Первая половина книги реально вгоняет в депрессию. Ситуация, в которой оказалась Лара, просто ужасна. Она под полным контролем ее собственного злого гения, Рекса Монтгомери, брата-близнеца ее отчима и главного подручного сенатора Патрисии Джеймс. Ее держат в секретной лаборатории агентства "Перемотка", где при помощи погружения в виртуальную реальность целенаправленно психологически "ломают": то заставляют наблюдать, как один за другим погибают все, кто ей дорог, то наоборот создают для нее идеальную картинку, идеальную семью, идеальную жизнь... а потом выдергивают в реальность, где она лежит, привязанная к кровати, в стеклянном кубе, подключенная к компьютерам. В реальности все мрачно до невозможности: ее любимый, Донован, убит, ее отец погиб при попытке бегства из тюрьмы, маме Рекс полностью стер память, заменив ее другими воспоминаниями, и она совсем не помнит ни Лару, ни остальных членов семьи, близнецы похищены, и Рекс где-то тоже держит их в плену, как, скорее всего, и своего брата Джекса. И так продолжается долгих два года. Поскольку описывается это все от первого лица, и язык очень простой, иногда словно просто констатирующий все эти ужасы вокруг... Честно говоря, в какой-то момент я даже заплакала, настолько это угнетает.
Я уж думала, так будет почти до конца книги, но Ларе удалось освободиться в середине повествования, и она возвращается на два года назад, в день, когда похитили ее малышку-сестру, чтобы попытаться все изменить и не попасться снова в лапы сенатору Джеймс и Рексу Монтгомери. А дальше опять начинается экшн, с погонями, стрельбой и прыжками во времени. И снова все зависит только от Лары и ее способностей и силы духа.

Wow, this book was amazing! Very rarely do I give five stars to a book, but this book is so worthy of them, every single one of them.
The book picks up where The first left off, sort of. Lara has been captured, and is now a prisoner of the Rewind Agency. She is a prisoner in her own mind, as well, as they have her plugged into a virtual reality where she can't tell what is real and what isn't. Escape is almost impossible, but she tries.
Lara becomes a more amazing character as the series progresses. She's strong, not whiny, and goes after the future that she wants. At first I wasn't quite sure how I felt about the romance between her and Donovan, but it's grown on me. This whole reality with her mother and her step-father and siblings have grown on me.
Donovan is sweet, and strong in his own way, as he doesn't completely flip out and call her crazy for saying she's a time traveller. He puts up with a lot, and its only his love for her that allows him to continue to believe in her up until the very end.
Do you have to read this book? Yes, but you have to read this whole series!

Wow... I didn't know Jill cooper could make this story even more amazing and intriguing... But she did. Book 2 Plugged, is full of so much action and emotion. Lara is still trying to fix the changes she made with time travel. To right the wrongs.... What happens each time she time travels, some good and some bad. Who's to say the outcome is what was meant to be, but I'd like to think so. The trouble time travel causes ... To alll future events is crazy to even imagine. A must read. Thank you for the chance to review an advanced copy... Please Ms. cooper... Keep writing....

This was a good read but I'm not sure I liked how she handled the boyfriend situation. She made Rick a poor opportunist and Don the rich savior. Even without Lara in his life I doubt Rick would do something like that. I kept waiting for some sort of justification but it never came. Everything fell neatly into the happily ever after box.
Other than that one complaint though it was a good book.

