This book ended up being so much better than I expected. I had my doubts when I startet on this book, just an other boss and secretary romance, and yes in a way it is, but it is so much more that that. And it had me captivated from the first page, I couldn't put the book down.
First we meet the boss, Bastian Burke, at work he is strict, orderly, polite and he expect his personel to work just as hard as he dos and keep their personel life, well personel. Off work we meet a broken hearted man, that is bitter over his ex-wife that only took him for his money and he tries to drown his sorrows with booze and one night stands.
Then we have Joanna Lind, secretary for the big scary boss, that everybody are afraid of, but her, because she sees him for what he is, a broken man. Joanna is shy, hard working, a people pleaser and well loved in the office. She loves her job, because it gives her an opportunity to get away from her boyfriend of five years Sid, that is a police detective, he is also overprotective, overbearing, controlling, suffocating and she can't break free from him.
One day Joannas only friend convince her to go to a concert Friday night, there she meets Bastian. They talk for a little wail but Bastians date are rude to her and she lives with her friend to go back to enjoy the band. At some point she sees fifteen missed calls and a bunch of texts from Sid and decides to go home. Out side the club, while she waits for an Uber, Sid comes in the police car and manhandels her, that is more than Bastian can handle and tries to stop him. Sid gets so mad that he ends up pulling his gun on Bastian, but Sids partner talks him out of shooting him.
Joanna ends up getting in the car with Sid and Bastian is worried for her all weekend. He gros more worried for her when she is late Monday morning, for her first time while she has worked for him. When she finally comes in, has she bruises under her eye and marks on her neck, and he looses it and convinces her to leave Sid with his help.
And help her he dos, over and beyond, while she helps his broken heart and they both fall even more, than they already were, for each other. The road to their happy ending are full of twist and turns, they have to learn to trust in them selvs and each other, and Sid and Joannas mother do not make it easy for them.
This book is really worth your while and you will not regret buying it.

This book certainly didn't end up by being the story I thought it would be. Let me backtrack a little, I never read the blurb to any of Tia's books as I just automatically jump straight in. But this book had so much going on!!! I thought this would be a story about an office romance (hence the title) but that part is so minute. This story is about Bastian who falls in love with Joanna whilst protecting her from her crazy ex. She also just happens to be his employee.
There is plenty of action and drama in this book. It kept me turning page after page just to find out what was going to happen next.

The book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It’s heartbreaking, beautiful, dramatic, and sexy all at the same time! Joanna is in an abusive relationship. Her boss, Bastian, who always wanted her yet never acted on it took it upon himself and decided to protect her from the sadistic, crazy boyfriend who is also a cop.
Bastian, is in every sense of the word, a hero. He’s a hard worker with high standards for himself and his employees. When Joanna shows up late one day and he sees the bruises, he practically went crazy. They took what they could and left to his home in the outskirts, crossing all professional lines.
This book may cause triggers for some. This is the first book I read where an author addresses an abusive relationship. My heart broke for Joanna in a lot of the scenes.
The storyline has a good pace. It’s romantic, sweet, but it will have wanting to turn the next page, wanting to know what happens next. I love it. I️ can see myself reading it again.

Protected by my Boss - A Billionaire and his Secretary Romance by Tia Siren is a very good read. Hot, sexy and steamy, this well written story is very entertaining. Storyline is engaging and offers drama, romance and suspense. A great read that is very enjoyable. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

Joanna has worked for Bastian Burke for a few months now and she is always so quiet and submissive when it comes to any interaction she has with him. Bastian has always lusted after Joanna and her beautiful curves, but he knows not to mix business with pleasure and she isn't his normal type of woman that he sleeps with anyway. Joanna has a problem and his name is Sid, her super posessive, very abusive, detective boyfriend. Joanna goes to a concert one evening with a girlfriend and while she's out she runs into Bastian her boss. They say hello and all have a drink until the woman Bastian came with shows up at the table and gets all b*tchy. The girls go back to the front to enjoy the band and when Joanna goes to get some water at the bar she notices she's missed a lot of phone calls and texts from Sid. She tells her friend she called an Uber and is going to head home before her boyfriend gets more ticked off at her. As she steps outside Sid pulls up screeching to a halt and jumps out of his car and starts manhandling her towards his car. Bastian is outside as well and is not going to sit back and watch Sid pull Joanna into his car. It all comes to a head when Bastian tells him to leave her alone so Sid pulls his gun on Bastian and tells him to back off. Sid's partner jumps in and tells him to calm down, Bastian tries to tell Joanna she doesn't have to go with Sid but she does just so no one gets hurt. The next day Bastian is pacing his office because Joanna still hasn't shown up or answered any of his calls and she is never late. When she does finally show up its with bruises on her face and neck that she tried concealing with makeup. Bastian is livid, he hates guys who beat up on women. He finally talks Joanna into leaving Sid and letting him help her. Grab this book today to find out what lengths Joanna's crazy boyfriend will go to to get her back. Plus find out what Bastian is willing to do to keep her safe. This is an all out emotional rollercoaster ride and sucks you in from the very first page. It's a definite must read.

