anything but Reese and her Friends.

Trying to forget everything that happens Reese goes with Wheeler to make up for him acting like a ass, but of course his jealousy gets in the way again and beats Reese up and knocks her out. After waking up she sees they are being attacked by the unknown and Wheeler leaves her to die. She calls Fuzz for help.

Fuzz helps her learn that her life isn't what it seems...there are monsters out there and she needs to help take them down. While training she meets Steele and starts to have feelings for him but she's scared to open up and Steele doesn't know what he wants one minute hes being romantic and the next he's treating her like a sister.

Can Reese open up her heart? Can she get threw the training and learn how to take out these monsters?
I was captured from the very beginning of this book. Every time I thought I had it figured out I was wrong, it definitely left me on the edge of my seat! I'm really looking forward to more and I highly recommend this book!!!

I was asked to read this book in return for an Honest review, so here it is!
Unveiled grabbed me from the very first word and refused to let me go until I was finished! Set in rural Jackson, Alabama (real place) gives the book a feel of true southern for a contemporary plot! Miss Reese is the main character who's friends like her and they like to party seeing there is not much else to do there in rural Jackson.  Great Characters that I believe everyone will be able to relate to and the weirdness of the book with the creatures is a dead on ringer for me!
Reese is a 21 year-old college student who likes to party with her friends. Her boyfriend wheeler is a straight up jerk and he seems to be always getting angry with Reese. At a party one night weird and crazy things happen, the neighbors lend a hand and no one remembers anything but Reese and her friends.
Wheeler tries to make up for his shortcomings and takes Reese out, but those kinda guys never change and he gets angry with her so he beats her up and knocks her out! When Reese comes too she finds that they are being attacked by the weird and crazy and Wheeler leaves her to die!
Reese calls the police and she learns that her life is about to completely change and her help is needed to destroy the unknown!
Love and Loss, action and Suspense! I recommend this read to anyone! I can't wait for the next installment!

2.5 STARS.

Living in the quiet little town of Jackson, Alabama, Reese Salt always looked forward to the weekends where the only option was to find a party to go out and have fun at with her best friends and her boyfriend.

But then one night everything changes at a party when a team of commandos swoops in from the trees and saves them from an abomination that could only be imagined. Poisoned, Reese can barely remember anything from the night and the news has covered it as a gas explosion that rocked the area.

Reese’s boyfriend then offers to take her away for a few days when pandemonium breaks loose and the world as we know is seemingly taken over by creatures that kill everything in their sight. With what appears to be untapped powers, Reese escapes with her life and joins her neighbour and his band of men to begin training to combat what is happening in the world.

It has a lot of potential with a good plot, however this book unfortunately loses me in the way the characters speak to each other and behave. It feels more like a frat party than people training to survive the new world.

This is the story of Reese Salt and her figurative tumble down the rabbit hole. See one day she was a normal 20 year old hanging out with her friends, going to college and spending time with her boyfriend. Then one night at a party some really weird crap happens and she learns that the things that go bump in the night are real and she will be trained to fight them! How kick ass is that?
She and her friends get swept up by a group of commando type guys, lead by her neighbor Fuzz and the smoking hot Steele, to train and develop their own specialized skillset. It doesn’t take long for Reese to figure out that she was born to kick ass!
For the most part I enjoyed this story. I felt that there were parts of the book that could have been left out and it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference. But then at the very end the author tied those odd parts in. So I guess that made it a better read than I thought as I was reading along. I was a bit put off by some of the dialog. Not the cuss words, that doesn’t bother me. But the way the “young talk” sounded kind of forced. I don’t know maybe it was just me, but I thought they sounded like they were trying too hard.
Anyway It was good and I’m going to give it 3 stars, but it didn’t leave me with the desire to continue the series.

Unveiled by R.S. Broadhead is a NA paranormal suspense. The story follows Reese and her friends as they discover the unveiled world and that monsters do exist.
The story had a lot of action and excitement. There was also a lot of sexual tension and romance. The characters were fun and interesting. There were a lot of important secondary characters and sometimes it was hard to remember each character and his/her specific skill and quality. But overall, the characters worked (and played) well together and blended well as a team.
Reese was a great heroine. She was strong and could kick ass, but she also was scared at times. Steele was so hot & sexy and he meshed perfectly with Reese. Shayla was such a fun character and when she paired with Jace it was a great match.
I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

great start to this series , Reese & her friends are normal everyday 20 somethings when life takes an unexpected turn . first they meet a group of seriously hot men armed to the teeth, then they find out that monsters are real & that they need to train to fight them . led by fuzz , who has been Reese neighbour, they all find they have an individual talent whether its for martial arts , guns or explosives , all are surprisingly quick learners & are less freaked out by all the changes in their lives than they should be .an intriguing story with some flash backs & bits of humour that make this a good read . can't wait to get onto book 2

At the beginning it was just all over the place, but as the story progresses you start understanding why. I didn't like the love story for the main character. It was just too generic. It kept me hooked because there were so many characters that had special abilities and I wanted to see how the fighting ended up. It was entertaining. There were a lot of funny parts. The language was kept real for the ages of the characters. The ending was good for a set up leading into the second book. I look forward to reading book 2.

I recieved this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

If you are looking for a book that has a little bit of everything, then this is a good choice for you. Unveiled comes with action, romance, comedy, hot characters, monsters, and more. Follow Reese and her friends as they learn about the monsters that live amongst them and train to protect others. Though this sounds like your generic paranormal/monster book it is not. I repeat this is not Twilight or similar books. This is a well-written, kick ass adventure that you will not be able to put down.

I received this book through the goodreads first reads program.
This was not my cup of tea. I never knew that lack of page numbers would bother me, but I was annoyed by it from the start. There were grammatical and plot errors. There were characters that suddenly appeared with no introduction or back story and I was supposed to know how that person was important. It did get more interesting as I read, but was ultimately too rife with errors to ignore. A little more editing and polishing would be highly beneficial.