Ho aspettato con ansia questo volume, con un'aspettativa così alta che rischiava d'essere delusa; invece eccomi qua a trascrivere tutte le emozioni intense che mi ha lasciato.
"The Rewind Agency" ha conquistato su Universi Incantati una tripletta di voti a cinque stelle, per cui ho avuto la conferma che l'autrice Jill Cooper ci sa fare: non le sfugge nulla né a livello di trama né a livello di sentimenti, prendendosene cura in ogni variazione.
Dopo aver assistito Lara Crane salvare sua madre dall'omicidio, e averla seguita alle prese con la sua nuova realtà in "Quindici Minuti" (QUI), dopo aver curiosato con gli occhi dell'allora fidanzato Rick e del padre John, rimasto vedovo, nella linea temporale che lei ha lasciato con lo spin-off "Rewind" (QUI), "Plugged" inizia mostrandoci una Lara che stavolta non ha perso solo la madre, ma ha perso l'intera famiglia; rischia di perdere persino se stessa. E' tenuta prigioniera dagli sgherri di Patricia James, costantemente monitorata dallo zio Rex e continuamente sottoposta agli esperimenti di una realtà virtuale che la confonde e la destabilizza, al punto tale da non riuscire più a distinguere la verità dalla finzione, soprattutto perché la finzione è molto più attraente della realtà, e sarebbe una dolce arresa rifugiarsi in quel mondo felice, nonostante sia pieno di menzogne. La Rewind Agency studia i suoi comportamenti, mira a scoprire quella sua dote naturale di viaggiare nel tempo e interagire col passato: la senatrice vuole creare altri viaggiatori nel tempo come lei, ambisce al potere, perché chi controlla il passato controlla anche il futuro, e intanto hanno scoperto come modificare i ricordi delle persone...
La Rewind Agency tiene in pugno Lara facendo leva sui suoi sentimenti e i legami familiari, ed è così che l'autrice tiene in pugno il lettore, perché quando si tratta di famiglia è difficile rimanere impassibili, diventa più coinvolgente rispetto a una storia d'amore tra ragazzi perché l'amore giovanile può ricordarci un momento della nostra vita, ma l'affetto familiare non si dimentica mai ed è costante. Questo volume coinvolge maggiormente Lara e il suo ragazzo Donovan più di quanto sia stato fatto prima, ma gli eventi drammatici lo hanno reso un amore maturo, non più una storiella young adult. Lara è cresciuta di due anni, ha un bagaglio d'esperienza superiore rispetto alle sue coetanee e si comporta come la migliore delle sorelle maggiori con i gemelli Molly e Mike; quasi ci si dimentica che si tratti di una protagonista diciottenne... fino a che manifesta l'amore per la madre e il padre, un sentimento così primordiale, genuino ed estremamente necessario, che Lara sembra tornare bambina; vederla così, a me personalmente, ogni volta scioglie il cuore.
Non conosco molti libri che pongono al centro della storia l'amore per la famiglia, o almeno, non me ne viene in mente nessuno, anzi, spesso gli eroi sono orfani e vivono la loro avventura di formazione solitaria, qui invece abbiamo Lara che vive una stramaledetta avventura per salvare la sua famiglia; è l'eroina a cui non importano le sorti del mondo perché il suo mondo è la sua famiglia allargata, e vuole salvarla a tutti i costi.
Questo libro è ancor più drammatico del precedente: specie all'inizio, fino alla prima metà, pervade un'atmosfera cupa di solitudine e abbandono, non solo degli affetti ma anche della speranza; prigionia e torture emotive/psicologiche sono capaci di ferire infinitamente più delle percosse, ma la lettura comincia da un abisso profondo per poi risollevarsi gradualmente, assieme a Lara e alla sua ingegnosa lotta, e come speravo, non saranno poche le scene alla "Ritorno al Futuro" con due Lara nello stesso luogo! Sia chiaro, però, che la lettura non abbassa mai il livello di tensione: basta una piccola svista, un dettaglio lasciato indietro, un imprevisto... il pericolo si nasconde dietro ogni pagina e l'insicurezza regna sovrana. Del resto, i nemici con cui Lara deve combattere sono tanti e lei è sola... oppure no?
"Raccolgo il dono. E' avvolto da una carta porpora scintillante con un fiocco nero. La targhetta dice che è da parte di un'amica. Un'amica. Strappo la carta e sollevo il coperchio. All'interno della scatola vedo una parrucca porpora con una frangetta tagliata.
Sotto c'è un bigliettino.

Non solo i sentimenti, anche le scene sono gestite alla perfezione: è automatico immaginare il mondo attraverso gli occhi della protagonista e sono fantastiche le varie fasi in cui lei si materializza in un altro tempo e luogo, per non parlare dell'aurea magica che si percepisce quando c'è più di una Lara. Verso il finale torna l'azione mozzafiato che ricordavo nei precedenti volumi, con tanto d'inseguimenti e corse degne dei migliori film adrenalinici! Impossibile staccarsi dalla lettura.
Anche questa volta non ho potuto fare a meno di esclamare "noooooo!" davanti a certe sorprese, a sbalordirmi osservando come mutano i comportamenti dei vari personaggi quando si trovano in determinate situazioni, in base al proprio bagaglio emotivo e a quello che hanno vissuto fino a quel momento (perché cambiano da una linea temporale a un'altra: è incredibile!), e non sono di certo riuscita a frenare la commozione con Lara per cui ho ormai un'empatia consolidata.
Stile di scrittura scorrevole e avvincente, cura nei dettagli, scene da film, rapporti toccanti, risvolti inaspettati... cosa volere di più?
L'epilogo si conclude nel migliore dei modi ma la serie mi ha abituata a riconoscere che non è ancora giunto il momento di rilassarsi, così, da fan sfegatata, dipendo dall'arrivo della prossima e ultima avventura.
Consigliato ai lettori giovani e adulti appassionati dei travel time, in cerca di avventure che sanno ben mischiare il thriller psicologico all'azione, con quella buona dose d'amore universalmente riconosciuto.
Non è una lettura impegnativa, 250 pagine intense e mai noiose: vi coinvolgerà come una serie tv!

