One word: “Sounding” guys!!! Please insert hallelujah gif here! 😂 OMG! I loved this one. ❤️ I think this is my very first hermaphrodite book because one of the MCs in this story is one. Let me tell you! Sekka is just precious! 🥰
Sekka is the last one left of his house and bloodline. The prince of a fallen country who’s now running away pretending to be his late sister, the crown princess, the poor boy has the weight of the whole world on his shoulders. If the enemy captures him and discovers that he’s actually the prince and not the crown princess and moreover when they found out the darkest, biggest secret of his life, him being a man and a woman at the same time, death wouldn’t save him from the dishonor he’ll receive. When he was captured by the very enemy who eradicated his bloodline and his country, Sekka has completely lost hope. And when the brute king Kishoh summoned him to serve him as his woman, what should Sekka do? What will happen to him when the enemy king find out he’s not the crown princess and a hermaphrodite?
A genuine enemies to lovers tripe, double GFY, popping the butt cherry and deflowering plus insanely hot and kinky sex, lets just say Shin is one extremely happy reader! Lol 😂 The heat level of this book is like 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Damn! Just damn! But this is not all about sex. Has a very solid backstory and an interesting world building. Plus it’s romantic. A bloodthirsty king falling for his captured prince, it was swoon worthy. Loved it! 😘

Whew, what a read! Super-steamy with some palace betrayal thrown in amidst the hot nsfw scenes. I'm an easy gal to please, 3.5 stars for this.

I liked this book a lot... it was such an unexpected gem. ❤
I'm a sucker for well written gfy tropes, and this hit all the right notes for me especially with the enemies-to-lovers shindig.
I really liked Sekka, I felt like his transition was believable. I liked being on his journey with him, experiencing his turmoil and his emotions, from one spectrum to the next. He felt well fleshed out. But I especially liked the end when he was honest with himself about what he wants in relation to his mother's wishes for him. I'm glad the author didn't glaze over it, but instead allowed us to see his thought process.
I liked Sekka with Kishoh. I thought when they got the thorns ironed out and began to build something, it was beautiful. I loved what he did for Kishoh, the softer side he brought out in him, that was precious to see, especially the scene with the fireflies. I think the impact was so profound because of who Kishoh was, or at least the impression we have of him, of a brash, immovable man, ice-cold and closed off from everyone. At times he seemed so harsh as to be irredeemable, but then the author gave us glimpses of why he makes the decisions that he does, which I guess on some level makes some of them a tad more palatable. I feel like given time, Sekka will teach him compassion which he sorely needs.

My only niggle is we didn't get to know enough of Kishoh. I leave the end knowing he lived a hard life, which turned him into a hard man... but that's about it! I would have liked to know more.

Summary: Sekka's kingdom is about to be invaded and his mother tasked him to survive and restore the kingdom no matter what. Sekka had been disguising himself as his dead older sister and he gets immediately captured and then soon joyfully yet nonconsenually debauched by the ruler of the invading kingdom. Love eventually ensues.

Rating: 4/5- For a shorter than normal story, it was well written and the characters had enough time to grow without the story being overdone or boring.
I found it interesting and the smut was pretty good without overshadowing a decent plot.
It’s a well written story and the dynamics with the characters don’t feel forced. I had a good time reading this.