I love this book, I didn't want to put it down. Joanna works for a hot boss but her life is anything from perfect. Waiting at home for her everyday is her abusive cop boyfriend who loves nothing more than taking his bad days out on her. Joanna wants to stay at work and never go home because she never knows Sid's moods and what he will do to her. She's tired of hiding the bruises, putting on extra makeup to try and cover them, hoping no one will see and ask questions.
Bastian is hot and has more money than he will ever need. Trying to get over a bad marriage he tries to put all his energy into his company but he has one employee that he knows somethings wrong but he cannot approach her. Joanna is gorgeous, a great worker but she never wants to go home and that's not normal. What do I do? I can't bring up the subject so after over hearing her curse into her phone I make she she knows my door is always open. Why did I do that, I don't want to get involved but for some reason I am drawn to her, she's gorgeous. Word around the office is she's in an abusive relationship, I've seen the bruises, but I also know it's not my business. Still I can't quit thinking about her, so I call her into my office to let her know if she needs help I am there for her all she has to do is ask. Joanna at first doesn't want him to know, what would he think if he knew I am stupid for still staying there but Sid has made it clear that if I leave him he will kill me and my family.
Joanna realizes she can't take anymore and takes Bastian up on his offer for help. Wow, she just thought things were bad, Sid makes her life hell. You have to read the book to find out what happens, does Joanna make it or does Sid hit her one last time. Standing ovation for Tia Siren! The book is amazing. It talks about things that are happening in our society, give us some perspective about them and at the same time entraps you in a sexy romance story.
Bastian is a womanizer but it's just the way to cope from a broken heart that left him many many scars. At work he is just about work but he have a soft place for Joanna, an executive assistant at his company. She is gorgeous and a little shy. He works hard every day to not do something about that attraction. But that is going to change and quickly when he finds out what his lovely Joanna is been through. He will protect her, even from himself.
Joanna love her work, is the only escape from home, from an abusive boyfriend. Also she get to see her boss, Bastian. One night she decided to go out with her only friend, just to get caught by her boyfriend who started inmediatly to hurt her. Bastian who was at the same place saw it and try to help her. Next monday when she got to work she was really ashamed to show her bruise face there, but Bastian wanted to see her. When he saw her thats all it took him to offer his help.
She accepts and they went to gather all her things. But her boyfriend is not going to give up that easily. He wants her and been a cop he thinks he is above the law, and have many resources to make her cave in and go back to him. She is really afraid of him and don't want to press charges against him. Can Bastian really help her?

What an amazing read by Tia Siren and I have to say it’s my favorite from this author so far. There’s suspense, lust/love and two people who have been hurt, one in the past by an ex and the other currently being abused by her partner. Bastian has been Joanna’s boss for years and he has heard the rumours of her boyfriend, Sid, being very possessive and controlling and until he witnesses him manhandling and hurting her does he step in. But it’s not easy considering he has feelings for Joanna and offering her a safe haven as he hides her out and tries to discourage Sid, because while they are together the attraction both feel for each other comes to a head. Unfortunately Sid is going for both of them and until Joanna is dead or back with him, he won’t give up and neither will Bastian, he’ll protect her no matter what.
What a read that had my heart pounding, fists clenched and really really feeling for Joanna and everything she is going through with both men. Tia Siren wrote a powerful emotional read that deals with physical, mental and emotional abuse that I even felt how scared and terrified Joanna was and how hard it would have been to finally gain the courage to stand up to Sid. But then there is the attraction, sparks and feeling safe with another man and finally feeling what love actually is between two people. The steamy scenes made my toes curl and the protectiveness that Bastian feels and all that he does to protect her.....swoon.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Oh My Gosh! Hold onto your seats as we're in for a wild ride with Tia Siren's book "Protected by My Boss". Poor Joanna is in an abusive relationship with Sid who is a cop and he beats her up whenever she does something he doesn't like. Joanna works for bastion who has always been attracted to her but he has never acted upon it as he doesn't "do" relationships since his ex wife cheated on him. But when he sees Sid abusing Joanna at a concert and she doesn't come in to work late the next day covered in bruises, he knows he must protect her. Joanna is terrified as Sid lies and manipulates everything and has threatened her life, that of her family and friends if she dares do anything against him. bastion takes her away to his home away from the city life and they begin to relax and get to know each other better and more intimately. The attraction between them cannot be denied any longer. Tia always writes the most delicious steamy and HOT scenes that may require you to switch on a fan or air con and check that your KIndle isn't melting. but, are they safe? Will Sid find them? This is brilliantly written with the build up of tension with fear and the emotions of lust and passion, and ultimately love building between bastion and Joanna. This is a must have read that you won't want to put down till you've finished the story. Then there are bonus stories too for you to enjoy as well. A terrific set of stories here.