Lara Crane è bloccata nella sua mente, in un flusso di linee temporali dove la sua vita è perfetta, proprio come l’ha sempre desiderata. Ma non è reale. È stato tutto creato da coloro che vogliono usare i viaggi nel tempo per le loro ambizioni personali. Per portare a compimento i loro esperimenti e trasformarla in una mortale assassina temporale. Se Lara vuole sopravvivere e fermarli, dovrà rischiare di perdere la sua mente e la sua anima, e uscire da una prigione talmente perfetta da realizzare l’unico sogno che abbia mai avuto.
Recensione:
Lara è sempre Lara: spavalda, intraprendente, fin troppo impulsiva, tanto legata alle persone che fanno parte della sua vita da non volersene privare neanche quando il destino decide altrimenti. Ma il destino è un concetto variabile per chi può tornare indietro nel tempo e cambiare ogni volta le carte in tavola. Solo che quando si cambia il passato si incasinano sempre le cose. Solo che prevedere gli effetti delle proprie azioni non è così banale. Solo che non si deve lottare soltanto contro il tempo e il destino, ma anche contro la Rewind Agency, contro la senatrice Patricia, il suo tirapiedi Rex e tutti gli scagnozzi a loro disposizione. Forse perdere era inevitabile ed è per questo che, nonostante tutti gli sforzi di alterare il passato, Lara si trova in mano ai suoi nemici, chiusa in un laboratorio a fare da cavia per i loro esperimenti sui viaggi nel tempo.
Esperimenti e torture hanno però il viso adorato delle persone care, l'attrattiva della vita perfetta, il gusto dolce dei sogni realizzati: relegata in una realtà virtuale in cui ha tutto ciò che ha sempre desiderato, diventa difficile per Lara scegliere la verità di una vita da prigioniera, in cui il suo corpo e la sua mente vengono violati, il suo fidanzato giace morto in un vicolo e la sua famiglia è in pericolo. Meglio non tornare in quel presente. Meglio abbandonarsi alle illusioni di Rex. Ma anche se volesse scegliere diversamente come potrebbe riconoscere ciò che è reale e ciò che non lo è? Una volta a guidarla tra realtà e finzione c'erano le lancette degli orologi che nella simulazione giravano al contrario, ma ormai la Rewind ha sistemato anche quel particolare. Come se non bastasse, i suoi nemici hanno trovato il modo di manipolare i ricordi delle persone e questo rende tutto ancora più complicato.
Ma Lara è sempre Lara. Può cambiare la realtà intorno a lei. Possono cambiare le sue scelte. Può cambiare il suo aspetto. Può cambiare persino il suo nome: Lara Craine, Lara Montgomery, Lara James. Ma non cambia la capacità con cui questa ragazzina muove la storia e gli eventi, tenendo gli altri personaggi e il lettore stesso in orbita attorno a lei.
Il ritmo è serrato, i salti temporali ancora più frequenti che nel libro precedente: tra passato, presente, futuro, reale e virtuale, si sale su una giostra da cui il mondo appare in continuo stravolgimento. E nel romanzo tutto è volto a rendere questa giostra sempre più divertente, a farla girare a tutta velocità per vedere fin dove ci si può spingere: la scrittura rimane semplice e senza troppi artifizi, come a non voler prendere la scena al ritmo e alla trama, e i personaggi secondari mettono da parte la profondità che pure a tratti dimostrano di avere per lasciare spazio a quella di Lara, protagonista indiscussa della storia. Ne viene fuori un romanzo d'avventura. Un'avventura adrenalinica, entusiasmante, di quelle che ti lasciano senza fiato per il troppo correre.

Il ritmo è serrato, i salti temporali ancora più frequenti che nel libro precedente: tra passato, presente, futuro, reale e virtuale, si sale su una giostra da cui il mondo appare in continuo stravolgimento. E nel romanzo tutto è volto a rendere questa giostra sempre più divertente, a farla girare a tutta velocità per vedere fin dove ci si può spingere: la scrittura rimane semplice e senza troppi artifizi, come a non voler prendere la scena al ritmo e alla trama, e i personaggi secondari mettono da parte la profondità che pure a tratti dimostrano di avere per lasciare spazio a quella di Lara, protagonista indiscussa della storia. Ne viene fuori un romanzo d'avventura. Un'avventura adrenalinica, entusiasmante, di quelle che ti lasciano senza fiato per il troppo correre.

Entrambi stanno facendo di tutto per trasformarla nell’assassina perfetta. Lara può viaggiare nel tempo senza alcun effetto collaterale e può modificare il passato, interagendo con tutto; perfetta per lo scopo, Lara, però, è una tipa tosta e, per indurla a fare quello che vuole lo zio, vive in due realtà distinte. La prima è quella creata ad hoc per lei nella sua testa, dove vive una vita fatta di ciò che la fa stare bene: la sua famiglia, il suo ragazzo, tutto.

This is the second book in the Rewind Agency series and I didn’t think it was anywhere near the quality of the first book although I didn’t mind reading it.
This time around (no pun intended) Lara is continually going back into the past to try and fix things, and at times it did get a little confusing with multiple Lara’s and the replaying of events in different ways until Lara was satisfied with the outcome. Trying to work out what was reality and what were made up memories was sometimes difficult.
Villains abound in this story and there were a few heartfelt moments when Lara is held captive against her will and forced to time travel for evil purposes. Her family are also caught up in it in different ways and Lara tries to save them all.
There is action and drama and twists and turns so the book did hold my interest along the way, although I was a little disappointed with the Rick and Donovan situation and somewhat annoyed by so many proofreading errors in this book.
There was a lot going on in this second instalment, and even though it wasn’t quite as clear cut with all the diving back in time as it was in book one, I still liked this book although not as much as the first one. I was happy how it all tied up at the end and I am still intrigued as to where the story will go next, so now it’s on to Book 3, the conclusion to the series.

Avevamo lasciato Lara alla sua realtà virtuale ed è proprio così che la ritroveremo in questo secondo volume che si svolge principalmente tra le mura di una clinica segreta della Rewind dove ritroveremo tutti i personaggi che abbiamo incontrato nel precedente romanzo. Il romanzo che ci viene presentato è molto diverso da quello precedente che è stato una specie di prologo agli avvenimenti dolorosi descritti in questo volume.
In questo volume la trama continua a complicarsi e tra viaggi nel tempo, dolore e realtà virtuali la mente di Lara sarà sempre più compromessa ma mai distratta dal suo obiettivo, riportare la sua realtà alla normalità.

What's the point?
I enjoyed book 1, although all the VR in the last few chapters was very confusing. But right from the beginning of this book, I'm reading page after page that's not even real, so what's the point in reading it? None, so I've removed the download!
This was a good story that should have been covered within 1 good long book, all the VR stuff is just padding to extend it into a series. But that 'padding' makes it unreadable.

This book was loaded with suspense and was great. I found myself so into the characters and story that I had a difficult reading portions dealing with captivity, mistreatment and Virtual Reality. It was hard to keep track of Reality at times. It really picks up towards the end and plays out well with a good ending.

This is a 3.5 rounded up to a 4. I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the first one. However, I did like the fact that there is an "ending" although the series continues. I don't really want to read whole series as the beginning of book 3 looks like it will be more of the same (it's included at the end of book 2) - just a different group wanting to use her.

I liked the concept and enjoyed book 1, but I lost interest in book 2. It was too repetitive and the story wasn’t progressing fast enough.

After reading the first in the series, 15 minutes, I couldn't wait to read the other 2. I was so hooked I literally could not put the book down.

It had been awhile since I had read 15 Minutes, the first book in the Rewind series, so I went back and re-read it before I started Plugged. Yes, I am a serial reader. First off, I forgot just how AMAZING 15 Minutes was. I am NOT, repeat NOT a Young Adult book lover. I have exceptions though and the Rewind Series is one of them. I actually think it’s a travesty that this series isn’t already a tv series or miniseries. There is so much mindless junk on tv, I would love to see something like this – intelligent and intriguing.
Anyway. Lara is even more kick-ass in Plugged. Two years have passed since the end of Book 1 and Lara is 18. She’s jaded, worn down and basically has anger coming out her pores. She’s pretty much lost everything and is having a hard time figuring out what is real and what Rex is manipulating her to see. Her biggest problem? Does she care. It’s so much easier in her virtual world. I love Lara’s determination, her drive and how strong she is. I would like to think I would be the same if anyone dared to mess with my family. My favorite part of the authors writing is that she paints a vivid picture for me. I am from the Boston area and the author takes note of actual landmarks and references that snap me right back and I can actually visualize where Lara is and how it would look from her perspective. It’s beyond awesome. I can’t wait for the third book and a little birdie told me (ok I saw it on her Facebook page) that she is knee deep in writing the next book. I can’t wait to see what is next for Lara and Donovan. They are truly my new favorite literary couple.