Bastian and Joanna’s journey to HEA is fraught with peril but don’t worry there are plenty of heartwarming and steamy moments to make the roller-coaster worth the ride. Joanna is in trouble - she finds herself in an impossible situation. It’s started how it always seems to - Sid seemed sweet and protective, but it quickly turned ugly and soon she found herself in a nightmare with no way of escaping. Sid’s charm and job on the force seems to have everyone fooled, not to mention it takes away any hope of her escaping his clutches. When his controlling ways are witnessed by none other than her boss one night and things come quite spectacular to a head it’s clear that Sid is going to be the death of her quite literally. Bastian has admired his secretary Joanna Lind since her interview. But he has a strict policy of keeping business and pleasure separate since his marriage imploded he has become Mr Noncommittal. When he gets wind of what Joanna’s boyfriend has been doing to the sweet girl he cannot stand idly by and let him get away with it. He takes her in and decides to help her get away from him no matter what. But being so close to Joanna proves so tempting and not giving in is not an option. And with the threat of her psycho ex on her tail he will have to do everything in his power to protect her.

This was annoying ...two stars for effort
The first couple of pages were good, as was the last few pages. Everything else in between flat lined. The heroine went from shy, abused victim to a clingy dope in less than 24 hours.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!
So the heroine has been working with H for years and has always behaved professionally ans reserved. They only had a working relationship. Then h gets physically abused and H rescues her but taking her to his house. That same night h decides to strip for him as a thank you gesture. He rejects her (even as he craves her) and acts cold the next day. She in turn feels hurt and doesn't understand where his attitude came from and is determined to ask him "what's wrong", because she absolutely can't think of anything they did the night before to warrant his attitude. REALLY LADY???? What an idiot. She went from shy to easy so fast my head spun.
From that point on it's all about H blowing hot and cold. Then bragging about how he plays golf with these bigshots etc but doesn't even call them when the abusive ex starts stalking and acting crazy. He has billions but doesn't use it to hire professionals from the word 'go'.
Apart from the beginning and the end, this book was boring with no real chemistry or character development. This is really and ONE STAR. And the last I'll read by this author.

She a secretary but her submissive way attracts him. When he runs into her and another co-worker at a concert he is surprised but nothing shocked him more than when he saw her boyfriend manhandling her outside the concert. Knowing that his motives might not be completely selfless he steps in and offers her a place to stay while they worked out a safe way to get her free from her soon to be ex-boyfriend. Nothing could prepare Johanna for the intensity of their attraction once they are on their own together. With nothing to stop them they end up giving in and sleeping together. Keeping her isolated isn't helping the situation the ex just won't let things go and things start to seriously escalate. Will Johanna be free of her ex? Can Bastian make things serious with Johanna?
This was a great story. There's everything you could possibly want in a great story hot sex, drama and an amazing storyline. I recommend you get this book if you haven't done so yet you won't regret the purchase.

This was a great story. There's everything you could possibly want in a great story hot sex, drama and an amazing storyline. I recommend you get this book if you haven't done so yet you won't regret the purchase.

***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***Tia you have done it again! A great read! Full of anxious moments! Joanna is a battered woman with all the symptoms and fears! Her abuser is his boyfriend, Sid, who is a policeman. He had made her feel that no matter what he does to her he can get away with it because no one will take her word over his. Joanna's boss, Bastian, has always had his eye on her but he doesn't mix his professional life with his personal life. Turns out that Joanna has a secret crush on her boss. One night while out at a club, something Sid refuses to allow Joanna to attend, she disobeys him and goes with her best friend, Sabrina. He shows up and is dragging down the street to put her in his patrol car. Batian is leaving and sees this abuse and leaves his date to step in and speak up for Joanna. This starts a feud between him and Sid. Once Joanna comes to work with visible bruises he takes her out of Sid's home and takes her to one of his. There they become very close and Sid is intent on destroying Bastian's business with claims of sexual harassment. A very exciting read with an HEA.