This series was amazing! I loved every second of it… I read the first book 15 Minutes and it was action packed from the get go. I think Ms. Jill Cooper did an amazing job at bringing the reader into the story, I related with all the characters and I loved loved loved Lara and Donovan.
Just a quick recap of 15 Minutes: Lara’s mother died when she was young so she decided to go back in time through the Rewind agency to save her mother from that fate only to come back in an alternate future that is completely messed up. That’s where all of her troubles start.
Now on to Plugged: Lara is caught she is trapped in a fantasy? In a prison? She can’t tell which way is up sometimes all she knows is that everything is wrong and all of her family is in trouble the longer she stays in this in this alternate reality. She has to escape and try to fix the mess she has made by her one action of changing the past. Only it’s not going to be easy, with the powers that be breathing down her neck she can’t get a minute to even think about escaping.
The love story between Lara and Donavon is so sweet…. It’s sigh worthy. Ahhhh what a sweet guy and she is so super awesome she totally deserves him. She isn’t one of those winey annoying girls, she made mistakes and she fixed them. I loved Lara.
I give this book 5 stars yeah it was that good…. You seriously need to read this! It was a time travel, kickbutt, romance that needs to be on your TBR list. I rate it G or PG no sexual nono’s and maybe one cuss word…. Go get this though!!!! Seriously!! You wont be sorry….

Another good book in the series. Distinguishing the different timelines is hard when Lara keeps being forced to travel and all she has are clocks to know if she is in the right timeline. She has guidance of herself telling her some of the things to do, but she also needs to think for herself because what she does/did does not work. Being forced to travel and become an assassin while her family are held captive and experimented on just like she is. She needs to do things she never did before and take steps to ensure things go back to the alternate timeline she first entered by saving her mom. She wants that timeline where she has it all and things are happy, the way it was when she first arrived. Who would not want to be in a timeline where things are somewhat happy? She has a brother and sister, a step-dad, her bio dad, her boyfriend who is always on her side no matter what time or reality she is in, expensive lifestyle. People who want to help her fix the mess that Patricia James caused. It is better than what she had in the original timeline, except she does not have Rick.

This is the action packed 2nd installment of the Rewind Agency trilogy. Trapped by her evil uncle Rex and his cohort U.S. Senator Patricia James the actually more evil mother of her boyfriend Donovan, Lara is forced to live out episodes of a perfect life in virtual reality. Rex uses these episodes as a "carrot on a stick" to get Lara to perform time travel experiments for him and Patricia so they can study her brain patterns in an effort to create other people who can travel without the use of instrumentation. They want to turn them into a team of assassins who can be sent anywhere and anywhen to do their bidding.
Lara is determined to bread free of this vicious gang and restore sanity and reality to her existence, rescue her family, get her biological father out of jail and somehow manage to do it in sucb a way that Donovan will still be with her. This is the 2nd book in a series. You need to read the first book to not be lost.
It picks up with Lara being a prisoner. They have her trapped in this virtual reality world where she can not tell the difference between real and fake.
I love that she is such a strong character. No matter what happens she doesn't whine about everything. She knows that if she wants something she has to go get it herself.
The characters really keep developing well. Donovan is such a great romance interest. Takes some time to get used to him but they are great together.

Lara is in a horrible place, held in a box and experiments run with her without a end in sight, Lara can time travel and ever since they found out, they use her against her will. Only way to get away from it, is giving in into their demands, something Lara doesn't want to, but she has no choice. if she wants to get away from all of that and get justice.....

I had a hard time rating this. I wanted to give it a 5 but some of the stuff was REALLY difficult to read, specifically what happened in the VR world. I didn't like that AT ALL and I wish the author hadn't done that.
Other than that, such a great book. A great time travel / virtual reality series with mostly good characters. I loved Lara and Donovan and hated Rex, which is how it should be. Can't wait to read the next!

This book was full of proofreading errors, but overall I quite enjoyed it.
What I didn't really like was how poor Rick has basically been all but forgotten. Lara feels horrible about how her father has been stuck in jail, but what about the boyfriend she left behind. To me, it feels fake with Donovan. We only got two seconds of her being with Rick but I feel like, since that was the original way things were, that it's how it should be.

Go Lara, I can’t believe this!! this sequel was fantastic. Action packed, fast paced, emotions all over the place, talking to myself check, check check.
This was even better than the first book, I love Lara she is an example of how I like my female lead characters.
I can’t wait to read the next book.