They both had thoughts about each other. Bastian ran into Joanna and her friend at a concert. Her boyfriend got physical with her outside and Bastian came to her aid. She was late coming to work the next work day and when she came in it was plain to see she had bruises on her neck and a black eye. Bastian talked her into leaving her boyfriend. This is the story really takes off. The story has danger, lust, betrayal, demons from the past, manipulation, and love. Grab this book to see what all goes on in this book. There are many twist and turns. I couldn’t put this book down.
Tia once again took a plot and added her empathy toward abused women and added her two dimensional characters to make a statement about women being abused. Tia writes such great books and this was no different. This had suspense, action, resists and turns and love. Bastian is the CEO of his company and has only had flings. His ex-wife made it difficult for him to trust another woman and have a real relationship. Joanna is one of his assistants, and has been working for him for the past few years. She is also having problems at home with her boyfriend, Sid. He is very overprotective to the point of being abusive. While she is out with her best friend he shows up and grabs her to get her in his car. Sid is hurting her and Bastian sees this and tries to intervene. Things escalates and Joanna goes home with him to get him to calm down. When she returns to work, Bastian notices bruises on her and gets her to leave Sid. While she is with Bastian he tries to keep his lust in control, but they cross that line. Will Bastian be able to keep Joanna safe from Sid and realize he can have a relationship and love in his life? The chemistry between Joanna and Bastian is very hot. I wasn’t a fan of this one – I didn’t even have the gumption to finish it. My biggest problem? The main characters are absolute idiots. Alone, they’re annoying at best, but put them together and they’re downright unbearable. The only reason I made it as far as I did was because the book was set in Salt Lake City/Park City, Utah. Seeing as I’m from Utah, I never would have guessed I’d encounter a book like this set in Utah. I mean, can you imagine, Utah as the sexy setting for sexy encounters? Talk about laughable. Anyway, I was intrigued to see where it went, and to say it was disappointing is an understatement. I’m not sure if this author has a connection to Utah, or if she’s from here, or what, but if she’s ever spent any time outside, in Park City, she’d probably be aware that wolves aren’t all that common, and to be worried about them when walking outside is absurd. Even if they are in the area, why would they be so close to a house?? “Tracking” our fearless heroine Joanna? I don’t know man, the whole thing seemed stale. So I had to quit reading, despite the book being “on home turf” for lack of a better phrase. Not worth the agony.

I voluntarily reviewed and advanced reader copy of this book. Wow! Loved this book, it’s thrilling, suspenseful, on the edge of your seat freaking good. Bastian, smoking hot, single, no commitments again after his ex-wife did a number on him, one and done from now on. Joanna, works for Bastian and is living a lie. Her boyfriend Sid, who’s a cop is an abuser to the fullest and Joanna makes up excuses for him. That is until one night and Bastian steps in to try and save her only to make matters worse. He tries to convince her she needs to leave him before he actually kills her. His help and caring inspires her to do just that. But at what cost? How far with Sid go to keep what is rightfully his? Will Bastian and Joanna be able to keep their feelings for each other at bay or will they give in? I was glued to this book until I was done, I couldn’t put it down I needed to see if Sid got what was coming to him. I guess you will need to read to find out for yourselves. Highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I was hooked from the start with this latest book by Tia Siren. This was a bit different from some of her other books in that it had a slightly darker side to it in the way of why Joanna needs the protection her boss Bastian offers her. She has been in a relationship with a cop that over the years has turn from a good one to one of abuse and control. Bastian is her boss and has always kept his professional and personal life separate. He has feelings for Joanna and because of hurt caused by his ex wife he does not get emotionally involved. Until one night when he witnesses Joanna's boyfriends, Sid manhandling her. Now he will do anything he can to help Joanna get away from her ex. This story was so well written and I love the chemistry Joanna and Bastian have. The story was full of drama, suspense, a little angst and a really hot couple. I like how they were able to finally overcome all that Sid tried to do to not only get gain control over Joanna but ruin Bastian in the process. I look forward to more wonderful reads by Ms Siren.

This has got to be one of the best books I've read, Tia Siren has definitely given us one amazing story. Her characters were very compelling and very intriguing. One powerful story worth reading I am just unable to put in words how great this story was. 5 stars plus in my opinion anyways.

This is a story about Joanna who is in a relationship with an abusive boyfriend. Sid is a very controlling man and a cop on top of it all. Joanna tries to hide the abuse from everyone but some see through her, one being her boss Bastian. Bastian is a wealthy businessman and has some baggage of his own from his past. Bastian does the right thing by rescuing her and takes her away from Sid. From the moment Sid realizes he does not have Joanna anymore he takes every chance he has to reck trouble in Bastian’s life. I enjoyed the loving connection between Joanna and Bastian and how the struggle to find their way around their feelings for one another. Can Bastian stop his hot and cold feelings for Joanna and will Joanna ever stand up to Sid and be free of his abuse? There are some senstive topics, domestic abuse and a police officer abusing his power, Tia does a good job. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well Done Tia Siren!! I wish I could give this one more than 5-stars, would consider this book one of Tia's best, if not her best! This is a wonderfully well written story with drama, angst, love, lust, heat & one hot alpha male that sure knows how to protect the one he loves. The chemistry between Bastian and Joanna is scorching it can't be denied or contained! Without giving spoilers, I can say I appreciated all the back and forth each characters had especially dealing with their own internal conflicts. I applaud Tia Siren for bringing two difficult topics to light, abuse & divorce, and the lasting effects each can cause. There are many bumps in the road for these two which will keep you turning the pages on this one. In the end, the author somehow beautifully turns such dark issues, into such a wonderfully sweet HEA! I will definitely mark this as a read again and highly recommend reading this one, it is a book you don't want to miss!!

First, fair warning. This book may cause some triggers about abuse. If that may upset you, then this may be a book to pass on. If it is not, then you REALLY need to read this book!! It was so emotional there were multiple times that I was crying as well as wanting to strangle someone. Not to mention the passion in this story!! I really could not put it down. I was on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next until I turned the very last page. Absolutley loved it and think this was one of Tia's best books yet! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

As always Tia Siren has written an enjoyable story that is worth the read. I like the storyline and plot. It builds well up towards the ending.
The characters are well described and develops nicely. There are lots of chemistry and emotions between the main characters. Because it is written in dual POV the reader gets to know both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Because of an abusive ex Joanna has to get protection. Her boss, Bastian, has wanted her for a long time but because of the boss/employee status she is off limit. He helps to protect her and they both open up.
I like that the author has taken a topic like being in an abusive relationship and still can make a great readable story with romance out of it. It is very well balanced.

Bastian was exactly what Joanna needed and when she needed it. He can't deny he is attracted to her, but he won't touch her for so many reasons. All those reasons don't mean anything when she is in danger. He will stop at nothing to make sure she is protected and safe from any danger of her ex-boyfriend. Even if that means he will lose his company. Joanna isn't sure she can trust her feelings after the abuse at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. She is even less sure she can trust Bastian, but feels that she has to. He took her away from all that she knows, just to keep her safe. He put everything on hold just to show that he cares. But will this be enough when they are keeping secrets from each other that could still destroy everything. Only they have that answer and the key to their happiness. I voluntarily read an Advanced Review Copy of this book.

Initially I liked Bastian Burke, our Hero. He came across as a strong alpha who expected and commanded respect in his office. He's supposed to be a smart successful billionaire running a capital management company, yet he appeared at times to be completely naive to basic HR issues concerning interoffice relationships until his lawyer kept repeating warnings to him. The author initially portrayed our heroine, Joanna, as a strong, professional woman whose personal life was a dangerous mess. Yet, when Joanna decided to take a chance and trust Bastian with her safety, and their relationship became romantic, she seemed to lose her ability to think on her own. Her best friend and work colleague, Sabrina, was the only person she really trusted, yet, when she needed to hear a "friendly" voice, so she called her mother, who kept telling her she was making bad decisions.
The story was suspenseful since you never knew what Joanna's ex-boyfriend was going to do, especially since he was a corrupt cop used to manipulating his influence on his fellow officers. But the dialogue between Bastian and Joanna always seemed stilted and simplistic. Details surrounding the climactic ending were also out of order. Without giving away too much, one character suffers injury, and yet, medical attention is only given to this person as an afterthought when in reality, it should have been first and foremost. Then in the epilogue, the series of events there were totally out of character for the respective characters. The last 1/4 of the book could have used stronger editing as it seemed like the author was in a hurry to put the whip cream and cherry on top of the HEA. It was too much and "overly sweetened" which ended up ruining the love story for me.

Excellent contemporary billionaire, work romance. This book was exciting in that there was a lot of emotional issues. Some of these issues dealt with domestic violence, both verbal and physical abuse so there could be triggers. In spite of this the author made a female character that was venerable yet also strong. Sid, the abusive cop is a character you want to hate. Whereas Bastian, the boss, is someone who was hurt by love so believes it's safer not to trust or love a women until Joanna. Joanna has worked for Bastian for several years but always felt differently towards him and he toward her but neither acted. Suddenly, Joanna is in serious danger but it also puts all the people she loves and cares about in the line of fire. I received a complementary copy via Booksprout and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Siren.
